@LKSF no I've not brought it forward 🙈 I am on lighter duties though. But I'm worried I'll be off for a month with no baby 🙈.

I have a meeting today to discuss my annual leave and whether I can take it all at the end of my maternity leave, if not i have way too much, so will finish asap.

So no induction for me unless I don't go naturally by 22nd April and a sweep 11th and 18th seems ages away.

DD 5th April 2023

I was convinced I'd be in Labour by the weekend yesterday was sooo tired and dodgy belly and google said Labour 24-48 hours away. But I feel fine again now 😂🙈.

I feel I'm going to be fuming with my self 2 weeks today when I could have had the C-Section.

It's all very exciting once the bags are packed, I thought I was all done then realised I'd forgot to pack clothes for me 😂🙈. So I'll add them today then I'm done.
Nurseries in progress but I have the cribs up in our room and downstairs.
Looks so cute 🥰
Pram up too.
Been washing and organising all the clothes. Have way too many 🙈 but hey we have waited long enough, I'll just change them every 2 hours x

LKSF · 14/03/2023 08:15

Oh ok well it’s good they’ve put you on lighter duties, to be honest my mat leave doesn’t start until 3rd April I just had lots old annual leave to use up so that’s why I’m finishing 3weeks before due date. Haha yeah you’ll be calling them back up demanding the c section lol
Aww that’s cute you have the cribs up, that’s the only thing left for me to do!
I found my hospital bag so hard to pack, you don’t no if you’re gonna be in 1night or 1week so it’s hard to know how many things you’ll need!! I’ve only packed 1 baggy tracksuit in for me to leave in! X

PMAmostofthetime · 14/03/2023 08:27

@LKSF
I know I wish midwives gave you a packing list, I've got 2 pairs pj's 2 nighties a ton of underwear. Phone charger, some toiletries, maternity pads, socks and slippers, paracetamol, snacks for OH 😂
I need to put clothes and a towel for me. I'm going to put 2 outfits in, just comfy ones and a warm jacket as I'm always cold.
Snacks for me we'll get on the way. I have isotonic drinks here ready.

That's my official maternity start date too- I do have a day off this week and one next week but unless they say I can't use my holidays at the end of maternity I'll be there until then or until I go into Labour.

I only done the cribs yesterday after I convinced myself that I would be in Labour soon 😂🙈
Wishful thinking or irrational 🤷🏼‍♀️ hey I'm blaming hormones.

LKSF · 14/03/2023 08:32

I’ve also been advised to take a pillow to the hospital (hospital ones are horrible and also nice to have a home comfort) and my other advice was to put some maternity pads in the freezer ready for when return from hospital! Ha well you never know….I’m thinking if our minds know we have everything up and ready, it’ll bring on the labour 😅

EmzieMurf1987 · 17/03/2023 06:47

Hi ladies how is everyone getting on?

sounds like everyone is getting prepped for their little ones to arrive 🥰 it won’t be long now I’m sure!

I packed so much I never used, but then again I never expected my labour to be so quick! I second taking your own pillow! I don’t think I even had a hospital one in delivery suite 🙈

one thing I did find invaluable was a peri bottle. It was a great way to make sure I felt nice and clean down below in those first few days/week, as it was impossible to shower more than once in a day with a newborn!

currently feeding little one in the rocking chair in the nursery 😍 he’s a beauty and can’t believe he is 3 weeks old today! Xx

LKSF · 17/03/2023 10:35

@EmzieMurf1987 Ive got a peri bottle packed in my bag so I’m glad that it will come in useful ☺️

Aww has it actually sank in yet or does it still feel surreal?

ChristmasJumpers · 17/03/2023 23:35

Baby Aurora (Rory for short) was born via elcs at 9.15am this morning. 7lbs 4oz of perfection. I love her so much!

The c section was straight forward and care after has been phenomenal. Rory's blood sugars are all good after my GD and I've been up and showered with no pain. It's like a dream 🥰 with any luck we'll be sent home tomorrow morning. DH is able to stay the night with us too which puts my mind at ease otherwise I don't think I'd sleep at all!

EmzieMurf1987 · 18/03/2023 00:10

@ChristmasJumpers cobgratulations!! 🎉🎉🎉 and such a beautiful name too 😍😍😍

Sounds like you had a really positive birth experience and I’m so happy for you and amazing DH can stop the night too. Enjoy all the newborn craziness. She will change before your eyes every day xx

LKSF · 18/03/2023 02:57

@ChristmasJumpers Aww congratulations, love the name. Glad you’re all doing well 🥰 x

Coops0406 · 18/03/2023 06:34

@ChristmasJumpers huge congratulations!!! What a gorgeous name too! 😍 Glad all has been fine! Who did your section? I'm in for a scan on Tuesday and booking mine!! 😮
How many weeks were you?

ChristmasJumpers · 18/03/2023 07:00

@ChristmasJumpers huge congratulations!!! What a gorgeous name too! 😍 Glad all has been fine! Who did your section? I'm in for a scan on Tuesday and booking mine!! 😮
How many weeks were you?

It was such a whirlwind that I couldn't even tell you anyone's name. Except a lovely UCLAN student midwife called Hannah who also came for my last midwife visit on Monday 🥰
I was 38+4, it was honestly so perfect, they really look after you. Rory is our first baby so we've had them in and out with pain relief, nappy queries and "is this a normal breathing noise?" 🤣

Sleeping on a maternity ward is a different kind of torture though. Between nappy changes and bottles, other babies crying and midwives in and out, I've had 1 hour sleep 😴 I had a random blood test at 4am too!

Coops0406 · 18/03/2023 07:32

@ChristmasJumpers that's so good to hear, I think it's cemented my decision even more for elective c-section! I'm so pleased you had a wonderful experience.
That part I'm not looking forward to though 😂 sleeping in a room with 3 other women and babies! Lol.
Are you heading home today? Congratulations again, sounds like an amazing experience for your first 🥰

ChristmasJumpers · 18/03/2023 07:45

@Coops0406 apart from some very manageable discomfort overnight and this morning (and total lack of sleep), I honestly have found it enjoyable and really smooth sailing

Coops0406 · 18/03/2023 08:08

@ChristmasJumpers that is amazing!!! Really pleased for you 🥰 hope you get to go home today too

Agapanthus13 · 18/03/2023 08:26

@ChristmasJumpers such wonderful news congratulations 🥰 beautiful name choice, and a perfect little weight 💗 Sounds like you had a wonderful experience xx hope you’re feeling jist as good today xxx

Happycroc · 18/03/2023 09:56

Congratulations @ChristmasJumpers! enjoy every moment x

PMAmostofthetime · 20/03/2023 19:01

@ChristmasJumpers congratulations, how are you both doing?

What a beautiful name too.

X

ChristmasJumpers · 20/03/2023 20:15

Thanks everyone, @PMAmostofthetime we're doing really well. We've got ourselves a sleepy baby who really only protests (loudly) to nappy and clothes changes. She's so dreamy, I think we're love drunk 😅🥰

PMAmostofthetime · 20/03/2023 23:40

@ChristmasJumpers that's so lovely, can't wait for my arrival now 🥰 x

Happycroc · 21/03/2023 17:36

Anyone else just feeling ‘done’?! I’m so done. I’m in pain all the time, my ribs/ upper abdomen is agony, exhausted, sleep is uncomfortable. Midwife said my blood pressure was a bit high yesterday (but I did have both kids with me at my appointment so that’s probably the reason) and I was seriously hoping she’d say that’s enough of a reason to induce me now!

LKSF · 21/03/2023 20:43

@Happycroc I’m starting to feel like that this week too! Getting kicked in the ribs is so uncomfortable, I’m getting rib pain in my back also! I had some reflexology today which was lovely - hoping that helps me sleep tonight!! When are you due? I lose count of everyone’s due date…I feel like we need a list 🙈

PMAmostofthetime · 21/03/2023 21:06

@Happycroc I'm done 38 weeks tomorrow- I have so much work to do though that I need to get it all done and then the second I type my last word- I want Labour to start lol 😂.

Happycroc · 28/03/2023 20:52

How’s everyone doing? Hanging in there? Any new arrivals?!

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2023 22:04

@Happycroc

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow no signs of Labour- frustrating now.

Feet swollen but other than that still waddling around.

Happycroc · 29/03/2023 06:43

37 1/2 here and so over it! Also the kids break up from school/ childcare this weekend so the next couple of days would be ideal! Here was me all hopeful that #3 would come early!
