@Lianna93 same here, both yesterday and today she's hardly been sleeping at all, driving me nuts lol.

@ChinChilly my LO been doing that since week 1! Definitely wasn't expecting it so soon, and it's making me super paranoid at night as like last night I woke up and she'd wiggled and rolled right up against the edge of the cot 😖 I keep trying to put her on her back but she just rolls right over immediately!

annie1994 · 11/08/2022 19:42

@KizboBaggins my lo has slept loads today too, think it’s just the heat and a sleepy day! Hope it doesn’t affect tonight 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Lianna93 · 11/08/2022 19:53

@ChinChilly I've got a roller too 🙈😂 but thankfully only when she's awake.

@NamelessBaby1 it's an absolute nightmare because she won't let me put her down 😩 my breast are currently engorged but I just know If I put her down to pump, she'll wake up 😭

@annie1994 how's your baby now? My boy has been awake and fussing for a few hours now 😬 to be expected really after all the napping today! I'd rather it now than later tbf

SamanthaVimes · 11/08/2022 20:14

@ChinChilly I think if they roll themselves there you’re fine to leave them. DD used to do that although I can’t remember how old she was when she started (it’s all a bit of a blur)

DS is feeding loads because of the heat, I had such a headache earlier and think it was a combo of tiredness and being more dehydrated than I realised because he’s sticking the life out of me 😅

Trying to convince him to go to bed now so I can get an early night. Wish me luck!

ChinChilly · 11/08/2022 20:16

@NamelessBaby1 @Lianna93 thank goodness for that, I was watching her thinking WTF?!? 😂😂 I thought she was trying to roll on her changing mat last week and I just thought nah surely not 😂 thankfully she hasn’t done it at night time yet but I did wake up the other night and she had wiggled to the other side of the next to me thingy. Need eyes in the back of my head already 🫣

ChinChilly · 11/08/2022 20:18

@SamanthaVimes ahh thats reassuring I did leave her there to sleep for a while as she looked so comfortable and I attempted to move her and she just grunted at me 😂

strawberrysummer19 · 11/08/2022 22:07

My little one turns to the right so her head is always on the right hand side, she hasn't completely rolled but she does favour the right

I checked this with my HV and she said as long as I'm putting her to bed on her back if she moves then that's fine

My first only ever slept on her front
Would scream if I placed her on her back
Hated it but by week 9 I gave in and let her sleep on her front - for years she was a front sleeper.

My Lo has also had a looooong nap and not long woke - not sure how that will affect the night but she normally has a feed around 9-10pm but she seems wide awake!

X

Having the week from hell. My partner caught covid the other day, which was bad enough as been keeping him isolated in the spare room. Then yesterday I tested positive too and I feel horrendous. So my parents are here looking after our baby downstairs while we stay out the way upstairs. Thank god for grandparents! Just hope we get over this quick as it's not ideal for anyone and really worried our baby will catch it 😢

NamelessBaby1 · 12/08/2022 09:14

Aw that's rubbish @ShellUK09 , hope you all recover soon!

@Lianna93 it's really crap not being able to do anything - wee one had been absolutely fine sleeping in cots and whatnot until yesterday, and now refuses to sleep at all unless she's being held, waking up the minute she's put down anywhere. It's really hard going, both of us nearly had a melt down last night trying to get her to settle😖

KizboBaggins · 12/08/2022 14:15

Is anyone else still feeling uncomfortable down there? I'm 3.5 weeks postpartum and it's not my stitches that are sore, but there's definitely still pressure and dull aching that comes and goes, even going down into the back of my leg. I couldn't sleep for it last night 😕 I do have piles too which I wonder if they're causing pain elsewhere. I don't know whether I should be feeling normal by now. Obviously can't get into the GP until September either 🙄

CaptainCarp · 12/08/2022 14:45

@KizboBaggins did you have a tear or a section? It was probably week 5 where most of the aching /pulling sensations disappeared. At 6.5 weeks now & feel like a "new woman" 😂 I suddenly feel like im back to my old self & able to do so much more. Still building up slowly though.

KizboBaggins · 12/08/2022 14:56

@CaptainCarp yeah I had a second degree tear so lots of stitches! That's good to hear that you're feeling back to your old self! Fingers crossed it's just standard aches and pains then, I'll give it a few more weeks and just keep an eye on it. So hard to know what's normal isn't it!

CaptainCarp · 12/08/2022 16:19

@KizboBaggins ah yes I had 3rd degree so very cautious after they warned me about possible incontinence! 😮
I did find when I started walking around / generally doing more sometimes I'd ache the next day but it just gradually got less.

Currently just my boobs aching as baby hasn't gone more than 2hrs between feeds in this heat.
They aren't always that short a feed either! I thought I longed for summer before I had a hot water bottle wanting to be onnme all the time 😂

Lianna93 · 12/08/2022 16:24

@KizboBaggins Could be your pelvic floor. I get achy down there, like a pressure that's really uncomfortable - which according to the leaflet I got sent away with about postpa aftercare for a vaginal delivery, indicates it's my pelvic floor. I've been doing the exercises as much as possible which has been helping.

@NamelessBaby1 It's absolutely brutal - I love the baby cuddles but I also want a tiny bit of freedom just to self care. My little one has let me put her down twice today so far 🤞🏻

KizboBaggins · 12/08/2022 16:56

@CaptainCarp third degree! God I feel for you, I really do. So glad you're feeling better now!

@Lianna93 I suppose it could be! I've had no issue with incontinence or anything, but I suppose that doesn't mean it's not damaged! Tbh I have not been doing the exercises so no one to blame but myself if it is! I'll start doing them tonight

Lianna93 · 12/08/2022 17:35

@KizboBaggins I was in proper agony a couple of weeks ago with that heavy pressure feeling to the point I had to take pain killers but since doing the exercises, it's been less & more manageable pain. Whenever I feel that pressure, I start squeezing & that helps :)

missv556 · 13/08/2022 06:13

@CaptainCarp my friend had a 3rd degree tear when she had her baby last year, she needed surgery after birth. And I can agree with the boob situation, I'm beginning to feel like my nips are being sucked raw. Not painful but I wish they could have a break. Especially in this heat i feel like any liquid in my body is just going straight out. Feel like an empty husk after each feed 😅

ShellUK09 · 13/08/2022 11:09

Oh great my period just arrived, covid and this all in one week 😧 I'm surprised as I had no warning signs and usually I would get a headache in the build up to a period previously. Just want to get back on the mini pill soon so this is no longer an issue!

SamanthaVimes · 13/08/2022 11:14

@ShellUK09 oh no that’s unlucky timing! Hope you feel better soon

ShellUK09 · 13/08/2022 11:27

@SamanthaVimes yep, 6 and a half weeks after the birth. Suppose it means my body is returning to normal which is good anyway but I've loved the break from periods. Thank you, willing myself to pick up soon.

KizboBaggins · 13/08/2022 14:39

@Lianna93 it may be coincidence but since you mentioned doing pelvic floor exercises yesterday I've been doing them all the time and I'm not experiencing any pain or pressure today so thank you!

CaptainCarp · 13/08/2022 19:55

@missv556 yeah I went down to theatre pretty quickly after birth. Poor baby had to wait ages for her 1st proper feed!
Yes that's exactly the feeling like im worn out & sucked dry 😂 definitely not though as there is always milk at her mouth.

We had a few more hours sleep last night as I slept downstairs with baby & it seemed to drop down in temperature a lot more.

SamanthaVimes · 14/08/2022 20:37

I woke up this morning with a blocked duct, first one I’ve had in 2 years of feeding. It bloody hurts! I think it’s clearing, I really don’t fancy mastitis/antibiotics

Lianna93 · 15/08/2022 00:00

@KizboBaggins Glad to hear that worked for you! The pain/pressure feeling is unreal - nobody tells you about the pelvic floor muscles being sore, they just tell you to do the exercises so you don't wee yourself 🙈😂

@SamanthaVimes Hope you manage to clear it soon!

Anyones babies got a rash on their chest?! 😩 My little one has had a rash for the past two weeks & my HV has asked me to monitor her & the rash over the coming week so we can determine if it's a heat/contact rash from being breastfed or if it's a dairy intolerance 😩
