Hi everyone! I've not posted for a while. 26 weeks today. Requested an earlier midwife appointment last week (not due to be seen until 28 weeks after my 16 week check) as I suspected I might be anaemic.. Got result today and I am 😩 So will be starting iron supplements tomorrow, fingers crossed they kick in quickly coz I feel deathly!

Had a glucose tolerance test today too and results for that should be back by Wednesday, fingers crossed I don't get the dreaded call 🤞

My other 2 pregnancies were both breech deliveries so was asking midwife if they'll be monitoring for it/will send me for an extra scan, she said no unless the midwife feels baby is breech when she examines me but was told 1st was head down all the way until I was sent for an extra scan for something else and she was actually found to be breech inicidentally 🤦‍♀️ I was put straight under consulant care for it with my 2nd to keep an eye and she was too 😅 Hoping 3rd time lucky this one won't be!

Sorry, bit of a long update!!

Hope everyone's doing ok ❤️

Hey all. So… norovirus! How many of you have been affected by the current high numbers of infections. I’m 28 weeks and have been struck down by it today. Gosh it’s miserable!

microwoods · 10/02/2025 16:51

@Poster57 urgh bless you! I had it mid January. It was awful. It made its way through our house and our toddler started with it in the middle of the night. It was like something from the exorcist! Hope you're feeling better soon x

Poster57 · 10/02/2025 17:00

@microwoods thank you. It’s horrible isn’t it. My youngest has had it over the weekend. Couldn’t quite believe it as she got it 10 days ago as well. She wasn’t awful with it, I’m horrific though. On the verge of phoning the hospital as can’t keep the slightest drop of fluid down 😢 ice lollies are my last ditch attempt before lifting that phone

SnakebitesandSambucas · 10/02/2025 17:44

Had it just before Xmas. Along with the kids. 🤢😷🤕. Just about managed to avoid the A&E. But do go in if you feel you need to. Wish I had but the kids were sick and I couldn't leave them.

Poster57 · 10/02/2025 18:20

@SnakebitesandSambucas its so hard trying to juggle isn’t it. Nothing like feeling this rough and then having a bit of mum guilt mixed in 😭

BodeAkuna · 10/02/2025 19:34

You have my sympathy everyone who has had noro in pregnancy- I can't even cope with it when I'm not pregnant!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 10/02/2025 19:47

I think it's almost like auto pilot. Tbh I just lay in bed for the 4 days after. I couldn't barely move I was so exhausted!! Nearly at my third trimester!! So excited started that nesting mode!

I’m very much hoping that both my kids will be back at nursery tomorrow and I can just lie in bed all day 🙈 Minor issue but I miss lying on my back or tummy more at times like this.

Today was my welcome to the third trimester. I must start thinking about getting organised! A car big enough for 3 rear facing is the priority at the moment and time is running away!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 10/02/2025 21:30

Yeah mine have both grown out of rear facing and into forward facing seats. Switch my eldest into the front ( he's nearly as tall as me). And I will be in back with baby car seat and my youngest ( well youngest now!) got too admit having mine in school has helped with my energy levels and HG. Still exhausting and having a nap if needed but it does make it easier! Do they go full time?

Poster57 · 10/02/2025 22:00

@SnakebitesandSambucas nearly, there’s just one day they don’t go. It does make a huge difference (when they’re there at least 😂)

BrightGoose · 11/02/2025 06:52

Anyone suffering with leg cramps? I do 12 hour shifts and after my work days my legs cramp up so much over night… it’s a lot worse on the days I work.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 11/02/2025 08:06

@BrightGoose no leg cramps for me. But bad sciatica on my right side. Getting up of the floor is an interesting look 😁

Poster57 · 11/02/2025 08:13

@BrightGoose yes to leg cramps. I’ve always had them terribly later in pregnancy. Funnily enough also bad sciatica though - left hip for me 🙈😂

Rainbowsunshine81 · 11/02/2025 08:54

I have leg cramps in both legs, not all the time, usually in bed.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 11/02/2025 11:31

Anyone else just bursting into tears! I'm a hormonal mess battling to try and get my meds! Along with sciatica pain. Not a good day today. Just want to crawl back into bed!

LeBonBon · 11/02/2025 11:57

@BrightGoose I've had one incident of leg cramps but it was the worst I've ever experienced - my right calf was huge and it was so painful 😖

I'm being monitored with extra growth scans as at 26w they discovered my baby was only measuring on the 3.5 centile. My DD (2) was born on the 2 centile so I definitely make small babies.

Was hoping for a VBAC this time but it's likely I'll be under pressure to deliver early again so this one might be an April baby after all!

showersandflowers · 11/02/2025 12:08

Anyone have a bit of bump blindness? I'm 27 weeks today but I think I'm in denial about the size of my stomach and think I'm much smaller than I am and that people won't notice.. then I'm a bit confused when they do!

BrightGoose · 11/02/2025 12:36

my Bump sticks out so much but you can still see my hips it’s quiet funny just like a round ball in front of me. I think I’ve only put on 7/8 pounds from when I found out I was pregnant. I know this will increase a lot after 30 weeks especially when I finish work at 32 weeks (using my leave). There is no hiding her anymore just sticking out for the world to see !

aww I hope your growth scans go ok and they keep a close eye on you @LeBonBon

aside from leg cramps, baby bump and CONSTANT braxton hicks I wouldn’t really know I was pregnant. I actually feel well and I am enjoying this pregnancy a lot… which is different from my other two as the first was filled with anxiety and my second came at a hard time for me.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 11/02/2025 12:44

I have a nice bump now but I've only gained 5lbs. Being short means I look like a weeble 😊. I was overweight to start with and lost nearly 2 stone. But gained after my operations. @LeBonBon hope it works well for you. My scan on my boy showed small femurs and little legs. And he's nearly as tall as me at 9yrs old!

BrightGoose · 11/02/2025 13:23

I’m only 5ft 3 too the most annoying thing about being short is all maternity trousers are far to long and they do not do a short maternity range 😑

SnakebitesandSambucas · 11/02/2025 13:30

@BrightGoose I am 5.1! Lol those extra inches make a difference! I've given up on trousers.

I had this terribly in my first pregnancy. I was delusional and thought that I just looked like I'd had a big lunch. I did not.

This time I'm not blind but delusional about my energy levels and capabilities!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 11/02/2025 14:34

I'm a bit like that with my bump, seems to be high up, like roundish and then a little bit lower down, had a midwife appointment today and she said the head is in my pelvis, that explains the pressure I can feel down there. I remember my bump was quite high up with my son.

Beccaa123 · 11/02/2025 16:13

I've been getting leg cramps occasionally in bed and they are painful!
I didn't sleep last night as I had the most awful pain in my lower abdomen, so I ended up in the emergency department. Thankfully it's a UTI and baby is fine, but I had no idea that they could be so painful, struggling to get comfortable!
