So, what a week of misinformation and slight stress! I was told yesterday I couldn't have the prescription and didn't need to continue my blood thinners, then got a call this morning to say my prescription was ready to pick up! Then when I rang to query they finally let me speak to a consultant who explained that my risk is low and don't need to continue them, but may add them back in at 28 weeks! All this without even being seen once!
But, they told me today that my booking in appointment is tomorrow at 9am! Talk about a bit of notice!
We have a private scan booked tomorrow afternoon, should be 10 weeks and praying all is okay 🤞🏾

@EmzieMurf1987 did your first appointment at 14 weeks include the scan? I can't believe the gap between appointments, it's just not what you get used to having had ivf! Takes some adjusting to know you've not been forgotten.

Do you know when they should do the various tests?

EmzieMurf1987 · 24/09/2022 10:51

@Agapanthus13 im 16+5 now! Nearly half way 😱😱 so lovely to hear your scan went well it’s such a good feeling! We won’t be finding out either it’s way too much fun guessing and we really want a surprise. As my fibroids rather big it can affect the babies growth apparently and make me measure bigger so with have extra growth scans and it makes me higher risk of heavy bleeding after birth so will need some extra meds but that’s all I know at the moment 🤞🏼🤞🏼 It doesn’t cause too many issues!

@Coops0406 i had my consultant appointment at 14 weeks and it was over telephone so no scan I’m afraid. I’m booked back in for another appointment with the consultant at 21/22 weeks. I think I’m quite lucky as I’ve seen or spoken to someone every few weeks so far. Did u pick up your meds? Hope all is well with your scan 😘 xx

EmzieMurf1987 · 24/09/2022 11:02

I think someone was asking about scans and appointments and timelines but I can’t remember who (sorry) so I can share my timeline of appointments and what happened at each for some reference if that helps?

10 weeks - booking app. Medical hx taken, BP done, urine dipped, initial bloods taken, BMI measured.

12 weeks - NHS scan - NT measurement taken and bloods for T13, 18, 21. Did NOT hear HB at this scan.

14 weeks - consultant telephone app. To discuss induction due to IVF and my fibroid.

16 weeks - midwife app. BP taken, urine dipped, repeat blood test as one was rejected at booking app. 😩. Any questions answered. NO Doppler 😥 they don’t do it this early as difficult to find HB, however some place do do it.

16 weeks - private health scan. Yay!!! Finally heard the HB for the first time ❤️

20 weeks - NHS abnormality scan.

22 weeks - consultant telephone app.

25 weeks - midwife app. And will hear HB using Doppler at this one ❤️

EmzieMurf1987 · 24/09/2022 11:14

We had our private scan yesterday ❤️ And finally heard the HB it was amazing and got super emotional. All is looking good so far and baby appears healthy. We had the screen turned off when they checked the bottom half of baby so we couldn’t see the gender and we got a sneak peek 4D scan but the little munchkin was facing away and we only managed a side shot but better than nothing! Also found out I have an anterior placenta so I might not feel movement for a few weeks yet 😬😬

what do we think boy or girl? I’m still team boy 💙 but love hearing other peoples opinions.

@EmzieMurf1987 lovely scan pics. How come you didn't hear the heartbeat at your dating scan? I'm still battling to get my 16 week appointment changed from telephone to physical. I want them to be checking my urine!

@Coops0406 that's exactly how I feel - forgotten. It's unnerving. I know women have had babies for eons of years but it's hard to wrap my head around the lack of contact and checks.

@EmzieMurf1987 Wow! Those scan pics!!! 😍😍😍 just amazing!
Thanks for the approx schedule. I'm not allowed the prescription now, but had my booking in appointment with the midwife which was long and boring, took bloods and urine sample, have got to ring on Monday to book the 12 week scan. I think I will have an appointment on week 16 with the consultant.

We went for a private scan today though and it was amazing 😍 baby rolled over, little arm was moving and we heard the heartbeat ❤️ just so relieved and over the moon! Little scan pic below. My other half was naughty and recorded the heartbeat on my phone!

@EasterBunny7 it definitely takes some getting used to! I suppose our expectations are higher due to how on it the ivf clinics are that you almost feel like you've been forgotten about!

Hi Everyone,

So nice to find this thread.

A bit about me : 38 years old, first baby due 25th March 2023 (14+2 today), MMC end of last year, two fresh IVF rounds with fresh transfers and double FET. 3.5 years TTC.

So far all looks OK, low risk from NHS combined test but pending results from NIPT for extra reassurance.

Been flagged as low PAPP-A (0.32) so will have extra scans after 20 weeks and taking asprin daily.

Feeling very anxious given our history and had a lot of reassurance scans!

Nice to meet you all 🙂

Hi @KLC1 congratulations and welcome! I had low PAPP-A in my last pregnancy (and we suspect in my first one too but it wasn’t standard procedure to check in 2016, apparently if you have it with one you usually have it with all) mine was about the same as yours with my DC2 and I think the cut off is/ was 0.4? I’m fully expecting the same this time. Anyway, daily aspirin and I was induced at 39 weeks (although I can’t remember if that was for the PAPP-A or IVF pregnancy or another reason!) all was fine! Perfect little 6lb 9oz baby! First one was 7lb 6oz and 2 weeks overdue so that’s why we suspect I also had low PAPP-A with DC1. Anyway! Welcome! x

My journey ends here, I'm afraid. Infections got to me and my waters broke. I allowed myself to believe this is the one that will stick and I'm still grateful for however long it's lasted, it gave me great satisfaction each milestone that I did pass. I'm afraid of what the future holds for me and I'm trying not to fall apart that this little one will leave me soon enough. I'll be empty inside all over again.

I do however wish each and every one of you a successful and happy outcome to this journey. I hope your child(ren) bring you the out most joy and fulfillment.

Agapanthus13 · 30/09/2022 09:10

@JessLaw96 how are you doing? Have you recovered from Covid now?

@Coops0406 sorry to hear you’ve been so messed around with your care. Have you bus stopped your meds? I ended up contacting my ivf consultant who went through it in detail with me, the midwifes are lovely and always respond but rarely actually my concerns / questions. Last day of meds for me today. Love your scan pic 💕 have you managed to get booked in for your 12weeks?

hows everyone else getting on?

JessLaw96 · 30/09/2022 11:52

@EasterBunny7 I am so so sorry you are going through this! Please look after yourself sending all my love to you

JessLaw96 · 30/09/2022 11:54

@Agapanthus13 sorry I have been so rubbish at keeping in touch lately covid definitely took it out of me! But thankfully all recovered from that now! 🙌🏼
last couple of days though I have had a on and off headache which isn’t pleasant, I think I read some of you ladies have suffered headaches too?

how is everyone?

EmzieMurf1987 · 30/09/2022 13:55

Hey ladies!

@JessLaw96 glad to hear you are all recovered from covid! Bless you covid and pregnancy symptoms 🤮🤮 yes deffo had pregnancy related headaches! It’s to do with a increase in blood volume to prepare us for labour and to increase flow to our babies ❤️ (I think 😬😬) mine have deffo improved the further along I’ve got. They are a real pain though literally!!

I think I’ve felt movement!!?? I woke up in the night to use the bathroom and when I got back into bed I felt this rhythmic tapping just below my belly button and then this weird stretching that felt like baby turning?? Is this movement??!! I’ve had some odd tapping since and the stretching too 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I can’t wait till I can actually feel baby move from the outside so I can share it with my DH, but it will prob be a few more weeks yet especially with my anterior placenta 😥

how is everyone else? Hope all is well with everyone 😘😘

JessLaw96 · 30/09/2022 14:04

@EmzieMurf1987 ohh did you, im 12 weeks monday and this last week I have felt so much better in terms of feeling nauseous etc
how many weeks are you?
you probably have felt baby move, they say you can early on but your likely to mistaken them for other things so maybe you have! How exciting!!!

Happycroc · 30/09/2022 14:29

@JessLaw96 I'm with you on the headaches, couldn’t decide if I’ve not been drinking enough water! Must try and have more! Covid plus pregnancy must have sucked!

🙌 for the last day of meds @Agapanthus13 and for potential movements @EmzieMurf1987. I’ve never really felt much before 20 weeks in the past but certainly some people feel movements much earlier! Usually starts like bubbles or butterflies!

I'm full of scanxiety for my 12 week scan next Tuesday but I have definitely “popped” out in the last week or so. Trying to be reassured but it’s so hard.

Easterbunny7 I’m not sure if you’re still here on this thread, I’ve been thinking of you. Do we think it might be appropriate to set up a new thread so EB7 isn’t flooded with notifications? x

JessLaw96 · 30/09/2022 14:48

@Happycroc yes pregnancy and covid wasnt great but got through it 😂 i feel I have also popped the last week! Which I didnt think at 11w4d I would have a little bump going!

how exciting for your 12 week scan tuesday! I have mine a week Saturday so 8th.

also a new threat might be a good idea!

Agapanthus13 · 30/09/2022 15:05

@JessLaw96 @Happycroc @EmzieMurf1987 sorry to hear you’re all suffering with headaches, that’s sucks. Just one lovely symptom after another isn’t it!! I didn’t realise they were a thing tbh. I’m still being sick daily, but generally once or twice rather than 5 or 6 so def improving here too!

@Happycroc @JessLaw96 thats exciting fir your scans coming up 🙌 have you had any since your 6week ivf scans? And so glad to hear you’re feeling better from the Covid jesslaw

Has anyone else had the harmony test? I had an email this afternoon to say my blood test failed to supply a result. I’m going to go back and try again next week but I stupidly Googled it which never gives good news, we were planning to tell my parents this weekend but am now stressing and wondering if we should hold off?

thatismahogany · 30/09/2022 15:48

Hi everyone, need to catch up on the last few messages so may post again but just wanted to get this out there.

Has anyone experienced a significant amount of pain due their uterus expanding? My midwife thinks it's these growing pains but I am surprised how bad they are! It's a constant low levels soreness/pain in my lower abdomen, groin and hips and back since Weds night. I have noticed it will sometimes flare up and be quite sharp whether I'm moving or lying down, but the background pain always remains. Sometimes it fades a lot when I sit still but it is always there when I lie down.

The pain is significant enough that every time I use the loo I look for blood (as if I wasn't already) as I thought it could be a miscarriage. But midwife found the heartbeat yesterday with the doppler machine and said she could feel the uterus moving up as it should. Weirdly at times I can feel a small bulge in the lower right abdomen that comes and goes so not sure if this is the fundus?

Have also had a urine sample sent in case it's a UTI with atypical symptoms and the GP examined my abdomen and can't feel anything worrying. But I really struggled at work last night and will probably have to call in sick if it continues. Sorry to be dramatic! But I haven't slept much and I'm hoping (actually I wouldn't inflict this on anyone) that someone has had similar experiences?
