I was up 3 times for a wee, son woke me up for a wee himself so I took a 4th one just incase too. Then woke with heartburn twice. Today I'm taking my son to the cinema and hopefully I won't fall asleep 🙈

tryingfortwo2 · 07/08/2024 10:09

@Martibum good luck!! Keep us posted ♥️

mrsbgb · 07/08/2024 10:16

@Martibum good luck!
@WinsandSam I'm one of the lucky ones that's not having to wake up for a wee overnight (34+5 today), BUT I had terrible insomnia for most of my first and second trimester so I think this is my reprieve!

Had my 34 week midwife appointment this morning and she was really reassuring, thinks it's most likely the high umbilical pressure reading was an anomaly on Monday. Back for another scan tomorrow morning to re-do said readings, so fingers crossed they'll be in range and I can relax again!

WinsandSam · 07/08/2024 10:47

@mrsbgb oh I'm jealous! I haven't slept all night since December. Hopefully one day

Fingers crossed all goes well for your scan

Lillers · 07/08/2024 11:17

@Martibum Good luck! I hope it all goes really well ❤️

Daphnethinks · 07/08/2024 11:24

@Martibum best of luck with everything 💛

MrsMoggy · 07/08/2024 11:43

@Martibum wishing you all the best x

PinkWatermelon88 · 07/08/2024 12:43

Good luck @Martibum 💜

So I've had more drama today. Sorry for the incoming essay!!

I have been getting severe itching all over my body with no rash. Told midwife she said this can be liver functionality so they took some bloods. Had a text and the results today saying liver function blood tests are deranged. Looked and my ALT levels are 101 anything over 100 can be classed as serious liver disease or disfunction.

Called midwives and off to the hospital at 4pm tomorrow for assessment, more bloods and potentially a liver scan.

Over 100 Alt is really high, so I'm really worried and done the dreaded googling about liver problems when pregnant! And this screen shot worries me 😥 I suppose I will have to wait and see what they say tomorrow? But if it is really bad it seems they may think about inducing labour early!?

longingtobe23 · 07/08/2024 13:07

@TripleESept24 yes I don’t know the full ins and outs - but my friend had similar and did get baby induced early. But not too early, they might be able to wait it out with you in hospital until term? But I would try not to panic just yet (easier said than done)
wait until tomorrow and ask lots of questions 🤞🏻 if gets worse tonight I’d go to triage x

rupertbear91 · 07/08/2024 13:09

@TripleESept24 I wouldn't worry before you have to although I know it's hard. My ALT and AST have been really high off and on during pregnancy and there are loads of things that can cause it that can be normal - like just fighting off a bug. I had my liver scanned and it was fine. Did they run your bile levels to to check for choleostasis (or however you spell it!)? As that's the main issue with liver in pregnancy. Although saying that my friend had it and was just monitored with weekly blood tests and they kept threatening early delivery but she had him naturally at 40+2 with no issues

WinsandSam · 07/08/2024 13:13

@TripleESept24 that does sound scary but try not to panic! Just remember that all those risks are still present for lots of us. The hospital will know what they're doing so try not to over think before tomorrow. Do something to distract yourself x

TripleESept24 · 07/08/2024 13:13

@rupertbear91 @longingtobe23 I haven't seen bile levels just the liver functionality results.

I'll try not to panic! And see what they say tomorrow. I did have COVID, but it was two weeks ago and I haven't felt poorly at all really (had flu like symptoms for two days) then right as rain.

Just another thing to worry about tho isn't it! 😭

rupertbear91 · 07/08/2024 13:22

@TripleESept24 it could very easily be down to having had Covid, they did my bile acid tests when I went into the hospital so I'm sure they will do that for you tomorrow and that will confirm if it's cholestasis or not.
Fingers crossed it's all ok for you

TripleESept24 · 07/08/2024 13:30

@rupertbear91 just looked it is on my badger notes bile acid levels but just says 4.2. when I look online that doesn't seem to mean anything?

The numbers are confusing me!! Says between 40 and 100 then something else says anything above 1.2!? I don't actually know what 4.2 means is that high or low 😭

rupertbear91 · 07/08/2024 13:40

It will just be in different units so I imagine that would be the same as 42 at a guess so maybe very low end of abnormal. They will probably re run for you tomorrow and see it just seems to be a case of monitoring even if bile results are really high, I guess if there's a trend of them increasing then they will do something about it

Daphnethinks · 07/08/2024 13:44

@TripleESept24 I had the same earlier on in my pregnancy, had the high result went down a rabbit hole of worry they repeated the tests and was back in normal range!

Hopefully it's not as bad as we always worry about when it comes tomorrow but worst case at least the hospital are aware of the situation and can support you both in the best way possible 💛

Thank you! What were your ALT levels and bile levels to then return to normal? Was the alt level as high as 101?? Xx

MudandMoet · 07/08/2024 15:09

@Xur I'm hoping it's because they're actually pressing on or near the bladder and it's not a bladder weakness thing that won't go back right once we've had these babies.

And yes me too, was dying for a big glass of ice cold juice before bed, refrained and still 3 wees plus the normal 7am one when I get up. No fun.

@WinsandSam oh girl I feel your pain, sounds exactly like me. I'm sipping through the night because of dry mouth but try my hardest to have the tiniest amount possible. Also we have a fan on all night here too which I guess doesn't help.

Honestly I can't imagine not getting up for a wee, truly envious of you that don't.

@PinkWatermelon88 the thing is you'll sort it, it will somehow all fall into place and you'll just work with it. I can't imagine it'll be easy but you'll find your new routine and what works for you within a few weeks I'm sure.

Good luck @Martibum can't wait for an update 🫶🏻🥰

TripleESept24 · 07/08/2024 19:31

I'm feeling really worn down and emotional. I've just gone to bed crying. I feel worried and anxious. Everything has been really straightforward this pregnancy so far.

Doesn't help either that a baby bouncer chair just came that I ordered and other half putting it together has just said no don't like it from the offset. He said feels flimsy. So now it's gotta go back and be returned to Amazon, even that got me upset and made me cry.

Everything is just feeling a bit much at the moment and I'm on the verge of tears over anything and everything and just feel exhausted!!!!

mrsbgb · 07/08/2024 19:34

Sending love @TripleESept24. I spent most of Monday night in tears - I think the waiting in between appointments when you've had concerning news is the absolute worst as you naturally jump to worst case scenarios. Hope you get some clarity soon, but for now, eat something delicious (I've had a LOT of ice cream the last few days) and try and get some sleep x

HuggingAnIcePack887 · 07/08/2024 19:36

@TripleESept24 joining you, also sobbing because my wonderful cleaners have become totally unreliable, it means my house will be a shit tip when I take my my baby home, and one of my bosses is making my life difficult...she's a cunt who tells everyone how badly she was treated before she went on mat leave and is somehow managing to do the same to others. I've honestly been treated worse by women than men in this pregnancy.

TripleESept24 · 07/08/2024 19:42

@MrsM89 thanks. Its actually salad for dinner tonight tho which doesn't seem much fun when feeling low 🙄😐

@HuggingAnIcePack887 sorry to hear your boss is being difficult!!! I'm lucky with work that it's a small company and nobody is causing me any issues. I'm even thinking of not going in tomorrow at all if I'm feeling like this

MalibuAndPineapple82 · 07/08/2024 19:54

@MudandMoet thankfully no! 😂 I was just as huge with my second who was 6lb 12oz but by the time of my third and now this one I’m not so skinny anymore so the bump is a bit more evenly spread, still massive but a little more manageable 😬

Good luck @Martibum

@TripleESept24 & @HuggingAnIcePack887 sending love ❤️ Really glad I’ve found this chat, lovely to hear from people in the same boat.

WinsandSam · 07/08/2024 19:57

@TripleESept24 if I'm honest, I cry most days now. Literally anything whether good, bad, happy sets me off. I feel overwhelmed about birth. Feel lonely since finishing work. Don't like my own company and can't picture life with a baby.
I'm guessing this is all part of pregnancy and hormones but it's not fun
