Hopefully that works!

MyHappyNewt · 08/01/2025 15:20

@OrangeSlices998 congratulations! You must be so relieved that’s she’s here safely ❤️

Redapple21 · 08/01/2025 16:27

Congratulations @OrangeSlices998 🥰🩷 I've also commented on Facebook but as no one knows who anyone is I wanted to congratulate you here too 😂 she's so beautiful xx

Kumquat89 · 08/01/2025 17:08

@Redapple21 😂 we have double identities. Same here then@OrangeSlices998 congratulations. Your daughter is gorgeous. Keep us updated on how you are both doing.

UncharteredWaters · 08/01/2025 18:22

Would a post of when everyone is due be useful?

UrbanSquirrel · 08/01/2025 19:05

Like @Redapple21 and @Kumquat89 I only know who a couple of you are on Facebook and vice versa, and I'm even less sure who is in the London and Surrey WhatsApp group 😆 so I'm going to repeat myself here.

Today I got my C section date at last! 28 January - which feels very close but also means that, touch wood, I will be home on or by my 40th 🎉 🎊 And I had my final prenatal appointment today with my lovely midwife (the others are hospital based). Eek. It is all beginning to feel very real. Not as real as for @OrangeSlices998, of course 😉

But I feel very excited. Less than three weeks to go until we meet MiniSquirrel 🤩 x

@UrbanSquirrel glad you've got your date! Who books you in? Do they give you a date there and then?
X

UrbanSquirrel · 08/01/2025 19:19

@Hhdxx I think every trust probably does this slightly differently, but I missed a call from the Labour Ward yesterday (while dealing with the Ikea delivery 😉) and had to ring back this morning - and she gave me my date over the phone. I'm 36+3 today so I think they wait until 36 weeks just so they have a good overview of the various diaries x

@UrbanSquirrel thanks! I feel like I've still got so much further to go. I'm not due until the very end of Feb.

I'm still freaking out about the uncooked bit of salmon I had on Sunday night. I really get fixated on things. The hospital have reassured me that if I'm feeling well, all will be ok x

elb1504 · 08/01/2025 19:42

@UrbanSquirrel We are C Section date buddies!

I had my pre op today which was with the anesthetist, lots of routine questions, she couldn't seem to grasp why I was having a section (booked if I don't go into labour naturally before then) but it's not really their place to questions it so I just kept saying it's what's been agreed with consultant!

UrbanSquirrel · 08/01/2025 20:05

Oh wow @elb1504 you've already had your pre op? Well there's another example of how they all do things differently. I have to have mine within 48 hours of the section, so that's won't be until 27th (just in case we get pushed back).

Poor you with all the questions from the anaesthetist! You'd have thought that once you get to the pre op stage you'd be safe! 😆 x

My last growth scan is tomorrow 35+4 and was told I may get a date for my induction and do the birth plan. Will they still do this considering they booked me 3 days before 36w?x
This was meant to be my 36w scan

UrbanSquirrel · 08/01/2025 20:07

@Hhdxx Please don't worry about the salmon. If it makes you feel any better, I've (inadvertently) had smoked salmon, very rare beef and extremely pink trout over the course of this pregnancy and it hasn't done me any harm whatsoever 🤗 xxx

I have to go on 27th for pre op bloods but today's was just to run through the anesthetic procedure! They all seem to do it differently!

Hhdxx · 08/01/2025 20:28

@UrbanSquirrel thank you. That is reassuring. I can't stop thinking about it. X

TTCagain85 · 08/01/2025 20:39

@55431go I know right...its so draining. I will endeavour to never comment on my daughters body. I've struggled with years of secret eating due to her comments. Never a complement when I lose weight mind you, only a "I thought you were dieting" when I dared take a biscuit she offered me

Redapple21 · 08/01/2025 21:03

@UrbanSquirrel yaayyy so exciting you have your date and it's before your birthday! Exciting! You're the day before me 😊 same here my pre op is just the day before! 3 weeks today I feel like it's getting close now! Xx

UrbanSquirrel · 08/01/2025 21:05

@apple67cherry It's hard to know how things differ between different trusts but, if this is meant to be your 36 week scan, and they've said to expect discussion of birth plan etc, I'm sure that will still be on the cards. Good luck and let us know how it goes! 🤞🏻 x

@Redapple21 Yes it throws everything into perspective, doesn't it? 😅 I think we're pretty much sorted now - our ready made packs of formula came today, and we have plenty of vests and whatnot, and the Next To Me cot is all set up - but we both feel like we're about to take a leap out of a plane without having any idea what to do on the way down or how to land!!! xxx

Redapple21 · 08/01/2025 21:09

@UrbanSquirrel haha love that analogy! Yes it's totally unknown but somehow you just muddle through 😂 you'll be fine 🥰

UrbanSquirrel · 08/01/2025 21:10

@UncharteredWaters Yes it would be good to revisit when everyone is due, now that we're getting dates formed up. I wonder, is it best to try and collate something here, or to do another poll on the Facebook group, where we might have more chance of keeping everything in the same place?

TTCagain85 · 08/01/2025 22:34

We are also on the countdown! 4wks tomorrow until c-section! So real now....I haven't any nappies or anything yet! I have the next to me cot down from attic from a friend staying in the summer with her baby lol must buy some sheets for it. Have some babygrows and bits, need to buy vests etc!

Freaking out a little seeing some of these early arrivals....worst comes to worst amd I go early,it will be an amazon prime order 😆

Girls seriously, we are all so close!

UrbanSquirrel · 09/01/2025 05:06

@TTCagain85 Amazon Prime is about to become our best friend...! x

Hi ladies! Really pleased some of you have got dates so far :)
I had a bit of a saga yesterday, was in for diabetes clinic which was grand seemed happy I'd only a few elevated readings on diet control but then on my way to antenatal after noticed my largest ever fluid leak 😫 not massive but worst I've ever had, and since it had been so good for so long i was really rolling with maybe PPROM was a false positive.
Was planning on asking for c-section at 39 weeks ~3rd Feb based on likelihood of no PPROM and my husband was coming down to meet me for the antenatal doctor apt to discuss but ofc I got called early and the doctor basically said 'no we aren't waiting' and baby has to come at 37 weeks ~20th Jan. I was so flustered at this point. My husband arrived then and we discussed it all again and I felt like I had to get induction if 37 weeks as better for baby but agreed to retest for PPROM, so had to wait like 4 hours to get gas & air for test as I'm phobic and when it came to it I had to get them to stop before they could finish it as was scared but mostly found it really sore 😓
He said there did seem to be a lot of fluid so assume PPROM. Anyway long story short I retraumatised myself, when I got home really just realised I can't manage an induction process if that's how bad I was with pprom test. Have to wait till next Wed to ask for section date and they said is hard to book in that short notice.

Mood is low, anxious, and feel massively unprepared. Blood sugar ofc went right up after apt!
I don't feel like I've the urge to nest or anything, I've just been feeling stressed really for the last month which ofc is making me feel worse.
Instead of feeling excited I'm just feeling low and anxious and I'm really worried that's going to mean I'll have post partum anxiety/depression and not be good for the baby.
Is anyone else not feeling urge to nest? Is that normal? I know it's related to pregnancy hormones preparing for birth and just wondering if my stress is impacting them!
Sorry for the long post.
