So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Just to share that my results were all fine and completely normal and my 28 weeks bloods were all good as well! So relieved to be having such a positive experience so far. Im Definitely starting to feel a lot more tired though and work is so completely draining!

Hope everyone else is doing ok

28 weeks now and feeling veeery pregnant and tired.

Have a CS date booked for 1st May (am I going to be booted out of this group?) so it's all starting to feel a bit real.

Panicking about the state of my room and the stuff I still need to sort out though. I have a toddler so know that I won't have the time or energy to do this after baby is born.

What a great birthday to have!

I haven't got a date for my section yet. I am hoping to get it at my 32 week appointment next week.

Dojo13 · 20/02/2025 17:30

I’m trying to get my hospital bag prepped in the new few weeks. Any recommendations for nappies, pre-made formula or anything else? And what sort of amount of each should I be taking? I’ll be having a planned c section so will be in at least one night. I’m hoping to breastfeed but would rather be prepared in case it doesn’t happen straight away or at all!

TheBeesKnee · 20/02/2025 23:26

@Dojo13 ooh how exciting, do you have a date?

Last time I brought a whole little pack of pampers that I got from the Emma's Diary free bag. I was unexpectedly in for a week and my friend ended up bringing us more nappies.

Have you got plans to harvest colostrum? I ended up with an EMCS and my baby was taken to NICU for 3 hours and his first feed was a few syringes of colostrum that I'd brought.

WRT formula, I think the recommendation is to buy whatever is easiest for you to get a hold of because you're not really supposed to change it once you pick one? I didn't know this and had 3 different brands packed 🤣 but my hospital had some for emergency use anyway.

Slightly off topic but I think our family has had noroviris. Everyone has now recovered but last night it was my turn. I was so violently sick I wet myself. It's awful. I'm so thirsty but can only tolerate small sips of water. Also got diarrhea. I'm exhausted. My mouth is so dry! I'm 31 weeks and it brought in terrible Braxton hicks but thankfully that's passed. Should I contact anyone or will it just pass? Currently feel like death

Oh no!

I'm so over the constant illness. We all had a sick bug, then I had conjunctivitis alongside a cold which wouldn't quite go. Now I've got a potential uti 😫. Also sciatica in my leg. Feel like I'm limping to the end (and still six weeks 😲)

It's terrible isn't it!? My son brings it back from school. He's always ill so I'm always ill . It's frustrating. Meant to have a nice half term with friends but it's gone out the window 🙄I hope your UTI goes quickly. I've had a few this pregnancy and it's horrible. It seems the babies are nice and cozy though haha

Blue2020 · 21/02/2025 10:49

@Lcw29 I really feel for you. I had that on New Year’s Day. Could not stop being sick or keep anything down. I think I was about 24 weeks. It only lasted for a day for me, I had to keep drinking some water and then it eventually passed. I think the danger is dehydration. I hope you recover quickly.

From the start of this pregnancy until mid Jan anything my son brought home from nursery in terms of bugs I have caught them. I’m thankful I have had a month of being healthy, no idea how. Just waiting to catch the next cold or bug.

Whenyoupickapawpaw · 21/02/2025 17:23

@Lcw29 I feel for you too. Like PP I had it at 14 weeks pregnant after coming back from holiday abroad. I couldn't keep any food or fluid down. Every time I drank water I just vomited it back up. I felt awful, could barely lift my head off the sofa or speak to anyone. It did only last a day and then I was just tired for a day afterwards. I would just say try and take regular small sips of water or juice to keep hydrated. All the best

Lcw29 · 22/02/2025 06:15

Thanks everyone. I ended up calling for advice as had reduced movement as well. I had to go in which didn't want but they separated me from people. Baby's heart is ok but she needs an urgent growth scan as she's measuring smaller than a few weeks ago. I have a lot of ketones but didn't want a drip yet so I'm home but need to start trying to eat small bits or I'll need to go back. They might call me later as I have a crp of 54 which can indicate bacterial infection. Just got to wait and see now. Hopefully bubs will be ok

Lcw29 · 25/02/2025 18:17

Had my growth scan she's measuring 2 weeks behind so talking to the consultant Thursday. Probably mean more scans to come. But she's looking ok regarding placenta and amniotic fluid etc...

Are you feeling better and able to eat again now?

Yes I'm much better thank goodness. I've had to start anti sickness meds again though as my morning sickness seems to have come back . But I'm feeling a lot better ☺️

Just booked in my csection date for 39 weeks 14th April. It feels odd potentially choosing the baby’s birthday. Of course it could get pushed back or arrive earlier. I guess it feels more like a finite date now compared to an estimated due date, and it’s only 6.5 weeks away.

How exciting! I have just been given the week 21-25th April. Don’t think I’ll get an actual date until a week or two before. I doubt it’ll be 21st as that’s Easter Monday. Will you be 39 weeks exactly on 14th?

Yes I’m due on the 21st April, 39 weeks on the 14th.

They have an excel sheet with 3-4 spaces per day. There are two people booked on that day already, plus if anyone filters from the Friday I assume they get priority alongside any emergencies so it could easily end up being the 15/16th? I don’t mind. I chose the start of the week so there are four chances.

When is your due date? I guess you get to celebrate easter before welcoming your newborn. Providing your little one doesn’t decide to come early.

Ah nice that you were able to choose so early. Fingers crossed it doesn’t shift!

My due date is 28th. I am so paranoid he is going to arrive early. I keep seeing videos online of April babies already arriving. My friend has just had her baby 2 weeks early so I guess it does happen. Hopefully he sticks to the plan 😅

Edited

My last pregnancy was an emcs at 35 weeks so this is the first time asking for a csection and finding out how it all works when it’s planned and it’s not a 30 minute decision.

Hopefully they will offer you a specific day closer to the time.

I know, I think I know a few people who have had their babies at 38.5weeks just from going into labour naturally at that time.

Lcw29 · 01/03/2025 11:17

I've been booked for my c section for 15th April but it could be earlier as I'm being monitored for slow growth. So far baby is happy but I have another scan in a few weeks and will go from there. Feeling a bit nervous now haha

Exciting! It’s going to come round so quickly. How many weeks will you be then?

I went for a private 4d scan today. Managed to get some good pictures. Baby is healthy and everything seems good with placenta, fluid, umbilical cord etc. It does say he’s just over 18th percentile but I don’t know how accurate that is. I’m not expecting a massive baby being 5’1 but I might still see if I can be booked in for growth scans to keep an eye since my carbon monoxide test results have been so up and down during my pregnancy.

It is exciting! I'll be 39 weeks. Our girlie is like on the 7th centile 😬 they did say there's a margin of error though so as long as the placenta and blood flow are good she should be fine. Always a worry tho!

Dojo13 · 05/03/2025 12:45

I’ve been booked in for a growth scan tomorrow because my carbon monoxide levels have been quite up and down throughout my appointments (and we don’t know the cause).

Anyone who is also having growth scans for whatever reason, how often do you go or is it all dependent on how that first scan goes?

I think they do it every 2 weeks. That way they get a really good idea of how it's going. That's what I'm having anyway ☺️

Bellebg · 05/03/2025 17:16

We’ve been having growth scans (because our baby is so big) and we’ve had them every two weeks ☺️

Dojo13 · 05/03/2025 17:33

@Lcw29 @Bellebg Ah thanks, I thought I’d seen somewhere they were every two weeks.

Do you still see your community midwife or do the scans replace those appointments?
