I am 32 weeks pregnant. I have SPD. I have a Bartholin's cyst (growing bigger by the day!). I can't sleep for SPD pain / compressed bladder/anxiety dreams about impending birth (VBAC or elective c0section? Still can't decide!)

And to cap it all off, I have now developed haemorrhoids
(sp?) of epic proportions. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Feel free to join me in a BIG, FAT WHINGE.

I developed my cyst a few years ago, had it operated on....and then it came back at the beginning of this pregnancy (raaaaaaaah!). It doesn't hurt, but it's got huge. GP also advised to leave it alone until after the baby is born. Will have a gynae appointment some time after 6 week postnatal check.

Don't no of any natural remedies, unfortunately. They are funny things, Bartholin cysts. They can go up and down, and even completely disappear, of their own free will. I was advised not to use anything perfumed in the bath as it may irritate it further.

Anoying, though, isn't it?

35+1 today, feel like shit

SPD requiring crutches & maternity support belt since 25 weeks. "morning" sickness back with gusto this past week, constantly feeling like im about to spew and have done 3 times already this morning, it's like something from the exorcist! DH is great but sometimes I get fed up with hearing how it will all be over soon enough.

This is my first and I just feel like I have been in pain/sick all the way through. Had enough now, want this baby outta me!

MavisG · 13/10/2008 13:23

29 weeks. Back and pelvic pain that means I can't stand, or sit, or lie down, or walk for any length of time. I haven't slept more than 2 hours at a time for 3 weeks and can only do a max of 5 hours in a night before hips hurt too much to be slept on any more.

I'm failing at work, have decided to start ML early but am struggling even to complete handover and finish vital tasks. It doesn't help that I can only tolerate being in the office for a couple of hours at a time, which is as long as I can squat/kneel for.

It's going to get worse as I get bigger.

elmerthe1st · 13/10/2008 13:43

Hurrah - glad to find this. I'm joining in too... I'm only 23 weeks but feel bigger & less mobile than I ever did with my first one. Who, at 19 months, is utterly gorgeous but so demanding that I'm wondering whether I really want to go through this again?! My lovely man is totally unhelpful at times and I had to resort to a few tears at the weekdn to make him understand that his manky hands are quite capable of cooking sometimes too. I feel soooo tired. Guess I've largely missed out on all the nasty things that generally go with the joy of becoming round, but do have restless legs, have started Pilates to combat the back pain and lately am suffering from a really quite uncomfortable period-y type pain after weeing. Does anyone else? Should I worry? It may be because I have had a cervical sutre (stitch) to keep the baby in but I don't remember it from last time 'round. The baby's moving madly (& the scan last week was fine)& the idea of anyone telling me I need bed rest seems ... hmm, lovely but unfeasible

HateHoovering · 13/10/2008 14:02

Madformybaby

Have you had you blood count checked? You're probably anaemic. Might be worth checking as iron tablets or spatone will make you feel more energetic/less breathless within a couple of weeks.

My moan today is I'm 37 wks and think my baby has turned round (kind of sideways) from being head down for ages. Really don't want a section. Also starting to have the birth fear. It's number 2 so should know what to expect but that makes it worse. Also scared about propspect of coping with 2 tiny people. Feeling very anxious and nails are horrible and bitten to the quick.

mad4mybaby · 13/10/2008 14:12

HH last time was the 28 week ones... i'll see how i feel tomorrow, as have just put it down to suddenly feeling very heavily pg! I know what you mean , this is my 2nd and i too am dreading thinking about dealing with 2 little ones. Like how to have a shower when no one else around!!

nuclear · 13/10/2008 15:57

Mrs Mattie - Gem here (name changed)

yup annoying alright. Hope you are feeling a litle better now (I replied to your post earlier)

I too am waiting for the 6 week check and if it hasn't gone they are gonna do a small op -but I have heard that they aren't that successful (as in they can come back)- we shall have to wait and see (!)

keep hoping that one morning I will wake up and it has suddenly disappeared but no luck yet!

babybear77 · 13/10/2008 20:12

is anybody else crying for no apparent reason? feel horrible and fat. scan tomorrow to check baby is ok with beta blockers and then see obs. if you had the choice of au naturale vs section what would you do?

nuclear · 13/10/2008 20:19

oooh good question baby ...

if you would have asked me 2 weeks i would have said a section as i was slightly scared to say the least of giving birth to a large baby second time round.

but now think i am still prefering the natural option....

MrsMattie · 13/10/2008 20:55

I'm opting for a VBAC this time (although sh**ing myself, as had 10 lb-er last time eek)

nuclear - I had the small op - 'marsupialisation' they call it in 2006. It came back this year . Gutted!

Can I join?
32 weeks pregnant
insomnia has kicked in big time (same as with DD)
Achy hips and pelvis (though not full-blown SPD so far this time touch wood)
very very poorly bottom
(thought I might have to go to A&E to have one spectacularly scary poo removed - now just bleed copiously whenever I poo - ugh)
leg cramps at 2am
heartburn from time to time - with 'follow-through' on occasion (nice)

and just being IRRITATED by everyone and everything - particularly by commuting - and this time round knowing that when the baby's born I'll be EVEN MORE TIRED than I am right now!

nuclear · 14/10/2008 06:11

10 lbs !!!!

I thought 9lb 3 oz was bad enough - have they sent you for any extra scans Mrs Mattie?

DO they think this one will be a similar size?

Verso - I totally sympthathise with the poorly bum (poor you)

EffiePerine · 14/10/2008 09:23
LazyLinePainterJane · 14/10/2008 14:32

I started with heartburn a couple of nights ago. Only when I am lying in bed. Because I need to me more uncomfortable at bed time. Thank for that.

babybear77 · 14/10/2008 16:26

thanks nuclear. you kind of think that if someone offered u a section you'd jump at the chance....was kind of surprised by my reaction. but still in a dilemma....eek!

liznay · 14/10/2008 18:20

Let me see....

I'm 28wks pg and have a full blown cold which is making me depressed. woke up at 4.30am last night and had a good old cry because I felt so sorry for myself. Other than that, I guess I've got away lightly after reading some of these posts.
MRS mattie - I had a bartholin's cyst removed a couple of years ago so I know how painful they are. Hope you feel better soon.

nuclear · 14/10/2008 19:04

babybear - don't know your history - so not sure why you have been offered a c-section.

It's strange isn't it how we sometimes react the opposite to how we expect - I suppose you need to follow your gut....

Verso · 15/10/2008 03:09

Thanks, Effie >waves< .

MrsMattie My DD was 9lb 6oz and to say the birth smarted a bit would be a complete understatement. However, every birth is different and I do know of people who've delivered big babies with no problems at all.

elkiedee · 15/10/2008 12:12

Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling sorry for myself (sounds like lots of you have it harder). I'm 25+2 with my second baby and just feeling really tired all the time yet I seem to wake up constantly in the night with various aches and pains or burning throat.

mad4mybaby · 16/10/2008 09:39

eugh. really had enough now. i seem to have developed immsomnia now aswell. i was soooo tired when i went to bed last night yet i layed awake for hours even after reading. when ds woke me up this am im like nooo ive only just gone to sleep. Also feels like a hippo has been laying on my pelvis

nuclear · 16/10/2008 09:52

aaaaaahhhhhhhh
PILES

Poppy5 · 17/10/2008 14:47

Still don't know what the pain is on the right side of my bump - at the top under my ribs.....been to scans, blood tests but nothing has been solved and it really is such a severe pain that I have to lie down every 10 mins to help ease the pain as sitting up or standing up is just so painful. I tried to go to work but I ended up going to a meeting room and lying down just to help the pain go away. Have been to A&E, midwife, docs, scans etc but nothing is known. I'm just told to take painkillers but they don't work! I'm 24 weeks pregnant and so can't take anything stronger than paracetamol but that doesn't help at all. Any ideas as to what it is...?! Anyone else going through this or has had this piercing stabbing pain...?

SpringBlossom · 17/10/2008 16:24

Poppy, I don't know what your pain is but you sound really upset - I am so sorry and hope you can find a way to resolve it. Are you sure you can't take anything other than paracetamol? I was in hospital in very early stages of pregnancy and I could take codeine based painkillers at that point if pain was too bad... obviously, I am sure most of us worry about taking painkillers etc but sometimes you've just got to deal with the pain - so I would really double check with your GP! (It may be that you can only take paracetamol in later stages...)

My biggie moan is about my 21cm fibroid that makes me equivalent of seven months preggers at 17+1. But in some ways it's the little things that are really grievous...I can't stop yawning and yawning until my ears block up and I can't hear properly. AND! For the first time since I was a child (a very long time ago) I'm developing a ... WART! I think I've been so stressed my immune system must have weakened enough to let this virus make a re-appearance. So I'm fat, warty old witch. Marvellous.

But I am having my first baby and that makes me so happy.

nuclear · 19/10/2008 09:41

Hi Poppy

I have had a pain on and off to the right side of my bump but it doesn't sound anywhere near as bad as yours. Mine feels kind of bruised from where the baby's bottom is permanently sticking out.

Some days it feels very tender others its fine.

Do you think it is anything to do with the position of your baby?
