Sorry for a bit of a gross query - has anyone had thick, yellow discharge? I've had some start today - I had previously had spotting so thought it was that to start but its not...when I look online it says to call the docs as could be a sign of an infection but I'm unsure what to do as docs don't reopen now until Tuesday.
I went to our EPU the other day for an early scan due to the spotting...they've given me a number up until 14 weeks but not sure if this sort of thing applies?

LilmissCa · 08/04/2023 15:08

@TAW2502 not had this but I'd give the number a call.. no harm in calling & asking. I'm sure they'll be happy to advise.
Was your scan transvaginal ? That may have affected it

BabyBabyBaby123 · 08/04/2023 15:15

@TAW2502 are you taking Pregnacare? I’m sure I remember reading somewhere that causing funny coloured discharge. I know it turns my pee bright yellow!

Mrsrobinsonx · 08/04/2023 16:15

@TAW2502 mine has been a bit like this, definitely thicker discharge and more of it since being pregnant.
I think it depends how yellow it is? If it’s just creamy/white with a tinge of yellow it’s probably just leukorreah which is normal, but if it’s really yellow then I’d probably ask about it!

TAW2502 · 08/04/2023 16:45

Thank you @LilmissCa @BabyBabyBaby123 @Mrsrobinsonx for replying!!
My scan earlier in the week was transvaginal so could be partly due to that and I am also taking pregnacare!! @BabyBabyBaby123 - I've looked online since you said that and it would explain my very yellow pee!!
The discharge is quite on and off so I'll see how things go for the rest of the day - the EPU has a 24hr helpline so I'll call them if I become more concerned about it, as it has at times been quite yellow 👀

AnnieCa34 · 08/04/2023 17:17

@TAW2502 i had green discharge on my
last pregnancy and the doctor thought I had an infection it was over the phone on 111 he said infection or thrush. I ended up taking midwives advice and treating it in case it was thrush and if that didn’t work would have taken the antibiotics. It was bright green which I have never had with thrush before but mine was after the transvaginal scan and I think irritated it. However with thrush treatment when pregnant can’t take the tablet I had to be prescribed the pessary and cream and was told not to use the applicator with the pessary

bakugo · 08/04/2023 17:29

@TAW2502 I had some thick yellow discharge after my internal scan and have had this before after them. I assume it's just the gel they use.

Good to know I’m not the only one symptom free; I can’t remember when I had a lull in previous pregnancies- nor
do I remember time standing still so much before my scan - 3 weeks to go

Honestly there are so many people here if you scroll who are symptom free and weren't before!! Including me! I was symptomatic for 2 weeks and that's it! It's soooo strange. All I have is tiredness and sometimes slightly sore boobs but barely! What is going on! Why are so many of us not having any symptoms so weird!!!

MeganC104 · 08/04/2023 18:59

I'm 10 +5 and almost threw up in Tesco's today 🤣 had to keep running back to the stationary aisle away from the food

Mrsrobinsonx · 08/04/2023 20:31

When I had my scan last week they said I had a subchorionic bleed and it’s the probably the reason for my spotting etc & I may get more. I’ve had brown discharge twice since then and today I’ve had like a throbbing pain in my stomach and a few dull pains, has anyone else experienced them?
They said to ring them if I need any reassurance/advice so I may do that next week.. I don’t know if I’m being overly anxious 😬

MeganC104 · 08/04/2023 20:41

@Mrsrobinsonx I haven't had bleeding or brown discharge but I do occasionally get throbbing or aches in my tummy. It doesn't happen for long but I think it's stretching pains.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 08/04/2023 22:07

The past couple of days I've had a lot of those stretchy period like pains, then today I had a small amount of blood streaked through discharge. I tried to ring GP as usually open Sat but they've said closed until tues and if I need anything to call 111 which I'd rather avoid. All I've managed to eat today is 2 slices of bread, my poor DH made my favourite curry, I threw up when he opened the kitchen door and I could smell it 🤢.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 08/04/2023 22:10

I should say poor guy abandoned the food to come rub my back. I had to ask him between bouts of retching to go change his clothes as they smelt of the curry and were making me more sick 🙈

Please may I join? I have secondary infertility (5 years of ivf, surgeries, endless tests, all the money in the world, a million drugs) plus 4 early miscarriages means I've been cautious to join! From LMP I'm 10+1 but last scan I measured 9+2 (but that's been pretty consistent). It's a letrazole pregnancy and this is the furthest I've got, since my dd nearly 7 years ago. Only symptoms I have are tender nipples, tiredness (might just be life!) and I had four days of a bit of brown spotting last week (think it might have been when my period would have been) but all was fine at the scan. I've finally been brave enough to book in with the midwife, so seeing her this week. I'm under a recurrent miscarriage clinic so have lots of scans and meds!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome! I'm sorry for the rough journey you've had to get here ❤️

SnookyPook · 08/04/2023 22:46

@seven201 welcome! Gosh you've been through a lot! Sorry for your struggles but hopefully this will be your little rainbow baby 🥰

BabyBabyBaby123 · 08/04/2023 22:51

@FlyingHighFlyingLow if you go through 111 online and put your symptoms in, at the end it might give you a number to call for advice. I did this when I had some spotting the other day and got a 24 hour number to call, but as I had a scan booked at the EPU already I was told to just keep that appointment for Wednesday.
Just might get you through to someone before Tuesday.

flowerlover1990 · 08/04/2023 22:52

Sorry you've had a tough day @FlyingHighFlyingLow such a shame about the favourite curry too 🙈 My OH has given me lots of back rubs tonight too. He cooked me dinner and I threw it all up 🤣 bless them x

JD90 · 09/04/2023 15:24

6+3 and pregnancy wise not really got too many symptoms, unfortunately I have picked up some kind of flu/sinus/chest infection from my teenager. I feel truly awful! I could deal with the pregnancy nausea if it wasn't paired with coughing (which then makes me throw up), raging headache, inability to breathe, etc. Not being able to take anything other than paracetamol either is tough! Spent ages in the shower earlier and the humid atmosphere definitely helped. Genuinely have no idea how I'm going to go back to work on Tuesday. Just needed to have a bit of a whinge is all, DP is trying to be helpful and look after me but my moods are awful I feel sorry for him!

seven201 · 09/04/2023 15:50

Thanks for the welcome everyome. Happy Easter Sunday!

@FlyingHighFlyingLow how are you getting on? Any more red spotting? I had three red bleeds with my dd, so it's not necessarily bad news.

@JD90 sorry to hear about the illnesses. Just after my bfp I had sinisitis followed by a stomach bug, followed by a cold. I'm on steroids so put it down to weakened immune system and working in a school, but it was a truly shitty time! Hope you get better.

I've had more dark brown spotting this morning, which is annoying as I thought it had stopped. Was just the once today (so far) though.

doozledog · 09/04/2023 18:17

Im 10 weeks today and my lower back is killing me along with cramps i just feel uncomfy all the time, anybody else?

JD90 · 09/04/2023 18:28

Oh ffs just managed to find a test and it turns out I've got covid... for the 4th possible 5th time. This does not bode well for me at all for the next few months as every time it has had a huge knock on effect to my health.

TMI2000 · 09/04/2023 18:46

@doozledog ive had this, I’m only 7+5 but feel like I’m some positions I sit I have back pain and in some I get cramps, awful considering my job is in admin!

@JD90 oh I really feel for you, one of the things that made me test was I caught a flu that quickly developed into a chest infection which I had for 2 weeks! I never normally get bugs so easily! Hope you’re feeling better soon and if you start feeling too rough definitely contact your GP!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 09/04/2023 19:19

@BabyBabyBaby123 @seven201 thanks! Still the same, tried 111 this morning, got told OOH would ring me back in 2 hours, after 4 I got a text saying they're too busy and prioritising. Now been almost 12 hours and still waiting!

Hope you feel better @JD90

seven201 · 09/04/2023 19:27

@FlyingHighFlyingLow oh how frustrating! Are you tempered to try and get a private scan? I mean at a medical place, not a 'window to the womb' type.

@JD90 oh no!!! I hope you still have some immunity from last time and it doesn't knock you too much. Are you going to try and speak to a midwife or GP?
