@justanotherlaura I'm hoping the nesting/cleaning phase will hit me because I have certainly let things slide whilst working full-time. I came home from work and couldn't face it.
Now on leave and am starting to worry about how much I need to do before this baby arrives!

Can’t believe July is here! I’ll find out this week about my induction date, I have to have a planned one due to a health condition. I’ll have some say in the date but not sure whether to aim for sometime during 38 weeks (I’m 36 weeks now) or try and hang on a bit longer until 39 weeks!

@Welshgal85 have you considered sweeps during week 38 and a week 39 induction? Not sure what your health condition is so this may not work for you though.. I have two sweeps booked during my 38th week and induction scheduled for 39 weeks on the dot. 😊 currently 36+2!

I ‘had a fall’ at the weekend. I did the splits and fell on my bum! It shocked me so much perhaps that’s what’s slowed me down. I’m rhesus neg so had to call triage but we decided not to go in and was advised what to look for and watch movements. Take is easy girlies!

39weeks today!! Have woken with constant cramps. I’m really not sleeping at all the past 5 days, it’s torture isn’t it!

ps. Although I’m early/mid 30s, Im here for all the 40+, no one should be judging and it’s non of their biz 🤭

@missmoosh they haven’t mentioned sweeps so going to ask this week. I think I’m going to aim for 39 weeks for induction if I can !

Is anyone else getting this? Sometimes it feels like baby is trying to break out of my tummy like an alien. 🤣 You can't go that way! (Well he can, but he'd need help from a surgeon.) 😁

@SapphireSeptember yes! Although apparently they do it in labour to help themselves move into a good position.

I've got my midwife appointment today where she'll hopefully do a sweep. Hoping this will get things going to avoid next week's induction. I'm getting a bit nervous about how big this baby is going to be! My first was 9lb and 38+4 and I'm now 39+1...

Can't believe July is here! I've got my BFP on November 4th. Feels like it's been forever and yet has gone so fast! We did the last of our shopping (I hope) and DH picked out his first baby clothing item on his own without my input. Of all the things, it was a sleep sack. The one thing I didn't buy (he hasn't seen what I bought) so I guess that completes our shopping. 🤣
36 weeks today!! I'm so nervous and excited. Going to miss all the pregnancy pampering.

I see, well it definitely sounds interesting! I'm sure more people are driven towards a more natural method given the awful experiences women have in hospitals..

Belated Happy Birthday! Hope you had a good one!!

Thought I'd post a quick update. I had a sweep this afternoon and it was fine - no more uncomfortable than any other examination down there. Baby is pretty low but almost back to back (not fully) and my cervix is still 2cm (down from 3) and she could only get 1 finger in. I'm feeling a bit downhearted that I'm still a while away from labour.
Also, when they did a bump measurement it showed a big jump in baby's growth so I am being sent for a growth scan on Thursday to see what is going on.

@wannabe123 cervical change sounds like good progress though! Something is clearly happening…

I had my second sweep yesterday (after a trip to triage because the community mw heard decelerations in baby’s heart rate when she came round to do it 🙄 - he was fine during the longer monitoring period). It was also totally fine again re: discomfort.

Still no action though so it looks like I’m in for the induction tomorrow! Hopefully the two sweeps will have done something to make it easier.

@ceruleansky I like the sound of pregnancy pampering… not something that has ever happened to me, especially not this second time 😂

@AnonymousXXIX sympathise re: relatives - my in laws arrived last Thursday and we’re all already getting under each other’s feet!

Glad they’re here though because our car broke down yesterday and it’s been very handy to have a backup…

I think the pregnancy pampering probably happens only for the first baby and if anyone is getting pampered every pregnancy they're lucky!

@Amberellaella I had a student midwife doing the heart rate and it took her ages partly because the little man kept moving away from the doppler 😅

@Cherubs4 nothing happening here. Had a couple of painful contractions in the night that kept me awake but only had about 4 before they fizzled away

Hey ladies. Been MIA.
DS1 is so unwell last 2 weeks been to the hospital he is doing better but still poorly. I am 37 weeks now! Eaaak. DS1 came 2 days before EDD so possibly 2-2.5weeks left!

Trying to nest but slowed due to poorley DS1. We have renovated a bit and refurnished and I am feeling more prepared.
80% done with batch cooking! So happy we got a good stock.
Bags all packed. Snacks all packed.
Might have a home birth due to issues.eith Childcare but will find out more.in a week.

Congrats to those who have had thier bubbas. I need to go back and have a read and catch up!

Has anyone done Colostrum harvesting?
My midwife said to leave it till 37weeks as if it starts labour I would have to go to consultant led hospital. So I tried lastnight and I managed to get 3 drops from my roght side. Not worth collecting. But tonight going to try again and try to collect. I was so surprised it came out so easily. 1min massage all over and then 30 seconds of hand expressing.
