Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

Good luck to those who are still waiting/ overdue. The wait is so worth it ❤️

SantasRubiksCube · 26/09/2024 20:12

Hi all, just checking in can't believe the September thread will soon be done with and most of us who have been on this journey together will have had our babies, I still remember going for an early scan at 8 weeks pregnant like it was yesterday, now my gorgeous baby boy is already 11 days old 🩵 he's baby number 4 for us and will be our last so I'm trying to really drink in every moment with him being little as I know how quickly they grow and change 🥹
I'm trying to remind myself to take it easy as whenever I overdo it (housework, lifting baby in car seat, walking too long etc) I get quite achy across my belly and even get emotional, I've also noticed by the end of each day I feel abit like I've got something stuck inside down there, I know it can be a common feeling after birth but I'm hoping it's not a prolapse or anything (although nothing is actually protruding 😖) I dread to think the state of it downstairs now lol.
Anyway, I'm sending hugs to those of you still waiting for their babies to come, it can feel like forever in the last stretch but it will be worth it in the end x

BakeOffRewatch · 26/09/2024 20:15

What a lovely post @SantasRubiksCube . It’s so stressful getting them here but it’s intoxicating having a new family member, and seeing my toddler be so proud and loving being a big sibling is heart melting. I hope you and your kids have the best time with the newborn. I joined the group late, and found it so helpful through that last trimester nerves!

MrsB2019x · 26/09/2024 20:38

Hi ladies,

I was part of your lovely group until February when I had a MMC at the 12 week scan. Just wanted to pop my head in and say a huge congratulations to you all on your lovely babies!

Hope everyone is doing well and hope things get moving soon for those still waiting x

malimoon · 26/09/2024 20:54

Lovely news @tierneytarny congratulations!!

kc92 · 26/09/2024 21:02

Congrats @tierneytarny 🎉 and best wishes to everyone still waiting on their September babes - echoing what everyone else is saying that magic is just around the corner for you all.

@SantasRubiksCube lovely thoughts. I was in the group early and then rejoined once I was on mat leave and needed to occupy my nerves - has been so helpful to see everyone's stories.

@MrsB2019x what a kind message! My boy was a rainbow baby so thinking of you at this time. Although it was a really early loss for us my heart still hurt a little when we passed what would have been their due date. Hoping your healing is going well. ❤️

Cinai2 · 26/09/2024 22:11

Thank you for checking in @MrsB2019x I hope you’re doing well x

WinsandSam · 26/09/2024 23:36

@MrsB2019x thank you, that's really kind. I hope you're doing ok and soon will be your time for some good news.

@Ellamaee hi 👋 welcome. It's a tough ride hey. I'm struggling with nights so so much, more than anything just to stay awake

@tierneytarny congratulations to you 💕

PinkWatermelon88 · 27/09/2024 00:00

I spoke too soon about having a wonderful sleeper,,,, lil miss is exactly like her sister and now wants our bed constantly!! Plus the cluster feeding is ridiculous… she stays latched for hours each night!! It’s so hard.

Decaffe · 27/09/2024 00:29

DS is nine days old today (well, Thursday), and in 24 hours he fed 15 times for up to 30-40 mins per feed.

Is this cluster feeding, an early growth spurt, a very hungry baby, or just normal?!

Demi55 · 27/09/2024 03:16

Hey everyone, baby Violet arrived at 11.29pm on the 25th. She is so perfect! Was a little scary delivery in the end with forceps needed and an episiotomy as her heart rate dropped as soon as I started to push and from waters breaking to birth only been 9 hours (first time mum) and the epidural failed! Then when she was born I haemorrhaged, however, I feel really good and baby is doing amazing! The team in the labour room was awesome and made a very scary situation much less scary! Can’t wait to be discharged now.

Good luck for everyone still waiting!

BakeOffRewatch · 27/09/2024 03:45

Congratulations @Demi55 , I love her colourful name, blanket and sleepsuit!

Caroline2023 · 27/09/2024 05:25

Congratulations @Demi55 she’s gorgeous!

@Decaffe my little one is similar with 14 feeds with some periods of cluster feeding. I’ve assumed it’s normal but I’m a first time mum too. Is his latch wide and good?

malimoon · 27/09/2024 08:13

Congratulations @Demi55 what a sweetheart! And glad you're feeling okay after your scary delivery

PinkWatermelon88 · 27/09/2024 12:26

Ah beautiful violet I love the name @Demi55 ! I remember this frequency of feeding from #1 too and it just never settled haha. So she cluster fed almost full time for like 6m.

Emmaev · 27/09/2024 12:26

@Decaffe this is normal, I’ve had the same with baby girl. Seems she’s only happy being latched or having my boob right by her face so she knows it’s around haha

I did read that at this age they’re trying to regulate your milk, my friend said it starts to get easier around 6 weeks, then they just cluster feed around growth spurts.

As long as babes are having lots of wet and soiled nappies with a healthy weight gain then it’s all normal. Very draining and sleep deprivation is intense, but it does get easier. Apparently 😂

kc92 · 27/09/2024 13:29

@Decaffe totally normal for his age! As he gets stronger and your supply regulates he should become much faster at getting his milk & go longer between his feeds. 🤞

@PinkWatermelon88my first was the exact same. 😂 Funny enough this time round I feel like because my first breastfed for so long to 18 months my supply regulated straight away and it's been incredibly smooth sailing. Though I nervously touched wood while I typed that. So far he feeds in under 10 minutes, and goes 2-3 hours without feeds until the evening time rolls around.

WinsandSam · 27/09/2024 15:06

@Decaffe our day really varies. Some times she'll have good feeds through the day and then nap for 1-3 hours. Other times she will feed 3 x an hour. Nights she feeds more. Generally up 20 mins. So sounds like little one is establishing a routine/milk.

PinkWatermelon88 · 27/09/2024 15:39

@kc92 e living the dream mama!!! Long May it last for you girl :) so far it’s been a bit easier this time I’d say, or maybe I’m just more used to the sleep deprivation lol xx

kc92 · 27/09/2024 20:12

I was already up every night with a toddler climbing in to our bed so I haven't been as phased by night wakings this time either. 😂

Q for the formula feeding moms actually please! We're doing a bottle before bed every night and so far using the ready made Aptamil. It's expensive to keep up but I'm worried if we move over to the powder it might upset his tummy and the sleep we're getting. Is this usually a smooth transition? Or should I just keep up the ready made? Also not sure how much we should be giving him. 🙈 He's 11& 1/2 lbs already and getting 3oz in his bottle.

FuppinNora · 28/09/2024 01:47

@kc92 I moved mine over from ready made and I never thought of doing a slow swap. I just presumed they were the same make up. However his bowel movements changed and I felt he was more windy. I've changed him to cow and gate now and seems less uncomfortable when having a bottle. Still constipated though but hasn't affected his sleep Looking back I'd definitely slowly introduce bit by bit but also could be coincidence. I make his bottles up for day and keep in fridge, I give them at room temp not heated or a quick dip in warm water to take chill out so it is still handy during night. I bring ready made if out for long periods.

My ds is 8.4lbs and takes between 90ml and 120ml. He is starting yo hit the 120ml a good bit but think 150ml would be a waste at moment as he isn't consistent.

Congrats to all those who had babies, hopefully you are enjoying the bubble.
Mine is nearly 5 weeks now and feel a bit in the trenches of feed, change and repeat. He is starting to respond though so it is helping.

Not long now for the rest of you - you are nearly there!! We mustn't have many left now?
Sorry this turned into a bit of an essay.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 28/09/2024 08:04

One tired mummy here! I have a little lady who seems to sleep all day - we even have to wake her for feeds cus if we leave her she won't wake and ask for it and I've been trying to feed more in the day because at night time she is up the majority of the night! 🙈

from around 7pm - 8pm she becomes really unsettled and wants feeding constantly (formula fed) for hours and hours. She'll fall asleep on the bottle then as soon as we put her down she wakes up and starts rooting again. And does this the entire night, she got to a point where she was just throwing her milk straight back up, obviously overfeeding...but wanted nothing other than the bottle 😫

UnicornRainbow2 · 28/09/2024 08:22

Congratulations to everyone who has given birth to their beautiful babies! Hope you are all enjoying the newborn bubble!

My due date was also 24th September (I know there are a few of us with this date) Still nothing from me. Feel fine, no pains, no signs 😂 3rd baby so thought I’d not be waiting this long but have heard the 3rd can be a wild card. 1st was 7 days late and 2nd 4 days late. Hoping something will happen soon before they want to induce me 🙏🏼

@Lillers How are you? I think you said you were getting induced on Tuesday because your GD was getting low readings. Hope all is ok 🥰

TripleESept24 · 28/09/2024 08:29

Congrats to all who have given birth, and I hope everyone still holding out is coping not long to go!!

Can anyone recommend a "night light" for breastfeeding?? I'm literally grabbing my phone and putting the torch on at the moment 🙈 so I don't have to get up out of the bed and put a main light on.

I was looking at this..... But it has not great reviews recently saying it doesn't last long!!

Sorry if this sounds a bit obvious, it's not meant in a funny way but have you thought about trying a dummy? Babies suckle for comfort as well as to feed so if she's bringing alot of milk back up it might settle her without the need to give a bottle (I am aware not everyone likes the idea of using a dummy though but I couldn't of coped without my 4 having them as babies and it was always easy to wean them off of them when the time was right.) Hope you get some sleep soon, the early days/weeks of sleep deprivation are hard going x
