@OrionNebula very much feeling the same, can’t believe there’s still so many weeks to go when everything feels like impending labour.

katherine123x · 18/09/2023 12:56

Booked in for next Wednesday for induction or c section!! 37 weeks exactly!! Scary to think it's all happening!!

oh wow already??? September baby then :)

It really is all becoming very real, isn't it?

doeandfawn · 18/09/2023 13:04

@katherine123x so exciting!!!!!

katherine123x · 18/09/2023 13:27

@peonygirl I know!! Can't believe it
Safest option for him and me!!

WhatTodoALL · 18/09/2023 13:43

I had a nap and woke up with very wet underwear. Like I had a pee while sleeping. Is it waters? I am 38 weeks and it's my third child. Now it's been 1 hour and nothing is coming out 🙃. Not sure what to think

Saturnsmoon · 18/09/2023 14:20

@WhatTodoALL uuuhm might sound a bit strange but can you give your underwear a sniff? Apparently waters smell very different from urine and it’s one of the ways midwives try and detect whether your waters have gone.

If you are still unsure perhaps contact your midwife if possible? They might want to examine you.

I feel like this sometime with discharge... tmi I know but could it be that?
No one could have prepared me for the discharge in pregnancy!

WhatTodoALL · 18/09/2023 14:33

@Saturnsmoon @ttcttc I called the midwife and she said if it repeats I have to go triage but it can be discharge, it can be pee, it can be waters but waters wouldn't stop 😐

thecatsthecats · 18/09/2023 14:48

Hmm, the midwife who did our antenatal was clear that there were a few very different types of waters breaking, and for some the waters might be effectively plugged by the baby.

Having said that, I've had everything from a minor bit of wee to watery discharge overnight, so wouldn't swear to it!

I'm a bit freaked out because I succumbed to a much needed midday nap and kept waking up a) because of my own snoring and b) I was blowing bubbles every time I woke up.

OrionNebula · 18/09/2023 16:51

@katherine123x you might be our first!

PeopleAreToads · 18/09/2023 17:40

For anyone who wants to get it, we're eligible for our covid jabs from today 😊 been and had mine at the walk in as have a scan tomorrow for them to decide if they're bringing baby next week

peonygirl · 18/09/2023 18:11

@PeopleAreToads Oh thank you for this information, I wasn't aware they are doing boosters. I just had a flu vaccination on Friday and am now down with a cold (typical) so I'll give it a week or two, then I'll try to find a walk-in service.

Summer022 · 18/09/2023 20:23

@katherine123x how exciting!! All feels so real now. 35 weeks this Thursday so still feeling like ages to go here 😆

OrionNebula · 18/09/2023 20:42

I had Covid vaccine a couple of weeks ago, no side effects. Flu vaccines not available yet here in Ireland though 😞

katherine123x · 18/09/2023 21:08

@OrionNebula maybe!! Cheating the group really as technically September bubba!!
Just booked the Covid jab, thank you so much!!

Onethingiwantfor23 · 18/09/2023 22:27

@katherine123x Can I ask why you're having it at 37 weeks?
I've been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes in the last 2 weeks and have been on Metformin for a week - I'm 35 weeks today. I have another growth scan next week and am desperate for them to let me have it at 37 weeks (C-section) considering it was estimated at nearly 7lbs at my 32 week scan.
(Can they book you in within a week?)

katherine123x · 19/09/2023 06:16

@OrionNebula of course. We have diabetes, the baby is weighing 8lbs6 yesterday 35+5 and we have polyhydramnios and have even more fluid than last week. Bit of a cocktail of risk for me and the baby. Consultant said she would like to book in for 37 weeks exactly to stop any further risk and to eliminate the chance of going into Labour at home (a good 45 min drive for me to the hospital) xx

cruciverbalista · 19/09/2023 06:30

Anybody else's baby's movements painful now with how strong they are? Feels like I've got a dolphin in there.

Sagittarius25 · 19/09/2023 07:21

@cruciverbalista yes me a bit, not painful but almost like oh my god when you move even a little a I feel EVERYTHING everywhere and it's like 🥴🥴🥴 so hard to describe 😂

Obviously grateful for good movements but looking forward to not having to share my body space anymore 😂

Smiffette · 19/09/2023 11:55

Movements are definitely firmer and some times make me jump, luckily wouldn't say painful... but with 4 weeks to go this little boy will only get stronger I am sure! 😳

Had a growth scan last week on Thursday, 35+2 and estimated weight was 5lbs 10oz. My first was 7.14 so I'm expecting a few ounces bigger.... just not too much I hope!!

Im strangely feeling more stretched in my tummy with this baby yet bump is smaller 🤷🏼‍♀️

ForeverAndEvers · 19/09/2023 15:15

@cruciverbalista not all the time, but I've had plenty of kicks that hurt. I've still got quite a few weeks to go so dread to think how much stronger they're going to get 😬

thecatsthecats · 19/09/2023 15:46

The kicks have lessened here, so long as he's in his normal spot, jammed RIGHT up under my ribs.

I'll find out at the midwife tomorrow how engaged his head is, bu

Sagittarius25 · 19/09/2023 16:23

Just had 34 week midwife appointment and bump is also now measuring big. Got second growth scan tomorrow to see if he's continuing measuring big. Midwife was basically in not so many words saying have bags packed and don't expect to get to 40 weeks, whether that's through a natural labour or induction/planned c section 😂😬

Don't even know what I feel I prefer out or induction or c section at this stage, can see pros can cons to both!

OrionNebula · 19/09/2023 16:31

So had my ECV today and it didn't work. She is extremely comfortable with her bum down! So I am scheduled for a c section on 2nd October.

For those of you who are waiting on ECV, it is quite painful but the actual procedure itself is over very quickly. They told me if it is going to work, it works straight away. There was a lot of waiting around though as you need a scan first and then after they monitor baby's heart rate for a while. Also as a warning, the medication they give you makes your heart race & the effects last a while. I'm home now but still feeling it.
