Hello @SnookyPook @RoseH36 and @Fullofconfusion ! I don’t know if there’s anyone I’ve missed- feel free to add. Just thought it might be nice to have a new space as we’re all fairly similar gestation wise and we’ve been through a fair amount together in the previous thread x

@VixFromThe6ix so exciting! Not long for you at all now.

@TheBirdintheCave good luck! Hope all goes well for you.

@SnookyPook that seems to have gone really quickly! Great to hear you're nearly at the final trimester.

All good here, I'm 19+4, can't quite believe I'm nearly half way. 20 week scan next Wednesday. Getting plenty of flutters now but only if I sit in certain positions, I find when working as I'm sitting more upright I can feel it loads. I did read that between week 19-20 there's a growth of 10cm which seems a lot so hoping I'll be able to start feeling little kicks soon.

SouthwestSis · 11/05/2024 20:07

Hi all, had my dating scan yesterday and all looked well, was bang on with dates so I'm 12+5 today,
Had my screening bloods taken and nuchal thickness looked fine.
I'm even starting to feel a little bit less crap! And feeling proud of myself for managing 50hrs at work this week that I wasn't sure I could manage. Have tomorrow off before another 13hr shift on Monday.

No appointments now until midwife and Glucose tolerance at 16 weeks

Bumblebee413 · 15/05/2024 09:05

Really great news @SouthwestSis! Hope that your scan goes well today @RoseH36, I have mine too- pregnancy twins! 😂 x

@SouthwestSis well done getting through that amount of hours, glad your scan went well and fingers crossed your sugars are fine with the glucose test.

@Bumblebee413 how was yours? Ours was all good, everything as it should be. The movement has increased the last couple of days and feels more like little kicks now. The SPD has sadly also ramped up the last few days, spent the weekend in Wales to replace our Spain holiday, was the right decision as I was in agony Saturday after just a bit of walking Friday so never left the caravan on Sunday. Was a shame to miss out on doing things with DS and hubby but couldn't be helped. Still diet controlled so far with GD although my fasting readings were high over the weekend from poor sleep with the SPD. Only 20 weeks to go 😂😂

Bumblebee413 · 15/05/2024 20:31

I’m sorry to hear about your pain. Well done on the camping call.

The scan went well and we decided to ask them to write down what it was on paper, as we were about 90% sure we wanted to find out. They said they wouldn’t do it because if people did it for baby showers and they got it wrong then it would come back on them. We said it wasn’t for a gender reveal but that we were happy for them to tell us. The baby was in an awkward position, so they said 70% chance it was a girl. I’m feeling so weirdly deflated by the lack of certainty but I can’t find any logic in my emotions 😂

If they’d said they had no idea that kind of would have been better? As in, we were happy not knowing to be honest and happy knowing, but kind of knowing 70% makes it feel weird. Like we’ve half got news? But not?

The idea of my daughter having a little sister is lovely- she will be so very excited (although tbf she’s so excited regardless!) and the thing I am drawing joy from is how lovely it was to hear that they were healthy. Just, feels a little odd if that makes any sense at all? It doesn’t to me, but here I am 😂

Just checking in as I’ve been a bit quiet. Baby seems to be cooking well. I’ll be 18 weeks on Wednesday and my bump is growing. I’ve just got back from a short holiday and had to buy all new swimwear to go with as no chance of fitting into the previous bikinis!

How is everyone doing?

SouthwestSis · 20/05/2024 21:05

I'm curious if you have any news @TheBirdintheCave , how are you doing?

And @VixFromThe6ix you must be pretty much term?

How was the holiday @Fullofconfusion ? I'm very jealous!

I'll be honest I've had a really tough week, am 14w today and was hoping to start feeling more myself but my mood has been all over the place, I've been eating crap and so gaining more weight than I should, bump is huge (like the size I was at 25/26w in first pregnancy) and I'm just so fed up and feel a bit overwhelmed with how far I have still yet to go!

TheBirdintheCave · 21/05/2024 07:03

@SouthwestSis After a 47 hour labour with a very fast ending my little girl, Marcella, was born on Friday the 17th at 7.06 weighing 7lb 1oz 🥰

Oh congratulations!! What lovely news! 🥰😍💗 Is this our first little rainbow to be born in the group? Welcome to the world little Marcella 🌈💗🙏🏼💕

RoseH36 · 21/05/2024 18:51

@TheBirdintheCave Welcome to the world Marcella, congratulations. I hope you're both doing well 🩷

@Fullofconfusion hope you had a lovely time away. Mine seemed to really grow from 18 weeks, now 21+2 and it looks quite big.

@SouthwestSis hope you're feeling a bit better today, hormones will be all over the place so normal to feel very up and down. You can lose any weight afterwards so don't worry too much about that.

SarahB88 · 22/05/2024 06:31

Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in to say I had my baby on Friday 🥰 she was born via c section at 39+5. I had to call triage with reduced movements on Wednesday, no one was 100% happy with the CTG reading so it was agreed that due to how far on I was that baby needed out. Won’t go in to all the details as that’s on the due in May thread!

Very proud first time mum at 36 and would do it all again in a heartbeat if we are lucky enough to get pregnant quickly again when we try for number 2 in a couple of years.

SnookyPook · 22/05/2024 10:09

@SarahB88 ah congratulations! That's lovely news! So exciting that the babies are starting to arrive! 🥰 Hope you're recovering well - sounds like it must have been a bit of a whirlwind! Welcome to the world little one 💗☺️

RoseH36 · 22/05/2024 17:18

@SarahB88 congratulations 🎊 hope you're both doing well x

Fullofconfusion · 25/05/2024 10:10

@SouthwestSis it was a lovely break. Think I’ve had the holiday blues since I got back, really down and sensitive. Pregnancy hormones playing a huge part of that I think! Sounds like you’ve been feeling very much the same. I’m still waiting for this 2nd trimester glow! Haha

Huge congratulations @TheBirdintheCave and @SarahB88

SouthwestSis · 27/05/2024 14:02

Still no second trimester glow here but starting to feel not quite so terrible, though I'm sure night shifts coming up won't help. How's everyone else doing?

RoseH36 · 27/05/2024 19:57

My skin is looking quite healthy at the moment but think it's more to do with buying Liz Earle's glow range rather than 2nd trimester 😂

Fullofconfusion · 28/05/2024 11:55

My skin is pretty good too. Just the rest of me doesn’t feel very glowy! Haha

I also think I’m starting with SPD. I had it badly in my first pregnancy and I’ve been feeling very achey in my back and groin the past few days. I think I need to speak to the midwife about referring me for physio. Has anyone else suffered and found a good solution?

RoseH36 · 29/05/2024 16:59

@Fullofconfusion mine flared up several weeks back. The only thing I've found that helps is basically not moving too much 😂. I work from home so in that sense it's easier than first time round where I was signed off work sick by now (I'm 22+3).

Little changes I've made that help are:

  • Getting hubby to do the food shop
  • Not bending down to clean out our rabbits hutch, I do the top and hubby does the bottom (he has a 2 story hutch)
  • Putting underwear in a different drawer so I'm not bending down like I usually do
  • Using a chair in the shower. I inherited my nan's when she went into a care home last time when I was pregnant and it was a total game changer for showering
  • Cushion between my legs at night and basically having to support my hips when turning over.
Bumblebee413 · 01/06/2024 18:26

Congratulations @TheBirdintheCave and @SarahB88 !! So exciting!! Welcome little ones x

Thank you @RoseH36

I’m so down about it. I’m a really active person and I absolutely hate being unable to do things but I’m realising that I need to limit myself. I have a horse and was hoping to keep riding quietly for another couple of months. I managed to get to about 27 weeks last time around but I guess I’m older now too. After yesterday’s ride I’m thinking I may need to hang up my boots until after baby has arrived.

My hormones are all over too. What a rollercoaster this pregnancy is! 20 weeks tomorrow. Halfway there!

Bumblebee413 · 05/06/2024 12:13

Twenty weeks! 💛 Lovely news @Fullofconfusion, but I’m so sorry to hear that you’re suffering with the SPD.

I’m 23 and very much feeling the drawbacks of being far less fit
before this pregnancy. I want to say it’s because I’m four years older but I suspect it’s because my joints and muscles are much laxer and I really wasn’t doing any exercise before this baby at all.

Have you all got your MATB1 forms yet? I see the midwife next Tuesday at 24+2. Hubby needs to have this with his employer by 25 weeks latest so he's panicking a bit.

All well here but came down with a cold a couple of days ago so feeling extra tired.

@Fullofconfusion it's so hard having to deal with it. It does kick in sooner with subsequent pregnancies. Have you got any painkillers prescribed if it gets really bad? I've been given co-codamol. Only needed it twice so far but good to have for days where it's not manageable at all just to take the edge off.

SnookyPook · 05/06/2024 14:39

Ah happy 20wks @Fullofconfusion ! Congratulations on halfway!! Sorry you're struggling a bit though. Hope you manage to keep on top of it.

@RoseH36 can't quite remember when mine came through but pretty sure I had it by then - feel like it was closer to 20wks.

Think I forgot to update this thread but have had a bit of a stressful few days although feeling better now I've had time to process. At our last growth scan on Friday, little man's growth had stalled a bit. Consultant requested bi-weekly scans going forward to check uterine arteries, amniotic fluid etc and said that if growth hasn't picked up by the next growth scan (Friday 14th) or if there are any other signs of distress, they might be looking to get little man out around the 33/34wk mark...! Obviously threw me a lot but as I say, feeling a bit more on top of things now. We had our first check in yesterday and thankfully arteries/fluid etc all looking good still and Babba looked happy in there. We'll just have to see how things look at the next growth scan!! So all a bit up in the air. Have bought loads of stuff for the hospital bag, and my Mum rocked up with some tiny baby clothes which I've now washed and got ready (!! Soooooo small!!) but... Also hoping he will have a bit of a spurt and manage to stay in until at least 35/36 wks.. we'll see!!

RoseH36 · 05/06/2024 15:25

@SnookyPook will try and call the midwife to check we can get it at our appointment next week.

That does sound very stressful, fingers crossed everything stays on track for you and baby has a growth spurt. How many weeks are you now? I feel like we're still in denial with a lot of it, haven't even started looking yet at what we need to buy this time round. I know we need a wardrobe and drawers but that's as far as I've thought 😂
