I've 8 week scan on Wednesday in EPU and absolutely up walls worried too, it was 8 weeks scan before I found out about MMC, I hadn't any notion, not even so much as a spot of blood and the pregnancy had ended 2 weeks before.

I'm trying to keep myself busy cleaning and shopping online, Wednesday can't come quick enough but also don't want it to come quick if it's bad news 😬

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 03/04/2023 21:27

Seems a lot of us are in the same boat it seems! It's great to have you ladies this week as MMC can feel like you're the only one its ever happened to.

@Mummytobe2023 we will all be thinking of you tomorrow! Stay positive. It's more likely to go really well than anything else.

@vix_85 again, it would be so rare to happen to us the second time so statistics are on our side

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 03/04/2023 21:28

@38andtrying I was the same. No spotting, cramps or pain before which just increased the shock. Will be thinking of you wed and hopefully it's the start of you being able to relax into your pregnancy

vix_85 · 03/04/2023 21:41

@ExcitedandNervousC1 I so hope so. This is our 5th pregnancy. We had the MMC then 3 MC at home. Praying this is the one that sticks 🙏 Best of luck for your scan x

Mldn · 03/04/2023 22:12

Are we allowed paracetamol? Absolute killer of a headache all day & I’ve just battled through. But I’ve been lay in bed over an hour now & think I need something to take the edge off to allow me some sleep 😩

I was told paracetamol safe, ibuprofen NOT safe

Mldn · 03/04/2023 22:14

@FlyingHighFlyingLow thank you! So much conflicting advice on the internet, I don’t feel safe doing anything really. I see my midwife for my booking in appt on Wednesday so hopefully can grill her on my endless list of worries x

NatGee · 03/04/2023 22:30

@ExcitedandNervousC1 @38andtrying I am sorry to hear of your past mmc. Like you say, its not common for it to happen twice in a row so take heart beanies are here to stay x may i ask whether your symptoms carried on or had they stopped ??

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 03/04/2023 22:33

@NatGee before my MMC I had limited nausea but constant throughout and fatigue lasted until after my D&C so symptoms were there although this time I feel fatigue and nausea have been worse so am praying
I tested positive for up to 3 weeks after my D&C though so had high hcg it seemed

38andtrying · 03/04/2023 22:52

@NatGee my symptoms definitely stopped, I had been remarking how great i had felt coming up to scan, I naively didn't twig this could have been an issue, I genuinely didn't know there was such thing as a MMC, I thought you only worried if you had pain or bleeding and so the news at the 8 week scan floored me. My symptoms this time are defo more pronounced although come and go so I'm freaking again, the tiredness has remained this time whereas last time that had also dissipated.

Fairylight102 · 04/04/2023 07:07

@Chellooo That sounds totally understandable. I had a miscarriage of my first pregnancy at 6+1, I’m 6+3 and the last few days I had it in the back of my mind every time I went to the loo.

Like you I’m experiencing a lot more nausea this time around (it’s hit me like a ton of bricks since reaching 6 weeks) and trying to stay confident this is a sign that things are developing more strongly this time round.

Hope everything goes ok for you x

MeganC104 · 04/04/2023 07:11

@Mldn yes paracetamol is safe. I've had 2 viruses this pregnancy so far and had to take something to relieve the pain so I've been taking it.

I'm 10 weeks today. Apparently nausea gets better from now but I still spent the morning dry heaving 🤣 oh please be coming to an end 🤞

Psqueak87 · 04/04/2023 07:31

Has anyone’s nausea / sickness just completely disappeared? I was nauseous pretty much constantly from week 6-9 and then on week 9+1 it all came to a sudden end, no nausea at all anymore. I’m super paranoid about it, made an apt with my doctor for Thursday so that she can use her little heart rate ultrasound on me to make sure all is still good…..

NatGee · 04/04/2023 07:34

Thank you ladies seems like there's no rhyme or reason to it. Symptoms or lack of them doesn't necessarily mean much for certain
I've certainly been feeling less nauseated now at 8+3 than i did at 5/6 week mark. But on the flipside I'm more tired, waking up to pee every night and have heartburn.

Mrsrobinsonx · 04/04/2023 08:02

I’ve already had an early scan but as it was so early I’m still worrying things can go wrong, I’m so paranoid that some of my symptoms are less than last week or gone away. 🤦‍♀️ this is so hard.

38andtrying · 04/04/2023 09:14

I'm really glad that I'm not the only person worrying about symptoms coming and going or lack of them, seeing people come back from scans then with good news has gave me great comfort and contentment, my scan is tomorrow morning and praying I can do same

NatGee · 04/04/2023 09:25

@38andtrying good luck, i am pretty sure itll go well :)

vix_85 · 04/04/2023 09:32

Has anyone with recurrent MC been advised against sex and orgasm? There is so much conflicting information on the Internet about potential to cause muscle contractions which could lead to MC. I'm climbing the walls though!

thecatsthecats · 04/04/2023 11:04

I'm coming down off the nausea now. Some bad days if I'm especially tired, and I'm still on Cyclizine, but I can brush my teeth properly at last. I'm 10+3.

Boobs still inflatable though, and getting ligament pains.

vix_85 · 04/04/2023 11:22

@thecatsthecats have you had pains and twinges throughout? I've been getting little pinches right side today and had minor lower aches. Reading up it all suggests it's Normal but my head is in a constant spin.

Rebs23 · 04/04/2023 11:54

I’m 7weeks today and the fatigue is real! Sat at my desk struggling to keep my eyes open!

Mldn · 04/04/2023 11:58

I’m 9+2 today & have lost weight on the scales. But I’ve just put my looser pair of jeans on for the first time all pregnancy.. so far been in stretchy gym wear all the time. And omg they are tightttt everywhere. Buttons just about fasten around my tum!

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 04/04/2023 12:28

@vix_85 I was told by my doctor that sex/orgasms have no impact especially in first trimester :)

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 04/04/2023 12:30

@Mummytobe2023 good luck today !!! Hope it goes well!

anna2101 · 04/04/2023 13:37

@Rebs23 that was me at 5-7 weeks! On one of the days I was in the office I actually ended up sneaking away to the toilets and taking a power nap in the toilet stall - sounds ridiculous but I really needed it.
