Oh Jardins you sound so alone I really feel for you . I know exactly what it is like to go through pg / mc worries while your DP is away and it is really tough. For you, being in France must make it hard too - I'm presuming you're English?

I just want to reiterate what Scarlotti has said - you now have a lower than 2% chance of losing your baby, try to hold on to that thought. Did you have (ahem ) sex this week before your DH left? That can cause both thrush (as your fanjo-flora is altered during pg) and cervical erosion, either of which can also cause each other. Brown is old - but even bright red blood and cramping doesn't always mean a miscarriage.

I bled brown between 5 weeks and 9 this time, mostly brown but with 5 days of bright red with clots, cramps, the whole caboodle, LittleSyd is currently thumping me in the ribs demanding more breakfast at 28 weeks. I too thought 'this is exactly the same as my last mc, I must have lost the baby'. It's common for your boobs to stop aching towards the end of the first trimester, and for them to fluctuate. Try and hold on to some positivity if you can. Post on here as often as you need - we'll all be thinking of you and mentally holding your hand for the scan on Monday. Really really hoping for good news for you.

Becks congratulations on a happy scan result ! Now you can enjoy your weekend.

scarlotti · 27/06/2009 13:36

becks great news on your scan

jardins It's perfectly natural to feel so worried so try not to beat yourself up about it all. Your symptoms will also lessen now as suze has said so that might well account for your situation.

Am so excited, we're off on hols first thing tomorrow so am getting everything packed up now

Will pop in later to say goodbye and hope that all scans etc. go well while I'm away

jardins · 27/06/2009 13:42

Hello from France! I thought I'd give you an update. I called my GP (who has become a friend too) and I explained my anxieties. She told me it did not set off any warning bells but to call a midwife at the hospital for extra reassurance. I took her advice and the nice midwife told me I shouldn't worry about it. I'm glad I called and if (God forbid) something else happens I know I can call again.

Thank you so much for your support. It's so hard to cope with all those conflicting fears and hopes about the pregnancy when such a 'scare' occurs.

scarlotti · 27/06/2009 19:52

jardins that's good news, hope you can relax a little more now.

Well, am heading off to bed in a minute as we have to be up at 4:30 tomorrow to get going. See you all in about 11 days

sydneysuze · 27/06/2009 21:26

Yay Jardins really glad to hear that reassuring news.

Have a great trip Scarlotti! Where are you going?

alana39 · 29/06/2009 14:08

It's very quiet on here! How are you all coping with the heat?

Have 2 1/2 weeks solid of work starting tomorrow - feeling faint at the thought of the tube in this heat!

20 week scan today (I'm nearly 22, but never mind) and all is well. I can now move on to obsessively worrying about birth trauma, SIDS and ASD.

Excellent news Tamlin! I hadn't realised your due date was 5 November - my friend gave birth to DC2 on that date, and said it was a surreal experience with all the fireworks in the background!

alana39 · 30/06/2009 16:18

Congratulations Tamlin! Are loud bangs supposed to bring on labour?

Tamlin · 01/07/2009 08:11

Gosh, I hope so! I suspect I'm going to go wildly overdue again, though.

Ciara11 · 01/07/2009 14:50

Hi all

Hope you are all coping in this heat, im in an office with no air-con and a few fans blowing the hot air around - not nice at 13+1 weeks eh?

Just to let you know, i had my 13 week dating scan yesterday and all looked ok, bean was moving around, heartbeat and all the right bits in the right places and also the right size

The question is how long will i relax now for? Like you all its difficult after a mc and mmc isnt it?

Hope you and your beans are all keeping well and for those who have lost theirs.

((((((Hugs to all)))))

alana39 · 01/07/2009 19:53

That's great news Ciara. The heat is horrible, isn't it? I'm looking forward to a day in work tomorrow because the aircon is ridiculous - usually lots of complaints that it's too cold. But it does mean a tube journey.....

ashleighbeee · 02/07/2009 11:22

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well at their various stages. I am now 32 weeks pregnant... 32 blinkin weeks...

Anyway, Jardins How are you doing now? I am pleased the midwife reassured you.

Ciara How is the office?? I am pleased the scan went well.

Tamlin Fireworks night?? oooo aaaaarrrrh! Good to hear from you.

Suze YAYYYYYYYYYY to your DH coming home!! hip hip hooooray! I am pleased you and Littlesyd wont be on your todds much longer :D

Scarlotti how are things there? Have your lovely new ebay purchases arrived and have you put all your pushchair together with the new additions?

Hope everyone else is okay. I havent got much to report to be honest, just that i am blinkin hot when i am not in my lovely cool air conn'ed office... I am trying to get the most out of all my lovely dresses before my belly goes (yeah right i can kid myself ay). I have been made redundant, 3 of us out of 6 are gonners... I am not too fussed to be honest, and with my redundancy, mat pay and savings, I will look forward to a nice year off work before i begin to worry...

xx

alana39 · 02/07/2009 13:51

Good to hear you are sounding positive Ashleigh about the bad news. And 32 weeks, hurray . Do you get to stop work early, or will you have to work up to when you were going to go on maternity leave anyway?

ashleighbeee · 02/07/2009 13:59

I am here until the 31st July - I am employed 'officially' until the 31st December 2009 so that they can get my 2 days a month KIT days, but the money will come in handy... so my last day will be 31s July! Getting a bit nervous now.. How is the heat on the tubes going? I bet you feel like feinting!?? I hope that you're being offered seats all the time! xx

ashleighbeee · 03/07/2009 16:01

Oh blimey, where's everyone gone?! x

Ciara11 · 03/07/2009 16:27

It does seem to have gone very quiet doesnt it?
Perhaps everyone is watching Andy Murray instead

Well i hope everyone and their beans are keeping well. Im doing ok, at least the heat has reduced a bit so its not unbearable in the office today.

Lets hope everyone starts posting again eh?

Wheelybug · 04/07/2009 18:01

Pops in to see if Baby Cromwell has made an appearance ?? No news yet I see. Hope all is well Herby .... and everyone else of course !

blondieminx · 05/07/2009 23:09

Evening all

Hope everyone is hanging in there since i was last on, and are coping ok in the heat? passes fans and ice-lollies round

Am back from hols and we have had our 2nd scan (first was done at 7 weeks) on Thursday .. and am delighted to say all is well. It was such a special moment to see our bubba waving at us on screen! so I am finally starting to relax a litte bit - as is hubby who I don't think was letting himself get his hopes up after our MC in March. Asked midwife about weight gain as have put on nearly half a stone already - she said it was fine. Blood pressure slightly low but they are monitoring that along with my thyroid prob...

Jardins Our dates are almost exactly the same I remember - have you had your scan yet, hope all went well? Ciara I saw your post at the top of the thread, great news that all is well

Good luck to those who have scans/due dates in the next few days!

herbaceous · 06/07/2009 05:42

Hi all

Glad your scan went well BM - always a weight off the mind, however temporary!

Hi Wheely! Cromwell STILL not here. I've got an induction booked for tomorrow night (yikes), and acupuncture booked this afternoon to try and coax him out more naturally. The induction sounds a bit scary - I go in in the afternoon, they give me some prolactin gel on me cervix, then send me home. If I don't go into labour overnight, they'll give more prolactin at 8am the next morning and keep me in. Either way, not much sleep! And either way, he'll be here by the end of the week!

Still somewhat terrified... and still can't believe it's all going to be OK. Having nightmares about stillbirth...

Tamlin · 06/07/2009 10:21

Good luck, herbaceous! I've heard really good things about acupuncture for bringing on labour, so I hope it does the trick for you. (Either that or the imminent threat of forced eviction - I went into labour the day before my booked induction!)

Make sure your partner communicates to the midwife that you are really, really anxious. You can ask for them to listen to the heartbeat again if you're worried at any point.

alana39 · 06/07/2009 14:24

I was just wondering on my way in to work who was due next so looking forward to hearing your good news, Herbaceous. Good luck with the acupuncture.

I am surrounded by people complaining that summer's over. It's lovely! Although I'm slightly disappointed that my elephant ankles haven't subsided, so it wasn't just the heat and is probably going to carry on for the next 3 1/2 months .

Wheelybug · 06/07/2009 15:46

good luck Herby - FWIW i still was worrying about it all going wrong 5 mins before they wheeled me into theatre - the anaesthetist said he'd never made someone cry before. Still can't believe it tbh and L is 17 weeks old on thursday !!

Will be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing your news.

alana39 · 07/07/2009 11:40

Morning,

Just posted a thread on this, but wondered if any of you have ever had just one foot swell up. Slightly disturbing, and not very comfortable in shoes. Any ideas, ladies? Thought it might just be awkward baby putting more weight on one side and blocking return of fluids maybe?

herbaceous · 07/07/2009 12:47

Hi Alana. My right foot has been consistently even more swollen than my left. No-one seems very concerned - I think it depends where the baby is positioned... I think it's only if it's painful that you have to worry.

Not long to go until I go in for my first prostoglandin gel. Absolutely bricking it. Had a few contractions last night, so thought he was going to beat the hospital to it in the nick of time, but they are no more.

Send me all the positive vibes you have, girls!
