My DD used to get hiccups several times a day when I was pregnant with her, and I was advised it was absolutely fine (though I find the sensation unpleasant!). She also got them a lot in the first few weeks after she was born. I’m sure all is fine ❤️

Thanks!
I know they say not to count hiccups as movements/in their pattern, so I assumed it was fine.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 13/04/2025 10:01

@Beccaa123 normal for all my babies just a strange sensation. Just don't count them as movement like you do a kick, swirl etc.

BrightGoose · 13/04/2025 10:01

All three of mine got very frequent hiccups it is an odd sensation.

how is everyone’s bloods recently if you’ve had them done? my haemaglobin in 10.8 and I’m really struggling with feeling out of breath teamed up with being so uncomfortable when eating I just feel really full all the time I would happily not eat for feeling so awful after but obviously that’s not a thing.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 13/04/2025 10:04

@BrightGoose haven't had mine checked for a few weeks. But I'm due some. Once bump drops you may get a bit of apitite back. 🤞🏻

BrightGoose · 13/04/2025 10:15

Yes that’s what I’m expecting I’ve only put on half a stone since the middle of January I no I need to eat more but I physically can’t. I need to get nuts and hummus try and get some iron and calories in at the same time.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 13/04/2025 10:43

@BrightGoose I know I have only lost weight. I'm basically all bump now. Can barely take my meds let alone vitamins. Eggs are good, scrambled egg maybe with some smoked salmon? Or jacket potato cheese beans but a kids portions?

Rainbowsunshine81 · 13/04/2025 11:18

@BrightGoose I think I got told my haemoglobin levels were ok. I too have felt out of breath at times, but I think that's because where the baby is positioned. I do find I get full quickly when eating.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 13/04/2025 11:21

@Beccaa123 I'm pretty sure I've felt hiccups low down, they last for a little while and then stop. It does felt strange when it happens.

Have you had your iron levels checked?

WildWhirlwind · 13/04/2025 11:26

Thanks for your reply a few days ago, @BrightGoose.

Has anyone had an ECV? Has anyone delivered a breech baby vaginally?

Also struggling with eating (hate feeling full at the best of times). Just lost my appetite and a bit scarred from all the nausea and acid reflux! 😥

BrightGoose · 13/04/2025 11:54

They didn’t check my ferritin just my HB levels and liver function due to OC monitoring. HB at booking was 127 then dropped to 116 and is now 108 the cut off for iron supplements is 105 unless symptomatic or ferritin levels are low. When I rang for the results the midwife said I need to get my iron stores (ferritin and b12) checked now but I’m not being seen until the 30th so I think I’ll have to ring this week especially if I continue to feel how I do. I’m little anyway so just fitting it in all is such chore.

movements are also painful now baby is getting big 😂 sometimes after a big wriggle I feel bruised but I do love her wriggles and I will defo miss the kicks when she’s here it’s the best thing about being pregnant

My first 2 were both born breech vaginally (planned) ❤️ Tried ECV with both but it didn't work, they just wouldn't turn. Is this your first? This one (my 3rd) was also breech until beginning of this week 🥳 So hoping I can make it another week or 2 head down then there's less chance of them moving back to being breech again 🤞 Let me know if you have any questions, i'll do my best to help where I can ❤️

Toothfairy0113 · 13/04/2025 12:19

I'm feeling SO full SO quickly and also feel awful after eating. Constant nasty taste in my mouth came back as soon as I hit 3rd trimester (which started 1st trimester and eased off a bit mid 2nd) which is just 🤢 Still off quite alot of stuff too x

Poster57 · 13/04/2025 12:26

Is anyone else feeling quite emotional? I’m 37 weeks now and feeling like I cry at anything. I don’t think it helps that they’ve only just done my gestational diabetes test and it flung my blood sugar everywhere for a couple of days.

Beccaa123 · 13/04/2025 12:37

@BrightGoose hopefully they can check sooner, I had my ferritin checked and it was down at 6 😬 Mine got checked because my heart rate is getting high doing nothing.
@Poster57 I am(not every day) I am crying watching game shows when contestants get put out 😂

Poster57 · 13/04/2025 12:48

@Beccaa123 ha yes this - random things. I’m so glad to be stopping for mat leave as I feel like I’m not coping with normal life right now. My stress levels are probably higher than they should be too. I’m very unorganised but frustratingly slow at trying to get anything done 🙈

We are pretty organised, I haven't packed a bag yet, and for some reason don't want to even though I know I need to.
Do you have gestational diabetes?

We bit off more than we could chew and thought it would be a great idea to sort out more of the house when doing the nursery etc. unfortunately it was maybe not the best decision. Don’t have anything down from the loft yet although thankfully do have it all as our youngest is not long 3 so it’s just like trying to battle through the jungle to get the house into some semblance of normality before getting everything else set up for baby. It’s starting to sound like I’ll be induced early for size so that’s put a bit more pressure on. No gestational diabetes, thankfully the test seems to have come back saying that I don’t have it so that’s a positive ☺️

the hospital bag is quite a thought isn’t it! I have my case looked out but nothing in it yet!

Ah! At least you have everything in the house! This is our first, she was a bit of a surprise, so had to buy everything!
Have they said when? I'm being induced at 38 weeks, she's about 2 and a bit weeks ahead, I do have gestational diabetes though.

Poster57 · 13/04/2025 13:27

@Beccaa123 what a lovely surprise ☺️ shopping for a baby when you’ve not got anything yet is such fun as well. This is our 3rd so part of our problem is time to organise anything. We have two very excited children though 🥰

I think I’m measuring nearly 4 weeks ahead. I’ve always had big babies which if you saw me you’d wonder why because I’m 5’1 and quite petite. My husband is average height so there’s obviously some genetics coming into it from somewhere. They’ve said they’ll scan me again at 38 weeks and decide what to do. I have a feeling they might not induce me until 39 but that’s only 2 weeks away really. I do keep hoping I go into labour naturally with this one - I’ve always been induced (post 40 weeks with the other 2) and I’d love to experience just going into labour without the intervention

Rainbowsunshine81 · 13/04/2025 14:52

I've got my hospital bag list and list for baby's bag, but haven't packed them yet, I'm definitely going to make a start on them.
I have been feeling emotional at times and meeting a new little person soon 🥰

TheBeesKnee · 13/04/2025 18:33

I think I've reached a new milestone today: barely got my socks on by myself, think I might need help as early as tomorrow 🫠

I'm 36+3 and officially feel fed up of pregnancy. I don't think I reached this mental state with DC1!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 13/04/2025 20:15

@TheBeesKnee I've been like that for a while, need help with socks, putting leggings on and my poor mum was cutting my toe nails the other day and one of them flew up and got her in the face 🙈 and she had put some nail polish on as well.

AutumnalPuffin · 14/04/2025 06:22

@BrightGoose Id definitely push for iron tablets: my Hb was 107 but I was just so tired but after week of iron tablets I felt so much better and was able to walk as far as normal without wishing for a bus.

Im feeling quite sad at the moment: I’m 35 weeks and have had a sudden jump to the 97th centile so am having a repeat of the oral glucose tolerance test this morning and a further growth scan at 38 weeks with the provisional advice that I have a caesarean. I had just hoped for a natural delivery because I’m worried about the recovery with a newborn baby and an active three year old.

BrightGoose · 14/04/2025 06:34

@AutumnalPuffin thanks for your reply I will defo push for more bloods and iron tablets.

aww that must be frustrating can you ask for an induction rather than a section? I really want a vaginal delivery as I have two other children (both by c sections) and I am really pushing them to let me have a trail of labour even to the point I want to be induced rather than a section, I am just so heeled and my son has additional needs I want to be able to at least try, I due to see a consultant at the end of the month regarding it.
