@Lianna93 that's brilliant! So pleased for you. I really hope it helps my little one. Just hate seeing her so uncomfortable.

My one hasn't pooed since Sunday so hopefully this will help with that too.

@SamanthaVimes @strawberrysummer19 The sleep was definitely needed! It's been a lot of sleepless nights with no chances of naps due to her being super uncomfortable & clingy 😩

Really hope the Infacol works for you! @strawberrysummer19 My HV said it was definitely okay to use but 'there's not a lot of evidence it works'
I can absolutely say with confidence it works. We had an explosive nappy not too long ago & lots of burps and pumps again!
Tempted to take the Infacol myself πŸ˜‚

@Lianna93 mine said the same
When I asked her last week but i felt
It has got worse hence trying it now
Second bottle trying with it now so really hoping it helps x

annie1994 · 09/08/2022 13:09

@missv556 i have my 6 week check up this afternoon and it’s face to face. I remember from DS1 that they physically check baby over and measure them but maybe it’s different between trusts?

@strawberrysummer19 are you formula feeding? If so, when my baby hasn’t pooped for a couple days I give him a bottle or two of pre made formula and that usually helps him go later that day or next day. May be worth a shot? With DS1 I found infacol helped to begin with getting big burps up but eventually it wore off. Aptamil do have a comfort formula which is for colic and constipation so that may help…. It’s all a bit trial and error!!

SamanthaVimes · 09/08/2022 13:13

My GP has combined the 6 week check and 8 week vaccinations so I won’t see anyone until 8 weeks. The letter said it’s β€œfor my convenience” but is obviously for theirs!

Lianna93 · 09/08/2022 13:28

I was told to get my 6 week check booked in by my midwife - just phoned up just now to set the appointment just to be told I can't book an appointment until my health visitor has done a 6 week check on my baby... I legit hate how every single trust is different. There's no consistency anywhere & it's super frustrating.

@annie1994 yes I'm Formula feeding
Oh that's interesting will try that

SamanthaVimes · 09/08/2022 13:31

@Lianna93 I agree it’s ridiculous how inconsistent care is! You’d think by more someone would have worked out the best way to do it and everyone could get the same

ChinChilly · 09/08/2022 13:58

Has anybody thought about contraception, I’m not sure what to do. I’m reluctant to go back on the pill as it definitely affected my mood and sex drive. I think we will try for number 2 in 12-18 month time too and it took a while for my body to get back to normal. I don’t want anything hormonal and condoms well they’re just a faff…what’s everybody else planning on doing?

strawberrysummer19 · 09/08/2022 14:20

@ChinChilly mini pill for me, I don't like the thought of the coil and I'll suck up the hormones or how it makes me feel as I'm done with my babies. I have two and I'm 40 so for me getting pregnant again isn't on my to do list!

X

Lianna93 · 09/08/2022 14:29

@ChinChilly I'm not sure about contraception... I haven't used any in like 10 years (DH & I have been together for 12). My reasons being I'm allergic to latex, I'm high risk of a stroke if I take combined pill & the mini pill brings on depression πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ
I'm too much of a shitebag to get anything actually put into my body like the coil or implant. So it really limits my options πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 09/08/2022 14:34

@Lianna93 how did you prevent pregnancy for so long? I was doing my temperature every morning but I’m not sure that’s going to accurate with a baby. I’m the same with the coil plus it lasts for 5-10 years so seems pointless having it put in for a year then having it back out again. If I hadn’t of had a section I think I would of been happy to just see what happens but obviously need to wait abit longer for that to heal

@strawberrysummer19 ahh I don’t blame you! After number 2 I think I’ll be done!

Lianna93 · 09/08/2022 14:37

@ChinChilly We used the pull out method & I suppose got very lucky that we never fell pregnant until we decided it was time to actually start trying... which wasn't an instant thing either πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

OP posts:
SamanthaVimes · 09/08/2022 14:58

@ChinChilly DH is getting a vasectomy as we’re done with 2.
I didn’t go on anything between DC1 and 2, frankly we didn’t have the energy to have much sex so it wasn’t an issue for ages. DC2 is technically an oops baby but we knew we wanted 2 eventually so weren’t putting much effort into stopping it if that makes sense

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 09/08/2022 15:05

@ChinChilly Probably the pill for me… I like to know when I’m going to have a bleed. I’m not planning on having anymore children! 3 boys is enough 🀣
@Lianna93 before trying for the 3rd I wasn’t on anything and done withdrawal method for 2 years with no accidents lol. Does get a bit messy though 🀣

ShellUK09 · 09/08/2022 15:39

Mini pill for me. I've been on it most of my adult life and loved it as the main side effect of it for me was no periods, so I want to get back on it as soon as I can!

Lianna93 · 09/08/2022 15:57

Has anyone had their first period yet? I've got the actual fear for it coming πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚
Though, I have read that if you're breastfeeding, it could take a while before periods start again... Disliking the unknown πŸ˜‚

OP posts:
annie1994 · 09/08/2022 16:17

@ChinChilly O just had my 6 week check and am getting booked in for the coil πŸ˜–getting it put in freaks me out but once it’s in I think it should work well for me. I don’t want anymore kids (2 boys is enough πŸ˜‚) but me and my partner are only 28 and 30 so we feel he’s a bit young to get snip yet. In 5 years or so time he can do his bit and get the snip πŸ˜‚

@Lianna93 I’m on my first period now (nearly 7 weeks pp) but I’m formula feeding only now. I remember my first with my eldest was really heavy but this time round it doesn't seem that heavy! My eldest was vaginal birth whereas this time was caesarean so not sure if that makes any difference πŸ€”

strawberrysummer19 · 09/08/2022 19:45

Anyone that is using infacol how are you cleaning the dropper? I've been using boiling water after starting using it today but just setting up for night feeds and wondering ? As on tut goes in babies mouth? So does it need cleaning every time rather than putting back in the bottle ?

X

Lianna93 · 09/08/2022 20:18

@strawberrysummer19 I haven't once cleaned the dropper since it's just her that's taking it πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

OP posts:
strawberrysummer19 · 09/08/2022 20:26

@Lianna93 -ah ok! I won't bother anymore lol
Over thinking everything!! X

Lianna93 · 10/08/2022 08:58

@strawberrysummer19 how did you get on with the Infacol?

OP posts:
strawberrysummer19 · 10/08/2022 09:20

@Lianna93 morning, ok I think it's helping
We did have a better night then night before
She was still a bit vocal but not as bad as night before !
She also did a poo so that may help as it's been a few days so not sure if it's the infacol that helped but I'm definitely keeping it going

She fed at 1030, settled at midnight then fed at 2am, 5am and then we got up for 8 and came down for a feed - she did sleep in between al be it a bit noisy but I do feel like I've slept as opposed to last night where she wasn't settling!

How are you ? X how was your night? X

SamanthaVimes · 10/08/2022 10:52

Will anyone else’s baby refuse to sleep put down? DS will sleep on us after a bit of bouncing about but won’t transfer and my trick of feeding lying down and cosleeping isn’t working either (apparently being on the bed touching me isn’t as good as being held)

I don’t mind at all in the day, happy to hold him but I need to sleep at some point!

Anyone got any ideas before I send him back?!

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 10/08/2022 11:57

@SamanthaVimes my boy is 5 weeks today and he just refuses to sleep in the day time! He will fall asleep on me but when I put him down he will wake up. It can take up to 2 hours for him to nap after a feed if his going to nap. His formula fed I’ve tried changing milk but haven’t seen a difference yet and using infacol. He brings up a lot of wind sometimes I just have to sit him up and he will burp and the other end is non stop πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€£He will have a long nap now and again up to 4 hours but not consistent I’m luckily if he even has an hour. Went shopping yesterday after he had a feed and still screamed the place down and I had to carry him around while trying to shop so now I have anxiety about going out because he does it every time πŸ™„ but at night he will easily do 4-6 hours πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I don’t get it lol. His my third and final his been the hardest so far and my other 2 suffered badly with colic but was nothing compared to him but yet when he smiles his just so cute 🀣
