Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

Congratulations @Kiwi23 I hope you get to hold your little one soon x
Ive woke up feeling sorry for myself again today, had the urge to deep clean the kitchen yesterday so me and DH did that, then we had some intimacy in the evening with me having orgasms (sorry tmi) after I took a relaxing bath and went to bed. I ended up with some tightenings through the night and back cramps but by around 4 in the morning it had all disappeared yet again 😞 Ive got a midwife appointment this afternoon where she will offer me a sweep which before I was against but now I'm thinking I'm so fed up that I'll just say yes, even if to just see if my cervix is even a little bit ready, I honestly feel like I can't cope much more PGP has really ramped up this last week and I'm just so done

BakeOffRewatch · 11/09/2024 08:28

@SantasRubiksCube i had PGP with my first I had to shuffle for months and couldn’t walk by the end. I think my waters have broken overnight. A midwife is coming round, cos I’m on Homebirth team, to do a swab test which check if it really was amniotic fluid and then they said either I can choose to wait 24hrs to see if labour starts on its own at home or immediate induction.

Cinai2 · 11/09/2024 08:31

Congrats @Kiwi23, I hope you’ll soon be reunited with your little girl x

PinkWatermelon88 · 11/09/2024 08:46

Congratulations @Kiwi23 hope you are both reunited soon xxx

WinsandSam · 11/09/2024 09:01

@Kiwi23 congratulations on birth of baby 🥰 sorry to hear it hasn't quite gone as planned. Hopefully after a little help she'll be able to be with you quickly!

@BakeOffRewatch that's exciting!! Good luck with the midwife coming over. Keep us posted x

BakeOffRewatch · 11/09/2024 11:05

@Kiwi23 so great you got to see her this morning. Fingers crossed you all get to go home soon.

Not amniotic fluid, the swab was negative. I asked for a sweep, it was quite uncomfortable, it didn’t feel that way when I had them first time round. I am 2-3cm open, which is a bit more than the 1cm most women stay at after first birth. My cervix is ripe. I got all excited! But had a sweep now and I’m 41+1 so I’m hoping.

TripleESept24 · 11/09/2024 11:21

@Kiwi23 congrats on your baby girl. Hoping she is out of nicu and with you both soon 🩷 xxx

@SantasRubiksCube I woke in the middle of the night with painful tightening I couldn't get myself up to go to the toilet partner had to help me. You always think could this be it don't you! But no I fell back to sleep and nothing this morning.

We are nipping to the shop this morning for some essentials, but then I'm going to have a really rested lazy day binging netflix for the rest of the day! Its absolutely chucking it down here!!

PinkWatermelon88 · 11/09/2024 13:03

39+1 today and had ny first sweep this pregnancy . Was 1cm dilated but that’s to be expected after giving birth just 2y ago. Cervix was favourable but not that ripe yet. So now we wait! Id say i’ll be back in next week for another.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 11/09/2024 13:38

I'm 38+4 today, the last 3 nights when I've been laid in bed I keep getting what I think is lightning crotch??

Especially when I lay on one side - literally feels like she's got a tazer in there and zaps my vagina 🙃 I was having to hold my crotch last night and kept getting these sharp pains to the point I got out of bed and jiggled her around to try and get her to move because they were actually really painful! Anyone else experienced these pains?!

Decaffe · 11/09/2024 13:50

Has anyone got any bingeable series recommendations please?

We have Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV. 😳 And yet we can never find anything to watch 😂

I’m about four years behind on Greys Anatomy so that’s my current plan!

mrsbgb · 11/09/2024 13:53

@Decaffe we've just enjoyed The Gentlemen on Netflix and I love Hacks on Prime. I'm also on an ongoing journey with This is us on Prime, which I have to ration as I find it too emotional 😂

WinsandSam · 11/09/2024 14:51

@BeautyAndTheBump1 every day!! Bloody painful and it makes me scream at times 😂 like I'm being stabbed. Must be her massive head as so low in my pelvis.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 11/09/2024 14:58

@Decaffe what kind of stuff are you into? I've just started rewatching prison break on netflix.

Also been told about 'The Teacher' on channel 5 and also Sheridan Smith

We started watching the new 24 hours in police custody last night top. And been enjoying the 2nd season of Celebrity Race Across The World.

All random ones haha I binged watched the last season of Britain's Next Top Model the other week too 😂

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 11/09/2024 14:59

@WinsandSam I'm so glad (sorry 😂) it's not just me! I have been doing some hip rotations on the ball the last few nights so I think I've caused her head to go lower and electrocute me each night 😂

TripleESept24 · 11/09/2024 15:52

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I'm about to catch up on the new 24 hours in police custody! And the teacher looks good so think I'll start that .......

I've also binged love is blind on netflix (when other half isn't around) as its his nightmare but it's so cheesy I love it 🤣

malimoon · 11/09/2024 15:56

Went and got my RSV vaccine today so thanks everybody who encouraged me to do it - the vaccine nurse said it's worth doing at any point as you start making antibodies right away and they will go across in breast milk too

FuppinNora · 11/09/2024 16:00

@Kiwi23 Congrats and hopefully you are reunited quickly. Can't imagine what it feels like to be separated.

Bingeable series currently watching The Tower. Crime drama

The woman behind the wall is a great series, it is about her baby been taken by the Magdelene laundries in Ireland so may not be suitable bit I really enjoyed it. It was on channel 4.

This is us is absolutely brilliant - laughing one minute, crying next. I'd love to be starting it new all over again.

Someone has recommended the queen of the south to me but haven't started it yet.

SpicyMoth · 11/09/2024 16:19

Congrats to @kiwi! I hope you'll be able to with with your new wee one soon, god I can't imagine what the stress must be like! Thoughts are with you!

@Decaffe I've been rewatching Gotham and Supernatural on Prime - Both relatively long series, Gotham is a bit cheesier than I remember but Supernatural holds up a bit better, I've just been clinging to anything long running as I'm anticipating being on the sofa a lot whenever my wee boy decides to make his grand entrance into the world!
Oh, I also really enjoyed Eric on Netflix with Benedict Cumberbatch in it!
It's not long but it's really good.
_
Now for a good moan!
I had the most horrendous heartburn of the entire pregnancy last night - Got about an hour's sleep between the dragon in my throat and the itchy soreness of my belly.
At roughly 6 am I had to sit up as it all got too much, and then at about 7am I was throwing up and shivering and just generally feeling like death.
Then got a message from my mum at around 8/9 to tell me she'd been in A&E since 1AM thinking she was having a heart attack rating her pain at 9 out of 10 and had only just got back home.
Thankfully not a heart attack in the end, but something to do with liver enzymes caused by her antidepressants so she needs them switched????
So that's been 10 tonnes of stress for everyone.

Now for the part where I probably sound incredibly selfish;
She was meant to be taking me to final MW appointment before induction on the 13th tomorrow as we don't drive, but now I'm super apprehensive about her leaving her house and I don't want to cause her more stress or ask anything of her - So it's looking like it'll be a taxi job for us tomorrow, and then presumably a taxi job to the hospital for the induction the day after as well.

I am STRESSED.

I've lost all hope of labour happening naturally at this point.
Between how I'm feeling, the vomiting and now my mum not being well - Just feeling really defeated and like absolute poo and there's no way that's conducive to getting labour going, my oxytocin levels must be through the floor
.
Half expecting absolutely everything to hit the fan and that I'll end up with an emergency C-Section just to top it all off.
Just feels like everything's going wrong.
I know that's SUPER dramatic in the grand scheme of things when so many other things could've gone wrong at any point, but it's just how I feel to be honest.
Utterly deflated, full of dread, 41+1 and getting more "done with it" by the minute.
Really can't take much more.

@SpicyMoth im so sorry to hear you’re in the horrors. And your poor mam too, it’s a lot. Thank gosh she got medical care in time and is well now again.

my anxiety has peaked over the last few days too and I’ve really leaned into Hypnobirthing. And while a flood of oxytocin is required for Labour, lots of women give birth in scary situations every day. Try mins yourself - funny tv, cups of tea, cosy blankets, do whatever you can to take your mind off it and soften into this time if you can. I know it’s hard but anxiety about the future takes us from the present xxx

SantasRubiksCube · 11/09/2024 18:28

@SpicyMoth sorry your going through such a tough time, it really does seem like these things happen when we could really do without them, I have my fingers crossed for you that things start going a bit smoother 🤞🏻

Had my midwife appointment this afternoon (I'm 41 weeks tomorrow), she offered a sweep which I was totally against at my last appointment but I agreed this time as I'm so fed up now. She said cervix is soft and about 2cm, but babies head is still abit far back, she did a sweep as best she could (very uncomfortable 😣) and booked an induction in for Tuesday which even though I want him to come before then, having a particular date seems scarier 🤷🏻 and I'd really rather avoid induction but I guess it's depending on baby. I just want to stay in bed all the time 😅

MudandMoet · 11/09/2024 20:07

Congratulations @Kiwi23 and everyone else who's had their babies, I'm so behind on the thread. Still in my lovely baby bubble - she's 3 weeks old tomorrow and an absolute dream. Any update @Wanderlust86 ? Hope you're okay xx

Going back to the perineum massage and hot press on that area during labour I would recommend both as I did both and didn't tear. Could be coincidence but I'd do it again just in case! Grapeseed oil worked for me.

Sounds like lots of babies due very very soon now... Wishing you all the very best of luck with your upcoming birth journeys. So exciting!!! 🩵💕🩵💕

WinsandSam · 11/09/2024 20:41

Anyone else feeling really emotional? Baby will be arriving next Friday and everything makes me cry. The thought of this being our last weekend alone, meeting her, the c section, seeing friends for last time before baby comes.... just everything 😭😭

hol92 · 11/09/2024 21:08

@WinsandSam yes! I sat with my little one this morning watching bluey and eating toast and I couldn't control crying thinking of how this is the last weekend of the 3 of us, it's so exiting though ❤️ but yes for some reason I feel very emotional, the first night in hospital with them is just the best feeling you just keep looking at them and you can't believe they are here all that time imagining them being here and there they are 🥹 x

kc92 · 11/09/2024 21:19

@SpicyMoth oooffff tough week!! Regardless of how you labour or birth though you're going to be so proud of yourself once you hold your little one in your arms. There can be so much pressure to achieve "natural" childbirth but no matter how it happens you're going to have the most transformative moment of your life.

Echoing what @PinkWatermelon88 said about curling up with a cozy blanket and good TV show to take some pressure off yourself.

@hol92 plus the magical feeling of introducing your little ones is waiting! Felt like my heart was going to burst in two during it. ❤️

Waitinggame42023 · 12/09/2024 06:43

Hi ladies, hope everyone's managing OK in the last few days! Just wondering if anyone else has an advice of is in the same boat;

I'm due 27th Sept and was told after a scan on Monday that my baby is measuring 92nd centile, (up from 63rd just 3 weeks prior). Blood tests for GD have come back clear. As I'm not booked in for an app to discuss with consultant until tomorrow, I've spent days panicking now!

Particularly as I'm fairly petite and this is my first, a massive baby was definitely NOT what I wanted to hear, feel like my mindset for vaginal birth is totally shot now. Don't know if I should take an induction and still try for a normal birth (risking tears, damage etc) or just opt for an elective, knowing I've got the horrible recovery from that?
DH only gets 2 weeks paternity and no family in the area so I will have very limited support for long recoveries.... plus my trust bans fathers from postnatal ward from 6pm til 8am!
