Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

@tierneytarny check out spinning babies or the Miles circuit - if you Google you should find instructions for both. I think if those don’t work though people talk about ECV or moxibustion?

Xur · 05/09/2024 17:16

@tierneytarny … or swimming 🙃

tierneytarny · 05/09/2024 18:56

@mrsbgb @xur thanks guys - shocking day and desperate to try get baby head down. Will be googling tonight and spending my next few days trying anything and everything Xx

BakeOffRewatch · 05/09/2024 19:15

What’s your gestation @tierneytarny ? As they can change quite quickly. Squatting all the time, like watching tv squatting or supported squatting, sitting on inflatable stool or using it to support your arms and upper body whilst lower half of your body is in child’s pose position, relaxes and opens your pelvis. Sitting on pregnancy ball and rotating hips bath and forth and around and around. Plus the Spinning babies moves mentioned, like inversion and side lying release to release any tension. Fingers crossed here for you x

FuppinNora · 05/09/2024 20:50

I didn't have this after having my first but the night time sweats are something else since having DS, make sure you have a handheld fans with you ladies - it was a godsend in the hospital. I asked phn about it and apparently it is common

Recovering well from c section- home after 2 days and today (day 9) I've had to barely take any painkillers. Had to give myself blood clot injections - seems to be a new thing here in Ireland if having a section. Baby doing well, sleeping bottle to bottle more or less but having wake windows this week. We were on poo watch yesterday as he hadn't any in 24 hours and the cheers when he went last night - I forgot how much life revolves around bowel movements😂

Now ladies, looking forward to the next bit of news!

BakeOffRewatch · 05/09/2024 20:59

Aw poor baby @FuppinNora , must have been so uncomfortable. Yes I remember the pride when I realised my baby had learned they could push out poo to get it over with, rather than cry when it was uncomfortable and passing through!

The hospital is boiling whenever I’ve been for appointments, good advice. Really hoping it cools down.

what’s PHN?

tierneytarny · 05/09/2024 20:59

@BakeOffRewatch I’m 36+3. If baby doesn’t move and stay head down I’ll be admitted and kept in until delivery so really hoping I can move this baby.

BakeOffRewatch · 05/09/2024 21:23

I thought we might all appreciate this thread in Sporner Corner about blocked boobs www.mumsnet.com/talk/sporner_corner/5158934-i-must-tell-you-what-just-happened-in-the-shower

PinkWatermelon88 · 05/09/2024 21:27

@FuppinNora another thing added to the Amazon cart thanks for the tip x

FuppinNora · 05/09/2024 22:17

@BakeOffRewatch sorry public health nurse - not sure what they are called in UK? Basically community nurse that comes and visits you about 2 days after birth to check you and baby.

Kiwi23 · 06/09/2024 06:42

Anyone else feels like crap morning sickness come back at 38+3 and feel so unwell

PinkWatermelon88 · 06/09/2024 06:59

@Kiwi23 nausea can be a sign of early labour my baby book said. Mind yourself x

I have Hurd this I’m hoping so I’m so ready for her to be here now. I had sickness bad at the beginning went away about 17 weeks but this last week had it a few times them twice this moring already and only been up 2 hours

Emmaev · 06/09/2024 10:30

@FuppinNora omg the sweats were insane. I had an all over body itch as well and when you can’t move is actual torture. Having had my last section 8 years ago I completely forgot about that part.

We stayed in 24 hours after birth but I was determined to get home to my eldest. Plus I couldn’t bare staying in hospital any longer. 4 days was more than enough!

I also had a poo panic as our baby hadn’t poo’d for 1 and a half days. Don’t read google because it’ll say that babies should poo as many times as they are old. As soon as I began to panic she’s done about 6 in the space of 2 days.

I did figure how can a baby have loads of poos when they’re literally drinking drops from birth to 3/4 days old?

TripleESept24 · 06/09/2024 11:36

Just got back from 39 week appointment. No sweep as babies head isn't engaged 😭

Feel a bit deflated and sure she's going to be late now. Going to try a sweep next week but don't even have an appointment booked or know when because she couldn't find a slot and will have to do some "rejigging" so feeling a bit in limbo and annoyed 😓

Also just sent my partner to get a pack of Medjool dates and what he got is NOT Medjool dates will they even help?? 🙄

FuppinNora · 06/09/2024 11:43

@Emmaev I forgot about the itch already! My nose for some reason was driving me insane the 1st day- must be what it is like to be on good drugs 😂
@TripleESept24 hopefully you will get some movement, it is very frustrating when they don't give you a timeline. Mine went from going naturally to need sorting today - I had been trying to get answers for weeks. It can't hurt to eat the dates- at least he tried 😅

SantasRubiksCube · 06/09/2024 11:57

Just checking in to have a bit of a moan (this is my safe space to whine 😅). I'm so tired, uncomfortable and grumpy......I want this baby OUT! I can't even sleep properly cos I wake up every half hour either needing a wee or having to haul myself to my other side as my pelvis/hips hurt so much. I actually woke up this morning and just had a bit of a cry straight away as it was like 'another long day of being pregnant', I think I'm just getting hormonal and overwhelmed now. 40+1 weeks and I just know this baby isn't planning on making an appearance any time soon 😔

SantasRubiksCube · 06/09/2024 12:04

Also to add baby is constantly hurting me, pushing his head into my cervix so it's like I've got a taser going off in my vagina, if I try and sit comfortably he gets stroppy and digs his feet/knees into my ribs as hard as he can etc. it's like if you want more room to stretch, then come out! 😅

BakeOffRewatch · 06/09/2024 12:18

Good to hear from you @TripleESept24 and @SantasRubiksCube , was wondering if silence from you @SpicyMoth and @kc92 might mean something …

Things can change quickly with the baby 39 is still not full term in some countries. Though totally appreciate the discomfort this late! I am still waiting but I have mentally accepted going to 42 as that’s what happened with first. That was hard because I was mentally ready from 36.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 06/09/2024 12:28

@TripleESept24 Honestly it means nothing even though very deflating! My last pregnancy my first sweep I was 1cm dilated, all good signs, had a 'great sweep' and nothing happened. My friend went and wasn't engaged or dilated, cervix hard and high so couldn't have a sweep...went into labour the next day!

@SantasRubiksCube completely feel ya with the fed up and uncomfortable...but just remember anything can happen within a matter of hours! You're at the very last hurdle and baby will be in your arms so soon!

Emmaev · 06/09/2024 12:35

So sorry to hear you girls are struggling. The last few weeks are hard going. I was constantly in the toilet, barely sleeping, everything hurt, I could barely walk anywhere. My feet were so swollen and itchy I couldn’t wait to get her out and see her.

Shes here now and all of that already feels like a distant memory, I’m really going to miss feeling her in my belly knowing that’s the last time I’ll ever feel her in there. It is so hard to embrace the last days when you’re in pain. Sending you all love on the last few days and weeks. It really does fly by and you’ll all
soon have your sweet baby in your arms

TripleESept24 · 06/09/2024 12:42

@BeautyAndTheBump1 thanks for that bit of reassurance! I was convinced she would come early. It is my second so hoping things will just start before having to be induced (I wasn't induced with my first but went 41+6 and was due to be induced the next day)

Decaffe · 06/09/2024 12:52

I’ve just come out of my final scan and final appointment (38w1d) and just had a huge cry in the car park. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d get here. I’m so proud of my boy and so proud of me. All the odds were against us at every step of the way and yet here we are today, 11 days to go.

WinsandSam · 06/09/2024 12:53

Final growth scan today, all has been going swimmingly. Baby has been on 53rd centile.

37+ 4 and now there's too much amniotic fluid and she's on the 97th centile 🫣 weighing a chunky 7lb 10oz.

I'm booked for a section on 20th so hoping she stays put until then! If waters go need to make sure cord doesn't come out

Anyone in same position?

Cinai2 · 06/09/2024 13:07

Aw, we are all so close! I too find these last stretch tough, not so much physically (I’m really lucky to not be super uncomfortable, just the odd pains here and there and a lot of peeing) but emotionally I’m all over the place. 38 weeks today, c section next week. I’m constantly in between being excited to meet him, scared of the c section, and scared in general how I will manage with a baby. It’s so surreal that the rollercoaster of pregnancy comes to an end now but something even more crazy is about to start 🥹
