I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

I am 5+2 today with #2 according to LMP. Been getting strong symptoms for about a week now, boobs feel super heavy and sore, also getting the odd period type cramps and also super bloated. No sickness as of yet, but a couple of moments of dry heaving. With my DD I had zero symptoms until about week 7/8, so I am convinced its either a boy or twins this time around 😆although I know every pregnancy is different.

I have self-referred but waiting to hear back on a date for booking. I am planning on booking an early private scan for when I am around 7 and a half weeks though.

Due date is 27th May at the moment but obviously may change come the 12 week scan. Does anyone else have the same date?

MrsB2005 · 27/09/2023 15:30

@winterbabyrose I am due the day after you, and I keep thinking about what if its twins - especially as I tested early and the BFP line was very dark very quickly.

Only serious tiredness issues here - no other symptoms which is making me more anxious.

Got to ring the midwife back next week or booking appointment but have booked an early scan for 7+4 as Im so anxious this time around and its a long time since l was last pregnant and so much has changed.

LBNM19 · 27/09/2023 17:07

Hi, update from Monday when I went to the scan and saw nothing.

I had a scan today as was having some one sided pain and today there was a gestational sac and yolk sac. The sonographer said I’m probably a little earlier that I thought because ovulation was late.

Monday my hCG was 1143

Today my hCG is 2242

So it almost doubled so feel a bit more reassured now.

I’m back for a scan in 2 weeks time if I can wait until then! I’m thinking about booking a private scan.

Due May 2024?
UnderstatedElegance · 27/09/2023 17:14

Ahh, that's great @LBNM19 it sounds like everything is heading in the right direction.
I can't wait for my scan on Sunday. I'm so worried something isn't right though. I'm not usually an anxious person.

I've been so so cold this afternoon - has anyone else had this? I was hot yesterday. Currently on the sofa with a pile of blankets whilst my husband cooks dinner.

Cinai · 27/09/2023 17:42

Trigger warning…potential loss, don’t read on if this might affect you ❤️ *

Hi all, I just had a scan but it only showed an empty sac 😔 I’m 6 +3 (very sure about my dates). I’ve been told to come back in two weeks but realistically it’s over, right? I think I’d rather be told the truth now than hold onto false hope.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/09/2023 17:47

@Cinai I'm so sorry :( I had that with my second pregnancy and they diagnosed a blighted ovum two weeks later. It was the most stressful time as, same as you, I was very sure of my dates and no one would listen to me. They just kept pretending there might be hope which was really hard to deal with.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/09/2023 17:48

@Cinai Oh one question though, was it a transvaginal scan?

LBNM19 · 27/09/2023 17:49

@Cinai I’m very sure on my dates and they’ve said that I’m probably a few days behind. That can make such a difference in early pregnancy.

Was there a yolk sac? Have they offered to do any bloods?

Why did you have the scan have you had pain etc?

Sending lots of love, so difficult waiting.

Cinai · 27/09/2023 18:18

Thank you @TheBirdintheCave and @LBNM19 x

Yes, transvaginal scan at a private gynaecologist (who I’ve used before and trust).
I didn’t have any pain, just wanted some reassurance because it’s my first pregnancy and I’m 40 so a bit higher risk.

Congratulations! I am 5+4 so 2 days different! My first was a boy and I felt so sick and feel sick again already so I’d agree, they cause trouble 😂. I hope everything goes smoothly!

Meggan123 · 27/09/2023 19:10

@Cinai so sorry it wasn’t the reassurance scan you were hoping for! I can’t imagine how hard it must be to be in limbo! I’m hoping its just too early, I have been reading and some websites say you might not see anything before 7 weeks. I hope you get answers soon ❤️

Rusticanella · 27/09/2023 20:24

Oh @Cinai I'm really sorry. I truly hope that all is not lost, but I really don't know enough about it.

If you remember, I got my BFP a day or so after you on the geriatric group, was so lovely to read two positives in quick succession. Like I said, fingers crossed things change- when are you going back?

Meggan123 · 27/09/2023 20:27

Hey everyone, i’m 6+4 today and is anybody else experiencing random aches and pains, I have achy shoulders/upper back, random pains in my arms and legs? Not enough to really bother me or take pain killers but just noticable! I think i’m probably just hyper aware of my body atm. May not even be pregnancy related but just odd.

LBNM19 · 27/09/2023 20:41

@Meggan123 yes I’ve definitely been more aware of my body and had pains in my shoulders, arms, stomach etc everything is making me paranoid.

Meggan123 · 27/09/2023 21:01

@LBNM19 glad it’s not just me, I had a freak out about ectopic but it seems more of a muscular pain, doctor google tells me that its the hormones loosening all your joints and ligaments. Hopefully its just that. Or could be my body is tense from anxiety! Who knows.

Cinai · 27/09/2023 21:04

Thank you @Meggan123
Hi @Rusticanella how are you doing? I think I remember you were a bit concerned as well, is everything alright? X

I feel much less anxious. I think I am starting to really acknowledge and accept they it is out of our hands. Hard for a control freak like me.

I ended up having a blood test last week that confirmed good levels of HcG, and the weeks test progressed. I don't have masses of symptoms but I have some, so honestly, who knows.

I have a scan booked for Saturday so will be 6+4 then. I'm hoping all is good, but really who knows, you see so many stories on her of people experiencing bleeding and cramping and then go on to have normal pregnancies, and then the opposite where everything has seemed fine.

How are you feeling in yourself? I know that's a silly question....

Cinai · 27/09/2023 21:23

@Rusticanella that sounds really promising! Fingers crossed for your scan!
I was kind of the opposite, I’m usually an anxious person but I was quite relaxed all of last week and felt that things are going alright. Two days ago the sickness kicked in and I was just happy that I’d see the pregnancy for the first time today on the scan. I wasn’t prepared for bad news and it hit me hard….I don’t know if I should keep hoping. I’m really sure about my dates and the gynaecologist said that they’d expect to see a fetal pole at 6+3 so I want to start preparing myself that this pregnancy won’t go ahead. I have my NHS booking appointment next week and will ask if I can have another scan then.

I bet it hit you hard. Poor you. Interesting about sickened hitting? Maybe there is something there and growing.

Could you afford to see a private obstetrician? Get an opinion sooner. Surely you should be able to get a referral to EPU now rather than waiting for booking etc?

Cinai · 27/09/2023 22:04

The gynaecologist told me today to wait at least 1 week before doing another scan, but better 2 weeks to get a definite answer. I think I just need to sit it out and whatever will be, will be.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/09/2023 22:40

I'm assuming the stretching jolts to the right of where I think my womb is that I've been getting on and over since yesterday afternoon are due to things growing but I'm slowly getting more and more worried.

Anyone else had these? I don't know how else to describe it. Sometimes it happens on the left too but usually in the same place on the right.

ttcthoughts · 28/09/2023 06:47

@Cinai I'm sorry you are going through such a rubbish time currently,

I also went for a scan at 6 weeks 2 weeks ago and they could only see the gestational sack and yolk sack and measured at just under 5.5 weeks. went back Tuesday and baby had caught up growing and is back to where it should be. I spent 2 weeks panicking waiting for things to go wrong. I was also sure of dates too, and this last scan they confirmed what I thought originally, They did say some babies take longer to develop than others, so Dont give up hope just yet,

I had this constantly in my first pregnancy. Scared the life out of me for a few weeks thinking something had happened but I think it’s completely normal and all a good sign!

Nina7 · 28/09/2023 07:49

@Cinai I'm really sorry to hear your news... It seems that it's not sure that it's over, but there is a significant probability that it is, which is soul-wrecking...
It's so difficult to just have to wait for it for two weeks... I wish you a lot of courage

TheBirdintheCave · 28/09/2023 07:56

@Mum032019 Thanks for the reassurance :) I'll find out in about two hours 🤢
