I was 3cm at the last check so waiting for a bed on labour ward 🥳 and just lost my plug too. Apologies for all this detail, think I've lost my mind slightly!

@Sa11yCinnamon Oh Lovely - That sounds absolutely awful but hopefully it will all be over soon! Thinking of you x

I'm sorry to hear it's been so difficult so far, hope you're a lot more comfortable soon! You'll be meeting your baby before you know it.

No movement here at all, how about you @venus93 and @Nelliepledge ?

DH and I took a walk this morning, did some hypnobirthing on the beach, I feel nicely relaxed but I've had no twinges at all. It feels difficult going into labour naturally when it's a beautiful sunny day outside and I just want to be enjoying the outdoors. My last two were born in November & December so I'm very used to labouring through cold, dark, cozy nights. I'm in Scotland too and it's only dark atm between midnight and 3am, so I think I have to get used to the idea of giving birth in daylight somehow 😅

PeppedUp · 01/06/2024 19:26

@Sa11yCinnamon completely understandable after such a long wait - I hope you get your epidural soon!

Nelliepledge · 01/06/2024 20:28

@Sa11yCinnamon thinking of you ☹☹ you're so close to meeting your baby though!

Happy 41 weeks @Edgeofthesea! That sounds like a perfect day! No twinges here really, I kind of thought it would be today but less hopeful now, what about you? Do you have an induction booked? Lots of love to you all x x x

TheBirdintheCave · 02/06/2024 01:27

I hope you all meet your babies soon! The waiting is just the worst :(

Edgeofthesea · 02/06/2024 04:51

@TheBirdintheCave Thank you, waiting is tough, it's so hard to plan anything!

@Nelliepledge I also thought it would have happened by now, I was so sure that I'd at least be having contractions by this point, but hey ho!

I don't have an induction booked, I'm just going to try to be patient and wait for him to be ready :) How about.you?

I'm seeing my midwife later on today, so it'll be reassuring go check on baby and see how engaged he is. i didnt expect to make it to this appointment though! I've also got a scan booked for the end of next week. My home birth team will still support me at 42 weeks +, but they've advised monitoring to check fluid levels and the placenta etc, so that's what I'll be doing :)

@Sa11yCinnamon Hope you're doing well and have met your baby now x

Yourowgirl · 02/06/2024 05:58

No baby here yet either, and would really like them to come on their own before Tuesday so I can avoid intervention. I am 40+4 so still got some time. Trying to stay relaxed but we are so keen to meet baby now! All friends and family with a similar due date have had their babies as of Friday!

@Sa11yCinnamon I hope you're ok, sorry to hear it's been so difficult for you.

All the best for the final stretch @Edgeofthesea @venus93 @Nelliepledge and anyone else still waiting too

nh93 · 02/06/2024 13:40

@Sa11yCinnamon got everything crossed for you, hope you can get this baby out asap! You got this 💪🏽

and to everyone else waiting for their babies i hope your labour and delivery goes well just hang in there 💕

We had our baby girl on 30th May 11.49pm it was a long long 3 days of induction and labouring and lots of tears and scares later baby was born! Traumatic is an understatement! However She's doing so well weighing at 5lbs.15 (quite small but my babies usually are) we are home now trying to figure out our new routine as a family of 5 💕

How's everyone finding recovery? 3rd time round I'm finding it really hard the pains and recovery is much harder but they told me it usually is. Just need to rest and take it each day!

Same here, no news. Had some hope things would get going last night but only woke to some awful reflux :/. I have an induction booked wednesday so really hoping for spontaneous labour before then! Does anyone else waiting have theirs booked in?

Also just to vent.. messages asking "baby here yet?" are really getting on my nerves, in particular from those who havent bothered asking how i've/we've been doing in the pregnancy and just seem to want the headliner update!

Good luck to all!

Emmacb82 · 02/06/2024 14:29

@nh93 congratulations!! This baby was my third too and I’ve never experienced after pains before and thought they were made up 🤦🏼‍♀️ But honestly I found them worse than actual contractions! They made me cry and yet labouring was fine. I’ve found with every baby that my tummy muscles really ache and take weeks and weeks to recover. I can really feel it when walking for a while etc. just take it easy and enjoy those newborn snuggles x

Edgeofthesea · 02/06/2024 19:05

Congratulations @nh93 ! So lovely to hear of a safe arrival, though I'm sorry it was such a long and traumatic process. I hope you all enjoy settling in together and that you can work through your feelings around the birth when you're ready ❤️

PeppedUp · 02/06/2024 20:54

@nh93 congratulations!! Sorry you had a traumatic experience but hope time at home is going well x

I’m just on baby number two but recovery is slower than last time. I’ve got after pains this time and it’s taking longer for my pelvic girdle pain to go away.

Good luck to everyone still waiting and having to field messages from friends and family. I don’t know why people expect it might have slipped your mind to tell them you had a baby!

Sa11yCinnamon · 03/06/2024 00:39

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

Our wee boy was born at 3pm on Sunday by emergency c-section, due to a few issues with how things were progressing. Made my peace with it and I'm just so unbelievably happy he's here! Any and all recovery tips very welcome 😊

@nh93 massive congratulations to you and really sorry to hear you had such a tough time xx

Huge congratulations @nh93 and @Sa11yCinnamon although I'm sorry to hear you both had a difficult time. Sending you best wishes for your recoveries and lots of lovely time with your babies.
Meanwhile another weekend has passed and no baby over here🙃

Sa11yCinnamon · 03/06/2024 06:32

@Yourowgirl thank you and keeping everything crossed you meet your baby soon!

My daughter was my second and omg the cramps afterwards were just insane. I begged for morphine (after giving birth to her with just a bit of gas and air 😂) They took five days to go completely 😭

TheBirdintheCave · 03/06/2024 07:37

@Sa11yCinnamon @nh93 Congratulations! :D

SarahB88 · 03/06/2024 07:50

@nh93 @Sa11yCinnamon congratulations on your arrivals!

For section recovery my biggest tip is take your pain relief on time every day even if you don’t think you need it, you do. Take your lactulose when you don’t think you need it either. I got caught without taking lactulose yesterday and my god, I think it was worse than the initial birth recovery 😩 do try and get up and about for some walks too, it’ll help your swelling go down but take it easy. Do the blood thinning injections quickly and don’t rub the area after.

PeppedUp · 03/06/2024 09:59

Congratulations @Sa11yCinnamon !! Glad that your wait is over and you finally get to enjoy your baby ☺️

MrsB2005 · 03/06/2024 10:39

@Sa11yCinnamon Congratulations!! Enjoy every minute of your gorgeous boy x

nh93 · 04/06/2024 00:13

thank you everyone for your lovely messages 🥰

Emmacb82 · 04/06/2024 04:02

@Sa11yCinnamon congratulations, hope recovery is going ok and you are enjoying newborn snuggles with your little man x

Sa11yCinnamon · 04/06/2024 16:10

Thanks everyone, we've just got home which feels amazing! He seems to be getting the hang of feeding and I'm hoping we'll get more sleep than in hospital, so very tired but very very happy 🥰
