Pregnant after miscarriage

Hi guys in September I found out I had a missed miscarriage. I have just found out I’m pregnant again and am so nervous, I’m terrified the same thing will happen again. I have an early scan booked but it’s not until the start of March. How did you guys cope with the anxieties of pregnancy after miscarriage

@January0901 i have never experienced blood, I think you are probably best calling your EPU for advice. Hope everything is ok!

UpsideLeft · 06/03/2024 19:05

I had a miscarriage and got pregnant again within the same time period as you

All went well but I was also very nervous and scared

Once my bump got bigger I soon stopped worrying about it

Please don't call this baby when they're older your rainbow baby to their face though because it's really demeaning and will make them feel like second best after a dead baby

January0901 · 03/04/2024 09:35

How’s everyone getting on with their pregnancies I had my 12 week scan the other day and all was good so am completely relieved. How is everyone else doing?

@January0901 That's really great news! I'm so pleased for you. ☺️

The next few weeks will fly by, will you find out the gender?

I'll be 20 weeks on Friday with my next scan next Wednesday, the anxiety has definitely lessened as I've started to 'pop' and think I feel very very slight faint movements, but not 100% confident that's what I'm feeling with it being my first baby. (It's also only when I'm really concentrating/still)

My2boysaremyworld · 03/04/2024 18:47

I'm 19 weeks on Friday and feeling really anxious today. I'm concerned Iv not felt any kicks yet, this is my 3rd pregnancy for getting this far. I think Iv had like bubble popping feelings but now I'm second guessing myself 😢xx

Whiterose123 · 03/04/2024 20:34

@My2boysaremyworld I'm only feeling slight bubbles, I wouldn't say I've felt a definite kick. They started just before 19 weeks and I had two days of nothing this week but today they are back. (I presume they moved, but it does make you second guess yourself as they are not that strong right now)

Do you know where your placenta is? Mine is anterior so I presume that's why they are light and sometimes disappear xx

My2boysaremyworld · 03/04/2024 20:54

@Whiterose123 I haven't been told where my placenta is yet xx

January0901 · 03/04/2024 23:45

@Whiterose123 yes definately will be finding out the gender I’m too impatient what about you?
@My2boysaremyworld I’m sure it’s ok, is your placenta maybe at the front? I know that can affect feeling kicks?

OP posts:
My2boysaremyworld · 03/04/2024 23:47

@January0901 I have no idea 😩 got 20 weeks scan next Friday and I'm dreading it xx

Whiterose123 · 04/04/2024 16:52

@January0901 exciting! Yes, im also too impatient which is why I know we're having a boy, I found out at the 16 week scan.

@My2boysaremyworld theres not long until your 20 week scan now, they do say that it almost feels like you're questioning yourself at first. (I'm holding onto that)

Hi can any one offer any advice here as i feel like i’m going out of my mind!!! I’m 28 and started trying for a baby with my husband in Jan 2024 (after coming off pill) didn’t have a period for 8 weeks and was pregnancy testing every week which was BFN’s! However 27th feb BFP we were ecstatic and didn’t think it would happen so quickly, however at 5w3d i had miscarriage :-( (7th march) bleeding lasted until 15th March. Negative test 22/03 so we’ve been DTD since then, its been five weeks on Thursday since MC started and still no period. I’ve had mild cramping, sore breasts and headache and felt a little nauseous (the same symptoms as i had last time before BFP) I’ve done three tests and BFN :-( dont know if its my period coming (never had periods for years as was on depo injection and pill so cant remember what they really feel like) do you think it may be too early to test or is it game over for this month? Was going to wait until after first AF to try again but just feel so desperate after the loss, i want my baby :-(

Sorry didn’t see this message, hope you’re doing ok @Cb75 xx

How is everyone doing with their pregnancies, I thought my nerves would subside after the 12 week scan then I’ve been waiting for kicks but have an anterior placenta so still not sure if the odd few things I’ve felt are kicks or just my stomach lol!

Whiterose123 · 16/05/2024 12:51

Hi @January0901 how far along are you now? It could very well be movement as you're almost second guessing yourself earlier on. Have you had your 20 week scan yet or is that soon?

My best friend and I are are 4 days apart, both with boys and anterior placentas. My movements have been a lot stronger and felt earlier than hers but both our babies are healthy so try not to compare (even though I know it's hard as I definitely did).

I'm 26 weeks tomorrow, I can't quite believe I've gotten this far. Feeling forever greatful 🥹❤️

January0901 · 16/05/2024 14:42

@Whiterose123 Hiya I’m having a boy too! No I have my 20 week scan in just under 2 weeks I’m just over 18 weeks now! Had a private scan about a week ago just for some reassurance and found out it’s a boy. Just think it’ll be so much more reassuring when I can feel him regularly. Bet you’re getting excited now nearly in your third trimester!

Hi everyone! Lovely to see everyone progressing well into their pregnancies! It’s crazy how far we have come after everything that has happened to us.

i still find it surreal that there is a baby in there. I’m just over 25 weeks now and am feeling baby regularly, such a cute feeling. When do you guys go for your next check up? Have you started buying your baby bits? Lots of love xx

@Cb75 im so sorry for what you went through. Keep us updated on how things are, hope you are doing okay xx

January0901 · 17/05/2024 07:10

@Rainbowpeanut02 so glad your pregnancy is going well! When did you start feeling your baby move? I can’t wait to feel him just want the reassurance of feeling him so hopefully it will settle my nerves!

@January0901 aw a baby boy! Congratulations 🎉. Yes, one more week and then I'm in my third trimester. It's so surreal! 🥹 Feeling them more and more will hopefully give you that reassurance. They will only get stronger from here so hold on.

@Rainbowpeanut02 So happy to hear your pregnancy is also going well.

I put a deposit down on a pram this week to have delivered at a later date, but thats the only thing I've bought so far. I think as I enter the final trimester il probably start to buy more and more as i don't want to leave everything until the last minute. Have you bought anything yet? 🥹

My next app is next Friday at 28 weeks. When is yours?

I found it reassuring as long as I was feeling him. Less when I wasn't 🥴 I was told when I went up for reduced movements that a sleep cycle is 45 mins for an unborn baby so if (later in pregnancy, movements are erratic initially because they are too small for you to feel everything) to go up if it had been a few hours of nothing. Always something to worry about! X

Rainbowpeanut02 · 23/05/2024 19:02

Sorry everyone just looked at my messages now haha.

@January0901 i felt my baby around 14/15 weeks I felt the little butterflies but actual kicks I was around 22 weeks. My timeline could be completely different to others as it also depends on your placenta and baby etc. Have you started to feel any movements?

@Whiterose123 Awwww nice! I didn’t realise how many different options there are for babies from bottles to baths to clothes, there’s just a lot! But I think once I started to feel more comfortable in this pregnancy I definitely started nesting haha. Basically I bought absolutely everything! So now think we are kind of sorted but there’s never too much I guess and I’m based abroad there’s tickets to a baby expo this weekend and of course I’m going! So might have to try and reign it in a little bit haha. Xx

i went in for my 25 week appointment last week and all was good. My next appointment is at the beginning of next month on the 3rd I think to do the glucose test. I’m not looking forward to that then have the growth scan later on that month. How’s your baby measuring? Mine is bang on track but I dunno why but I have a feeling like I’m going to have a big baby but apparently not. Think I’ll know more at the growth scan. Xx

@Springadorable That’s very true about the movements. It’s so hard to not get into your own head about it. I’m part of some FB groups where some ladies went in to check and all was fine but it is worrying. I thought I had figured out my baby’s routine but now I have no idea. I feel as though my baby just does what he wants haha. Xx

January0901 · 01/06/2024 15:35

@Rainbowpeanut02 i think I’ve felt movements for the last week but more so in the last few days. I had my 20 week scan last Thursday, it took ages! Lots of wiggling and then being sent for 15 minute walks to try and get baby in right position 😂 luckily all was well, think I’ve accepted I’m just going to be nervous until he’s here!

Hi Ladies, hope you’re all well! I just wanted to ask if you did anything differently in this pregnancy for it to be successful? I had a MC at 5 weeks in November then a MMC in April this year and I really want to start trying again soon but wondered if any of you did anything differently as I really don’t want to go through this again! @January0901 @Springadorable

Nope, all the same. Wasn't any rhyme or reason to it for me. Best of luck, I know the desperation to control what happens.

Sunshine8011 · 05/06/2024 21:30

@Springadorable thanks for getting back to me! That fills me with hope, guess I just have to keep going til we’re lucky! Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy hope all goes well xx

January0901 · 05/06/2024 21:30

@Springadorable sorry probably not what you want to hear but i didnt do anything differently either. I did feel like i was completely obsessed with getting pregnant again it became a bit all consuming. I think unfortunately it’s just luck. Hoping you get the news you're hoping for soon!
