@Sabiina welcome :)

@LaddieCthulu hope they get their systems sorted!

@awwbiscuits same here on the hiccuping front, am using it as a casual guide to her position, when I feel them at the top I'm guessing she's back to breach again lol

Butterflytulip · 25/07/2022 20:22

Hi @Sabiina congrats :)
@LaddieCthulu that's crap
But hope

Butterflytulip · 25/07/2022 20:26

Hopefully you'll get through before the appt actually comes round!!

Snap @awwbiscuits sleeping for me is so odd cause I swear I can feel like I'm lying on baby whether I go to left or right!!! My
Bump Has grown too!! Lathering in body butter morning and night!!

Whooop @Carebear99 great to hear!! It's so exciting now we are on the countdown!! Al
Good here, just the usual aches and pains!!

@HaresHoping I hear that is a nightmare feeling, knew someone who had to have their baby couple weeks early as it got so debilitating. I hope you can hold on. I'm so with you with the bed nightmare! I over did it at the weekend too. That's the end of my shopping sprees! Just need some cheap
Primary slippers for hospital. The last time the toilets were so gross I chucked out my slippers!!!

110APiccadilly · 25/07/2022 21:21

I had a slightly disappointing growth scan today - baby hadn't grown much in the last two weeks, so I'm now on two scans a week to check the cord blood flow and stuff - which all looks ok at the moment but they want to keep a close eye.

There was a moment when I thought I was heading for the dubious honour of being the first person on this thread to have my baby arrive, but in the end the consultant said he'd rather wait all the while the cord blood and amniotic fluid is looking ok.

This could be the spur DH and I need to finally decide on a name though! Or rather 2 as we don't know whether it's a boy or a girl yet.

Butterflytulip · 25/07/2022 21:24

Aww no @110APiccadilly sorry to hear that. Although sounds like baby is doing ok in there. What weight is little one now? Hugs xx

awwbiscuits · 25/07/2022 21:32

Yes! @Butterflytulip like if I flip from one side to the other, which I have to do because my hips hurt if I lay on one side too long, I can feel it's uncomfortable on one side - I assume it's because he's been laying there!

Sabiina · 25/07/2022 21:36

@Butterflytulip @annlee3817
thank you both 😌

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 25/07/2022 23:28

I struggle to get comfortable at night too. Because I have the pregnancy pillow between my knees I have to untangle myself from it when I turn over. Unless, I'm using the pregnancy pillow incorrectly?

I saw the diabetic midwife today who is pleased at how I'm controlling the diabetes. Then tonight, I have a ridiculous high reading after dinner. Typical!

My bladder problems are still very much there. I'm convinced I have a prolapse, the hospital are finally taking me seriously after I complained to PALS. I have an appointment with a specialist team on Thursday.

I'm having a mild panic about not being ready for this baby. Trying not to bite DH's head off when he has put off getting the car seat out the loft...again!

madeleine85 · 26/07/2022 04:25

@110APiccadilly it’s really upsetting when they stagnate isn’t it? I’ve spent the last 2 weeks expecting growth/willing it. But then it’s kinda crushing to hear 2% or whatever. How big is yours now/what gestation are you? Do you have a name shortlist at least? Love that it’s a surprise if girl or boy ❤️.

@Sabiina welcome!

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher hopefully he’s got the seat down for you now! Mine is still at my in laws 8 hours of a drive away. They’re coming our way in a week or so though. So just got to get it without offending our extended family by not seeing them all. Parents in law planned a massive family trip a year ago conveniently beside us, and now because of the complications and monitoring appointments, and Covid going crazy we can’t go. Because we’re expecting to go to the nicu we’re having to be very careful. The guidance where I am says if either parent catches Covid we can’t visit the baby for 10 days. So we’re basically on lockdown as it’s rampant here just now! Hopefully things at home with Covid are nowhere near this bad. My doctor also managed to test positive on Friday🤦‍♀️.

110APiccadilly · 26/07/2022 08:26

Thanks @Butterflytulip and @madeleine85 . I'm 33+6 today so not long to go to 37 really, baby just has to be ok for a few weeks now. Estimated current weight is just under 1.5 kg, which was only about 150g more than the last one a couple of weeks ago, so not good growth. Mind you, DD was born at 38 weeks weighing pretty much 2kg precisely so it doesn't look like this one's doing any worse than her. (It wasn't picked up with her that she was small so I don't know what her growth was like at this point.)

We do have a tentative girl's name and a second name for a boy (family name which we like but wouldn't use as a first name) but really struggling to get a first name for a boy which we like and which goes well with the second name.

I was half expecting we'd find out whether baby's a boy or a girl by accident at some point, given the number of scans, but the sonographers have been really good at not giving it away - though it's odd because they obviously know by now! I was told to shut my eyes at some points in yesterday's scan!

MummyToBe2022 · 26/07/2022 08:37

@110APiccadilly we have been the same with having so many scans, the sonographers have been amazing at not telling us.
I'm sure baby will be fine and can totally understand your worries.
Positive news about the cord looking good though.
All the best

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 26/07/2022 09:01

@madeleine85 the covid guidelines sound really draconian! 10 days! I would be living in a bubble until the baby arrives.

Sabiina · 26/07/2022 10:43

Good late morning 😌
So I moved to London just over a year ago, not got family or many friends in this area. Has anyone got any tips on where to go where you can find other mom friends etc? 🙈
I feel like it might get pretty lonely otherwise.

Have a lovely day x

GlitteryGreen · 26/07/2022 11:05

Oh my gosh, I am so with everyone who is uncomfortable in bed!!

I don't have trouble getting to sleep but it's the rolling over and getting up for me. I am SO stiff after laying down for a few hours, and have loads of pain in my hips and pelvis for the first few steps, then luckily it goes.

I think there is an app called Peanut which links you up with other mums? Sort of like Tinder. One of my friends made a good friend that way :)

Butterflytulip · 26/07/2022 11:33

@GlitteryGreen it's bloody awful isn't it!! I had a calf cramp too!! Was nearly in tears! I actually fear sleeping and waking with cramps !!! Roll on the next 5 weeks !!!!

awwbiscuits · 26/07/2022 12:58

Whereabouts in london @Sabiina ?

Belle2210 · 26/07/2022 13:13

Haven't been on for a good while so just been catching up. Can't believe how quick everything is coming round. Husband is finally back but we're now onto our 3rd Joiner and not one room is finished still. Stressing me out majorly as the house is just an absolute tip and I've nowhere really to properly set up a baby area. That's all I want to do too! To top it off baby is looking to be here in about 2 weeks time at 36 weeks. I've always been told that I've had a low lying placenta. Still hasn't moved and it's covering my entire cervix so I'm now classed as high risk. @handbagsandholidays I see you have vasa previa. Really feel for you as its worrrying enough with placenta previa. Hope you haven't had too many bleeds. I've not had so far but makes me anxious waiting to see if I will before eviction day

Anyone have any c section advise to pass on?

Sabiina · 26/07/2022 14:23

@GlitteryGreen ahh yes I have that one, but thank you ☺️
@awwbiscuits I'm in Leyton. East London. X

Butterflytulip · 26/07/2022 14:34

@Belle2210 I had a c section with
my 1st and this time iv an elective c section planned.
I had dissolvable stitches which heal better.
Might be worth asking which stitchers your trust use. The staple ones need taken out by nurse who comes to your home I think 10 days after you get home.
Recovery wise was fine. I took painkillers just in hospital. It looked awful for first few months but now I can't even see it and my stomach did flatten in time.
All in all it was a fab experience and I am doing it again! The least stress on the baby especially when there's complications or potential complications.

Butterflytulip · 26/07/2022 14:35

I have a 34 week scan tomorrow. Hooking there has been growth!!
I bought some newborn bits this morning and little socks! Even though I already have a stash from my first born I just had to buy some new stuff!!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 26/07/2022 15:34

So birth plan being done on Thursday I am really not sure on the whole c section I am worried about recovery and the fact my partner can only take 2 weeks off work he is self employed 🥺 I am more worried that I won't be able to drive for weeks after and my sons school is a 20 min drive or 3 buses away. Any advice would be great!! Xx

Yes it's soooo crap. I wake up in the night for a wee and think 'urgh, here we go...'

I asked the midwife about it and she told me it could be where the baby is resting on my nerves when I'm laying down so she advised sitting up for a few minutes before getting out of bed, as well as keeping legs together and turning my whole body to get out, instead of putting one foot on the floor and stretching to get out that way, as that helps with the pain around the pelvis.

It did seem to help a little bit this morning so I'm hoping that will continue.

GlitteryGreen · 26/07/2022 15:42

@Sweetbabydust1989 I have never done it myself so don't take my word 100%, but I think that the not driving for 6 weeks is a recommendation and you can drive sooner than that if you feel able? I'm pretty sure my friend who had one was driving after 3/4 weeks.

But obviously depends on you feeling able.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 26/07/2022 15:45

@GlitteryGreen thanks lovely I honestly don't no what to do now wouldn't bother me if my sons school was closer but it's a pain with the buses and newborn etc I also wasn't sure with insurance etc xx
