@Nclktnntt been feeling sorry for myself today lol they cancelled my induction this morning and rescheduled for tomorrow, only one day but being week overdue it felt like eternity, hoping they don’t cancel on me tomorrow too x

Srs12 · 03/01/2024 21:55

@Avie29 good luck for your induction tomorrow, fingers crossed it goes ahead as planned 🤞

How is everyone finding sizing of clothes? My 2 week old is 91st centile for height and weight so on the bigger side but not quite a giant however we’re struggling slightly with sleepsuits. He’s in 0-3 at the moment and mostly fit okay but I’m finding some of them seem too short in the legs already yet the 3-6 size is way too big so we’re quickly running out of the right sized sleepsuits. Is there any brand anyone has found to be slightly longer than average?

He also has slight positional talipes so don’t want to risk restricting his feet at all but don’t want to bury him in clothes that are too big either! 😅

99SR · 03/01/2024 22:13

@Srs12 ive found asda babygrows are bigger made, also next! I got some footless baby grows from Tesco too which might help obv just put some socks on?

anyone else’s baby have colic? 😳😰 the nights are so long. Crying pretty much from 10-2/3 most nights. I changed milk from Aldi to aptimal comfort. Only been using it for a day so early to say but baby just seems so unsettled and uncomfy. Constantly has her knees up at her chest, I feel rotten for her!

also I’m 19 days post c section and my tummy is tender to touch. Not where the scar is, above that bit on my actual belly.. hopefully it gets better.

Something in the air today @Avie29 I think - I've had an emotional day. Not sure why though really. Maybe because the sweeps don't seem to be doing anything for me either 😥 I really hope they don't cancel you again. I hadn't even thought that would be a thing but it is I guess. Fingers crossed for tomorrow for you. I'll be having another sweep tomorrow. I've decided if I have to be induced I'm going to start crocheting a blanket - learn how to crochet first 😂 figured I'll probably have time to start and just never finish it lol.

@GingerJanee sorry to hear about your recovery, I hope they can get you antibiotics and healing soon!

GingerJanee · 03/01/2024 23:00

@SMG1992 im 14 days, GP gave me antibiotics and dressings so hopefully they help. Feel like I’m back to day 3 post section at the minute with pain and exhaustion but hopefully in 2/3 days with antibiotics these make a big difference.

VillageFete · 04/01/2024 05:45

@99SR Have you tried probiotics? Take a look at this link and then you can do a Google https://brainhealthfrombirth.com/probiotics/?amp

I’ve started the Biogaia ones this week (Important that you start slowly with a few days of 1 drop, a few days of 2 drops, building up to the 5 drops)

I’ve also ordered the Lovebug probiotics. Hard to source but managed to get them from somewhere called Vitamin Store Salford.

How’s everyone’s nights going? I’m knackered! She’s up every 3 hours bang on for feeds. Sometimes she settles well after feeds, other times it’s super hard work!

She’s piling weight on. She was 8lb 1oz two weeks ago and is now 9lb 6oz. Her face is like a bowling ball 😂

She was on the breast for every feed initially but was never satisfied so was topped up with formula. I’ve been pumping and barely getting anything. We are more or less just formula now. I feel quite crap about it that my supply was so poor but she did get a fair few decent enough feeds from me, plus all my colostrum. I don’t know if it’s worth continuing to pump or not.

Infant Probiotics

There are a few very good reasons to consider giving your baby a probiotic. The best strain(s) to use depends on your specific goal: Counteracting factors that can make it difficult for a baby to b…

Kendamil do probiotic drops too and I've just checked - it has both those strains mentioned in the article in there rather than just the one strain. I've been looking into getting these too as well be formula feeding only.

Well let me tell you that all changed for the unexpected, shortly after writing on here the pains crampt up full pump action and was on the gas and air . The midwife was saying your only 2cm and long wouldnt listen to me … i was in agony till around 6.30 am still on the induction ward with ladies at different stages (none being screaming loud) waters went bang and i was pushing, they threw me in a chair got on the bed in delivery and out she popped out! 3/1/24 6.47am 9lb 5 my little Winter Louise ( suprise as we didn’t no the sex) crazy labour! Didn't get my water birth sadly but it all happened very fast xx sending love to you all ladies., amazing what our bodys can do xxx

SMG1992 · 04/01/2024 09:04

@GingerJanee I hope the antibiotics do the trick quickly. The last thing you need is to fight infection whistl you’re tired with a newborn!

Nclktnntt · 04/01/2024 09:58

Congratu @Crabbit1212 ! My husband had a few dates that he liked due to how they work and 3124 was his favourite 🥰

Aww mine was the 23.12.23 but wasnt meant to be 😂 xx

FirstMondayInMay · 04/01/2024 12:11

@Srs12 ive found Asda sleepsuits the best for my baby! He’s got really long legs and big feet and is still fitting quite well in newborn. I’ve found that the footless ones just ride up his legs and end up knee length if he’s having a good wriggle🤣

Avie29 · 04/01/2024 12:39

@Nclktnntt hope your sweep works today, they have cancelled on me again 🙄 good luck with the crocheting, its one of my hobbies, loads of useful videos on YouTube, ive made baby 2 blankets and a bunny teddy 😊 its great to pass the time lol

How many day over are you? Ours do term +10 which is why I'll be in on Saturday for my induction. I believe your due date was the 26th? Or 28th I think you were a day before or after me.

Srs12 · 04/01/2024 16:28

@99SR @FirstMondayInMay thanks both I’ll definitely have to have a look in Asda then!

i have had the same issue with footless ones @FirstMondayInMay and I haven’t been putting him in many ‘outfits’ since they’re such a faff but today he’s got some next joggers/leggings and socks on and I don’t know if it’s the shape but they are super easy for nappy changes and I haven’t found myself wrestling with him to get them back on as much as usual so may have to order some more for the days.

Avie29 · 04/01/2024 17:43

@Nclktnntt im +8 today but was told by consultant at the beginning of my pregnancy they wouldn’t let me go a week over due to risk of my c-sec scar splitting, i been told to go home and they will ring me when they have space 🤷🏻‍♀️ i have no new induction booked, no midwife appointments so basically just stuck, how did the sweep go? x

SMG1992 · 04/01/2024 17:48

@Srs12 im a big fan of leggings on mine. I find them easier than sleep suits and definitely easier than other faffy outfits. Romper buttons are especially awkward for nappy changes!

Nclktnntt · 04/01/2024 18:24

@Avie29 I thought maybe consultant lead as I remember you saying due to+1 week. Has your consultant been involved in the delay, I mean more - are they aware of it? Because surely that's gonna create more anxiety for you given the reasons they said they wouldn't let you go more than a week.

Not long back from the sweep and the midwife was really helpful and informative regarding the process and what to expect with an induction and our options, my midwife just kinda dismissed me and gave me a leaflet to read and the one I saw Friday wouldn't answer induction questions she was so adamant we wouldn't reach Saturday, so the lady today was really helpful and actually put my mind at ease quite a lot regarding them. I still don't want one, I've been low risk the whole pregnancy and she was saying at what points I wouldn't be able to go back down to the MLU center and it's not an automatic switch, so I think I know my plan now if we do get to Saturday.

Random but my baby girl has longer/more eyelashes on 1 eye than the other. Does anyone know if the other side will catch up?!

When her eyes are closed and she’s sleeping you can clearly see her lashes right eye, whereas they aren’t as noticeable on the left! She’s 4 week’s old, so hoping they’re just still growing in!

@Nclktnntt Can’t believe you’re still waiting!! You must be feeling a tad impatient now.

VillageFete · 04/01/2024 22:30

Image included!

Also, she’s piling weight on. Her face is super, super chubby. She’s constantly hungry! She’s gone from 8lb 1oz to 9lb 6oz in two weeks. She guzzles 4oz of formula every 3 hours and then still roots for more. I’ve had to start doing 5oz and she’s only just turned 4 weeks.

Due Dec 2023 - part 6
Srs12 · 04/01/2024 22:58

@VillageFete Sorry I can’t help on the eyelashes but can definitely relate with them being constantly hungry! My baby boy was 9Ib 4oz when he was last weighed at 12 days and he’s having 4oz every 2/3 hours at the moment (2 weeks old today).

We were giving him 3oz but had to up it to 4 when he was still hungry hoping it would keep him fuller for longer but no such luck 😅

SMG1992 · 05/01/2024 05:06

I’ve got a hungry baby too!
he’s just over 3 weeks and I’m considering putting some feeds up to 5oz. He’s generally satisfied with 4 (every 2 hours atleast) but sometimes wants more.
I’ll see how the next week goes as I don’t want to over feed him but also don’t want him hungry! Feeding is so hard!

VillageFete · 05/01/2024 05:58

Glad i’m not the only one with a milk monster! But honestly her face is filling out at an epic rate and she only has a very small, round face and the chub is enveloping her pretty features!

Regarding the eyelashes, I hope the other side catches up! I can’t help notice it when she has her eyes closed. I always assumed both sides were consistently the same size. Then again, they’ve only really started growing in the last 10 days. She didn’t really have any before then.

Avie29 · 05/01/2024 06:41

@Nclktnntt so my waters went at 5 o’clock yesterday while serving kids dinner lol, went to hospital to confirm it definitely was my waters and was sent home again to wait for a call with a space, apparently both hospitals closest to me are still too full for induction, still not having any contractions, little madam is hanging in there, any changes since your sweep? x
