I have just tested positive today with a due date of 2 February. Have had a look and I can't see that anyone else has started a group for Feb yet. Is there anyone else out there who would like to join?

Tentatively joining! I’m 14DPO tomorrow and have been testing positive since 10DPO, tests currently getting stronger each day. This is my first time ttc I’m in shock still a bit as I only came off the pill after 10 years on it 5 weeks ago, definitely wasn’t expecting this so soon! Husband is also in shock/denial 😂 Feels so early days still so not sure how to feel

Im 4 weeks today, due 7th Feb. I don’t even know what to do next, I was thinking to wait at least another week to make a GP referral for an appointment?

Congrats! Yes my husband didn't wanna believe the lines either but after a few days and me having a cry he's doing better 🤣

glovepillow22 · 01/06/2024 07:40

@Roxttc I could have written this too regarding the "ummm wtf do I do now" feeling! My husband didn't believe me untill he saw the words on a digital 😂

Roxttc · 01/06/2024 07:47

@glovepillow22 @RainbowLightning25 Yes I’ve only thought about trying to get pregnant not what happens next 😂 Im a bit anxious so think I will wait til 5 weeks on Friday if all is well and then make a referral. I guess they don’t have all the symptoms and can’t feel the things going on inside so it doesn’t really feel real to them! I asked him when he thinks it might and he said 12 weeks at the scan 🫠😂 Think we will book a private scan in at 8/9 week mark

RainbowLightning25 · 01/06/2024 07:58

They just need a few days to get over themselves 🤣 think when they see them in the screen it starts getting real as you said

Tulipwood · 01/06/2024 10:26

I think I’ve messaged everyone who wanted the WhatsApp link but if I’ve missed you send me a DM and I’ll add you 🥰

I'm pregnant for the first time in my life, oh my god. I found out yesterday. I'm 3 days late, and did multiple tests, all of which came out positive (though the first one was very dark)

4 weeks estimated. I'm in so much shock and so is my partner. We are 37 and 38 but very young at heart, do lots of raving and partying (or rather did!)

Been trying semi seriously since February, had my coil out in November. Didn't think it would happen so fast, maybe at all, because of my endometriosis.

He's just in the middle of finding out if he's gotten on a Masters degree to start in September. Everything's about to get tricky. Can someone tell me when it's going to start feeling lovely instead of absolutely horrifying (I realise I've been trying to get pregnant but didn't really think it would work....)

i83 · 01/06/2024 10:49

Hey everyone, can I join tentatively join you all please?

I’ve tested twice and due 5th February!

We’ve had 3 losses and then our last pregnancy resulted in our 14 month old son! (I had progesterone pessaries during the successful pregnancy.)

Having loses in the past, definitely makes you feel more worried, although I know everyone can be nervous. Thinking of you all.

Fingers crossed for healthy sticky beans!

I think we’ll have a scan at 6 weeks, to see how everything is going.

Do you want to have a baby? Were you only semi-seriously trying because you’re not sure?

For those of us who’ve had miscarriages etc, it’s usually terrifying (rather than horrifying) at this stage because you’re scared the pregnancy will fail, that usually passes around 13-14 weeks for me.

Ive never been pregnant and not sure if I want to be, but I imagine once you make the decision you definitely want a child that’s when it will stop feeling like that??

Thanks for your reply - sorry for misspeaking so much, feeling pretty wobbly at the mo. Yes we were def trying (though semi seriously as in, we weren't putting loads of pressure on ourselves) and we do 100% most def want this! But now it's happening it feels very scary and real if that makes sense. Looking through the thread, it seems I'm not alone. Eek.

With my first, she was a surprise.. we'd always ummed and arhed about kids but you just know when the time is right and it's completely personal decision. I then got pregnant and miscarried about 3 months after going back to work after my first and that was definitely NOT the right time. 3 years later and it's feeling like a good time so you know in your heart when it's right and only you will know. Sorry for the ramble 🙈

Hello girls. I've just jumped in here, as I potentially may be joining you on this journey. This was taken today, 3days before AF. I could have LINE EYES, it could be Evap or it could be positive. We aren't trying, but it would be a very welcome surprise none the less. 😃
Please feel free to tell me your thoughts. I have a very long background story but sure we will save that for another day. Congratulations girls. Xxxx

Rach3190 · 01/06/2024 19:42

Hi, I'm new here. Thinking I am going to be due 6th Feb

Hayl777 · 01/06/2024 20:25

@GingerPing what you say is very much relatable to me. Iv a big gap between my current youngest and this new baby… i think it’s a big change and it’s normal to get moments of conflicted feelings for the life ur leaving behind, no matter how wonderful ur new one might be x

retrievermum · 01/06/2024 20:26

@Rach3190 due date twins! How are you feeling?

Magicbean5 · 01/06/2024 20:44

@Tulipwood done another, different brand too, slightly darker 🤭
Looking likely that il be joining you all. Oh my goodness. X due date saying February 10th x

scrumdiddly123 · 01/06/2024 20:51

@GingerPing totally normal to feel like that, especially if it’s taken you by surprise! I’m feeling exactly the same and think it will take me a while to get my head around. Don’t worry, let it sink in!

Yes exactly. Loads of our friends have kids and we hang out with them loads, and I know it's going to be amazing but it's still gonna be the biggest change of your life!!

Also god the side effects. So so nauseous right now.

Any tips on feeling so sick you can't eat which makes you feel more sick?!

Confusedmermaid1 · 01/06/2024 21:20

@GingerPing apparently ginger helps, I got a pack of ginger biscuits to pick at 😅 and some ginger and lemon tea but I’m not sure if it works or it’s just in my head 😂 I’ll take it for now..

I’m having some light bleeding and more cramping so I’m trying to stay positive but it’s difficult.. have had to ban myself from google because I’m doing myself no favours..

Oh god sorry if I made you feel like you misspoke, you definitely didn’t!

I was just establishing whether it’s a pregnancy you wanted a your initial post wasn’t clear Smile

This is my second and apart from general early pregnancy terror, I’m completely unsure how the hell to manage 2 children so I think no matter what your situation, it’s always a headfuck.

Im nauseous too, I had it until 28 weeks with my first. Drinking water in small sips all day and ginger tea really helped last time. I also made sure what I could eat was little and often, so I used to make myself a little grazing plate and just snack all day.

GingerPing · 01/06/2024 21:53

@Fannypop no it's all good! I was also writing with one eye open while feeling mega convinced I was an imposter. All the comments and advice from everyone has been so helpful and reassuring.

I've just spent the afternoon in increasing agony on the couch (at 4 weeks?!) carefully sipping water and now had a MASSIVE sick, I had not anticipated!!

Did my Clearblue today and when the Pregnant flashed up it still didn't feel real!! I've taken a photo and keep looking at it.

Feeling so rough now, yesterday morning I did a big tesco shop without even realising (did the test that eve) , wish I'd bought helpful things like crackers and ginger instead of booze and smoked mackerel, lol, just tried with some black pepper oat cakes and they are so strong?!

Yeah it’s a thing! I’ve been a bit nauseous since 4 weeks 1 day, but I’ve been able to smell when next door uses their loo since 3 DPO Envy my house is detached…..

In the first trimester you basically get given a load of shit superpowers no one would ever want - super smell, defensive vomiting, mega farts, nipples so hard they can cut glass, the ability to cry at the drop of a hat etc etc

your HCG is doubling every 48 hours, and it’s usually HCG that makes you feel god awful as your body gets used to it. The good news is studies show that if you are a woman who feels sick very very early (before HCG reaches 1500), it’s likely you’ll stop feeling sick early too. Most women however don’t start feeling the effects until HCG is Up over 1500 and then gradually get more nauseous as time goes on! Like I say, last time I was sick about twice a day until 28 weeks Sad hoping this time since I’ve felt sick a lot sooner, it won’t go on as long!

GingerPing · 02/06/2024 07:13

@Fannypop you have no idea how useful this is. Thank you!! I didn't realise it was doubling ever 48 hrs and mega reassuring to hear its a sign you could adapt more quickly. So interesting.

Can it cause an upset tummy as well? On my second day now of super bad diahorreah, I assume it is connected but need to make sure I'm not getting really dehydrated.
