@Lianna93 mine has a rash of small bumps on her face / chest as well. I was getting concerned about dairy intolerance as she was doing some green poos as well.
Spoke to a health visitor & they said green poo could be a bit of a "tummy bug" or baby sucking in too much wind - it was also around the time baby had lots of trapped wind.

I've also carried on eating dairy in the same amounts & poos are back to normal colour & rash fades off some days so don't think it can be that?
Health visitor is coming today for 6 wk check so will see if she says anything.

@SamanthaVimes ouch! Hope you can clear it with feeding / hot cloths.

ChinChilly · 15/08/2022 10:05

@Lianna93 We’ve had a rash here aswell, just on her face clusters of red bumps with yellow heads, I toke her to the doctors because her little face was covered in it and he said it was just a normal new born rash. I was seeing the midwife the next day aswell and she said the same and to just keep and eye on it. It is clearing now but they did both say it can come and go

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 15/08/2022 10:45

@Lianna93 yeah my little one has a rash too on his face, neck and chest- it’s been very hot where I am though and his only been in a nappy for the last few days.

KizboBaggins · 15/08/2022 10:46

@Lianna93 my boy had a bit of a rash on his face and neck but HV said it was a combo of baby acne and heat. It's much better today but has been around for a week or so before now

summersun222 · 15/08/2022 19:05

Can someone help with this decision please

A no-brainer probably just wanted to check if anyone has had this?

Had a call from the vaccine people who has offered TB vaccine for my baby - they are calling me back tomorrow to see if I want to get her vaccined

My mum is half Thai and they said Thailand is on one of the countries

They were talking about family members but my mum was 8 yrs old when she left Thailand and we have no family members there

Anyway, anyone be able to help? X

SamanthaVimes · 15/08/2022 19:15

@summersun222 we’ve been offered the TB vaccine too as DH was born in China. We’ll be getting it for DS on Wednesday.

With DD it was offered when she was about 4 hours old and we didn’t really know anything about it so panicked a bit and said no as nobody really explained why it was on offer to us but not part of the β€œnormalβ€œ vaccine schedule but I regret not getting it for her now.

When we eventually go to China she’ll have to have it before we go

DayToNight · 16/08/2022 06:51

Anyone else already got a unwell DC? My mum visited two weeks ago and we all have a cold. Poor baby Rupert is struggling, and you can't give them anything to help. Been using baby sterimar to clear his nose and I'm hoping it is nearly over. It's made our nights even worse.

SamanthaVimes · 16/08/2022 07:07

@DayToNight we’re almost over it now but DD brought home a cold from nursery and me and DS both caught it. Bit of a new experience for us as DD was a lockdown baby so didn’t get any illness until she was about 9 months old and a lot more robust!

It’s miserable not being able to give them anything. Most stuff is from 2 or 3 months.

If they’re bunged up and you’re breastfeeding I’ve heard a squirt of milk up the nose can really help clear it (although I haven’t tried it myself!)

Lianna93 · 16/08/2022 14:11

@CaptainCarp @ChinChilly @Fizzybubblegumbottles @KizboBaggins Her rash seems to have calmed down, however we got a couple of nappies with some blood in her poo - not a lot, just streaks but looks like I'm gonna have to go dairy free. However, minus the rash a lot of her symptoms also point to reflux so I'm going to ask if can explore that as well and see if a prescription of omeprazole will help 🀞🏻

I have also been struck down by the dreaded first period πŸ˜” 5 weeks after birth. I'm exclusively breastfeeding so I was like wtf is this lol didn't expect it so quick

SamanthaVimes · 17/08/2022 11:21

@missv556 oh no! That’s so unlucky

kiwi17 · 17/08/2022 11:36

@missv556 I think I have too and am also exclusively bf!! So annoyed, they didn't come back until about 10 months with my first so I was not expecting this :(

Lianna93 · 17/08/2022 13:04

@missv556 Have you found yours have changed?
I'm absolutely dreading my first one - I always got them so bad before. I'm praying that my first one hits when DH is off so if it floors me he can look after the baby 🀞🏻

@Lianna93 hope your little one is doing ok bless her.
Im 6 weeks pp today and formula feeding, I’m still waiting for my first period to arrive…

What size nappies is everyone’s little ones in and what brand? Got my son weighed today his 10lb and moving in to size 2. I’ve been using a mixture of pampers, Lidl’s and Aldis size 1s- most of them have been freebies 🀣

Also how often are you bathing them? I’m giving him one twice a week at the moment. Sorry random questions and totally off period topic πŸ€ͺ🀣

SamanthaVimes · 17/08/2022 14:23

@Fizzybubblegumbottles My little one is in size 2, I have no idea how much he weighs but when he leaked through 5 size 1s in a row we decided it was time to move up a size!

I don’t give him a proper bath very often, tbh he’s not that dirty and his undercarriage gets a decent wash every nappy change. He gets a bit of a flannel to keep him cleanish everywhere else if he needs it.

annie1994 · 17/08/2022 14:23

I had my first period last week and wow 😳 first couple days I was just spotting which I thought was odd.. then on the Wednesday I was soo heavy, like heavier than after I gave birth I’d say! It was awful but luckily only lasted a couple days then went back to β€˜normal’ flow.

@Fizzybubblegumbottles we bath him 2 or 3 times a week ☺️

My little one had his first set of jabs this morning so lots of cuddles today!

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 17/08/2022 14:31

@SamanthaVimes bless him does your little boy like a bath? My boy loves a bath I sometimes use the Angel care seat or just lay him in it and he flaps his arms and kicks his legs lol. Yeah I use a flannel too if he needs it.
We have had a few nappy explosions 🀣

@annie1994 does he enjoy his baths? Bless him hope he is ok! I’m still waiting for a letter for my sons appointment. The doctors said I should get the letter when his 6 weeks old so should be this week I hear. They do the 6-8 week check and injections in one appointment.

Time is going so fast 😒

SamanthaVimes · 17/08/2022 15:12

@Fizzybubblegumbottles he doesn’t seem to mind it (at least he doesn’t kick off like his sister used to!)

We’ve got the angel care bath seat too, it’s really good

Lianna93 · 17/08/2022 15:12

@Fizzybubblegumbottles She's still inconsolable 90% of the time - that's me started dairy free but we're also being prescribed something to help see if it's reflux. Praying it's reflux... Dairy is like half my diet 😩

My little one is still in size 1s but I don't think it'll be long til we move up a size. We mainly use Tesco & Aldi.

Mines is bathed almost every day because she's constantly spitting up & it goes in her hair 🀒

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 17/08/2022 15:20

@SamanthaVimes so cute! It’s funny how some babies love bath time and others absolutely hate it!

@Lianna93 bless her! I hope it works and it’s not to do with dairy 🀞🏻🀞🏻oh yeah I’ve used tescos too so far I’ve found the nappies I’ve used have all been fine. Does she enjoy having a bath?

Lianna93 · 17/08/2022 15:27

@Fizzybubblegumbottles That's her just started enjoying the bath. She starts crying when we take her out πŸ˜‚

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 17/08/2022 15:33

@Lianna93 awww that’s so cute!!

missv556 · 17/08/2022 15:37

@Lianna93 I had irregular cycles which resulted in some terribly heavy periods before I conceived but so far this seems to be "normal" flow. Lighter than previously at least. Hoping I'm back to my typical cycles before they went wonky

@Fizzybubblegumbottles my boy is still in size 1 of aldi nappies. Not sure how much he weighs atm but I'm sure he won't be in size 1 too much longer. And he gets bathed about every 3-4 days but gets a wipe down every day cos he gets ever so sweaty because my home is basically an oven. Funny you asked about the bath because I've not long given him one and I did it alone for the first time. The bath calms him, he sits there chilling like he's living his best life haha

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 17/08/2022 15:53

@missv556 I have one size 1 left then moving on to size 2. Didn’t think he would be in size 1s for long.

I know it’s been awful! Even with the rain it’s still horrible! Bless him lol my boy loves the bath and I bet it feels good to get some air to their bums 🀣 well done you πŸ™ŒπŸ» I’m gonna give him one later

missv556 · 17/08/2022 16:15

@Fizzybubblegumbottles I was worried about the air to his bum tbh he farted in the bath and I thought he'd done a poo for a split second πŸ˜‚ I didn't buy any size 1 nappies before birth because I was estimated to have a big baby so I got several packs of size 2s but he only ended up 7 lbs 14 oz at birth and size 2 was a bit too big. I wasn't expecting him to be in size 1 for long but he did lose some weight at birth and it took a bit of time for him to catch back up otherwise he'd probably be ready for size 2 cos he's a chunk now, he was 8 lbs 8 oz when he was weighed 2 weeks ago so he could be close to 10 lbs now maybe
