@ShellUK09 hard isn't it - just feels relentless
We share the night feeds too but it just doesn't feel enough and we are both so tired

FiancΓ© is working but from home so it's easier sort of as he's here but still have long periods where he is at work but nothing just seems to get done!

I'm glad the infacol is working
I'm not even sure it is for us

X

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 22/08/2022 18:41

@ChinChilly I hope it’s not eczema 🀞🏻 And if it is then can be easily managed with cream etc bless her! Dentinox can be added to the milk or given to the baby but it is quite minty.

@strawberrysummer19 thank you sometimes I wonder how I’ve made it to nearly 7 weeks! Hope your little one settles soon 🀞🏻 Feel like this is defo the 4th trimester for many of us!

@ShellUK09 I hope your little one is ok it’s so horrible when they have a cold and can’t really have anything to help them! Hopefully after 12 weeks 🀞🏻
My little one sleeps in the next 2 me at night it’s just during the day he likes to sleep being held or if he is put down it’s for like 30mins or so then nothing gets done! It won’t hurt to try the Moses basket.. hopefully does work and you can get a good night sleep 🀞🏻I even dread leaving the house with him cos he just screams and wants to be held so take him out in carrier just for an easy life 🀣 had to go shopping today but wasn’t as bad as he usually is and didn’t have to get him out of the carrycot. He is nearly 7 weeks old. Aww I hope she’s ok with the injections! I’m still waiting for an appointment I should hear this week 🀞🏻
I purchased a high chair from Amazon one from newborn to 3 years. He loves in the there can see everything and is pretty much near my level. He even had a long nap in it 🀣

ShellUK09 · 22/08/2022 19:48

@Fizzybubblegumbottles yes praying after 12 weeks it gets a bit easier as surely there is a limit as to how tired you can become! I keep looking at some of my neighbours who also have young babies, there is one about 4 month old and another neighbour has a 6 month old and they all seem so relaxed, so I keep hoping that is our future! I dread a screaming fit when we are out and about too, I know other people generally don't care but at that moment your baby sounds like the loudest baby in the world! Ah it is the opposite for us, she sleeps in the Moses basket during the day fine normally, but doesn't seem to like the crib at night at all. That high chair sounds like a brilliant buy!

@strawberrysummer19 yes it is so hard, we are both struggling so much with tiredness. I honestly don't know how single parents manage. Once we start getting a bit more sleep better times will come, have to keep remembering it's still early days. It's so hard to find a solution to the wind, can't wait until our baby can hold her head up on her own and this is no longer an issue (well hopefully!), but then feel bad for wishing the time away too, can't win!

strawberrysummer19 · 22/08/2022 20:01

@ShellUK09 yes exactly! I feel the same like I'm wishing time away
Making me feel so miserable today and I feel sad
She's been uncomfortable most the day and it's just horrid x

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 22/08/2022 20:05

@ShellUK09 my nephew is 4 months old and such a chilled baby but he wasn’t before that! So I have hope 🀣 my other 2 were easy but just suffered with really bad colic in the evening. I know I suppose I can’t moan as he only wakes up once for a feed around 3/4am then around 8/9am. I know he is very loud and it’s the proper high pitched cry! She should be fine in there at night if she’s happy in there during the day.. might even be the mattress maybe the Moses basket is more comfortable and like you say more cosy like the buggy carrycot.

strawberrysummer19 · 22/08/2022 21:13

So we've ditched the infacol and started on the gripe water!

Has anyone tried this? Know it may or may not work but feel like anything is worth a shot at this stage

She normally has a feed for around 10pm and we go up with her - she's not slept a lot today as been awake crying and unsettled so just hoping she gets some comfort, so watch this space and wish us luck!

Today has by far been the worst

X

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 22/08/2022 21:55

@strawberrysummer19 I’ve tried gripe water on the few evenings before I started the drops and they did help soothe him and bring up wind. Good luck 🀞🏻 Hope tonight is a better night for you x

strawberrysummer19 · 22/08/2022 22:02

@Fizzybubblegumbottles We can but try!
It's only because I have some in the house that someone bought me in a new baby hamper
I'll try that for a good few days and get some colief if it doesn't make a difference

Just conscious of trying too many things at once

Thank you, hope everyone has a nice settled eve
I shall update tomorrow x

SamanthaVimes · 23/08/2022 01:27

@ShellUK09 I think been 8 and 12 weeks it should start getting easier, I sympathise with the lack of sleep though, it’s so hard! I’m absolutely knackered.
As to when they sleep through DD didn’t until about 20 months (admittedly on the bad end of normal) but I’m hoping it will start to get more manageable soon. Eg as they get stronger less burping etc needed and won’t need to change nappy in the night so the whole process should hopefully get quicker and we can get back to bed!

ChinChilly · 23/08/2022 03:38

@Fizzybubblegumbottles the dentinox did not go down well her little face all twisted up and she spat it all out. I had a bottle of infacol in a hamper but was reluctant to use it due to it potentially making reflux worse and she can be abit sicky but it seems to have to done the trick, no squirming after her feed and she’s slept 9-3 had a feed and has nodded back off.

@ShellUK09 @strawberrysummer19 I feel the same about wishing time away the cuddles are nice but the newborn stage is hard! Comforting to know we’re all going through the same.

I’ve been doing the night feeds now OH is back at work, he gets up around 5:30 to take the dog out so that’s something I don’t have to deal with! Can’t wait for things to get easier

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 23/08/2022 04:49

@ChinChilly ahh I know the dentinox doesn’t smell the best but you can put it straight in to the milk. Infacol does smell a lot better lol! That’s really good! Glad she was a lot better tonight. My son had a feed at 10.45 and has just woke up for a feed now πŸ₯±

ChinChilly · 23/08/2022 10:01

@Fizzybubblegumbottles I’m not sure she would of drank her milk if it was in there her face looked absolutely disgusted πŸ˜‚ I’m reluctant to keep using the infacol because of the reflux and constipation issues it can cause.

@strawberrysummer19 how did you get on with the gripe water

KizboBaggins · 23/08/2022 10:10

What's everyone's overnights looking like? And what age is your baby? Just trying to get a gauge of whether ours is similar to everyone else's. I know every baby is different but just interesting (and apologies and empathy to those who aren't getting much sleep at all!)

My DS is 5 weeks old and going around 3hrs to 3.5hrs at night between feeds e.g.
10pm feed
1.30am feed
4.30am feed
Up around 6.30/7am

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 23/08/2022 10:19

@ChinChilly haha 🀣 see how she goes and maybe just give it to her during the evenings/night feeds if it’s then she’s struggling or maybe every other feed.

@strawberrysummer19 hope you had a better night 🀞🏻

@KizboBaggins my little boy is 7 weeks tomorrow and has a feed between 10/11pm and then wakes up normally between 3/4am and then around 8/9am. He is bottle feeding so not sure if that makes a difference.

ShellUK09 · 23/08/2022 10:40

@Fizzybubblegumbottles ah that's good to know, if your nephew is calmer at 4 months that is something to work towards! My baby actually slept well last night, I'm always surprised when that happens! I wake up and check the time in amazement that we have managed a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, although it doesn't happen very often! Haven't swopped to the Moses basket yet but I will do if we have many more bad nights. Every night seems different lately!

@strawberrysummer19 how was the gripe water? I have some as well but I haven't used it yet. That was going to be the next thing I tried if infacol wasn't working. Hope you had a better night.

@SamanthaVimes yes it's like living in a permanent state of zombie like tiredness. It takes me all my effort and planning to get showered and ready these days! Have to wait until baby has been fed and nappy changed and is settled enough to sit in the bouncer next to my partner for 20 minutes while he works from home while I nip in the shower. Fingers crossed for improvements from 8 weeks, as my little one is 8 weeks old today!

@ChinChilly I know it has been nice to read that everyone is having similar experiences here. I have been looking at some of her newborn clothes now that are too small and thinking wow how did you grow so fast?! Some of the clothes are beautiful and she only wore them once πŸ₯Ί we got given so many clothes as gifts and I've been trying to get her photographed in them before she grows too big! Glad infacol worked for you too, I'm scared of it running out so going to get an emergency back up bottle!

SamanthaVimes · 23/08/2022 11:00

@KizboBaggins
5 weeks here too. Our night look like this:

feed around 10 pm
1:30
3:00
4:30/5:00
7:00

unless it’s a bad night, then there’ll be an 11 pm and 2:00 wake as well or one of the wakes will take over an hour to sort out or he won’t be put down after the 5:00 one.

I haven’t worked out any rhyme or reason to the β€œgood” vs bad nights, it seems really random

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 23/08/2022 11:04

@ShellUK09 oh that’s really good! I hope it continues for you 🀞🏻 I feel once they get in to a good sleep routine they have a growth spurt or development milestone that throws it all out πŸ™„

ChinChilly · 23/08/2022 11:40

@KizboBaggins every night seems to be different here but last night was:
9pm feed
3:00 feed
4:30 rocked back to sleep
7:00 up for the day and feed

the night before hardly slept at all but she’s tends to do around 9/10 until 3/3:30

@ShellUK09 I know I bagged aload of clothes up last week she no longer fits into and I put her in her Moses basket downstairs yesterday and she just looked huge in there! I’ve been doing the same with the photographs lol have you noticed any side effects from the infacol?

@Fizzybubblegumbottles yeah that’s true, I’ll see how she goes with the infacol if I can’t get any co lactase today. I noticed that with the leaps and growth spurts they seem to be every few weeks πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Just got back from the doctor with LO she has got infantile eczema, poor sausage. Got a mild steroid cream for her because it is rather angry looking

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 23/08/2022 11:46

@ChinChilly I got mine from boots if that’s any help. I know πŸ™„ he still fits in newborn/first size stuff lol the 0-3 swamp him.
Oh bless her I hope the steroid clears it up quickly 🀞🏻

KizboBaggins · 23/08/2022 12:12

@Fizzybubblegumbottles how much does your LO weigh? My boy is 5 weeks and already in the 0-3 month size 😬 last time he was weighed he was 8lb 4oz but I've weighed him myself since and I think he's 10lb already.

@ChinChilly how old is your little one? Sounds like a similar routine to my boy. I'm trying really hard not to try and get used to any sort of routine or to track stuff too much as I know how quick it can change, but my routine-loving brain just wants things to move in set stages

missv556 · 23/08/2022 12:16

My boy is 6 weeks tomorrow and the routine seems to be down for the night around 10pm, one overnight feed between 2-3am then up for the day around 6am

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 23/08/2022 12:23

@KizboBaggins he was weighed last Wednesday (17th) he was 10lb. Aww bless him so cute πŸ₯° his vests have so much gather at the top in 0-3 haven’t even attempted a sleep suit in 0-3 yet 🀣

Due July 2022 (Thread 7)
ChinChilly · 23/08/2022 12:24

@Fizzybubblegumbottles I’m going to pop to boots in abit, see if I can get my hands on some. I put a 0-3 baby grow on her last night and it was huge had to take it off. She generally fits in up to 1 month stuff but her feet look abit scrunched up.

@KizboBaggins I love a routine aswell so I’m finding it hard to just take each night as it comes

KizboBaggins · 23/08/2022 12:27

@Fizzybubblegumbottles oh my goodness he is SO adorable! I just wanna squidge his little cheeks 😍 when did he start smiling like that? I cannot wait to see my boy do that! There's definitely a bit of room in the 0-3, but the one month ones are too short. It's awkward when they're in the in between stages!

@ChinChilly if it helps I found the Aldi 0-3 month baby grows are a bit smaller (a tiny bit), at least compared to some primark ones I've got!

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 23/08/2022 12:29

@ChinChilly hopefully you can get some 🀞🏻Bless her lol you can just cut the feet part off and wear socks lol πŸ€ͺ
