Hey everyone. I can't see a May due date group yet. I am in the April 2025 chat as DD based on LMP puts me due at Apr 15. However I have varying length cycles and think I didn't ovulate until CD 30ish. Guessing I'm actually due May 2nd based off temps. Everyone in the April chat are much further along and hoping to find some people earlier in their pregnancies to chat to :) x

@BlueberryPoppy123 I have a 4yo, so need to try and keep it a secret from him before he blabs and tells everyone 😂😂😂

BlueberryPoppy123 · 30/08/2024 17:24

@Dullblue1234 I've got a 4 year old too. He was born in the April 2020. He would also blab so thinking even once we tell family we might withhold it from him otherwise everyone and their aunts will know 😂

Definitely here with the vivid dreams. I met my PT this morning and I had such weird dreams overnight about meeting her.

Symptoms come and go too. Very tired all the time, dull back and stomach aches like period pains and nausea comes and goes. Plus I get restless legs which is really annoying.

BlueberryPoppy123 · 31/08/2024 03:48

I'm so tired through the day but keep finding sleep so hard at night been awake 2 hours now 😫 desperately trying to go back to sleep but I'm in worry mode something's wrong now. (What else would you do when you can't sleep) Willing myself to get 2 more hours before my alarm goes off for work 😭

It doesn't feel real and I'm trying not to get my hopes up but also excited at the same time. I'll feel better after 12 week scan I think. I don't feel pregnant at all either. I was five weeks when I found out with DC1 and used to beat myself up for not knowing sooner but now I totally get it!

I feel exactly the same way! We had only been trying a month so I really didn't expect to get a positive so early! Then last night I took a test just to check and it was positive. Didn't quite believe it and then got another positive this morning! I'm really scared as this would be our first, and I feel like I don't really know what I'm doing.

@GunesM definitely anxiety keeping me awake. I keep overthinking I'm going to go to my scan Friday and baby won't have a heart beat. Just no strong symptoms has got me worrying I'm kind of willing morning sickness on. I've had bad nausea with all my other pregnancies even my previous miscarriage so seems really odd it's so intermittent barely bothering me. Boobs are just regular pre period sore, just don't feel pregnant. Did another test this morning after finding where my husband moved them too and got a line stealer so made me feel a bit better but now been awake since 2.30am and I'm shattered 😫

İ never had any symptoms in my previous pregnancies either. İ thought i did have with this one but now believe it may be anxiety that pit stomach feeling. How many weeks will you be at your scan? Hope all goes well for you.

Boymama85 · 31/08/2024 14:27

I had really bad symptoms in my last pregnancy so I knew before I tested.
But I tested just in case because I was going on a hen do and it was positive.
I've had no symptoms at all this time (yet).

BlueberryPoppy123 · 31/08/2024 15:22

@GunesM I think I will be 6 weeks exactly going by my dates. Hospital are still set on going on their dates (100% wrong as no way am I 7+4 already 🙈). I just ovulated later but they insist on going off LMP happy to be proven wrong and have baby sooner but highly doubt it 😂😂

Just had a nap and woken up to swollen lips and they're so tingly and hot. I've never had an allergic reaction but it's what I think it is. But obviously went to Dr google and found apparently some women have similar with vitamin deficiency early in pregnancy. Anyone else had this before?

I just feel so blugh today. I go back to work tomorrow after 6 weeks off and I'm continuing my weekend of solo parenting (my partner is a complex carer and works every other weekend). I just feel so flat, short tempered and emotional. I know it's probably a mixture of back to work blues, my DS starts school on Tuesday but I just want to hide back under the duvet and sleep the day away. Instead I have to find the energy to take both kids to soft play and no doubt be made to crawl round it.

Poster57 · 01/09/2024 18:20

@Sunflower2244 days like this are so hard. This was me a couple of days ago They were both off which is usually lovely but honestly it was total mayhem. They both woke early and were wired all day. It’s so triggering having an overwhelming day like that when in the early anxious days of pregnancy. I’m finding the hormones making me quite irritable too.

Hi everyone - please may I join?

This is my first post on mumsnet, discovered yesterday I was pregnant 🥰 (Clearblue says 1-2 weeks so I think that means I am around 3-4 weeks on the NHS scale?)

First ever pregnancy, so excited but absolutely terrifying! I have googled everything I can think of but hoping to learn what I need to do as I go! Google also says apparently miscarriages are very common at this stage, which I never knew, so I am trying to make sure I do everything I can.

So far my priorities seem to be getting a GP appointment so I can get the 5mg folic acid prescribed (my BMI is high), going on a pregnancy multivitamin and then trying to work out what my due date is!

So far no symptoms whatsoever, but I suppose it is far too early!!

looking forward to getting to know everyone x

Dullblue1234 · 01/09/2024 21:19

Hey @BabyCrumble congrats!
The NHS have a due date calculator, where you put in your last period dates and it'll give you a estimated due date.

You can normally self refer to the midwives in your trust, you don't necessarily have to see a GP 😊

I can recommend the Zita West tablets, they do them specifically for each trimester

Thank you so much!

It’s so strange as you’re the first person except my husband who has acknowledged the existence of this creature! 😍🙈

My periods aren’t regular so those calculators confuse me more than anything haha (I was on the coil since I was 19 and as soon as I came off it my periods went haywire!) but it looks like 3 May? Google says you do a dating scan in week 14 so I guess that’s what will confirm!

ah fab - can midwives prescribe too then? Would much prefer that as I try to avoid medical interventions wherever possible (and I know that’s not a good idea when you’re pregnant!)

oh AWESOME - had never even heard of Zita West before!

Dullblue1234 · 01/09/2024 21:43

@BabyCrumble they're not the cheapest.... But the pregnacare made me nauseated 🙈

Yeah usually around 12/13 weeks you have a scan for dating, as well as to check a while host of things.

If you know when you ovulated, that might be a good help in terms of dates. To be honest, I've never heard of the extra folate thing, so I can't help there!

CheshireMummyy · 02/09/2024 07:38

@PeachyTea99 my first was a huge surprise and my second we only tried for a month before falling pregnant like you.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions 🫶🏻 I was terrified my first pregnancy too ❤️

CheshireMummyy · 02/09/2024 07:39

First very strong positive today (ignore the leopard pjs 😂).
Random question, I peed on the window a bit today by accident 😅 that wouldn’t affect it would it?

Edited

Im not an expert but I think if it would affect it it wouldn't give you a false positive - it would give you an invalid one perhaps. Congratulations! 🥰🥰🥰

Congrats and welcome to the club 🥰 I'm in the exact same position- got my BFP last week, I've never been pregnant before, so exciting! And scary! But mainly exciting.
I've got my first date with midwife on 2nd October - I was quite sad to learn it's ages away, I am so impatient.

I am hoping to nip to Boots this afternoon (at work) but they shut at 5 and I haven’t been able to leave my desk at all so that’s a bit of a pain!

I had a spare Clearblue digital test (bought a 2 pack set) and the second one (which I did yesterday evening before bed) says I’m not pregnant so now I am going to have to buy 20 like the other poster and keep testing every morning!!😫 Read on Google that a false positive is quite rare so here’s me keeping my fingers crossed! Who knew pregnancies involved so much drama!? 🙈🙈

Thank you!! Might be a very swift exit again as my BFP was followed by a big fat NEGATIVE and I can’t get to a pharmacy fast enough (no signs of bleeding or anything and only a day between tests so I remain hopeful!)

I’m 100% with you on the fear - I’m scared at the prospect of being pregnant, but also now scared that I might not be!? So confusing arrgh!! 😁😁

Hermione0408 · 02/09/2024 14:58

Hi @BabyCrumble a couple of things that might help with testing, I like boots own brand early response tests, they are great as they show up much clearer being red dye rather than blue. Testing first thing in the morning also gets a stronger line as pee get diluted through the day, that might be why the test last night came out negative for you. Got my fingers crossed for you!! 😊

Vavamum · 02/09/2024 15:17

@BabyCrumble false positive is incredibly rare- you likely got a false negative second time, or at least I hope that for you. Maybe it's because you did it in the evening - if you're very early in your pregnancy it's better to test with your first morning wee. Get yourself to the shops when you can - FIY I found own label £3.50 for x2 just as sensitive as the more expensive ones, fingers crossed for you!
