I'm struggling so badly with anxiety currently. Got a call with the specialist post traumatic stress pregnancy team tomorrow (who knew such a thing existed!). I have no bump, no movement. I'm 20 weeks Thurs and just feel like it's not real or will go wrong any second. I hate pregnancy after so many losses 😥

So sorry to read this. I know exactly where you’re coming from (this TTC journey comprised of 3 years, 2 MCs and at least one CP). This is number 3 for me so I’m definitely bumpy at 16+5, but I haven’t felt any movements yet. My other two had anterior placentas so I was never able to feel much, so was fervently hoping this one might be posterior! I have a MW appt tomorrow, so if I’m lucky she might get the Doppler out, but I know that’s not a given at the 16 week one. This period when waiting for the anomaly scan is so tricky.

dubkitten · 18/08/2025 09:22

Yea that’s a good idea!

Only way I can survive without being sick first thing

WildFinch · 18/08/2025 09:55

Catching up with everyone's news. Exciting to hear people finding out the sex. We'll definitely ask at the anomaly scan but means I have to wait until 5 September. We've agreed no more private scans before then as we had lots of early NHS ones and a couple a few weeks ago when they were checking my cervix. @curliegirlie I had my midwife appointment last week at 15+5 and she offered the Doppler, I declined as I know I'd worry too much if she couldn't find the heartbeat after having a MMC. I sort of regret it now but trying to stay positive all is ok.
@Moosey898 sorry you're struggling, really glad you've got the appointment with the PTSD team, hopefully they help.

I'm only 16+4 but not feeling any movement, symptoms are easing and I don't have a bump just a flabbier belly! It's very hard trusting that things are growing in there. I know my placenta is posterior though so hoping I feel something in a few weeks.

Moosey898 · 18/08/2025 10:29

Thanks everyone. I know I have an anterior placenta which doesn't help matters. Also whilst it's my 5th pregnancy the rest were losses between 8-11 weeks therefore the lack of bump is expected but not helpful! I contacted my midwife to see if she can come this week to do a doppler check. My 20 week scan is next weds (when I'll be 20+6). Feels so far away still! Really appreciate all your kind words and support, it means a lot in a time when I feel very alone in my struggles as no one in my close circle has been through what I have and it's hard to explain xx

I am finding it so hard to get comfortable at night especially if I lie on my left which is my usual sleeping position. Have ordered a maternity pillow so we see if that helps, but if it’s this uncomfortable already I’m dreading when I get bigger!

I think I may have felt a movement last night, was like a little popping but could have imagined it 🙈😂

Aww sorry to see your feeling like this. It really is a struggle being pregnant after loss. I think that will be the case till little one is here. Its sad how losses rob the innocent of pregnancy 😪 I understand the struggle. I know some people say dont use them but would having your own Doppler be any good for your anxiety or do you think thay would make it worse? When was your last scan. I have had two scans between 16 and my 20 one so thats helped my anxiety loads xxxx

Jadeypie · 18/08/2025 12:06

Has anyone with other children found a change in their child's behaviour since becoming pregnant?

My sons my little bestie, always been a mummy's boy and loves to tell me on a daily im his sweetheart and bestfriend ( hes such a sweet talker hahs) anyway ive noticed the last few weeks hes become even more clingy then usual. Constantly says he misses me or he will miss me if he goes to nursery ect. Never wants to go out with grandparents anymore because he will miss me. Wants to just stay in and have family time he says. He also says he has a sore belly when he doesnt want to do somtging or go somewhere this is 100% fibs and ive explained he crnt be pretending to have sore belly's just because he doesnt want to go anywhere ect. This week hes decided to be a bloody pain over food which is driving me mad suddenly he doesn't like all his usual meals. But would happle eat biscutes and crap so they have been banned.

Hes always been a sensitive soul and emotional and such a angel. Its got to be im pregnant??? Or is this a 4½ year old phase like all the bloody rest hahaha xxx

@Moosey898 sorry to hear you’re struggling. Pregnancy after loss is so hard. All my losses were 10 weeks and earlier but I still struggle with negative thoughts too. So bitter about loss robbing me of being able to enjoy pregnancy. You’re not alone, I hope your appointment helps x

I think it would make it worse... The idea of not being able to find a heartbeat and panicking about it on my own...
Last scan was 16 weeks, next is at nearly 21 weeks. I'd love to have more but trying to save money as if all goes well I won't qualify for maternity pay from January.

Thank you - it's so hard isn't it. I'm so jealous of people who get to be fully excited about being pregnant.

Yeh I do too but seen it helps some people. And the wait is just ridiculous i think it should be standard to have one in between if you've had losses. Totally agree with the private ones. Ive refused to pay for them even tho I've really been tempted at times xxx

I’m the same. I had one at 12 weeks and next one is scheduled for 21 weeks - such a long wait. I keep weighing up the idea of going for a private one but that money could be put off baby stuff.

I feel so ill today. I though when the nausea finally went at 15w that would be the end of it but no, decided to reappear at 18w and bring the vomiting with it which I didn’t have before

MEW15 · 19/08/2025 12:45

Hey I'm due mid Feb but due to risks will be having baby at 37weeks which makes it a Jan baby!

How are you feeling today? This happened to me around 12 with vomiting for a few weeks. Its gone again now apart from random food triggers but otherwise im fine so hopefully this will pass for you xx x

Sunshinemoom · 19/08/2025 14:48

Does anyone have any information on the RVS jab? I keep meaning to ask my midwife then I forget. It wasn’t around when I had my son

I got information on vaccines when I met my midwife last week. Flu vaccine you can have anytime but she recommended September so I'm covered for peak flu season. Whooping cough between 16-34 weeks.
RSV between 28-34 weeks. Ideally as early as possible to maximise benefit to baby.
I made an appointment at my local hospital to have flu and whooping cough together in late September and I'll do RSV later.

Moosey898 · 19/08/2025 17:42

Think I've got round ligament pains - sharp on off cramps right down in my inner hip/low low abdomen area.... Not sure if they are that or not though. When would you call the midwife helpline or not? I don't want to be a pain...

Thank you for letting me know. I’ve got my whooping cough booked in for next Friday and my flu jab September was just unsure about RSV one just knew it was around 28 weeks x

Thanks for asking - nausea still quite strong but no vomiting today thankfully. Also have bad heartburn today. I reckon I just have to come to terms with the fact my body doesn’t like being pregnant 😂😂

I got my whooping cough today and will get my flu and Covid injections in October as we get these in work for free. I haven’t heard of RVS jab so may not be a thing here.

Are they constant? I thought round ligament pain was a short sharp pain when you move suddenly but could be wrong. Also look up pelvic girdle pain and see if it could be that

I've had this all day today on and off too, as well as what feels like vvv light cramping low down at the sides...hoping this is normal as my anxiety is so bad at the moment 😢😢😢 x

If it makes your feel any better…I was sick in a garage forecourt this morning…delightful.

@dubkitten shooting type pains, but on and off for quite some time.... it's so hard when you have no clue how it's meant to feel or not!

@TigerLily38 we're in the same boat anxiety wise - it's so hard isn't it.
