Empty 10mm sac at (what I thought) was 6 week. Help.

Hi all I’m so new to this.
im 43 and fell pregnant after trying for 3 months, this will be my 3rd. (2 teenagers)
I tested faint positive on 3rd just, the tests got very dark this week.
took myself off for a early internal scan yesterday as I have had brown discharge and some period like cramping and scared to hell of ectopic.
I was told there is a sac in the right place but no yolk or fetus. My sac measured 10mm which they said was 5 week.
im still having sore boobies, the worst back pain and sickness/headaches has just started yesterday.
really just after some reassurance as this 10 day wait is going to be so painful.

@Wen19 i know that head fuzz feeling. I will be the same tmro. I had it 2 week ago when I went for my early scan. 🤮 so you’ll be 6 1/2 week then there abouts.
mess you cramping ? Any lower back pain? I’ve had quite a lot of brown stuff. And one of the times started with pink first (was after a bowel movement) then turned dark brown then faded after a few days.
is it a private scan or at EPU? X

@Wen19 i also don’t know how far on I am! Could be anything between 6 and 8 weeks. I thought I was 6 at the time of my first scan. But god knows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is what I had, bowel movement and pink, then brown since. Not a lot if am honest, but there. No obvious pain that's stopped me in my tracks but bits of niggles. I would say on my dates from LMP that I'm 6+5

honestly in early pregnancy brown discharge is normal - I certainly had a fair bit, along with all kinds of weird cramps. Boobs hurting was very off and on. I can’t say for sure it will be good news but your tests show you are still pregnant so reason to be hopeful.

Brown discharge isn't always normal. I had it for nearly 2 weeks. Had strong lines on a pregnancy test. It ended in an MMC.

@Marchbug i read and was told by EPU when I last went that it was normal after bowel movement especially if you are constipated.
I really don’t think you need to worry.
the pain I had last weekend accompanied with dark brown creamy stuff (and lots of it) was terrifying. I literally was in agony. Then it all stopped and it’s as though nothing happened. My lower back has hurt since the day I found out I was pregnant then stopped last Tuesday. It’s still there a little bit depending on how I sit but nothing like.
pulls and tugs are normal 😘 try not to worry I don’t think your symptoms sound worrying at all 😘 let me know how you get on though. I’m thinking of you and holding your hand 🩷

@Emmamoo89 yeah that’s what worry’s me, I’ve read about that. My tests are really strong still dye stealers. How did you find out you had mmc if you don’t mind me asking xx

I had this situation. The wait was awful. In the end, for me, it worked out well and my little one is now 6yrs. I still dont really understand how the dates work but hey ho.. I wish you the best of luck.

I was getting dye stealers with my MMC as well. I'd had some brown/ pink bleeding and mild cramps. Had an early scan that showed smaller than expected sac/fetal pole etc but there was a heartbeat. I thought I was 6.5 weeks and measured 5.5. Had a rescan 10 days later and no heartbeat and hadn't grown. Was still getting 3+ on digital and dye stealers on FRERs. Plus had all pregnancy symptoms. In fact i was still getting dye stealers and pregnancy symptoms for a week after the surgical management. It took over a month to test negative.

So pretty much the same as lots of people, thought 6+5, measured 5+6, gestational sac and yolk seen but no baby. To go back in 10 days. Not hopeful tbf as can't work out how that would date and then with the bleed too. I dunno. I think probably not good news

@Marchbug aw you may have ovulated late? At least they saw a yolk honey. 🩷 what did they say about the bleed?
god I hate the 10 days! But now my 10 days is coming to a end I’d rather wait another 10 days I’m so scared.
stay positive and what’s helped me is remembering that if my body has stopped a pregnancy it does it with good reason. So also feel a little grateful for that. X

@Marchbug also a 5.6 age sac wouldn’t have a baby anyway so it sounds okay to me. 🩵 x

Yeah, I guess can only wait. I tested positive so early so surprised that would be behind but it's all very mysterious isn't it. I just wish I knew either way. I really don't cope well with limbo any time at all never mind in such emotional situations

@Marchbug i tested very early too. On 3rd July I had the faintest line was due on period on 7th 🤷🏻‍♀️ hoping we both ovulated late honey 🩵🩷 x

Good luck OP. Scan stress is the worse and I remember this all to well in my
last pregnancy having to wait for that second one after bad news.

I hope it goes ok today OP. Early pregnancy can be so hard - it makes you second guess everything. I had very similar situations to you. One resulted in no progression and the other is currently playing Roblox! I really hope that you get the second today
