Anyone else feel extremely hot and sweaty I mean I feel like iam going through menopause 🙈 oh and the heartburn is back in full force it actually woke me up again last night it's all worth it for the end result is all I keep saying to myself 😂 xx

Mum2two2022 · 03/08/2022 13:20

@awwbiscuits what was your experience first time round!?

My first labour was really straight forward and fast, I would love a home birth but my house isn't that big and the only place the pool could go is the living room with carpet 😩😩 just don't know what to do!???

It was great, and hopefully this time will be better!! I'm under the home birth team as they have a dedicated one in my new area.

It's not as messy as you think. I've ordered a mini birth pool in a box - you can find the measurements online I'm sure :) most come with a ground sheet but I was also advised to buy cheap shower curtains for extra cover just in case :) you can also have puppy pads as well to soak stuff up.

Mini moan here, but after discussing the fact that I would need a C section for weeks with my doctor due to the baby being very small and breach, and she wouldn't allow it to be scheduled "in case he turned". We are now less than one week out from the point the specialist won't allow us to go past, and we don't have a scheduled C section date, because there are no theater slots available on the days/times we need, now the doctor has finally decided to agree with the rest of us. I know it's going to be fine and we will work it out, but it's very frustrating! I just need one thing to go as planned... just one! Anyway, hope you are all doing well. At 36+1, my back hurts to buggery and I can't sleep well, I have a 10% growth baby so I cannot imagine how those at 42 weeks with full size ones feel, I should just be grateful for my lot tbh! Is everyone getting packed/ready, can't believe that we are all coming up to the last month/two and the babies are arriving already x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 03/08/2022 17:15

@madeleine85 so sorry you have had to go through all that I do hope that someone has put a rocket up their bum to get things sorted!!! I was quite lucky all my plan got approved very early and quickly I was quite shocked. I have not packed at all I just need to pick up baby milk and snacks for it.. crib and pram are being brought over from my brothers next weekend he stored it there for me.. it's mental how far we have all come and it's nearly over 🥺 xx

110APiccadilly · 03/08/2022 21:27

@madeleine85 that's not good. Don't know why they couldn't have scheduled you and just used the slot for an EMCS if you hadn't needed it. At the end of the day they'll surely have to fit you in though if your consultant doesn't want you going past 37 weeks. I'm guessing some other poor person who doesn't have urgent medical need will get bumped down the list - pretty sure that's what would happen in the UK, anyway!

Butterflytulip · 04/08/2022 08:36

@madeleine85 my advice is to keep phoning them and demanding what you want. Your prime concern is Jewish your baby safe and if your section is definitely at 37 weeks then they need to give you a slot! You'll need a pre op appt too where they go through everything and do Covid swab, usually day before the section.
Also they may need to arrange for the NICU team and space if your little one needs a little assistance once born.
Keep badgering them!!

Butterflytulip · 04/08/2022 08:38

@madeleine85 my little
One is on the 20th percentile and my bump is small!! I can't imagine how I'd feel being huge with the good weather the UK is getting!!! Hope it cools
Down for sept as I get all stressed with baby and sleeping and how to dress them in the heat!

handbagsandholidays · 04/08/2022 09:01

Hello all,

I was rushed to theatre this morning and delivered my little one at 5:10am via EMCS. He weighs 4lbs exactly and doing as well as he can be given that he is only 32+1 x

Butterflytulip · 04/08/2022 09:36

Oh my gosh @handbagsandholidays what happened?
Congratulations!! 4lbs is a good weight and I'm sure he will thrive now he is out in the big world. Sending love and hope you are ok, must have been a big shock!

Butterflytulip · 04/08/2022 09:37

I'm 35 weeks today!! Just took my bump pic as I do every couple of weeks ❤️ 4 weeks to go!!!

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 04/08/2022 10:34

Sounds very scary @handbagsandholidays. Thinking of you and baby 💕

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 04/08/2022 10:37

I've woke up in a vile mood, I haven't slept much due to getting up a million times with my bladder. We are on holiday so DH is on holiday mode where he has stopped being helpful. I've got up with DD and have been a lousy mum because I'm too exhausted to do anything.

I've had words with DH and he said he will be more helpful. I'm still tearful because I'm hungry and don't fancy the GD friendly breakfast I have available. I am so over pregnancy today.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 04/08/2022 11:57

@handbagsandholidays congratulations lovely I am sure it was extremely scary hope you and baby are ok!!! 4lb is a good weight hun my first son was born at 38 weeks weighing 4lb 7oz so no how dinky and fragile they look lots of prem clothes and nappies for a little while but he is now 11 and nearly bigger than me xx

Redapple21 · 04/08/2022 12:03

Awww congratulations @handbagsandholidays you've had such a worrying journey, so glad the little one is here safely. Get plenty of rest if you can and keep us updated. Sending love xx

Goodgoodthings · 04/08/2022 12:42

@handbagsandholidays congratulations, though that sounds like it must have been scary to go through I'm glad to hear you're both doing okay all things considered. I hope you and baby are surrounded by lots of love and support ♥️

HaresHoping · 04/08/2022 13:41

Congratulations @handbagsandholidays ❤️ I hope you're doing as well as you can be after such a shock. Sending lots of love, your little one sounds like a smasher 😍

Anyone else having weekly day cares? I've just come home from my second and didn't realise it was going to be a weekly deal now untill delivery. 😭

110APiccadilly · 04/08/2022 15:55

Congratulations @handbagsandholidays !

madeleine85 · 04/08/2022 16:11

@handbagsandholidays oh my word. Congratulations!!! Glad your little one is here and doing well despite being so little. ❤️

Still no call back with an theater slot, despite multiple chasers. I think they’re hoping someone cancels. I’ve also woken up with a massive thrush infection, or a lot of weird grayish discharge (sorry tmi), but nothing like my mucus plug last time, so now I’m worried. I’ll give it a few hours then call again. So close to the end, could do without a disaster now 😂. Hope you’re all holding up, thanks for the messages!

annlee3817 · 04/08/2022 16:32

@handbagsandholidays congratulations, hope you and the baby are all ok! Xx

awwbiscuits · 04/08/2022 17:53

@handbagsandholidays congratulations! That must have been very scary xxx

awwbiscuits · 04/08/2022 17:56

I'm also in the no-sleep club. Up a million times a night for a wee, aching hips, sweating, or my eyes pinging open for no reason. Rather annoying.

LaddieCthulu · 04/08/2022 18:07

I am weeing every hour or more.... Apparently there is no UTI now (I have had several in the last 6 months), but I am at least once a day getting excruciating pain when I relax my muscles to urinate, which seems to be when I have not urinated for a couple of hours. The pain is in my low abdomen though.

Any ideas what that's about? Am I just internally sensitive and my baby's healthy sized cranium is crushing my precious bladder?

awwbiscuits · 04/08/2022 18:37

@LaddieCthulu entirely possible that it's baby's head squashing everything. I didn't have this with dd as she was quite high up. This baby seems to be extremely low all the time, I can physically feel his head moving against my bladder and it's just awful!

madeleine85 · 04/08/2022 19:24

I finally got my date!!! Yessssss. Monday at 930am, but showing up at 730am at hospital for check in/tests which honestly is perfect. Ok, now just to hold this child in for 4 days. Thrush seems to have gone away as quickly as it started, if that is even what it was, and i've felt kicks, so now we just have to wait it out a few more days :). One more non stress test/measurement scan tomorrow then we're on the home stretch. Hoping that all the new mums and babies are doing well, though very glad we're all in the 32+ week zone now so a little safer for all x
