@SarahAndQuack Sorry to hear about the continued ineptitude and sheer callousness of the clinic. Just so unnecessary. Hope you're feeling a bit better.

@dubkitten That outfit... 💕 She's so cute!
@CloudyIvy55 Did you do much in your garden? I walked to the top of mine this morning and quickly went back in again. I love gardening but think I'll have to get someone to do a tidy up as I've been neglecting it lately and my allotment which I must get to.
@pastelheart It's quite a shock how fast the bump grows isn't it?! I thought I'd found my old maternity support belt earlier and could not figure out why it wouldn't fit then realized it was my husband's thigh support from when he had a bad leg 😂 I've ordered a new support belt though as I'm massive already and only half way eek! I have a shortish torso so it protrudes so much. Hope you had a lovely meal.
@Nosejug What a beautiful view, it's stunning. Enjoy! Was sunny here today as well as cold. Roll on spring 🌼

Av had the weirdest thing happen today .. been on and off all day .. it’s like a nerve under my lip /right side of face.. above chin but under lip, and when the nerve twitches it feels like it’s pulling my lip down with it .. very strange .. anyways just thought it is probably a random nerve like when your eye twitches .. but it’s been on and off all day, a little more now av lay down in bed .. so I google it and seemingly it can be a thing in pregnancy that you can develop Bell’s palsy which is a face droop on one side and can be linked to pre eclampsia?! I checked my blood pressure but it’s fine 120/78 .. but if it’s still happening tomorrow I’ll mention to midwife.. so strange and don’t know if am overthinking /over paranoid (I am a worrier anyways) but it’s a really strange feeling av been getting all day ! 🤔 av also started snoring the last few nights so my partner has informed me, av never snored before .. this can also be linked to pre eclampsia if it’s starts in pregnancy.. again could be nothing but worth mentioning to midwife I think ?!

Sara237 · 15/02/2026 07:53

@AmberRose26 How is it today? I've not heard of that but will now be googling! Definitely worth mentioning to midwife and see what they say. Good your blood pressure is normal because that's a key indicator for pre eclampsia too isn't it? Could sleeping in different positions link to sudden snoring too? Hope all is well, let us know what midwife says. Xx

AmberRose26 · 15/02/2026 09:07

Started doing it again this morning .. it’s so strange .. it’s just a random gentle twitching /pulling between my lip and chin .. yeh I’ll call today and let you know .. I do wear a tooth guard on my lower teeth as a grind my teeth in my sleep .. but I have been wearing one for years .. google does say bad fitted braces could cause nerves to twitch so incase it’s the mouth guard I’ll not use it for a few days and see if that helps ? I am a side sleeper, always been, so not changed sleeping position? It’s the weirdest thing as it just comes and goes in voluntary 🤔 thanks

pastelheart · 15/02/2026 15:24

@Sara237 😂😂😂😂 ahahaha that’s so funny

meal was lovely thank you! Me and my partner usually love going out for steak but I have my steak very very rare so it’s interesting me trying to find something else on the menu as I refuse to have my steak cooked anymore so obvs can’t have it! So I have been trying lots of new things recently.

@AmberRose26 I think it’s deffo worth mentioning. Do you take magnesium? Magnesium can be good for muscle relaxing etc so that could help once you have it checked if it’s just muscle spasm. My partner always says I snore… I don’t I just breath loudly (actually serious I’m not just saying that lol) but he snores so bad sometimes and I will go to the spare bedroom and I say it’s because I was uncomfortable but it’s because he snores mainly lol 😂 xx

AmberRose26 · 15/02/2026 15:40

I called the midwife who was really nice and reassured me it’s prob not pregnancy related as my blood pressure was fine, no sore head etc or signs on pre eclampsia, so just said if it’s still happing tomorrow she suggested I contact my GP, it’s still happening on and off so strange so ill contact my GP tomorrow, @pastelheart i just take my multivitamin (the pregnancy wild nutrition) but I read up potassium can help so I have had two bananas 😝and made a pot of lentil and potato /broccoli soup ..(which I make every week anyways) they are all high in the electrolyte potassium, it’s just such a weird thing to happen that’s never happened before to me 🤔.. maybes it’s just another one of them random pregnancy things that happen, I had a weird itchy rash from 5 weeks which eventually just went away I just put it down to hormones 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

hope everyone is having a nice Sunday, we had snow through the night and I woke up to a lovely snowy garden, went out a walk and it’s raining very heavy now and all the snow is pretty much away 🙄 when will this rain ever stop !! 😏

Nosejug · 15/02/2026 16:49

Aw I wish it snowed here @AmberRose26 ! I just love it. I’ve apparently snored twice this week and haven’t before.. I am also a side sleeper but have found myself tossing and turning more than ever. Maybe it could be to do with diaphragm and lungs, like having to draw harder to get the same amount of air? Absolute pondering and not science there haha. I’m finding I can’t eat my normal meal size without feeling badly full, so I imagine my stomach is being squished! Also started needing a rest at the top of the stairs lol. oh and itching itching hives, but I’m well versed in that!

AmberRose26 · 15/02/2026 20:45

Ha .. pregnancy sure has some strange symptoms huh ! 😝.. I feel I have a more stuffy nose /nasal drip and glut which could be causing me to snore .. and I just got rid of Covid so that might have contributed, was thinking about the chin twitch and google if asprin can cause this and seemingly a side effect of asprin can be muscle spasms/twitching so it could be the asprin I am on ? Might discuss dropping my dose when I am next in to see midwife if the twitch thing continues.

Sara237 · 16/02/2026 05:14

@AmberRose26 What dose of aspirin are you on? I'm 1 x 75mg a day, didn't know about the link to twitching.. interesting! My symptom is itchiness ATM. Itchy legs, back...never had such dry skin.
@Nosejug I hear you re the top of stairs rest. Work requires me to go up and down 4 flights of stairs and it's so hard. To think I used to lunge up them! Does anything help with the itching?

Went swimming yesterday for first time since pregnant, it was the most comfortable and relaxed I've felt in ages!

FancyGoose · 16/02/2026 07:59

@SarahAndQuack sorry your clinic has been so heartless. You should give them some feedback when/if you feel up to it. To them it's just transactional but to us there is so much hope and emotion attached to these embryos.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. The sun was shining saturday here too. Went on a dog walk with my other half but he told me I wasn't allowed to come anymore as I am too slow now 🤣

I was also brave yesterday and bit the bullet and ordered all the baby stuff. Someone in my antenatal class had her baby unexpectedly at 36 weeks so made me think I really do need to get organised (I am 34 weeks) as you never can know! It does feel quite exciting to have done it although I still have the fear and feel a bit like I am jinxing things, which I know is silly!

SarahAndQuack · 16/02/2026 09:16

Good morning! I'm so glad there's a bit of sun here today. We're in half term and I was dreading a week of grey.

@dubkitten what a gorgeous photo! That is really giving me hope - you forget how lovely and snuggly they are.

I had lots of cuddles with my niece this weekend and it was just great. She is sleeping (DD did not sleep properly for years) and just so sweet. I really loved the toddler stage and it was such a good reminder.

@AmberRose26, sorry to hear you had such a stressful weekend! It sounds horrible. I am on 150mg of aspirin and I do get twitchy legs, but that's the only symptom. Really good that your midwife is on the ball and looking after you, though.

Thanks all for sympathising about the clinic. I did put in a complaint months ago; their reply was basically 'well we kept fucking up but it was someone else's fault really'. At some point I will get my energy together and complain to someone higher up because it really shouldn't happen to someone else. I do think it's shocking how a very small number of people working in IVF are really callous - but lots aren't, I know. My friend just had her IVF baby and her clinic have been amazing. So I am just keeping my chin up.

I have no gardening this week (too wet; I'll damage my clients' gardens), but I might get out in mine which is very neglected. One tiny hint of sun and I start thinking about summer and sitting out there with the sweet peas. Grin In reality I'll probably be inside washing endless muslins, but there we go!

It's weird ... suddenly all feels a bit real here! I think it's having 24 weeks vaguely in sight. Grin

SarahAndQuack · 16/02/2026 09:17

Ooh, and @FancyGoose, yay for ordering baby stuff! It'll be so lovely to unpack it all.

I booked my NCT course and felt a bit the same - OMG, it's real! I was shamed into it because the site had lots of 'this course ends too close to due date' warnings or 'last places left'. Grin

AmberRose26 · 16/02/2026 12:12

@Sara237 150mg a day .. so I could drop to 75mg, but … so far today it hasn’t happened .. so hopefully it’s gone .. I feel a bit daft now for worrying over it 🙄 but it was really weird and lasted 48 hours (if it doesn’t come bk) and my right side lip was pulled downward with the nerve twitch as I could see it in the mirror, was a bit scary wondering what was going on. 🤔

@FancyGoose so exciting you have bought some stuff .. hopefully this weekend we will start buying a few bits. It’s 100% natural to feel that way, completely understand this. It’s believing it’s all real, and for me I feel I will only let myself believe it properly when I am holding my baby, and by then I’ll feel like I have missed my whole pregnancy by not really connecting to it so much as it’s scary to believe it fully as there’s still a niggle in the back of my mind that it can all be taken away again .. at lest our 20 weeks scan is this week .. da da .. the week has finally arrived .. albeit it’s the end of the week but only a few days to go now ✨🙏🤞🏽.. feels like a life time ago my last scan 😅
@SarahAndQuack thats interesting you get twitching in your legs, is it an every day thing? I guess it could defo be aspirin related then? Hope it doesn’t hinder or annoy you too much 💛

someone was asking about itching .. when I had my itchy rash (all over legs /arms /torso and chest /belly) i bought some nettle cream .. it is all natural ingredients and it calmed down the spots and itch within a few days it cleared up.. nettle is a natural antihistamine, I can share the link incase you were interested.. it is a bit pricey but it did really work for me. The website is called ‘The wild nettle co’

This feeling is totally normal - I was the same until she was here. It’s one of the downsides to IVF, we can never relax and fully enjoy /embrace our pregnancy

magpie234 · 16/02/2026 13:36

@FancyGoose I also relate! Have ordered the big things but have stalled… need to do the same as you and bite the bullet soon though as am nearly 30 weeks now. Our nursery is being decorated today 😊

AmberRose26 · 16/02/2026 14:46

@magpie234 awh I am sure you are looking forward to your nursery being decorated, do you know the gender of baby ? Are you going pink or blue ? Or what colours are you thinking? We are having a girl so I have been looking on Pinterest at different themes etc and I love the natural themes - wicker baskets for storage etc and maybes two walls a rose pink and leave the other two white so it’s not too girly pink, just splash’s of pinks here and there, we have laminate on the floor so was looking at big rugs, or can get big ‘play mats’ they are called and they are wipe clean material so that might be good in the middle of the floor so if she wants to paint etc when she is a bit older it’s easy clean 😅

magpie234 · 16/02/2026 15:23

@AmberRose26 So fun! That plan sounds lovely - and similar to mine. Girl here too. Have gone for warm white walls but with a little blush pink fireplace. The theme I am running with is Whimsical Joy! So rainbows… scallops… hot air balloons… bears… clouds… fairies… all of that kind of stuff! In pastel colours.

zirafica · 16/02/2026 16:21

@AmberRose26 omg what! Did you have a rash?? I just broke into one about a week ago! It’s luckily not itchy but it’s definitely spreading. Went to the dr this morning and she said it was pityriasis rosea which is apparently super common in pregnancy and that there’s nothing I can do except wait a few months (!!!) for it to clear up naturally?! Tell me more about yours I would be very grateful for something that would speed up it going away!

MintOwl · 16/02/2026 21:57

Nursery decor sounds lovely!

Pleased the symptoms have eased @AmberRose26. I know a couple of people who’ve had non-pregnancy-related Bell’s palsy and I think it cleared up after about a week, not sure if they took medication for it.

am I right in thinking others on here have had pelvic girdle pain? I have generally felt pretty good up until now and then suddenly started to feel persistent lower back pain last week (at 26/27 weeks). I feel fine when sitting or standing still / lying down, but as soon as I start walking it’s really painful. I have a physio appt booked this week so hoping I can do something about it but worried that this may be it until the baby arrives. Finding it pretty dispiriting having to psyche myself up to move anywhere!

FancyGoose · 17/02/2026 09:02

So nice to hear that the fear of buying stuff is totally normal and most of you have/are feeling that way.

Is anyone doing a CS considering having the screen lowered for the birth part? I am thinking about it but want to know how graphic it is!

@AmberRose26 @magpie234 nurseries sound lovely. I'm not going to do the nursery for a little while as baby will be in with us anyway but nice to hear what other people are going for.

@AmberRose26 has the twitching gone now? I am on aspirin but not noticed any symptoms.

@MintOwl PGP sounfs awful. I have escaped it so far! Hope the physio helps though
