Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

@TripleESept24 tske s look at the “happycosleeper” instagram, it’s a huge of really helpful and informative information regarding cosleepifn and how to keep it safe. I coslept for 2 years with my first, it saved my sanity as I don’t function well on really broken sleep. It also meant my child got sleep too so it was a win/win!

WinsandSam · 24/09/2024 14:55

@Pineapplefizzz thank you 🙏 I'll have a look at the group. Any tips are appreciated

Also does anyone know when the bleeding ends? I’m almost 4 weeks post section and still no let up

@Emmaev I'm 4 weeks post section and still lightly bleeding every day. Annoying as it's giving me thrush now. My obgyn said it's normal until around 6 weeks.

PinkWatermelon88 · 24/09/2024 20:45

I’d a really awful healing process with my first episiotomy, needed almost 6m of treatment and was so nervous this time around. Baby came so quick Thursday that I got a second deg tear but was surprised at how well it was healing, I was feeling really good. PHN was here yesterday and noted the stitches had opened 2mm and today they’re so so sore. I (silly me) thought it would be ok to shift to normal big knickers and a new brand of maternity pads but I think they’ve irritated me. I’m now feeling exactly like I did first time around. Gutted isn’t the word 💔

PHN comes back next week to check me. Hopefully they’re better 😢

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 25/09/2024 09:56

Well baby is officially here!! 🥰 she was born at 40+2 with a right birth story to tell 😂

I woke up at 3am on Sunday with contractions like pains, which were every 10 mins then around 7am they got much further apart and weaker. Spent the day on Sunday out and about, having an odd pain here and there every hour or so. Then Sunday evening at 8:30pm the contractions started again, started timing they were coming every 4-5 mins. I wasn't sure if it was 'real labour' or if the same was going to happen and them stop in the morning. They started getting stronger, put my tens machine on, stood in my kitchen and swayed through the contractions and at 1:45 started to loose my bloody show, just after 2am they were getting really intense so told DH to ring my mum to come look after DS1 and then the hospital to ask if i could go get checked... he rang them and whilst on the phone, I had a contraction and suddenly could feel the pressure of her coming out 🙈 I shouted to him there's no time to go to the hospital she is coming NOW 🤣 I ran to the toilet and started crowning and they told him to ring an ambulance...he rang them at 2:15, I pushed her head out whilst sat on the toilet (also applying pressure to my perineum in hopes i wouldnt tear from arse to elbow 😂😂), jumped into the empty bath tub after and next contraction her body was out! Born at 2:18am 🤣 the ambulance arrived at 2:30am. She had the cord wrapped around her neck once so I quickly unravelled it, put her on my chest and she started crying straight away, I was so calm the entire experience, I actually found the whole thing incredible, my husband was absolutely petrified and is still recovering from the shock 😂 oh and my 4 year old slept through the entire thing 😂

So yeah, my first labour was 36 hours...and my second labour was 5 hours 50 🙈😂

Oh and I didn't tear either just 2 grazes! 💪😂

BakeOffRewatch · 25/09/2024 10:02

Congratulation @BeautyAndTheBump1 . What a story! These second ones really can come out quickly can’t they. It’s amazing you were able to stay calm through it. You must feel like super woman.

kc92 · 25/09/2024 10:32

@PinkWatermelon88 ouch!! I had an episiotomy that took 10-11 weeks to heal the first time, and a second degree tear this time so I feel your pain. My consultant told me extra vit C & manuka honey are supposed to help the healing. Plus Peri bottle every bathroom break & offered a preventative antibiotic that I didn't feel I needed just yet. The PHN had me take lactalose for the first week too to avoid any pressure down there during bathroom breaks. 🙈 Really hoping yours heals ok. It's tough when you have a toddler to chase around after while trying to rest up!

And congrats @BeautyAndTheBump1 that's an amazing birth story. 👏🏻 I definitely would not have stayed calm during that, you should be so proud!!

MudandMoet · 25/09/2024 11:02

@Emmaev 5 weeks tomorrow since I gave birth and it's only these last few days I've stopped bleeding, it was only very light the last week. Hopefully it's coming to an end for you 🫶🏻

Congratulations on all the new babies to the thread. So many since I last came on. Well done mommas 💚🩷🧡💙💛
@BeautyAndTheBump1 way to go! I would definitely not have been calm through that - amazing 🙌🏼🥰

I'll never get over when we all started on here, the nerves and apprehension about being early stage pregnant and now we're all popping them out (well not quite popping 😬) so proud and pleased for every single one of you xx

For those struggling with the sleepless nights, just keep telling yourself it's not forever and definitely will get easier, it's all a massive learning curve. You got this 💪🏼

PinkWatermelon88 · 25/09/2024 11:47

Thanks @kc92 so much! They can be tricky wee things to heal from! Will get vitamins (just remembered I stopped my prenatal supplements I might start it up again just to see if it helps!) x

WinsandSam · 25/09/2024 13:58

@PinkWatermelon88 I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable, sounds horrible for you. Fingers crossed a quicker recovery than last time for you.

@BeautyAndTheBump1 my god! What a story. A real life movie scene by the sounds of it. Incredible 💕 your poor husband 😂 probably going to need therapy for that lol.. huge congratulations to you both.

@MudandMoet wow, where have those weeks gone!! Crazy right. All the anxieties and build up for us all and now (nearly all of us) have our little babies here and moved into a new phase of life which I'm loving.

Who is still left to have their baby now?? We must be getting close

sorchanim · 25/09/2024 14:44

I have been a long time lurker on this forum but only joined today finally! My due date was yesterday (although I've suspected for a long time that it's later this week) and I just wanted to say congrats to the September mums so far and to let anyone else left hanging on that I'm still here!

I've an appointment with the gynaecologist tomorrow to check the baby at 40+2 and book in for an induction on I guess 8 October (42 weeks on the dot). I'm abroad and having midwife-led care in a way that wouldn't be possible at home and I am really hoping that I'm able to give birth with my amazing team of midwives before 8 October! Cross your fingers and send me all your oxytocin 😄

I can't believe I'll have a baby in the next two weeks - eek! Congrats to everyone on here on their pregnancies and babies! 😍

malimoon · 25/09/2024 15:24

Congratulations @BeautyAndTheBump1 that is a crazy story!!! Glad you're both okay (and hubby!).

@sorchanim I'm due Friday so also hanging on in there... Next midwife appt is Tues so I'll be 40+4. Would like baby to make an appearance soon but he's showing no signs of wanting to come yet!

tierneytarny · 25/09/2024 19:38

I think I am in the early stages of labour following a sweep yesterday. Booked in for induction early next week so hoping this is it and baby makes its own entrance in to the world.

A day of irregular contractions which have gotten slightly worse so not getting my hopes up but I’ve started timing them and will see how things go.

malimoon · 25/09/2024 21:23

@tierneytarny good luck!!

Nimi24 · 26/09/2024 08:24

@tierneytarny hope things have progressed for you!

@malimoon @sorchanim I'm waiting too! I'm 40+2 today, and did not go for a sweep at my 40 week mw appointment as cervix was 2cm then and this is my first. Mw felt I could wait a week. Fingers crossed for things starting this week, but don't feel hopeful. My next appointment is Tuesday, will go for a sweep then.

Babyplease23 · 26/09/2024 11:05

40+2 today as well, think I'm going to end up with an October baby at this rate! Getting impatient now. Got a midwife appointment on Monday so I'm going to request a sweep as I haven't had one so far!

Nimi24 · 26/09/2024 11:35

@Babyplease23 I'm so impatient now despite reading all the posts on healing from tears, postpartum bleeding and sleep deprivation.

I've never counted baby movements at any point in pregnancy, could always feel her at various times, but I'm starting to feel like I should be monitoring more closely now I'm over due date. Hope this thread doesn't run out by the time we have our babies! Also feeling like this might be an October baby

Babyplease23 · 26/09/2024 11:40

I'm in the same boat @Nimi24 I've never counted movements as he's always been quite consistent throughout the day.. But definitely a bit more hyper aware now! If anyone's got any tips on inducing labour do let me know, I feel like I've tried everything 🫣

Wanderlust86 · 26/09/2024 12:26

Wow @BeautyAndTheBump1 that's crazy! What a story to tell. Congratulations 🎊

sorchanim · 26/09/2024 12:40

@Nimi24 @Babyplease23 That's funny to see three of us with the same due dates!
I have a visit with the gynaecologist this afternoon for a scan and chat about induction, and another appointment with the midwife next Tuesday at 41+0 where I will ask for a sweep.

I've been doing Raspberry Leaf Tea and dates religiously and a few walks and DTD (although not consistently!). I am a little grateful for the extra time to get the house ready and do a bit more self-care, as well as a few extra perineal massages as I don't think I started that early enough or did as many as I should!

I've not been resting much on mat leave as I had quite a lot to do at home (loads of visitors and we're busy renovating...) so I'm hoping a bit more rest, more long walks etc. over the coming days will signal to baby that mama is chill and ready for them to come 😊Not feeling impatient yet though!

Caroline2023 · 26/09/2024 14:00

Wow @BeautyAndTheBump1 what a story and an entrance to the world!

Thinking of those overdue and hope things get moving soon!

Kiwi23 · 26/09/2024 16:50

@Kiwi23 my leg is painful and feels beaten and bruised. They're not pleasant at all! Feel hot too but think due to the stingy feeling and puncture wound

tierneytarny · 26/09/2024 18:58
