Just back from the GP appointment and they are sending me to the hospital with suspected pre-eclampsia

Oh no hope everything is ok - always best to get checked, is it because of high blood pressure?

Yea she said my pressure was high and had protein in my urine so told me I had to go to Maternity in case it was pre-eclampsia. Just back and all good, they said pressure is fine and no protein. Got to see the baby and they even gave us a wave 👋🏻

dubkitten · 21/08/2025 15:31

Just to add they think it is a stomach bug

Moosey898 · 21/08/2025 18:14

@dubkitten oh thank goodness! It's so worrying whilst you're waiting for confirmation isn't it. I'm so glad all is ok.

Yea it was the demeanour of the GP that had me worried. She looked worried and kept saying my blood pressure was very high. It was 142, hospitals said anything of 140 is elevated but they are usually not concerned until it gets to about 160-190. Was 135 when hospital took and and had gone down to 125 by the time I left

GPs can be over cautious, but I guess always better that way! Just pleased you're ok and got the all clear x

Yea it’s a relief and was good to see the baby as my big scan isn’t for another two weeks.

I am currently on two weeks annual leave and due to go back Monday. GP gave me a cert for next week but it’s month end so my busiest time of the month so I will defo take Monday and Tuesday off and then see how I feel

Jadeypie · 24/08/2025 10:30

How's everyone feeling? Doing?

My back and belly ACHES!! Im feeling good sickness wise. Still asleep before 8 every night haha and forever eating crap 🤣 xxx

PinkSprinkleFairy · 24/08/2025 10:35

I’m aching too, back and front!! Feeling very large today and puffed out😮‍💨

Sunshinemoom · 24/08/2025 10:45

Not sure if I’m being over cautious but not sure whether I should call triage. We’ve been away for bank holiday but I haven’t really felt baby kick. We have been non stop so put it down to that I haven’t noticed. But thinking when I’m home later to call triage to see what they suggest. Is that a good idea?

Yeah give them a call. Like you say is probably because you've been busy and not noticed but my midwife said to always call if you are concerned and get checked over, if nothing else will be peace of mind x

Anyone else not sure if they have felt any movement yet? I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and don't think I've felt anything....I know I have an anterior placenta but would be so much less stressful if I could feel something!

17 weeks with my second and I think I’m getting slight flutters but could also be gas as I am very gassy! I have an anterior placenta again too as I did with my first. Didn’t feel him until 22 weeks so really hoping it’s sooner this time!

We’ve got a 2 hour journey home. So will give them a call when I’m closer to home and see what they say xx

TigerLily38 · 24/08/2025 13:43

So glad you ladies have posted here about how you're feeling - I'm the same and was getting worried but looks like some aches and pains are normal! 😊

I'll be 19 weeks on Tuesday, and this past week I've had some mild pain on my right lower tummy and pain down my right leg and my back. I woke up today and my bump was lopsided - huge ball on the right where I could literally see where baby was! Freaked me out a bit at first lol but must be where baby is sitting, and sort of explains why Ive had some slight pain/discomfort on that side...

Has anyone else had this/know if its normal? I haven't felt loads of movement yet, the odd little twitch sometimes but nothing consistent so just really hope they're ok in there 🥲 x

Jadeypie · 24/08/2025 14:10

You've just explained me even down to the right side!! I always wake up with lopsided bump first thing where baby is i love it now ha it did freak me out at first! Also the pains down my leg and hip think that's when baby is messing around or lying on a ligament funny. Just had a scan on wed when I had been having those pains and baby was ACTIVE so I've put it down to that xx

@Sunshinemoom always get checked out when you feel like that. But ive had a few moments when ive thought oh baby's not been moving and it has been because I've been so busy and not noticed xxx

Due 24 January! Second baby, DD is 15 and this pregnancy is wildly different. I'm sick all of the time, HG doesn't let up and I'm so tired. Private gender scan shows another little girl, so excited. I've been offered a planned C-section because I had preeclampsia and episiotomy last time.

Just on the movement - I had a scan on Thursday at 19w and baby was moving like crazy and I couldn’t feel any of it so may be just too early depending on how far along you all are. I have been getting what I can only describe as little popping sensations in my stomach every now and then which I am assuming is some movement 🤷‍♀️

Moosey898 · 24/08/2025 15:40

Just had discharge with red blood streaks in it...I'm freaking out.... My scan is Wednesday anyway, and realistically if something is wrong now they won't be able to do anything about it and I've already been into triage once this week! I don't know what to do 😭

I would go to be on the safe side. It could just be some spotting

Ueh thats movement im nearly 22 weeks now and its like full blown movement with a little pattern starting. My placenta is at the back so think thats why I can really feel mine. You'll soon be feeling those rib jabs hahah xx

Nope. But I did do quite a vigorous gym session this morning, if that could cause it?
