Thank you @Sa11yCinnamon @LondonGirl1992 , just to give you all an update, I had another scan today, baby has picked up growth, foetal weight(FW) and abdominal circumference(AC) has improved a lot. We are very much relived as you can imagine.
Anyone in the future reading this ( because of being told that AC and FW being low), I increased my protein intake ( ~80 to 100g) and I think it has helped a lot ( I am a vegetarian).

Hope you guys are all well, I can finally enjoy the pregnancy again 🙂!

that's great news! ❤️
now you can relax a little and enjoy 🥰

This is so lovely to read- I’d been thinking about you lots and hoping all was well with bump! ❤️🥰

LondonGirl1992 · 27/02/2024 16:53

For those of you who have had your bump measurement taken at the 28 week midwife appt- how did yours measure? Im on the 96th percentile which is quite terrifying 🤣🤣

Emmacb82 · 27/02/2024 17:32

I had mine last week when I was 27+5 and was measuring 29 weeks, think she said they only worry if it measures 3 weeks more or less. They didn’t do it on percentiles so no idea what it was.

I haven’t been measured by the midwife yet as all my appointments are just after actual growth scans but looking at other posts on here talk about how inaccurate they can be

SarahB88 · 27/02/2024 20:38

I’ve got my 28 week appointment on Thursday. At my 24 week appointment I was measuring below the 50th percentile and I don’t think I’ve grown a huge amount so I’m expecting to be about the same. I feel huge but everyone keeps saying how neat/small my bump is. Baby was measuring below 50th on a scan too so I seem to be matching up but will see if there’s an update.

Is anyone else starting to feel pressure in the vagina? I feel like it’s too early for this feeling but I don’t have any other way of describing it! I feel like baby is right in my pelvis. I’ve always felt like she’s coming early but I’m not ready for her to be this early!

junebuglb · 27/02/2024 22:51

Had my 28 wk appointment today too, measuring just above 50th percentile for now. I definitely got the impression it can be inaccurate. Two midwives measured me a few times and essentially went somewhere in the middle. I’m sure it’s not a perfect science @LondonGirl1992 as I feel utterly huge for 28 weeks and was expecting to hear baby was big today!

@SarahB88 I have been feeling pressure low in my pelvis for a couple of weeks now too. At today’s check up they felt around & explained where baby was lay (still in her wonky lump position!) and I was surprised at just how far down her head was when they were feeling it. Right around pubic bone, lower than I had assumed. This made lots of sense to me with the heavy/uncomfy sensations when walking etc! Somehow I think we have a good few more weeks of this yet… 😊

Sa11yCinnamon · 28/02/2024 13:36

@SarahB88 yes I'm definitely feeling pressure! And sort of like I have a groin strain all of the time.

@Athena1984 I've just seen your update, that's brilliant news! So pleased for you.

Had my 28 week appointment and growth scan today, baby sitting just above 50th percentile so all perfect for now. I thought "aww look that's his face, he's yawning" just as the sonographer said "that's his waist and there's his stomach" 😂

He was in a really weird diagonal position which explains the random mix of movement I've been feeling! The midwife asked if I wanted her to feel my bump or if I was happy with the scan and I said I was happy with the scan, she said feeling it wouldn't really add anything.

Also saw the consultant for the first time who was really lovely and reassuring - I'd felt like I was going a bit mad after being told different things at different appointments but she made it all make sense. So all good, and back in four weeks 😊

SarahB88 · 28/02/2024 17:45

@Sa11yCinnamon and @junebuglb so glad I’m not the only one with pressure! I was getting quite worried that she was on her way!

I feel like I’ve had braxon hicks all day today 😂 I’ve not but any time I stop it comes on! My leaky bath has been fixed today so I’m looking forward to a little soak this evening, hopefully help with the vile piles too.

I’ve got my 28 week midwife appointment tomorrow morning. Did anyone else have bloods done at theirs? I’ve been told I’m getting a lot tomorrow but I’m on extra monitoring so these might be my extra tests they said I’d get with my pre-existing conditions and history.

PurplePastaBake · 28/02/2024 18:50

I had bloods last week as part of my routine 28 week appointment.

Clarkey34 · 28/02/2024 22:25

We've spent the afternoon with an unplanned visit to the pregnancy assessment unit. I hadn't felt movement since 8pm last night & I was feeling ropey with headaches too, so was told to go in for monitoring.
All is fine, we got another scan which was nice. She is weighing 3lb 14oz, she has put 1lb on in 2 weeks! I'm hoping the growth slows down a little otherwise, she is gonna be a BIG baby 😂

They like to worry us don't they?!

Glad to hear everyone else is doing OK. I don't post often, but I read all the posts.

Feels so strange that baby is due in 10 weeks time, doesn't feel that long ago when we found out at 4weeks.

GratefulMum10 · 29/02/2024 08:04

We haven't got anything yet for the baby! So we will start now but want to keep it to bare essentials initially and then after ppl get us stuff we can get more. Going to baby show at exel on Saturday so looking forward to it.

@Emmacb82 similar to you I had my appt at 27+6 and they said baby was measuring 29weeks. I think it is within the range so they weren't worried and now it's about seeing the trajectory from future measurements. Although they said the baby def isn't small and you don't need to worry about eating for 2! As a small frame body I was surprised but I think key is how the baby continues to grow.

Sa11yCinnamon · 29/02/2024 09:25

@SarahB88 yes I had three sets of blood taken yesterday and a call this morning saying I've to start iron tablets, very efficient!

@Clarkey34 glad all is ok, that must have been a worry x

I had my 28 week appointment today, GTT and bloods.
My belly measured 30 weeks, which I was expecting as I know I'm carrying more fluid than normal.
The midwife started talking about perineal massage and expressing colostrum... I thought all that was still very far away!

I'm starting to look into breastfeeding... I signed up for this Thompson method online videos, I hope they're useful!
Lots to take in and prepare before the baby arrives!! I wish I could stop work now...

Nelliepledge · 29/02/2024 12:55

I found the thread at last 😂 was wondering why everyone had gone so quiet on the old one hahah.

Glad everyone's doing okay and having happy scans! Out of interest, has anybody been to the hospital for reduced fetal movements at all? I just was curious as yesterday the baby was quieter than usual until afternoon time when she was a hive of activity again. I was going to call the midwives when there was a break at work but thankfully didn't have to in the end. Just wondered if anyone knew what degree of reduced movements is actually a concern? Sending love to you all X x x

SarahB88 · 29/02/2024 13:00

No bump measurement for me today because I have a scan on Monday so they’ll do a measurement there. I should have had my scan this week but they couldn’t get me in so I’ll actually be 29 weeks when they’re doing it.

Babys head is really low down so midwife wasn’t surprised about the pressure I’m getting and asked if I’m getting braxton hicks too, I am so she says this is just all good signs that baby is on the way soon. Heartbeat is so strong and we were both surprised how quickly it was located! Baby is a bit transverse but still plenty time to move. She kicked the midwife 🙈

Got my bloods done and should get the results tomorrow or Monday. I don’t need to be tested fully for diabetes, they’re just doing the mini test in the bloods they’ve taken. I have to get more bloods taken at my next appointment too. Antenatal classes start in April!

Sa11yCinnamon · 29/02/2024 15:30

@Nelliepledge posting the leaflet I got on movement in case it helps x

@Nina7 i just saved a video on perineal massage on instagram… it said to start around 34 weeks so I’ve a few weeks to come to terms with the concept 🤣

Clarkey34 · 29/02/2024 16:20

@Nelliepledge I went in yesterday with reduced movements. I'd not felt baby from 8pm the previous night, which was very unusual.
I rang the unit & explained they asked me lots of questions & made the decision for me to go in and be monitored. They'd sooner you ring them, than worry about it. Normally they say anything that is reduced movement after 26 weeks, needs looking at.

PeppedUp · 29/02/2024 16:28

@Nina7 I did antenatal colostrum expressing last time and it worked so well for us. It took some of the pressure off breastfeeding in the early days because my partner could do occasional feeds during cluster feeding. It also helped flush out my son’s jaundice. I think it also gave me more confidence for breastfeeding.

I had my 28w appointment today as well and found out my GTT was fine. Midwife said baby’s back is along one side of my tummy and feet are on the other side but she didn’t say which way up he was. Looking forward to appointments becoming more regular and everything feeling closer.

cosylife · 29/02/2024 16:58

Hi ladies! Hope you’re all well!

Just received my C-section date of 24th May - super excited 😊

Is anyone on clexane injections? Just been prescribed them in my latest consultant appointment. Daily injections from now until 4 weeks post birth 😩

venus93 · 29/02/2024 17:10

Hiya all, happy to hear all the positive stories, had a private scan on the weekend at 27+1 and baby was head down in the correct position for birth! I did feel a change in her movements the day before along with a lot of twisting and she no longer lumps in the bottom left corner. I was hoping to have a vaginal delivery so all good news (although she can still turn again!) but placenta is still quite low lying, 1cm from cervix so wont know for sure if I can until my next scan at 32weeks. For those going for c-section is anyone doing it/previously done it purely for elective reasons? Trying to convince myself of the pros of c-section in case I end up going that route! I was measured at my 24w appointment and she said it should correspond in cm plus or minus 3 weeks.

PeppedUp · 01/03/2024 07:32

@cosylife I’m not taking them now but but did after my son was born. As a recovering needlephobe I didn’t really enjoy it so really empathise with you having to take them for such a long time. Congrats on your due date though 🙂

SarahB88 · 01/03/2024 10:51

My midwife has contacted me this morning as some of my blood results have come back. I’ve got extremely low blood sugars. Just waiting for the rest of the results to come back to hear what needs to be done.

Has anyone else had this in this pregnancy or other pregnancies? I’ve only ever heard of high blood sugar in pregnancy so not really sure what this means!
