Hi ladies! Due 15th September with baby no 2 but a boy this time round! Super excited love these threads!

awwbiscuits · 26/07/2022 16:03

@Sweetbabydust1989 if it makes you feel any more optimistic, my sil had an emergency c section and hysterectomy at the same time because of the damage done and she still was driving at 3-4 weeks so may not be as bad as you think xx

Mum2two2022 · 26/07/2022 18:13

@Sweetbabydust1989 Congratulations I bet your so excited for a little girl! I am super happy just nervous about the whole different experience! Xx

Em85kk · 26/07/2022 18:13

Hi guys, my little girl has just started with chicken pox 😩 not sure if I’ve had it, so thanks to a little search of the group on Facebook I called up and they’re going to test my booking blood for immunity. Fingers crossed! She’s just got a few on her back so far but her temp was pretty high.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 26/07/2022 18:16

@Mum2two2022 oh it's great nappy change is different with boys they seem to love using their man hood as a sprinkler so be careful 😂 erm I wasn't too fussed of gender at all I had 2 ectopics last year so all I wanted was a healthy baby and baby being a girl was just a bonus for us xx

Mum2two2022 · 26/07/2022 18:18

@Sweetbabydust1989 I've heard the stories going to be an experience! Oh no bless you so glad you got your baby! How many weeks do you have left? Xx

madeleine85 · 26/07/2022 18:23

im going to ask my friend who just had one recently, but no way I can’t drive for 6 weeks. I’ll be lucky if my husband takes a week off after the c section, his mum might come down for a week to help. And will probably be going back to the hospital multiple times a day if the baby is Wonder if cars in the us being automatic mainly makes driving easier? I’m hoping so as I was hoping for 1-2 weeks in my eternal optimism!

Yes automatic definitely would make it easier!

Butterflytulip · 26/07/2022 20:10

The driving is something to do with being medically fit to do an emergency stop. Best check with your insurer as every insurer will be different. I personally won't try until at least 5-6 weeks.

110APiccadilly · 26/07/2022 20:51

I asked DH (he does car insurance in this house because it's a job I hate) to look at ours re C-sections, but I don't think he's done it yet. We're not too badly off if I can't drive as no school or nursery runs and DH does earlies (and isn't FT - we share work and childcare) so will be around in the afternoons. But it'll be awkward - and it means if the new baby has any appointments (DD's newborn hearing test was in an apparently randomly chosen community health centre 15 miles away, for instance) then we'll have to all go rather than me taking baby and leaving DD with DH.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 27/07/2022 11:23

What do braxton hicks feel like it's been 9 years since I was last period I am not sure if I am having braxton hicks xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 27/07/2022 11:36

Just read that 9 years since I was last pregnant oh my baby brain and tired eyes 😂😂 xx

Butterflytulip · 27/07/2022 16:20

The driving thing is so stressful especially when we have little kids that need lifts to
Nursery or school. I'm lucky my partner will drop our daughter early before work. I dread the meltdowns as she realises the baby gets to stay home with me !!! My little girl is only 2.
Iv a scan in a few hours. Hoping this baba has grown since the last check up!!

Hope everyone doing ok and hanging in there xx

madeleine85 · 27/07/2022 17:48

@Butterflytulip good luck for your scan, please let us know how it goes!

More uncertainty here after my consultant chat yesterday, maximum i'll be allowed to go for is till August 9 now, so 37 weeks, but amniotic fluid is very low so waiting to see the specialist on Friday. It is weird that they just seem to hand the responsibility for setting the date for eviction off to each other, so I'm clueless when this baby is coming, making setting childcare for my toddler impossible. Where I am, if you have a planned C section, you go in at 530am and they do it at 730am, so we need to get grandma down on a flight or have a friend stay the night to take her to daycare in the morning. Fortunately we have some lovely friends who have offered to help, but I'm just still overwhelmed in the land of unknown! On the upside, the backup younger doctor yesterday was much more agreeable to a C section, and even offered to throw a coil in there at the same time if she can get it in time! I'll consider that a win :)

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 27/07/2022 18:27

Is anyone else finding general day to day things harder to do? I've just cleaned the bathroom and it's nearly finished me off! It's frustrating because I have the urge to clean and organise everything!

Butterflytulip · 27/07/2022 19:18

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher omg this is me!!! I have to clean and tidy cause I'm a clean freak and yep it's getting so much harder!! I find doing a light clean twice a week is better than a deep clean every couple weeks lol

@madeleine85 my little one is on the 20th percentile . 4lb 5oz approx at 33w 6d.
The midwives were happy with that and this little one will be small just like my first born! We are probably looking at a baby under 6lb at birth! Maybe should get a couple of tiny babygrows!

awwbiscuits · 27/07/2022 19:35

Had my 34 week apt today. Really pleased with everything, baby head down, heard heartbeat, they're happily accepting me in to the home birth team, no GD, no problems with blood results (last time I had high platelets) and quick discussion of my last birth. 36 weeks they come to my house, have a look around and discuss where to put the pool, they can meet my dd (they were more than happy for her to be there) and meet dh too! Plus they do a little handheld scan as well so dd will be able to see her brother!
