Welcoming all those who have received their BFPs for a November bubba - congratulations to all!
I felt terrified as not really TTC #2 but thanks to support from the kind ladies of MN I’ve decided to embrace and be excited.

34, baby #2, probably keeping it a surprise(?!) mum to a 7yo DS, hoping only 1 in there as only 3 weeks today and heft symptoms already

The exhaustion is real. So hard to function by the afternoon for me! What electrolytes are you using? I keep thinking I need some I am so thirsty!

I’ve been using the Oshun electrolytes!

Update all
12 week scan today and measuring a week ahead so been upped to 13+3 with a new EDD of 03/11
Completely different to my first, it was wriggling and dancing all over the place and wouldn’t stay still for measurements and photos for very long! B it so reassuring to see it so healthy
Now it all feels real! 🥰
Hope everyone is doing good and has a good BH weekend

Aw this is lovely to hear 🥰 so glad your scan was like that! We have ours on Thursday and I cannot wait !

I’m so late to join this but started feeling a bit of loneliness and wanted to join something knowing I’d feel a part of something bigger! Baby due 16/11/26- our dating scan is hopefully next Friday! I’ve got COVID at the minute, on day 3 so really hoping we still get to have our scan! We first saw our baby in the EPAU (all is good) but a little 6 week and 3 day old with a heartbeat at the time. Super anxious still until I get to see them again, first baby for us!

Never too late to join! Welcomeeeeeeee soon to be mama ! 😊

13.5 weeks now, slept through the night last night without getting up to wee for the first time since testing positive. Hoping for the impending second trimester being a little easier than the first.

Ooh yes I’m starting to get this too! Yay!

We had our 12 week scan last Tuesday and was measuring a little ahead of what I thought so due date is now 1st Nov. Everything looked good and baby was very active ❤️ 14 weeks and still feeling a bit rubbish but have had some better days lately. So hoping things will ease a little more in the next few weeks 🤞
Lovely hear of all the good news of healthy scans ❤️

That's fantastic! And puts us much closer - Must have both been 13 weeks for our scans and apparently thats when they're most wriggly - ours was breakdancing. Glad to hear another happy, healthy scan :) Have any of your niggly symptoms lasted?

Ah yeah, think I was 13+2 on the day of the scan so only a couple of days in it for us 😊 some of our measurements were done upside down because baby was too busy wiggling around 😂 yeah still getting sickness and nausea, more recently heartburn/reflux and just general aches and pains in hips and back etc. Starting to feel a little less tired some days though so hoping things will ease soon 🤞 How are you feeling? X

Has anyone else had screening at their 12 week scan? Ours has come back as low risk, 1 in 240 chance of Down’s syndrome. A few of my friends have said that they got 1 in 5000 probability so just looking for some reassurance

Funnily enough mine came back today with a 1 in 387 risk for Down syndrome X

How are you feeling about it? I really wish they didn’t give you the numbers as I can’t help over thinking that the number isn’t as high as people I know x

1 in 240 is roughly the same odds as drawing a specific card you are aiming for twice in a row from a deck of cards.

Ergo, not very likely.

If it helps I was told a similar number with my last pregnancy and as you would expect from those statistics my daughter is healthy and amazing.

LPR16 · 05/05/2026 21:26

Thank you @CutelittlepuppyI think this is the reality check reassurance I needed to hear

Honestly hadn’t really thought much about it. There was nothing on the scan that looked concerning though so not going to stress X

The fluid on my scan was within normal range too, so I’m going to take your perspective and focus on that and the low risk grading. Thank you, hope it didn’t come across as I was trying to worry you x

Just gentle request/ note on language, that those of us with children with Down syndrome use the term chance not risk. My oldest has Down syndrome, was given a chance of 1 in 2500. I’m very proud that I can say he is very literally 1 in 2500 (not one in a million, but not bad). He is also healthy and amazing!

LPR16 · 08/05/2026 15:51

Thank you for pointing that out @TheMauveHedgehog
I had repeated the terminology of the letter I received from the hospital but didn’t intend to cause any upset. I’m sorry if I did

Thank you. No offence. Some hospitals / medical systems have much more person centred/ inclusive language than others.

This is really interesting — so the number clearly is meaningless! I got 1 in 480. What will be will be.

echoing what @LPR16 says, wouldn’t have realised the nhs terminology could feel bad to others. I can understand why now you mention it though so thank you 😊

Did they do NIPT? I would think that’s a very accurate test that would look at chromosomes and therefore be able to tell if there are 3 chromosomes 21 (which is Down’s syndrome).

(I also wanted to thank this thread for the reminder of using inclusive language)

iwasgonnasay · 10/05/2026 00:13

Inclusive language is important, as is the way you address it. Thank you for not shaming but guiding instead. What a difference. I always think we have such a lovely group here! Very lucky

We finally have our scan next week, nervous and excited to see what's going on in there. Am a bit worried though about what's going on parliament, because Wesley is our top choice boy's name, DD would have been Wesley if a boy. I have nothing against Wes Street ingredients but I really don't want to name our baby after the prime minister.
