Hello @SnookyPook @RoseH36 and @Fullofconfusion ! I don’t know if there’s anyone I’ve missed- feel free to add. Just thought it might be nice to have a new space as we’re all fairly similar gestation wise and we’ve been through a fair amount together in the previous thread x

SnookyPook · 05/06/2024 20:26

@RoseH36 currently 30+2!! Yeah I still feel pretty disorganised. We have pram and car seat from my son but I've not checked them over yet and have a horrible feeling they may need replacing... 😬 Job for this weekend to get my head out the sand and actually understand the lay of the land!!

TheBirdintheCave · 06/06/2024 00:35

@SarahB88 I just realised our babies were born on the same day :D

SarahB88 · 06/06/2024 06:16

@TheBirdintheCave aw yay! Birthday twins

Bumblebee413 · 06/06/2024 07:55

That’s great that they’re monitoring you so closely @SnookyPook, but a lot to get your head around as you say. Glad your Mum is supporting you. Fingers crossed little man continues to do well.

@RoseH36 your midwife or GP can give you the form from 20 weeks and it just takes seconds so there’s no reason your midwife won’t give it to you at your appointment xxx

@SnookyPook wow that must have been a bit of a shock. I hope bubba stays nice and comfortable in there for a bit longer for you. Keep growing little one! it’s good that you’re being well monitored though.

@Bumblebee413 I’m 6 years older this time and definitely feeling my age a bit more.

@RoseH36 this is us too! It doesn’t seem real yet despite being halfway there. This baby doesn’t seem as active as the last one as it’s only been the last few days that I’ve been feeling proper kicks. I’ve felt twinges previously but nothing my partner could feel from the outside. Now it’s getting more active on a morning and evening. Still doesn’t feel like it’s happening though. We’ve bought nothing. I have quite a bit from previous baby so there’s less big purchases but we’ve not thought about clothes or anything else yet

RoseH36 · 07/06/2024 11:30

@SnookyPook I'd love to be able to get a new pram but unlikely with the costs. We've got a Cosatta which I loved the look of but in my Fiesta it's not practical. It doesn't fold small like other prams I've seen, the unit will only fit in my boot sideways so I had to take the actual pram bit off and put that on the passenger seat.

@Bumblebee413 thank you. Hubby will just have to be quick getting organised and sending it off.

@Fullofconfusion glad that's not just me, mine is mostly active when I'm I'm bed in the morning or an evening. Keep prodding my stomach every now and then in the day to try and get a reaction so I know they are ok. Hubby has felt the odd movement but although some seem strong to me they aren't enough for him to feel properly yet.

Fullofconfusion · 08/06/2024 09:52

@RoseH36 i have a cosatto too and it’s huge folded down! Haven’t actually tried it in the car boot yet but hopefully it’ll fit as I have a larger car this time around.

RoseH36 · 08/06/2024 19:32

@Fullofconfusion they are lovely but not the most practical. Then again I'm also thinking it's not used for that long really and we're likely to use hubby's car more than mine so may not be too much of an issue.

Bumblebee413 · 17/06/2024 10:21

How was the scan @SnookyPook ? X

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 17/06/2024 10:32

@Bumblebee413 ah thanks for asking! Sorry I forgot to update the thread. So, scan was positive. He'd put on ~1lb in 2wks so was measuring 3lbs3oz at 31+4. Still <3rd centile but adequate growth for them to be happy with leaving him be. Also Dopplers/arteries/fluid etc all looking good. Current plan (if nothing changes again!!) is to deliver 'by 37wks' i.e. probably during my 36th week of pregnancy..! (a month away!!) Next growth scan at 33+4 to check in again.

Currently mulling over induction versus C-section... My instinct is veering towards the latter I think as can't see my body going into labour happily so early (my son came at 41+1 after a couple of sweeps..) and also I'm a bit worried about putting him through a potentially long labour/exhausting birth process when he's so dinky... However consultant seemed to think I'd have good chances with induction as my first was vaginal. I'm just conscious of hearing so many stories of inductions going south and being heavily medicalised or ending in section anyway... So.. we'll see! If anyone has experience to share I'll happily hear it!

I am finding it all a bit stressful - particularly the movement monitoring which they emphasize at every appointment is extra important now given his size and any change to go in etc. It feels like quite a burden and I'm struggling at times. Just wanting him here safely. Good news is, 32wks today! And I do at least feel pretty confident that even if he were to suddenly appear this week, his chances would be very good. So, holding on to that 🙏🏼

How is everyone else getting on? Xx

Bumblebee413 · 17/06/2024 14:02

That’s really great news @SnookyPook- excellent baby growing! Thank you for the update. I absolutely get what you’re saying in terms of pressure. Even just ‘standard’ pregnancy responsibility can feel like a huge weight at times. X

Ladies I need to bow out of this thread (and mumsnet) for a while. Unfortunately my story although halfway through doesn’t have a happy ending. I am beyond devastated.

I wish you all the very best of wishes with your pregnancies. You all deserve the happiness so much. Take care and give your little ones an extra big squeeze when they arrive

Bumblebee413 · 17/06/2024 21:53

@Fullofconfusion I am so very sorry. Sending so much love to you and your family. That was incredibly strong of you for coming on here to update us at such a difficult time. Wish I could give you a squeeze right back. You are an incredible woman, it has been a privilege sharing our journeys together and I just want to say that you deserve every happiness too. There is a podcast ‘The Other Mothers’ and for when you feel ready, it has been an incredible source of inspiration and comfort for me xxx

@Fullofconfusion I'm so very very sorry to hear that. Sending you tons of love. 😞💗

RoseH36 · 18/06/2024 08:10

@Fullofconfusion nooo 😪😪 I am lost for words for you and can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling right now. You know we're all here for you if you need anything ♥️

RoseH36 · 24/06/2024 18:34

How's everyone doing? I'm having a really emotional day today. Fed up with GD, I'm down to about 2 lunches I can tolerate and they are only just about giving me good readings. SPD is now leaving me pretty much housebound. Haven't even been able to get out to do the weekly shop for weeks as it's too much walking. Work is peeing me off too but that's a whole other issue.
Pregnancy is flippin hard going 😪
Hope everyone else is doing better x

SnookyPook · 24/06/2024 18:42

@RoseH36 aw bless you that sounds so tough. Sometimes all the emotions hit at once and you just need a good cry! I did that the other day and it was quite cathartic! That said, I really can't complain as physically I'm doing pretty good. Definitely heavier and slower but no major grumbles. 33wks today and my little man is likely to be here within a month as they want him delivered by 37wks! Very surreal. Finishing work next week (using some AL ahead of Mat Leave) and can't wait.

Is there anything you can do that would cheer you up a bit @RoseH36 ? A good film and a nice footbath or something? Hope you feel a bit brighter asap. Although it's tough, there is and end in sight and it will all be worth it once you're passed that finish line. 💗

RoseH36 · 24/06/2024 18:50

@SnookyPook I feel a bit like a tap, now I've started it keeps coming on waves, not even sure why I'm crying some of the time 😅. Oh wow! You're so close to the end now, bet you can't wait. I still need to work out when to start mat leave, being self employed it feels harder to suss all that side of things out. I've got someone who will oversee my business alongside hers so probably need a chat with her about when she'd want to start taking over. 26 weeks now so third trimester starts next week 😊

That's a good idea, I definitely need some kind of pick me up to try and snap out of this mood x

SouthwestSis · 24/06/2024 19:01

Ah @RoseH36 that sounds so tough!! Are you on any GD meds yet? Having such a restricted diet can be so miserable, the only thing that helped me last pregnancy was remembering every single mealtime that it's for the baby, but it's such a hard slog.
I was really pleased to pass my first GTT last week but I will be having another in 6 or 7 weeks.

I'm nearly 20 weeks now and have a horrible viral infection and feeling completely wiped out. Had to call in sick for work tomorrow, having real difficulty sleeping, throat feels like razorblades.
Have my scan on Monday and hoping to find out gender so that's something to look forward to.
The one silver lining of the horrible viral lurgy is I am resting more which is helping my SPD.

RoseH36 · 24/06/2024 19:08

@SouthwestSis I'm on metformin, although yesterday and today I've had high fasting readings. The only thing I've done differently is have a GD brownie on those 2 evenings which are from the GD website so don't need pairing. I even spike tested the one last night and readings were fine. Won't have one tonight though and see what the reading is tomorrow, if its still high I'll have to stet having 2 metformin. It's a really hard slog, having it for 9 weeks was tough enough last time but getting so early this time has been hard. Fingers crossed you manage to avoid it this time.

Hope you're better soon, there seems to be some quite nasty bugs doing the rounds, do wonder if because the weather stayed so miserable for so much longer it's kept the bugs going round. How exciting you haven't got long to wait until you know what you're having 😁

SouthwestSis · 26/06/2024 09:02

Turns out my viral lurgy is covid and now im kicking myself that I didn't get a jab in time before catching it in pregnancy!

Don't know if it's the particular covid strain or because I'm pregnant but it feels so much worse than last time I had covid. Rotten to be having fevers when the weather is so lovely outside but I can barely get out of bed.

Really hope I'm going to be well enough to get to my scan on Monday!

SnookyPook · 26/06/2024 10:37

@SouthwestSis sorry to hear that! Hope you feel lots better soon and definitely for scan on Monday 💗

RoseH36 · 26/06/2024 14:06

@SouthwestSis oh no 😪hope you're feeling better soon. Can't imagine the heat is helping on top of being pregnant too.

Bumblebee413 · 04/07/2024 08:13

@SouthwestSis I’m so sorry- what a rubbish time to get Covid! How are you feeling now? Did you make it to the scan?

@RoseH36 that all sounds so hard. I’m not surprised that you’ve been feeling low. I always found lunchtimes the hardest meal too. I’d get into a sort of indecision paralysis then become quite tearful because I knew I had to eat and I was hungry but everything I wanted was off limits. Well done for spot testing the brownies. Have your diabetes team been supportive/ looked at things for you?

@SnookyPook how are you? How is mat leave going?

I’ve just reserved a birth pool for a hopeful home birth and it feels so strange- like it might actually happen/ as though I’ve tempted fate! 27 weeks this week and feeling it.

@Bumblebee413 aw how exciting!

Mat leave started yesterday! 🥳 Wasn't the most restful day as toddler was home with me with spiking temps bless him but it's nice to just properly switch off from work brain and focus on last prep etc. Scan this afternoon (Doppler check) then next growth scan a week tomorrow at 35+4 and then... The week after may be go time...!! Not ready and so ready at the same time! Eek!!
