Welcoming all those who have received their BFPs for a November bubba - congratulations to all!
I felt terrified as not really TTC #2 but thanks to support from the kind ladies of MN I’ve decided to embrace and be excited.

34, baby #2, probably keeping it a surprise(?!) mum to a 7yo DS, hoping only 1 in there as only 3 weeks today and heft symptoms already

Me!! Just joining this thread now as I was looking for somewhere to complain about how ridiculously tired I am even when I've done nothing...

I'm 11w1 today, due 4 November.

It’s sooo tough right? 😅 how are we meant to go about our daily lives like this ? I need constant naps and I just feel brain foggy all the time. I have found out that evenings are better and I think electrolytes do help. How are you managing?

Does anyone have any thoughts on early scans? I’m 8+5 today and just had my booking in appt. Midwife booked me in for an early scan because I said I was worried after two previous miscarriages. I’ve only ever had bad news at early scans (with my successful pregnancies I’ve always waited until 12 weeks). My head says that the scan just tells me what is already true but I’m also fearful about even going into the EPU. At the moment I’m obsessively checking every time I wipe and second guessing every symptom. I can’t decide if the scan will be good for me or if it’s just too scary. Anyone had positive experiences of early scans or have any advice?!

I was so worried for the early scan but it really reassured me. At 8 weeks you should be more than fine for an early scan. I hope you come back from that appointment having seen your babies heart beat and feeling reassured and excited xx

I don’t know really, I think when I feel like I’m genuinely gonna fall asleep at work I make myself get up and go for a walk, but afternoons are so bad! Hope it gets better for us both soon!!

Same! I hope so too! I have heard it’s only a first trimester thing so not long to go 🤞🏽

Exercise problems anyone??!!?!?!?!

Hi, I am 33 years old and a first-time mum-to-be living in West London. This is my first baby. I am 11 weeks and 5+ days. I have had 2 private scans and one 12-week scan coming up next week (via NHS). I have had consistent cramps throughout, which has left me unable to do more than my usual 10k steps a day.

Before I found out I was pregnant (at 2 weeks) I did my regular Barry's bootcamps, sauna, and cold plunges. I also did some running. Now, fast forward to 6 weeks up until now, I am super exhausted and just want to go back to the gym. BUT the days when I feel well enough, I start cramping so I just opt for a walk. Does this happen to others? What do you do? Not sure I feel comfortable powering through the cramps whilst exercising.

Hey mama-to-be!

I am 31, 9w 4d and also a first time mum in North London. Before pregnancy, I was also at the gym several times a week, running occasionally (used to be regularly) and getting my steps in.

Since 6 weeks I have been to the gym maximum once a week in a good week and find it hard to even go for daily walks due to fatigue. I need constant naps and after a walk I am exhausted! Some days I am exhausted after hanging the washing!

Maybe it’s okay for us to listen to our bodies for a bit and listen to the constant demand for rest ? Apparently it gets better in the second trimester and you’re almost there!

I’d say, when you get burst of energy and feel you can work out, go for it! If cramps stop you, rest or do light exercise instead. Not pushing through the cramps is a good idea. If you need the exercise for your mental health, see if there is something you can do that is less intense for now. I’ve been focusing on pelvic floor and hip exercises. Meditation is also helping me manage the lack of movement. When your body says, “okay we have a good strong baby growing now, and we don’t need focus on making arms and legs everyday now, let’s get back to exercise” then go for it.

I tell myself that if the baby is going from having no facial features or nubs for arms one week, to having arms, legs, hands, joints and feet a few weeks later, then it makes sense it’ll take all the energy we have! It’s a different type of HIT workout!!

Soon we can get back to it! Allow yourself to just rest until then if you can!

I also find going to bed two hours earlier, electrolytes in water and finding the sweet spot hours in my day helps. Although each day is really hard and a lot of positive self talk is needed to make sure I am kind to myself about resting! 😅

We’ve got this 💪🏽🔥

Alwaysgrowing · 18/04/2026 16:58

@MamaKyz at 11+5 your nearly out of the first trimester and so keep listening to your body and hopefully one day soon you'll have more energy. I know everyone is different with pregnancy, eg some always feel sick right through, but I remember with my other pregnancies literally waking up one day thinking, yes I'm full of energy now.

Is anyone else exhausted at all times ? 😅 I feel so so lazy. I nap for hours and still feel exhausted!

THIS. I could sleep all day and night, waking just to eat and pee lol I feel so huge and uncomfortable already I can't believe it's only 11 weeks. Nothing like number 1... no early scans or anything so I am still just praying only one has taken up residence - anyone got any twins vibes or thinking about it as the 12 wk scan approaches?

It’s so difficult! Although since Saturday, I’d hate to jinx it, but I’ve been so much better and, while I still have waves throughout the day, can actually get stuff done! 🥺 really really hoping the worst of the fatigue is over!

I had a 7 week scan which showed one baby but the tiredness got me wondering if one baby washing behind the other and we will have a shock at the 12 week scan 😂

Good luck for the scan and whatever you outcome you would like, whether that be twins or one baby!!!

My mad fatigue is also ever so slightly going off, I think...! I'm 11 w 5 days today and have my 12 week scan on Saturday, but this is an IVF pregnancy so I've already seen The Entity at 6 weeks and 9 weeks...definitely only one in there but it's still been wiping me out!

MamaKyz · 20/04/2026 22:19

Youre almost finished the first trimester! 👏🏽 glad yours also seems to abating, I hope it continues for us both!

I was looking at the pregnancy plus app today and how much change there is between week 9 and 10 and it made so much sense why it takes so much out of us 😅 the babies are working harddddd!!

Scan today, measures 7+3 which is just one day of my expectations, heart action ok.

Any tips for my poor guts? I'm bloated and gassy. A lot.

Praise Espumisan with great praise.

I was so bloated that it was painful, now it is just an inconvenience.

Additionally, I'm not that tired. I don't need to sleep 11 hours, 9 will do.
I know, I'm lucky to have the chance to do that.

12weeks guys should come and give us updates my ears are itching for good news 🥰

Sarah268 · 23/04/2026 10:21

12 week scan tomorrow (will be 12+5) and it feels like this has been the longest time coming! Just hoping it’s all ok in there because the little bean has been very well behaved and caused me no trouble recently (except the tiredness). My toddler is fully “toddler-ing” at the moment so that is very much the main stress in my life right now 🤣

Roll on the second trimester and hopefully everyone gets more energy again! The sunshine is helping :)

CrazyKJ · 23/04/2026 10:57

Still feeling pretty tired and bloated (especially in the evenings) here too. Still having sickness/nausea, also have heartburn to add to my list of complaints now too 😂🙈.
Had a bit of a scare yesterday as I’ve been having some slight bleeding. Went to be checked at EPU and baby looks great, very wiggly with perfect heartbeat. Apparently when the placenta starts to take over, you can have a little bleeding if any of the blood vessels fail. This is the assumption so in theory the bleeding shouldn’t get worse, and should be gone in a few days 🤞🤞🤞
Hope everyone else is getting on okay, exciting with all the scans getting close 😁

Fanmummy · 23/04/2026 11:48

@Sarah268 wishing you all the best darling. Today is my 12weeks and 1day, I went to hospital to register for antenatal and also my 12weeks scan but was told antenatal are for Wednesdays so I was asked to come back next week😫 I’m not particularly about the antenatal but scan hoping it will be reassuring. I’m trusting God for a good news. Please keep us updated 🙏

girljulian · 26/04/2026 07:05

Had my scan yesterday and the little bean wouldn’t stop wriggling about! But got the measurements eventually. It was so cool to see them doing all that swimming and kicking!

Don't exercise with cramps. Also lay of planks, sit ups, rowing, anything that involves too much for the abdomen. It can do more harm than good with the amount that the muscles and ligaments are shifting around in there.

Cutelittlepuppy · 26/04/2026 09:26

I'm 11 weeks + 1 and have been really struggling with nausea but that seems to be improving. Now I am exhausted though.

This is my second pregnancy, my DD is 3, however it is so different from the first.

The exhaustion is real. So hard to function by the afternoon for me! What electrolytes are you using? I keep thinking I need some I am so thirsty!

Elimomel · 27/04/2026 09:41

Hi I'm due in November too. Congrats to all of you. I have been playing this to baby for brain development, if anyone else wants to give it a go. The baby can't stop moving and kicking

JesseMumsnet · 27/04/2026 11:30

Hey everyone,

On a related note - we're testing a new idea at Mumsnet and would love your input. It's a feature that helps expecting parents get all the support they need, feel more prepared for birth and have contact with a midwife 24/7 to ask any questions you want. Still very early days so hoping to chat to a few of you to see if you'd find it useful.

If you'd be up for a short chat, there's a £20 amazon voucher in it for you and you'd be genuinely helping us shape a super useful product. Sign up here: LINK.

Either way, wishing you all well x

I’m so late to join this but started feeling a bit of loneliness and wanted to join something knowing I’d feel a part of something bigger! Baby due 16/11/26- our dating scan is hopefully next Friday! I’ve got COVID at the minute, on day 3 so really hoping we still get to have our scan! We first saw our baby in the EPAU (all is good) but a little 6 week and 3 day old with a heartbeat at the time. Super anxious still until I get to see them again, first baby for us!
