Hello @SnookyPook @RoseH36 and @Fullofconfusion ! I don’t know if there’s anyone I’ve missed- feel free to add. Just thought it might be nice to have a new space as we’re all fairly similar gestation wise and we’ve been through a fair amount together in the previous thread x

I can’t believe it’s nearly time @SnookyPook! So excited for you. Such a longed for baby. Is your little one feeling better today? Definitely doesn’t sound like the most relaxing first day. Hope that the scan goes well this afternoon xxx

@Bumblebee413 lunchtimes are definitely the hardest ones. Keep telling myself it's not much longer now and then I'm treating myself with something really gooey and chocolatey 😂😂. I don't ever hear from the team, they do keep a weekly check on my levels as I get a notification on the app. Got a consultant appointment next week which I think I'll have a growth scan at.

Ooo that's exciting! Hope everything goes to plan so you can have a homebirth. 27 weeks here too, applied for my maternity allowance today and have baby's wardrobe and drawers arriving tomorrow so can then have a good sort out of all the stuff we've kept hold of.

@SouthwestSis How are you feeling now?

@SnookyPook hope your toddler is feeling a bit better today.

SnookyPook · 04/07/2024 16:55

@Bumblebee413 @RoseH36 thanks he's lots better today and has been with my MiL and FiL most of the day who are now also cooking us dinner so a much better day! All looking good at the scan too 😊 Really need to sort last bits and bobs now though it's all getting very close!

So exciting to hear where you guys are up to too! Into those third trimesters...!!

RoseH36 · 05/07/2024 13:20

@SnookyPook so glad he's feeling better and you had a better day too. Great news about the scan! It does creep up on you doesn't it? It hadn't really occurred to me how close it was getting until I was doing a holiday booking a couple of days back for someone going September and it was full payment as within 12 weeks of travel. Thought that can't be right then checked the dates, made me then realise how close my due date actually is 😂

RoseH36 · 20/07/2024 17:12

How's everyone doing? How many weeks are you all now? I hit the 30 mark tomorrow so almost down to single figures. Been booked for a section at 41 weeks if things don't happen naturally before then (they best do, I really don't want a section).

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2024 21:37

We're good :) M is nine weeks old now! 😱 Currently asleep on me 😂 She's slept through the last two nights in a row and a few random times over the last few weeks so we're hoping the full night's sleep will continue! 😬

RoseH36 · 21/07/2024 07:56

@TheBirdintheCave wow! Those 9 weeks have flown by. Fingers crossed she's a good sleeper for you, it certainly sounds like she likes her sleep 😊

Bumblebee413 · 22/07/2024 08:37

That’s so lovely to hear @TheBirdintheCave! It makes it all feel quite real to me too! All ok here, can’t believe I’m going to hit 30 weeks tomorrow. All starting to feel quite close. In a good way at least. How is the SPD @RoseH36? How are you doing @SnookyPook? @VixFromThe6ix how are things? X

@Bumblebee413 it's crazy isn't it? After feeling like we wouldn't get this far and now just 10 weeks left. It's not too bad thank you, been taking things really easy. In some kind of pain everyday but coping better than last time. Have been referred for physio so will see if they offer any advice different to last time. How are things for you? You've got GD too haven't you or have I imagined that?

SnookyPook · 22/07/2024 16:42

Thanks everyone! Well, He's here safe and sound! C-section at lunchtime today, 37wjs on the dot! So in love 🥰 5lbs7oz which is officially 2nd centile! But he seems so strong and not as tiny as I'd feared! I'm doing well. Surgery was really positive and we've been very well looked after. 💙 We think we're going with Samuel Arthur but just feeling it out!!

RoseH36 · 23/07/2024 14:52

@SnookyPook congratulations to you all 🥰. I'm so pleased everything went well for you and you're both doing well. That's a gorgeous name and a good weight too 💙.
I worked out today I'll ne stopping work in 7 weeks on Friday, at 37 weeks. Which is quite mad given that's when you had him. Now thinking I should be finishing earlier 😂. I had DS at 39 weeks.

VixFromThe6ix · 23/07/2024 16:28

@Bumblebee413 hiiii

Thanks! Ha I'd originally requested to start Mat Leave at 39wks but brought it forward when they started mentioning him coming early. Had some AL to use up too so actually moved Mat Leave start date to 22nd July - coincidentally, little man's actual birthday!

Bumblebee413 · 24/07/2024 18:36

Oh my goodness! Welcome little boys! So glad to hear it went smoothly for you @SnookyPook and a gorgeous name choice too 😍 how are you feeling?

Congratulations @VixFromThe6ix! How is your elder one finding it all?

I’ve been lucky this time so far @RoseH36, I’m 30/40 and GD free, but wasn’t diagnosed until 34/40 last time. Keeping my fingers crossed! X

@SnookyPook @VixFromThe6ix Congratulations to you both! So glad your little ones are here safe :D

VixFromThe6ix · 25/07/2024 09:11

Thank you @TheBirdintheCave and @Bumblebee413 !!

Congratulations @SnookyPook !!

Its still surreal to me that im a mom of two now lol

My toddler is obsessed with the baby in good and bad way. Sometimes hes sweet to him and sometimes he isnt. Poor baby is getting smacked and scratched 😭 who knew this would be the hardest part of having two (so far)

SnookyPook · 25/07/2024 23:31

@VixFromThe6ix ah congratulations to you too! 🥰 We're still in hospital at the moment as little man has a touch of jaundice but hoping to get him home soon! He's so tiny and adorable 🥰 Completely in love! 🤗

SnookyPook · 25/07/2024 23:37

@Bumblebee413 @TheBirdintheCave thank you so much! Feeling pretty good actually - pleasantly surprised by the section recovery so far and feeling glad about the choice I made - particularly as in our case, the growth scans weren't wrong and I think induced labour would have been very stressful for him. Hope you are well!

RoseH36 · 26/07/2024 07:56

@VixFromThe6ix Congratulations! Just boys so far in the group then? I'm convinced I'm having another boy as I'm carrying exactly the same as last time although I know that doesn't mean anything. I'm sure your toddler will settle down, it's a huge change for them to process. My 4 year old is so excited about the idea of baby, I just hope in reality he'll be ok with it.

@SnookyPook how funny ending up starting mat leave the day he actually arrived! Glad your recovery is going well so far, I struggled with mine so hoping I won't need a section this time but we'll see, I can't change whatever needs to happen. Hope you'll be home soon.

@Bumblebee413 fingers crossed you avoid GD this time. It was 30 weeks I was diagnosed last time. I seem to be tolerating things better this time round, my porridge is still fine so far for breakfast, last time all I could manage was egg. I also seem to be able to eat quite a bit of ice cream with no spikes so making the most of that!

VixFromThe6ix · 26/07/2024 09:10

@SnookyPook aw! I hope you go home soon ! We were held at the hospital an extra day because i had some infection in my blood test so i was hooked up to iv to take antibiotics. I had to wait 24hrs to retest. and they even hooked up my newborn as a precaution while waiting for the blood test results for him. It was seriously the worst thing to see his little hand with iv in it receiving antiobiotics. I honestly was so haply to receive an all clear and leave.

@RoseH36 it does feel like everyone is baving boys haha. Im guessing you chose to keep it a surprise? Thats super sweet and im envious of your will power. My curiousity would have eaten me alive haha. Hope your 4yr old is nicer to the baby than my son is. Its honestly heartbreaking to see him hurt his baby brother. I know he loves him but he acts out as is age appropriate. My poor little potato.

TheBirdintheCave · 26/07/2024 09:17

@RoseH36 I had a girl :) She was a surprise and I was 100% expecting to have a second son. Shock of my life when I unwrapped her to see!

RoseH36 · 26/07/2024 15:13

@TheBirdintheCave I'll be so surprised if it's a girl too. My mom keeps winding me up and referring to it as 'she' all the time 😂

@VixFromThe6ix it really does. I think almost everyone I know has had a boy recently. Haha yep, no idea how we've resisted finding out. When we did an NCT class first time round there was only 1 other couple out of 6 who didn't find out. Out of the 6 mine was the only boy! That must be hard to see but it will be a big change for him when he's been used to having you to himself.

N123C · 26/07/2024 15:32

Hi
I'm 44, currently 7+ weeks

SouthwestSis · 26/07/2024 16:32

Welcome @N123C !
And congratulations to those of you who've had new arrivals!
I'm 23+5 today, finally feeling over the bought of covid I had a few weeks ago, had a midwife appointment today and had 1+ glucose in my wee for the first time this pregnancy so feeling a bit deflated about that.
Was 31ish weeks when I got GD last time so was hoping to have some time left with my love affair with carbs!
I have my repeat GTT a week on Monday.

I know I'm having a girl, just struggling with names now!
My best friend is also due to adopt in August and its looking like she's getting a girl so that's exciting.

RoseH36 · 27/07/2024 21:27

@N123C welcome and congratulations.

@SouthwestSis Glad to hear you're on the mend and congratulations on it being a girl 🥰. We're struggling with girls names, got 1 boys name we're set on so sorted if it's another boy. It is a harder slog getting GD early. It was 30 weeks last time when I was diagnosed. That being said though it's gone quick and you soon get back into the habit with things. It seems to have really helped keep my weight down too, I don't look like I've put loads on like I did last time.
