@Cakecakecheese Congratulations! Lovely news ☺️ Take it easy now and hopefully you'll soon be feeling more yourself xx

PopGoesBang · 28/07/2022 16:44

@Cakecakecheese congratulations! Glad he's here and ok. Hope you are soon feeling more 'normal'. Enjoy those snuggles and take care of yourself.

Exciting times!

@Beth262 I believe the old cervix is encouraged to do as it should with the pregnancy ball too. Possibly just by encouraging baby to get in a really good position. But certainly worth trying.

I'm currently 3cm dilated, 3rd sweep tomorrow so will be interesting to see what's happening then.

@mamaof2girls baby is doing good! You hopefully won't be waiting too long.

mamaof2girls · 28/07/2022 16:47

@PopGoesBang oh fingers crossed that you will be soon yourself. Well tbh I have never been this far engaged before with my other 2 that I remember off anyway. With my 2nd the day before I had her I was 4/5 engaged apparently so hopefully I won't be to much longer but at least another week or so as am only 36 weeks tomorrow! X

miltonj · 28/07/2022 17:03

@Cakecakecheese yayyy! Congrats 🥳 and well done xx

KCat82 · 28/07/2022 17:25

@Cakecakecheese Congratulations! Exciting news. Hope you're feeling better soon and hope you're enjoying lots of cuddles.

PopGoesBang · 28/07/2022 17:34

@mamaof2girls it's funny how even with previous pregnancies and births there can still be firsts!
I was induced with dd at 40+1 so no idea what natural contractions feel like - so everything is a guessing game right now. I'm definitely getting tightenings but there is no pattern to them and they fade away.
Sweep again tomorrow, and then I'm in for induction on Sunday anyways, I'll be 39 weeks.
Fingers crossed baby stays out for a bit longer, but certainly sounds like it won't be too long a wait!

Beth262 · 28/07/2022 18:02

@PopGoesBang Thanks for that. Shall be hot footing it to Home Bargains for one and get bouncing! x

@Cakecakecheese yay. Congrats on your little boy. Exciting to see the babies arriving.

That makes three confirmed babies so far unless I've missed one.

@Cakecakecheese big congratulations on your baby boy 😊 lovely news and I hope you feel better very soon! Xx

Passthetena · 29/07/2022 15:23

Congratulations @Cakecakecheese

So the first 2 weeks of mat leave have been a total bust for me, was going to spend one week just chilling out and having some me time and then start doing final prep but toddler has been off nursery the whole time thanks to the pox! Also had a consultant appointment this week and was given the green light to start sweeps at 39 weeks instead of the usual after 40 only, yay! However I was also in for my second lot of reduced movements this week so I'm wondering if I'll even get to 39 weeks let alone further. 35 and half weeks currently so aiming to get to 37 minimum!

CoalCraft · 29/07/2022 16:42

@Passthetena Oh no, sorry about the toddler's pox. I'm about to start my mat leave from Monday and I just admit I really feel like I need a little me time. I'd be gutted in your position!

Last time I had some time off I got a stomach bug 🤦

Passthetena · 29/07/2022 17:27

@CoalCraft it's always the way isn't it! Good luck for your maternity, hope you get some needed rest!

Unsure1010 · 29/07/2022 19:33

congratulations @Cakecakecheese . Hope you are feeling better.

So, growth scan today at exactly 36 weeks and baby is measuring 7lbs 3 😱😱😱 Still within ‘normal’ range, just right at the top end…. Sonographer asked when I’m seeing the consultant again, which of course there’s nothing booked in. I’m to speak to the midwife next week to get something booked in.

Does this mean that they may suggest getting baby out earlier? Does anyone have any experience? I know the scan measurements aren’t always accurate, but just curious, given how determined the sonographer was that I see a consultant.

madeleine85 · 29/07/2022 21:12

Lovely news on everyones scans and mat leave starting :).

I went for my weekly growth measurements at 35+3 (i'll caveat that the sonographer couldn't get a good angle on his belly so these could be wildly inaccurate) but they thought he suddently might be at 7% after a month of 3%?! I think he went to 4lbs 12oz on the screen, last week was 3lbs 14oz. Again, could be very very wrong as there is always a margin of error. Either way, we were told we get a one week reprieve. Next week will be the final measurement at 36+3 and we were told to definitely bring a hospital bag, as the amniotic fluid is under 4cm now, and should be 15+ so at somepoint between next Friday and Tuesday the little guy is coming out. It is still likely that there will be some NICU time, but every day he is in cooking longer is potentially less time there, and i'll take it with open arms. The sonographer also said she could see him practicing breathing on the scan which was throwing off her measurements, but to me, the fact he is doing that just makes me so happy. One more week of limited exercise, staying indoors out of the heat, sleeping, and eating all things protein. My toddler also said this morning "Mama is going to the hospital today, they are going to cut her open so I can meet the baby" so I was worried she had some weird creepy premonition, I was utterly taken back by the news when the doctor told us, it has been a minute since we've heard anything positive!

Mufflette · 30/07/2022 07:48

Great news @madeleine85 even allowing for error some of that growth has to be there, the rest and protein is obviously working for him! Hope you can relax a bit and enjoy the last week before you meet him.

mamaof2girls · 30/07/2022 14:31

How's everyone feeling this weekend last few days for some little baby's to sneak into July birthdays! But not long till all our due date month!!!! X

madeleine85 · 30/07/2022 15:02

Thanks @Mufflette im incredibly relieved though I think it’s hitting home finally that this time next week there could be a baby. My husband has gone a bit overprotective due to the fluid being in the bad zone, and is saying no workouts, or going outside in the la heat, so I’m trying to take the dog out for a mini walk at 7am to not lose my mind, but he doesn’t want to get up 😂😂. Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend, can’t believe august is here so soon. Wonder how many will arrive over the weekend!

Beth262 · 30/07/2022 15:12

@madeleine85 that's great you seem to have a weeks reprieve. The more cooking on the inside the better. I'm the opposite to you in that he's gone down from 10th to 3rd but they don't seem concerned. Me on the other hand...! My stomach doesn't seem to be growing at all last 2/3 weeks considering this is when they're supposed to be putting on most weight 😕

@mamaof2girls I feel fed up! So exhausted, turning over in bed multiple times a night is like a military operation and my feet are so swollen they only fit in one pair of birkenstock type shoes that have been wonderful in the rain today. Other than that I'm great 🤪 Said to DP I feel so tired today that if anything happened tonight I genuinely don't think I'd have the energy to labour 😭 Doesn't help that DS1 seems to have forgotten how to sleep through the night 🤦‍♀️ How are you feeling?

mamaof2girls · 30/07/2022 15:31

@Beth262 with my 2nd by belly didn't grow after 34 weeks. At 38 weeks I was still only measuring 34 and they wanted me to get a growth scan but I didn't make the scan as ended up having her the next day but when I was mention that this pregnancy they said she could have been that far down that it can kinda cause the measurement to be off. I am the same trying to do house work etc is such a effort now a days it's the sweats I can't deal with last night it was so bad just tried to have a nap with the kids there and I woke up way before them with sweats! X
