I am 32 weeks pregnant. I have SPD. I have a Bartholin's cyst (growing bigger by the day!). I can't sleep for SPD pain / compressed bladder/anxiety dreams about impending birth (VBAC or elective c0section? Still can't decide!)

And to cap it all off, I have now developed haemorrhoids
(sp?) of epic proportions. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Feel free to join me in a BIG, FAT WHINGE.

Hey moaners! I hadn't gone far - can't keep away from this thread for more than a day or two . I had to go to hospital today and be monitored because the baby hadn't been moving much for the last few days. Of course, got there, hooked me up to monitor and gave me a cold drink....and baby started doing bleedin' somersaults! I felt a complete twit, especially because I am not a first timer, but midwife was lovely and said to always be on the safe side and not to worry about 'making a fuss'. Anyway, has put my mind at rest and baby has been really active today...

However - my heavy cold has turned into full on flu - aching joints, slight temperature, hacking cough, whopping great cold sore inside my nose (nice!). Midwife today said I will need anti-b's if I don't start to feel better within 24 hours . I am also feeling really tearful, as DH is going away for business again (that's third time in 2 weeks). I just want a foot massage and a cup of hot chocolate and to be waited on hand and foot for a few days - not too much to ask, is it?

oh mrs mattie you sound so much like me. My dh works away every mon-fri and it is horrible esp with a 2yr old at home! Depressing and lonley! And yes i soooo want someone to wait on me for a change! Maybe theres someone we can hire.........

i know what you mean about feeling twitish at being monitered. I went the other week to be checked for pre eclampsia due to huge headaches and 'visual disturbances' which im still having but baby was fine and dandy! Best way though!

Ive also got some wierd disease. Not flu thankfully but some wierd throat thing. Since ds started pre school last month he constantly got a cold/cough so that not helping!

MrsMattie · 08/10/2008 18:11

There needs to be a service for pregnant women who have toddlers to look after and DHs who work away!@mad4mybaby. I could knock up a job description pretty quickly - would definitely involve massage-on-demand, all housework and cooking, and a good ear to listen to all my pregnancy moans

Oh what a good thread!

I am 27 weeks and I have:

  • Varicose veins where I never thought you could have varicose veins

  • A toddler who wants to be carried everywhere

  • A bad back

  • A husband who has gone for a weeks golfing holiday in portugal

  • My mother, brother, sister in law, nephew and their dog as house guests who don't seem to know when they are going to leave

Oh and I'm knackered. Thanks for that, feel a bit better now!

pgwithnumber3 · 09/10/2008 11:57

Oh ladies, I feel for you, I really do. This is my only pregnancy where I have felt relatively okay. I am still waiting for the shit to hit the fan (23 weeks). Keep repeating "it will all be over soon, it will all be over soon..."

FlirtyThirty · 09/10/2008 15:46

I am feeling shamefully sorry for myself today so thought I'd join in. My main issues...

  • Huge problem with excesive saliva production. It's awful. I need to spit all the time! It makes me feel sick there is so much of it. Truly grim.
  • Morning sickness...with starts in the morning and then repeats at any given time of day. My speciality is canary yellow bile!
  • An ugly coldsore - huge and right in the middle of my lip.
  • The start of a bad back...something I have never suffered with before!
  • Tiredness which has sapped the very essence of life from me.
  • Fear. Complete and utter terror that I am going to get to scan next week and be told that I have had a missed miscarriage and am imagining all these things.

34 weeks and my moans are:

  • SPD had it last time worse but nagging, especially when turning over in bed
  • sheer exhaustion after lunch and 2 year old chosen to give up her nap entirely (why now?!)
  • hope I dont sound like Marie Antoinette but just moved into a big house from our tiny London flat. Everything seems miles away taking the washing from the bedrooms to the utility room feels like a massive expedition. Plus the toddler often wants to be carried along with whatever I am carrying. Lugging the hoover plus chubby toddler up to the attic made me miss my tiny London flat for about a second...
thejesta2 · 09/10/2008 19:23

Hiya can i join in the moan? Im 33 weeks and have:
CRONIC indigestion
HORRIFIC stretch marks - i look like a tiger, a big red tiger!
SPD
The need to wee all the time
A partner who is (i think) purposfully trying to defy me at any oppurtunity and is not doing anything to help around the house
Having to sit on a horrid chair at work which hurts my back and ribs!
HOWEVER - very lucky to have missed a visit from the hemmoriod fairy so happy with that at least!

LazyLinePainterJane · 09/10/2008 19:30

Oh good, unmitigated moaning!

I am 35+4, have SPD. My midriff is hairy and spotty, so much so that the hairs on my legs seem to have stopped growing in favour of their new location.

The doctors are desperate for me to take iron tablets for a level that is not concerning and Dh has been working away for 5/6 days a week for the last 12 weeks, with no end in sight.

I cannot sleep for Braxton Hicks or toilet trips, and the agony that is turning over in bed.

AllieBongo · 09/10/2008 19:46

I've come for a moan too! I have SPD, low blood pressure, anaemia so i constantly feel like poo. My youngest had an asthma attack last week so the day after I was carted off in an ambulance for fainting, she was rushed to a and e so I then had 3 nights of very little sleep when I was supposed to be getting bed rest. She was dosed up to the eyeballs on steroids (after she had vomitted them back up for a couple of days) which meant that her and ds were bickering lots, and then she got an infection in her toe and they thought she had blood posioning. so finally now, i am hoping to get some rest tomorrow! i am never doing this again

AllieBongo · 09/10/2008 19:47

can i just add thought that dh has been wonderful...

Twelvelegs · 09/10/2008 19:51

35 weeks, still having building work on the house, credit crunch hitting a bit, looking after toddler all day, builders in my house meaning I can't go to the toilet in peace (which is all of the time), water retention has hit with a vengence, I am complete bitch to everyone, after five minutes of dss returning from school I am quite evil, baby keeps hitting nerves shooting pains down my legs, the three c-sections I have had have captured ligaments in my scar which gives me more pain than I can bare......

mad4mybaby · 09/10/2008 20:47

sorry ladies but it is nice to hear there are others having it crap eh?!

oh BTW i read yesterday that eating dates are supposed to help with water retention and they are now in season. Worth a go! Also help prevent constipation if nothing else!

I reckon there is something in the air about toddlers suddenly stopping naps. I reckon it IS something to do with another baby on the way... my ds is sooo active and does sleep very well and does need his nap but will stand up there shouting at me so days like today i dont even bother! Every other day i end up going for a quick drive just so he gets a few naps a week. I reckon he thinks he missing out on something! Oh and YES to wanting to be carried everywhere!! What is that about?? Every time im cooking ds wants 'up' and has to be in EVERYTHING im doing. Maybe its abit of insecurity on their part? Just thing this is probably the biggest thing they have ever faced in their little lifes!

Any thoughts of what to buy for ds1 from baby? He always asks for thomas but its sooo expensive plus it be nice to see some other toy in the house!

EBenes · 09/10/2008 23:29

"Huge problem with excesive saliva production. It's awful. I need to spit all the time! It makes me feel sick there is so much of it. Truly grim."

Oh, this is called 'water brash' and is your body's weird precursor to vomiting. I have this and the weird orange yellow stuff. This morning I was spitting my water brash into the loo (because if you swallow it you almost always are sick, if you spit it out you stand a fighting chance) and my toddler stood next to me laughing, thinking I was playing some weird, dirty spitting game. But it's better than being sick, which makes her cry.

MrsMattie · 10/10/2008 09:06

Hi fellow moaners.

FlirtyThirty - are you in your first trimester? I feel for you. It can be such a worrying time. Good luck for your scan x

whatironing (and everyone with DHs working away / on holiday etc)- I hope your husband is going to return from his golfing trip and give you a day/night off! My DH has been away for work so much recently I am starting to think he was just a figment of my imagination...can't even remember how I got pregnant in the first place

Kerala - I have been living in a house for about 4 years now after spending my whole life in a London flat - still haven't got used to it!

Twelvelegs - you are having it rough. Builders have only recently vacated my house after a year here (!), so totally relate.

On a positive note, my cold-from-hell is easing and my mum did the school run for me today

On the down side - I can no longer get a decent night's sleep . NO position is comfortable. I feel sick and breathless on my back or right side, and ache like hell on my left side. I think I woke up every 30 mins last night. So frustrating, as I usually sleep like a baby.

chinchi · 10/10/2008 09:16

Loving this thread and would like to add if I may?! Im 30+2.

I feel completely restless, I have a need to be doing something constantly, yet really cant be bothered as Im getting to sleep around 3am and waking again at 8

Turning over in bed is almost impossible without waking DH up from groaning out in pain.

Its my birthday today and would love nothing more than a trip around the shops and a nice cold lager. Lager obviously out of the window, and have been told to rest at home as DS was born at 29+5.

Im scared every little twinge is the start of something. Ive got so obsessed with it that the print has almost rubbed off the letters on the keyboard from my constant Googling.

I eat, and eat, and eat, and never feel full

pgwithnumber3 · 10/10/2008 09:48

Happy Birthday chinchi! 21 again?

You have a nice cold lager if that is what you fancy, it won't do any harm. Maybe sip it in the house so you don't have old ladies tutting at you.

I too never feel full, I have days where I eat normally but other days I can be shaking with hunger an hour after breakfast. What's that all about?

FlirtyThirty · 10/10/2008 10:43

Mrs Mattie - Yes. First trimester. In fact 12 weeks today, scan in a week. I just pray that the nausea really is a 'good sign'!

EBenes - I cannot tell you how happy you have made me! You have given me a name and explanation for this horrible saliva situation, and I am hugely grateful to you! I knew none of what you said! I am quite relived to find it is not just me, and is actually a recognised state. And I agree...it is preferable to actual vomiting...but still horrid! I am off to learn more about water brash.

pgwithnumber3 · 10/10/2008 11:02

One other ailment of pregnancy which cracks me up - THRUSH! I am sick to the back teeth of Canesten. Costs me a fortune.

FlirtyThirty · 10/10/2008 11:16

pgwithnumber3 - can you not get Canesten on free prescription (assuming you are in UK)...? Might be worth asking GP?

pgwithnumber3 · 10/10/2008 11:23

Flirty - why did I not think of that?

Will pop to GP when I can and ask for a prescription for it. Thanks!

Twelvelegs · 10/10/2008 11:26

Can I recommend the pillow, for all who can't sleep, that I bought from Jojomamanbebe. It supports back and bump and fits through legs..then can be sed as a feeding pillow.

chinchi · 10/10/2008 11:42

I could always buy a 4 pack of Kaliber I suppose pgwithnumber3! It was a Godsend when I was expecting last time round!

I can use it to wash down a big slice of birthday cake.

"Passes cake around to all those who need cheering up"

pgwithnumber3 · 10/10/2008 12:35

I found a low calorie Cider in Tesco which is quite nice and also Becks Alcohol Free is okay with Lime in. Although if I feel like glass of wine, I do have a small one. When you get to your third pregnancy, I think I have relaxed a bit more.
