@strawberrysummer19 wow it all feels so real now! Definitely get the bag packed so that is one less thing to think about. Got my 31 week midwife appt tomorrow, which has come around so quick as well!

ChinChilly · 17/05/2022 14:43

Had my 31 week appointment today.. fundal height was just above the 10th centile last tims and now its dead on the 10th centile line, midwife called the day assessment unit incase they wanted to see me but because I'm not below it they didn't need to see me. I know it's not always accurate but did worry me abit she said just keep an extra eye on movements, currently beating me up from the inside so she's definitely ok at the moment

strawberrysummer19 · 17/05/2022 14:51

I didn't get measured today but I did on my last and was on 97th! So I'm having growth scans but I've been told she's on the large side ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Also my blood pressure was low
It normally is but today was 90-54 so that's a bit low for me

X

Danani · 17/05/2022 16:02

Awww @ChinChilly that would stress me out as well! But it's lovely you have a little wriggler, so hopefully no issue with movements! And you never know, maybe the baby has a growth spurt in the coming few weeks and goes firmly above the 10 centile! :)

@strawberrysummer19 oh wow, you have a little chunky bubbs! TBH, is that accurate though? I've read a few people were told they're in the high 90s percentiles, only to have a perfectly average-sized baby! Based on everything read here not sure if the measurements and/or scans can be taken as 100% true?

My baby has been measuring bang on the 50th percentile at every appointment from the 20-week scan onwards...I kinda hope she continues that way...Anyone whose little one is measuring bigger/smaller - has this always been the case for you, or did it jump up/down from one appointment to the next?

Also re purchases, we got most of the things now and her little room is ready which is making everything feel so so real and exciting! The only things we haven't gotten yet really are clothes and feeding supplies. I guess I'm holding off the clothes for a bit longer to try to figure out if i need to buy all the sizes (based on how she measures?)?

On feeding - I got the usual (formula just in case), bottles, nipple shields, I need to get some type of bottle sterilizer situation. And I'm unsure whether to get a pump and a formula prep machine in advance? Any thoughts?

strawberrysummer19 · 17/05/2022 16:07

@Danani hmm not sure, she was measuring spot on all the way until my 28wk app where fundal measurement put her on 97th centile
growth scans showed a bigger head than her body! But they said all healthy just measuring on the 'bigger side' When my midwife was feeling today she said I have a ' good size baby there '
I feel big, my bumps bug and her movements are quite hard and I'm feeling limbs but who knows ? I've read they aren't accurate

I have a prep machine

I'm buying newborn but very little
Can always grab clothes and nappies when she is here

My first was 9lb and went straight into 0-3 and the newborn was always so small and didn't fit her feet in the foot part so ended up cutting them all off! It was summer so I just made use out of them
As for clothes I'm buying more 0-3 and only got one pack of size 1 nappies

If she's small I can always get fiancรฉ to pop to shops

Just trying not to over do it purchase wise
X

annie1994 · 17/05/2022 16:13

@Danani I ended up formula feeding my DS1 and we got a prep machine and it was really helpful and quick.

I started BF and then around 2 weeks later I quit and we ordered a prep machine from Amazon and it came the next day so you can always hold off if youโ€™re not definitely set on FF and do that if needed!

CaptainCarp · 17/05/2022 16:47

@KizboBaggins I've never been glamping myself but had a few friends who have done it & said its more hotel than camping so hopefully you'll be OK!

I'm lucky that DP is sharing a room with DSC & I've got a bed to myself as with my pregnancy pillow DP would struggle to fit on the bed ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Danani for me at 20 weeks baby was on 9th centile. 27wks was between 10th-50th (marked as just below 50th on my growth chart) then 31wks was just above the 50th centile.
Although when do the stomach measurement the sonographer said "well that's my best guess!" as baby refused to straighten out at all ๐Ÿ˜‚ so make of that what you will.
I have another scan next week so we willl see if they hold steady or not.
I kind of wish they'd do my fundal height so I could compare where that would put me & where the scans do.

It's quite scary to think baby could be here in 4 weeks & will be classed as term!
I've got a few newborn items & think I'll be gifted odd bits from my brother as his last baby wasn't in them for long.

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 17/05/2022 17:57

Hi everyone been a while since I last posted. Hope youโ€™re all ok.. Iโ€™m still working on my feet all day ๐Ÿฅฑ my maternity leave starts at 38 weeks so still got a while to go! 32+4 today. Been catching up with all the messages and seem to be in a similar position! My fundal height at 27 weeks put baby just under the 90th centile had growth scan at 28+5 which put baby just under the 50th centile then had my fundal height measured at 31 weeks which put baby over the 90th centile ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ I have another growth scan tomorrow at 32+5 so will see where baby is put then lol x

KizboBaggins · 17/05/2022 17:59

@ChinChilly if it helps ease your mind here's a pic of my 28wk fundal height (24cm) and then subsequent estimated weight by scan... so my bump was off the charts small, but baby was measuring above 50th centile on the scan! Just goes to show how inaccurate it can all be as @Danani said!

@CaptainCarp how nice to get your own bed! I might buy a pregnancy pillow and start slowly edging DH out of the bed... Judging by the pics of the place we're glamping it's deffo just a bit of wood that I'm gonna be sleeping on haha. This is what happens when you try and book a "cheap" bank holiday getaway in the bloody Lake District... costs a fortune even for the less glamorous places!

My scans never give me that detail. I just get a "it's measuring grand" and that's it ๐Ÿ˜… although it sounds confusing so I'm happy

missv556 · 17/05/2022 19:04

I measured in the 97th percentile at 20 weeks and again at 29 weeks so it's been consistent growth. I also have a growth chart from that scan

ChinChilly · 17/05/2022 20:05

@Danani @KizboBaggins thanks both, we'll see what happens at my next appointment.

OH has just tested positive for COVID I'm negative at the moment, i know we've spoken about this a few times but do I need to tell the midwife if I test positive

NamelessBaby1 · 17/05/2022 20:09

@ChinChilly yes it would be best to - my midwife had said at my first appointment to let her know if I ever did. Fingers crossed you avoid it though!

I have my next appointment tomorrow so will find out if growth is consistent or not - I feel like my bump has gotten pretty big in the past few weeks !

ChinChilly · 17/05/2022 20:12

@NamelessBaby1 I saw her earlier on today aswell ๐Ÿ™„ obviously before he tested positive. I'll give her a ring in the morning. I'm so bloody sick of covid now ๐Ÿ˜’

NamelessBaby1 · 17/05/2022 22:02

Ugh I know, and working from home means I kind of forget about it now so I'm probably not being as careful as I should as I really don't want to get it twice while pregnant!

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 18/05/2022 00:51

@ChinChilly you really might avoid it! I somehow didnโ€™t catch it (or else
was 100% asymptomatic and not showing on rapid tests) when my DH got it. I was so sure I would catch it but somehow dodged it! Fingers crossed for you. X

ChinChilly · 18/05/2022 07:51

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK hopefully, I am vaxxed, most recent one was in November. Now I'm wondering if I had it before he did though because I was feeling really groggy at the end of last week and my RHR was really high but I didn't think anything of it just thought it was another pregnancy thing and I'd just done too much

NamelessBaby1 · 18/05/2022 11:52

@MollyRover bringing you in here now incase you missed the new thread, you must have thought we'd all disappeared! Hehe.

I had my 32 week midwife appointment this morning, (well 31+5), all fine again, growth going well, although baby's heartbeat was quite high to start off with but they said it was just because it was wiggling around so much after them (midwife + student) feeling for it! Baby is definitely the right way around now so hopefully it stays that way until birth!

Surprised it's still another 4 weeks until the next appointment though before it goes to every 2nd week, seems a long time, but that will be me nearly finished work which is exciting!

Thanks, must be my baby brain ๐Ÿ˜‚. I'll repost...

How's everyone doing? Just fixed my last day of work as the 3rd of June this week, can't come sooner. I'm exhausted completely and feel like I have no time to focus on myself and the baby so decided to take a week's holiday before my official leave starts since there's a bank holiday that week too. DH is off so we're going have some quality time together, aswell as spend quality time with DC1. I've a suspicion that DC2 will be early, bump is very low and DC1 was also 2 weeks early. Feel like I'll need some extra time to get both my sht and the baby's sht together ๐Ÿ˜…

ShellUK09 · 18/05/2022 16:38

Had my 31 week midwife appt today and generally all was well, however I do need to go for a growth scan at the hospital tomorrow. When she measured my bump it was 30cm and when she put this on my chart it means the measurement has gone down slightly since last time as it was slightly below the curve. Last time we were on 97th centile so I had been expecting a growth scan anyway! Baby has changed position since my last appt and has moved from breech to head down now which was good to hear, I wondered if she had moved as i've been feeling movements in different places this week. The midwife thinks the measurement is down to baby's different position and didn't think it was anything to worry about, but she is sending me for a scan to be on the safe side. Forgotten what scans are like now so it will be nice to see her again! Oh and I asked about the severe leg cramps, and what she said amazed me! She said bananas can actually trigger the leg cramps as you can have too much potassium, when I had read somewhere on Google bananas could help reduce them! Been having them everyday... So that's bananas off my shopping list ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hope everyone is doing okay, and hope you manage to avoid covid @ChinChilly or as you say if you have already had it sounds like you had a mild form and hopefully that was it ๐Ÿคž

MollyRover · 18/05/2022 18:39

@ShellUK09 are you serious?? Has literally all advice on bananas just been trolling pregnant women????

ShellUK09 · 18/05/2022 19:08

@MollyRover haha I don't know, but I'm confused! There always seems to be conflicting advice throughout pregnancy. Will try not eating them for a while anyway to see if it makes a difference to my leg cramps!

kiwi17 · 18/05/2022 19:20

That's weird... I haven't had a banana for ages but had one yesterday then had painful leg cramps last night in bed which I also haven't had for ages!

strawberrysummer19 · 18/05/2022 20:43

I've just started thinking about packing my hospital bag - I've bought bits here and there

Just wondering about the knicker situation!

I've bought a pack of pads and disposable knickers but how many do I need?

What knickers would be more comfy if I had c section? Currently my knickers are low rise so well below bump but will this feel uncomfortable if I do have a c section or should I get a pack of full brief?

How many vests/baby grows is enough?

I think I'll pack for a couple of days and then have my fiancรฉ go home for any more supplies if needed so I want to pack light

I have all miniature toiletries

My daughter is 10yrs and I just can't remember what I took

X

paintfairy · 18/05/2022 22:25

I keep getting cramps and I don't eat bananas. ๐Ÿคฃ
@strawberrysummer19 disposable pants? Do people do that? I've bought pads. I also did buy a pack of maternity full briefs from asda (about ยฃ7 I think?) in case of c section as I was thinking about the comfort issue. Miniature toiletries sounds organised! I'm definitely not......
