@ceruleansky Good luck! 💐 I hope everything is alright. ❤️

MixedCouple2 · 04/07/2024 16:37

@wannabe123 thats great you got some. I think any amount stocked up is good. Even for 2 or 3 feeds would be helpful. And it think easier when baby arrives.

@Morningcoffeeaddict yeah it can take some time. Oxytocin. Feeling good. Watching a good movie, after a bath or shower. Even getting partner involved.

@Jess725 watch "Care about little ones" Perineum Massage on YT. I used that with first pregnancy but got DH to do it. Sorry TMI I found being "in the mood" and using lube was helpful or some warmed up olive oil. I did the massage everyday for only 5 mins. Not the end of thw world if you can't as you can ask your oartner to apply a warm compress to the perinium during labout especially towards the end. Warm baths and showers etc are also beneficial. I ended up with a superficial graze with DS is assume a combo of massage and using the birth pool.

I have the Haaka silicone hand Pump. I will try that this weekend after massaging. See if that helpa get a bit more colostrum.
Still dealing with a poorly toddler so a bit crazy here.

MixedCouple2 · 04/07/2024 16:48

@ceruleansky hope everything is ok. Hopefully just the bloody show.

Baby has been active and during my insomnia baby was really kicking my stomach/ribs on the right side. It was so uncomfortable. Having a proper stretch I guess. Only stopped once I got up and moved about.

I am also not prepared for Baby to come still so much I want to do but I guese the important atuff is done.

ceruleansky · 04/07/2024 17:21

I've been admitted for fetal monitoring because of the bleeding. No contractions detected. Just staying overnight to be monitored. Baby's heartbeat is good. Been given a steroid injection and will have another dose in the morning. If I don't have any signs of labour they'll send me home and plan my section next week.

I see some yellow stuff on my pad. Not sure if that's my mucus plug or just a result of the pv check they did.

missmoosh · 04/07/2024 17:27

@ceruleansky sending best wishes, glad they are keeping you in for monitoring! ❤️

Jess725 · 04/07/2024 18:44

@ceruleansky thinking of you 💛

@MixedCouple2 thank you! I’m too tired to give it another go! Maybe tmrw! (Hope the tiredness isn’t a sign of labour!) literally can’t do anything!

wannabe123 · 04/07/2024 18:53

@ceruleansky hope you are being well looked after and everything is ok

@Jess725 omg the exhaustion! The midwife said crab walking up the stairs and bouncing on the ball will help bring labour on but I just want to lie down 🥱

Just seen on my app that baby is estimated to be 4.77kg!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 04/07/2024 21:04

@ceruleansky - thinking of you and hope all is ok! Glad they’ve got you in and are looking after you.

@MixedCouple2 - thank you, had another go after my bath today and got a drop, not enough to collect really but progress - boobs have been tingly and extra sensitive since I started trying yesterday so hoping they’re doing something and I might get a bit more tomorrow

MixedCouple2 · 04/07/2024 21:18

@ceruleansky glad they are checking all is ok. It sounds like Mucas plug and bloody show. I lost mine 5days before DS arrived. Jelly yellow with a bit of old blood then bloody show for a day or 2 bright red. Then went dark like old blood. And continued to loose more MP a little at a time u till I went into active labour.

ceruleansky · 05/07/2024 06:16

@justanotherlaura @missmoosh @SapphireSeptember @Morningcoffeeaddict @Jess725 @wannabe123 @MixedCouple2
Thank you everyone for your kind words and suggestions. Nice to wake up to your messages. 🩷
I'm still being monitored every 4 hours since they found some discrepancies in the readings, not sure what that means.
Everything's fine, got my second steroid shot today. No more bleeding or discharge since last evening.
I'll know if I'm to be sent home after the growth scan today. I guess it's all about the lungs and overall weight.

@MixedCouple2
I see, when you had the mucus plug and bloody show, did you feel any contractions? Or any kind of mild cramping?

ceruleansky · 05/07/2024 08:19

Bloods have shown some kind of infection which could be due to the steroids. So i have been given antibiotics, urine culture will determine if it's a UTI so waiting on that.
I feel fine now and just want to go home tbh. Hope I can go home today, but they're seeing something on the monitoring reports which they're not really telling us.

SapphireSeptember · 05/07/2024 08:20

@ceruleansky 💐 Hopefully they'll work out what's going on. ❤️ Good luck!

Savvy21 · 05/07/2024 08:28

@ceruleansky how many weeks are you? Also wanted to update that baby boy arrived early and c-section went really well. The room was so chilled and they put on some cheesy pop for us haha.
Feel so much better every day than I did after my first natural birth. Just wanted to reassure you as I know, like me, that you are a bit worried about it :-).

Amberellaella · 05/07/2024 08:32

So after much ado, baby Evander (Evan) arrived at about half three this morning ☺️ Will post about my experience with the induction later, when we’ve all had some sleep!

wannabe123 · 05/07/2024 09:16

Congratulations @Savvy21 and @Amberellaella

missmoosh · 05/07/2024 09:37

Congratulations to the new arrivals!!!!

SapphireSeptember · 05/07/2024 09:38

@Savvy21 and @Amberellaella congratulations! 🥳 I hope you and your little ones are doing well. 😁

Anyone got any tips for dealing with acid reflux? I've had milk, loads of Gaviscon (well, Sainsbury's own brand version) and I've been sitting upright and nothing is working. I got two hours sleep last night and I feel miserable. 😟

Sophie3003 · 05/07/2024 09:38

@SapphireSeptember omeprazole from your GP!

ceruleansky · 05/07/2024 09:40

@Savvy21
Oh my goodness!! Congratulations!! So happy for you! 🩵🩵🩵 glad everything went smooth and you had a good experience. Enjoy your cuddles and newborn bubble!
Thank you for the reassurance! Does feel good to hear positive experiences. 😊
I'm 36+3. Section was planned for 37+6. However it looks like the fetal monitoring graph shows I am experiencing mild contractions, even though I don't feel anything. I was 1cm dilated yesterday.
They've given me some drugs to keep baby in for as long as possible and will monitor.
Last night I was told I'm good to go home after today's scan, this morning the reports show erratic contractions and now they're saying I might have an emergency c section tomorrow. So who knows what's going to happen at this point. Just hoping for the best, things are constantly changing.

@Amberellaella
Congratulations to you!! 🩵🩵🩵 Hope you and the baby are doing great and take all the rest you need!!
Love seeing the baby announcements!

SapphireSeptember · 05/07/2024 09:53

@Sophie3003 Thanks! Just phoned them and I'll get a phone call appointment later. I've got some other stuff I got last year but apparently there's not enough evidence to say if it's safe in pregnancy. 🙄 Seems to be a running theme with medication.

Sophie3003 · 05/07/2024 09:54

@SapphireSeptember I think that's the case with a lot of things. Last pregnancy my doctor was risk adverse but my doctor this time is brilliant going through everything and his experiences etc and that's really helpful.

SapphireSeptember · 05/07/2024 10:05

@Sophie3003 Indeed! I've been refused antibiotics by a pharmacy (had to go through 111 online which sent me a to a different pharmacy for the same thing) and they also told me I couldn't take antihistamines, which I later found out is untrue.

Actually shouldn't be surprised, this was the same place where the male pharmacist was horrible to me when I needed the MAP and wanted it on the NHS, because it costs the NHS money. (So do abortions and pregnancy. I'm costing them a hell of a lot more now! 🤣 ) He still works there and I long to ask him how much money he thinks this is all costing them Vs how much the MAP was.

AnonymousXXIX · 05/07/2024 10:36

Wow congratulations @Savvy21 and @Amberellaella ! And love the name Evander so much ❤

@SapphireSeptember you have tried everything I would recommend for reflux. Only other thing is avoiding trigger foods, and eating as long as possible before bedtime. I.e. I don't have any fizzy drinks (current craving help) or sweets at least 4-5 hours before attempting to go to bed; or in fact anything at all in that time except milk, tea or water.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 05/07/2024 11:55

@Savvy21 and @Amberellaella congratulations on your arrivals!! My nephew is an Evan too - lovely name!

SapphireSeptember · 05/07/2024 13:55

@AnonymousXXIX Weirdly having some chewing gum seemed to help?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I managed to go back to sleep for a few hours!
Oh, I was craving Coke and Dr Pepper, but that seems to have gone now. I blamed the phosphoric acid. Although I'll definitely try avoiding late night snacks.
