Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

@AnonymousXXIX I've got a 2.5 year old DS and I'm reeeeally worried about how we're going to cope as well! DS cosleeps still and breastfeeds through the night. I know we need to get him in his own room but I has can't imagine it happening when he's so reliant on me. DW will have to step in and cosleep with him in his own room soon but I'm stressing about it constantly!

No advice but I'm sorry your DH is being such a shit about it. So so unhelpful for you!

I was breastfeeding till 21 months and then forced to stop due to a horrendous infection. Had not intended to stop (it was still how I did all nights and naps) so it was a dramatic change. I think that my toddler sensed though that I was not well, and kind of stopped complaining after 3 days, and started accepting bedtime books and cuddles (although all naps now have to be in pram, there is absolutely no other way, will NOT go in cot or floor-bed when still awake). But yeah, right now, I am not seriously ill with an infection, and, also, terrible twos I guess, so changes are very much not welcome and nothing we are trying is working...

Hey Allll, happy Monday!

To any of my 17-18 week ladies

I'm 18w now and Google is giving me conflicting information.

So many websites are saying I'm now 5 months pregnant - others are saying 4 months. I just want to know in my mind if I'm 4 or 5 months pregnant.

Why can't the internet be consistent hah

In other news, my mood swings have subsided and I actually feel very levelled. Hope it stays this way as I was having a lot of down days.

Anyways, hope this week treats you all well.

ceruleansky · 05/02/2024 14:10

@User491
Hope you're doing better now, must have been quite a scare.

@Vittoriosa
Congratulations on your baby girl!! 💕

@ExpectantEs
I would say 5 months! 4th month is between 14-17. But yes I agree with you that there are so many different calculations and opinions of this.

I had a cheat meal! Momos for the first time in 4 months. 😬

User491 · 05/02/2024 14:33

@CB2805 it is craziness isn't it! I've struggled to get an appointment, now because I'm 16 weeks I kept getting bounced back and forward to women's outpatients and maternity... nightmare! I'm booked in for tomorrow mid morning so fingers crossed all is well 🤞🏻 I feel fine in myself apart from mega bloat, and I can feel such a bulge just below my belly button, so different to what it was like Saturday morning, so maybe everything shifting up has caused a bleed... we will see.
Yes dr google is the worst, however, I found more positive stories this far along than negatives.. but I won't be googling anymore 😅

@missmoosh aww lovely, something to look forward to each week 🙂

@ceruleansky thank you 🙂
I don't get the month situation either it's too confusing 😂
Hope you enjoyed your meal 😋

wannabe123 · 05/02/2024 17:23

@ExpectantEs I'm 18 weeks too and I think I'd say 4 or 4 and a half because working on 1 month = 4 weeks
2 months = 8 weeks
3 months = 12 weeks
4 months = 16 weeks
5 months = 20 weeks

Savvy21 · 05/02/2024 17:55

@ExpectantEs @wannabe123 I've been working backwards from my due date. So I'm 18+2 and my due date is 5 months from tomorrow so I think I'm 4 months about to start my 5th.

ExpectantEs · 05/02/2024 18:25

@ceruleansky @wannabe123 @Savvy21
All 3 of you have different methods of working it out lol

I think I'm going to just say 4/5 because I honestly don't get the science.

I do think the simplest way to calculate it is 1 month = 4 weeks but I know there are 5 week months. So complicates things.

Anyways, I'm sure I will live. Thanks guys!

ceruleansky · 06/02/2024 04:53

@ExpectantEs
Yes, if you count 4 weeks in a month you'd end up with 10 months. 1 month in the first trimester has 5 weeks and 2 in the second have 5 weeks, ending up with 9 months. 😅

I slept so bad, have a back ache. Today, I've felt a pressure on my pelvis and the pain is moving from my front to my back, along the line, if you know what I mean. It feels like something is pushing itself out of me. Like those alien movies. 😭 Plus lower back pain near my tailbone. I don't know if it's normal growing pains or not, I've got a long day with a lot of standing to do.

TooHappyToday · 06/02/2024 05:03

Once you get to 17 weeks and a couple of days you are in month 4. Found a chart online. Im counting by weeks, and someone at work asked me how many months I was and my brain just couldn’t compute!

Amberellaella · 06/02/2024 06:53

On a completely different topic, where does everyone stand on alcohol free beer? I keep flip flopping between thinking that 0.0 is Ok, and then thinking I should even avoid that!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 06/02/2024 08:33

@ceruleansky - hope you’re not in too much pain! I’ve been struggling with low back pain on and off and my glutes/hamstrings keep getting so tight with it that I struggle to walk (lots of waffling) I find gentle stretches if you get time to find a pregnancy and body area specific yoga YouTube video and actually being on my feet more is better as it loosens up. The second I sit I get stuck! Hope you’re pain free soon!

@Amberellaella - I don’t drink beer anyway but had some alcohol free wine on occasion in my last pregnancy and didn’t worry too much about it. As with anything I wouldn’t go overboard but a little bit shouldn’t be too bad I’d have thought?

justanotherlaura · 06/02/2024 09:33

@Amberellaella there's low levels of alcohol in a very ripe banana and fruit juices so I'd not worry about having the odd alcohol free beer. A couple when you're out for dinner or with friends wouldn't be a problem.

My midwife told me the odd glass of wine to celebrate a big occasion or something would be fine but I wouldn't chance it personally. I did have a couple of glasses of dealcoholised Prosecco over the Christmas holiday/new year

goodstuffdrinks.com/how-much-alcohol-in-alcohol-free-drinks/

missmoosh · 06/02/2024 09:45

@ceruleansky could it be the start or pelvic girdle pain?? Maybe try wearing one of those pregnancy support belts??

bringmearainbow · 06/02/2024 09:49

The months baffle me 😂 mind you I struggle to remember what week and day I'm in sometimes 🤦🏼‍♀️

I had zero alcohol wine at Christmas which was nice but I'm not a big drinker when not pregnant so I don't overly miss the taste. I know one of my friends had zero alcohol beer for her whole pregnancy with no issue

AnonymousXXIX · 06/02/2024 10:01

I had a 0.0 Heineken last night and didn't even think about it 😂

Morningcoffeeaddict · 06/02/2024 10:07

Just back from my 16week appointment, went on for ages and I’m now booked in for 2weekly appointments after my 20week scan as I’m showing signs of getting preeclampsia again already.

She did listen to baby’s heartbeat though which was lovely - she said they’ve been told they’re not supposed to for the reasons others have given above but the old school midwives are still doing it as it’s nice to and she backs herself (10 years of being a community midwife and only 3 times she hasn’t found it). Very glad she was happy to break the rules!

ExpectantEs · 06/02/2024 10:58

@Morningcoffeeaddict I'm glad that you got to listen to babies heartbeat! & I hope all of your future appointments go well.

What sort of symptoms were you having in regards to the pre eclampsia? Or were they just looking out for it as you've had it before??

@TooHappyToday thanks for posting the chart. It's quite clear so I'll use that :)

Morningcoffeeaddict · 06/02/2024 11:07

@ExpectantEs - they’re on high alert anyway as I’ve had it before (and I had no symptoms then, just went in for my 28 week appointment and had sky high BP and all the protein markers in my urine so was sent directly to hospital).
I mentioned to her I had a migraine last week and I get them with the aura (numb hand and face, flashing lights and then the headache) which are also preeclampsia symptoms then she checked and I’ve got traces of protein in my urine and my BP has risen a little although not technically enough to worry about so she’s going to keep a closer eye on me so we can hopefully manage it with medication earlier this time. Not hugely worried yet but glad they’re taking it seriously.

Typically symptoms to watch out for would be seeing flashing lights, headaches that won’t go away with paracetamol etc, swelling and pain under the ribs from the centre of your chest round the right hand side. She said any of that after 19 weeks and call triage to be on the safe side.

Amberellaella · 06/02/2024 11:22

Thanks @Morningcoffeeaddict that’s really helpful. I’ve been getting headaches but put them down to dehydration. I still think that’s what they are but I shall be on the watch for them getting worse now, just in case…

Morningcoffeeaddict · 06/02/2024 11:26

@Amberellaella - no problem. Dehydration seems likely to be fair, we’re all still a bit early for preeclampsia and I know sometimes I’ll get a little headache and then eat and drink something and it’ll go away again.

Definitely one to keep an eye on just in case, my situation is fairly rare but it’s good to know the symptoms.

Busyhedgehog · 06/02/2024 11:53

I've just come back from my 16 week appointment.
They weighed me, took my blood pressure and checked my urine sample. Also did a repeat blood test for toxoplasmosis. I then went in and my OB/GYN did a cancer check (so checked my breasts and did a smear test) and a quick ultrasound. Baby was all curled up with the butt towards us, so didn't get to see much...😁
We talked about me getting the flu shot but have postponed that for now since we seem to be moving out of the main period for it round here and she said I can still get it later should case numbers rise again.
I'm meeting my midwife for the first time tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.

User491 · 06/02/2024 14:52

So pleased to read everyone's appointments are all going well 🥰

@Morningcoffeeaddict that's brilliant that they are keeping a close eye on you, fingers crossed it's not the start of it for you though 🤞🏻

@Amberellaella well I've not even given this a thought, but I have a couple zero gins every weekend 🙈 I just like it for something different... I just assumed it was fine 😬

@CB2805 looks like we are twinning again, now with the placenta issue 🙈😂

Had a scan today, and then a consultant app.. Both babies are fine 🥰
One baby has a low lying placenta, so that could be the cause of the bleed I had. Hopefully by 20 weeks it will have moved up 🤞🏻
Otherwise all looking fine tho 🥰

Morningcoffeeaddict · 06/02/2024 14:54

@User491 - so pleased everything looked good at the scan!

@Busyhedgehog - hope the midwife meeting goes well for you tomorrow as well

ExpectantEs · 06/02/2024 17:43

@User491 It's good to hear both babies are fine ❤️

@Morningcoffeeaddict Thank you for the insight on pre eclampsia & what to look out for. Hope your symptoms get a little better & your follow ups go well!

I've got this too, doctor said it's round ligament pain. I'm not even able to cross my legs anymore without feeling shooting pains. I would get this checked out though just in case x
