Hi guys
EDD is 11th and i am getting v. bored and uncomfortable and thought I'd come here for some sympathy!

So far we've been for a curry (danshak so included pineapple!!), had a bowl of fresh pineapple etc - we've not tried the sex (i just can't imagine it somehow) or the champagne, which i've just read somewhere so maybe tonight?!?
getting lots of pains/twinges but nothing definate just feeling very large and uncomfortable - its no 1 so not sure what to expect really. Any advice gratefully received.

hope you are all well

ali

had curry and sex at weekend, both lovely but both made me feel a bit queasy afterwards. Have just walked home from the garage round the corner where i dropped the car off for a service, and was la-la-la-ing away to myself and walked straight past my house and carried on half a mile down the road before I realised. Then slapped a very swollen hand to my forehead, told myself off loudly, and turned round. Sad.

Dahlia · 09/06/2003 11:09

Happyspider, anything happening yet?

WideWebWitch · 09/06/2003 11:22

Dahlia, bet your dp was impressed that sex made you queasy! Walking straight past your house is very easily done you know Good luck to all of you due soon, looking forward to hearing your news.

happyspider · 09/06/2003 12:28

Hi Dahlia and all
no proper labour yet for me, and since the amniotic fluid around the baby is quite low, they have decided to induce me tomorrow, I am getting ready trying not to worry, I am going to be positive and only think that next time I post I will have the baby on my lap.

I may not be posting for a couple of days, will let you know how it goes.

love and good luck to the others!

Happyspider

mears · 09/06/2003 12:49

Good luck happyspider - looking forward to reading your birth story. Keep positive with thoughts of how exciting it is that you will see your baby soon. I was actually induced at 35weeks (no.3) and 37 (no.4)weeks and didn't find the experience any different from my first 2 labours. Enjoy

mears · 09/06/2003 12:50

Can you fit in a quick bonk before going to the hospital?

kaz33 · 09/06/2003 12:54

Good luck Happyspider, look forward to hearing your good news.

AliP · 09/06/2003 13:38

Good luck happy spider - just a thought - how are they monitoring the amniotic fluid & why?

motherinferior · 09/06/2003 14:06

Oooh, best of luck happyspider!!!

Wow, Dahlia, sex. Seem to remember it was fun, way back when.

Ali - just keep waiting, and if the twinges get too much check them out - I spent a ridiculous day last time trying to work out if I was in 'proper' labour or not!

KMS · 09/06/2003 22:12

Good luck Happyspider! Hope all goes well.

hi everyone!!
how r u all doing??
we have been told today that we must be in germany on july 21st(hubby is in the army and we have been posted there) and my EDD is july 11th!! the removals company are coming to take EVERYTHING on july 14th!! so imagine... nightmare! but i spoke to my mw and she said when im 38 w (in 2 w)she will do an internal examination and stretch my membranes (anyone knows wot that means?) and also, if lucas didnt come by then, ill be induced the week of my EDD, so thats cool!!We are going to germany by ferry but lucas can travel straightaway, the mw said, provided everything is ok of course!
good luck to everyone due around now
lovexxxx

Lisita · 10/06/2003 11:34

sorry, its me again (pg brain u know!!)
is anyone having a really really bad backache, like a trapped nerve or something? its gone to my bum now.. and i cant really walk!! its horrible!!
yesterday i thought thats it, i was having really strong period-type pains and contractions.not even a long bath helped!! but 2 paracetamols did, in the end!! just hope this little one comes ASAP im not having a good time i must say!!
lots of love
xxxx

kaz33 · 10/06/2003 16:14

Lisita - is that a sign that the baby is in OP position - back to spine ? I think bad back ache is a sign.

Cameron was and I could literally feel him in labour moving round my hip and down my bottom during labour. Even with the epidural it was painful.

Dahlia · 10/06/2003 16:20

Lisita, I have got chronic back pain in one shoulder blade, thought I had pulled a muscle gardening but I think now it must be a trapped nerve or something similar - bloody hurts anyway! How are you feeling now? Is anything happening? I feel for you with your moving dilemma - hope you're not stressing about it. Hopefully your baby will arrive nice and early!
Happyspider - thinking about you, hope that even as I type this you are getting stuck in to the gas and air!

KMS · 10/06/2003 23:11

Lista- the internal described by your midwife is a sweep. I had this with DS2 at 40 wks. It is uncomfortable but contractions started 12hrs later! They don't usually do it until 40wks but I suppose your stress levels won't last till then! I hope you don't have to pack up the house. They will do that for you won't they?? Hope back ache gets better.

Happyspider- Thinking of you!

Lisita · 11/06/2003 16:41

hi everyone!!
how are you all lovely ladies?
ive just been to the midwife. she confirmed wot the other mw said, that im measuring a week and a half ahead, that Lucas is BIG, and that he will probably be early.. also the head is fully engaged now!! (no wonder i walk feeling i have an orange down there!) she said "no wonder u r getting so many pains!" (im getting really bad period-type pains, last nite i was in tears!!
my pain on my back is the sciatica, she said its really bad but there is nothing u can do, its a trapped nerve and i shouldnt walk cos that will make it worse (i cant walk anyway, i limp!)
ive got an appointment with my consultant at the hospital for my heart murmur (ive had it all my life, nothing serious) next week and ill tell her about the induction (not that ill need it probably!) cos its up to her, hopefully she will say yes my mw said they are used to that with army wives having to move etc!!
we are going to a physical preparation for birth class with dh tomorrow, its given by a physiotherapist so that should be good!!
Yes, the removals pack for us, but we have to empty the cupboards etc.. imagine the CHAOS my house will be in with relatives, tiny baby and all my crockery on the table!! lovely!!
My parents are coming from Argentina (im argie by the way!) on sunday i cant wait!!
Lots of love
xxxxxxxxxx

I keep checking for happyspider!

Have now expanded to quite ridiculous proportions - baby shifted down, I think, and have managed to put on several pounds in the past week (nothing to do with birthday cake of course). DP picking up birth pool tonight. Still can't quite get head round idea of baby, though.
