@missv556 get the pedicure!! Who knows how long it will be before you can do anything for yourself?

Worrying about the blood, but could it be the mucous plug maybe? It's sometimes referred to as a bloody show. Thinking of you and hope you get a positive answer from the midwife xx

@KizboBaggins you poor thing! I worried about that on my first pregnancy but my four footer was strangely extremely intuitive about it and was calmer than she ever was in her life. Nothing would have stopped me from walking her either!! Unfortunately she died last September and I have missed her every single day, especially since I've been pregnant- miss her little ear on my belly, listening. Miss how in love with DC2 she would have been (like she was with DC1) and the companionship she would have provided. Miss how DC2 would have been saying her name long before attempting Mama or Papa, again just like DC1 ๐Ÿคฃ

@strawberrysummer19 Iโ€™m finding I get really breathless now too from very light activity. I was the same last time, I think itโ€™s because our lungs get squashed up to make room for everything else!

strawberrysummer19 · 15/06/2022 10:20

@SamanthaVimes I read the same online when I googled last night! Chest felt so tight yesterday
I do love I'm pregnant but I'm really counting down now and looking forward to being able to do simple tasks again ๐Ÿ˜€

X

strawberrysummer19 · 15/06/2022 12:36

Midwife appointment done, now off for my growth scan.

Midwife said for induction my birthing partner can come in with me from the start and stay.
She has given me a leaflet with all info on inductions so will be having a read of that.
She said I could be in and out and doesn't necessarily mean induction can be days, obviously it can be but she said not always.
My first was very quick for a spontaneous so fingers crossed

Baby is head down and today at my growth scans hopefully find out measurements x

missv556 · 15/06/2022 17:48

Seems like I'm finally getting somewhere. Been booked in for a call in 2 weeks with a consultant to discuss details for birth. I'll be 37+4 then, midwife tried to get something before then but that's the first available appointment apparently. But from there it seems I'll be able to get my section booked in cos it won't happen before 39 weeks anyway

strawberrysummer19 · 15/06/2022 19:08

@missv556 that's great news x bet your feeling relieved x

strawberrysummer19 · 15/06/2022 19:38

Can anyone help me get a list of things together for my daughter. I want to get her a box of goodies for when baby is home. Just so she feels special.
My partner and I got together when she was 2.5yrs and he thinks and treats her as his own
She has her dad and sees him every other weekend all very amicable but I'm
Going to make sure she gets lots attention too as I'd hate her to feel left out.
She's 10, almost 11 and off to secondary school in sept. I was single for a year before I met my now fiancรฉ and it was just us. It's probably more me that's feeling it but she has me to herself and we spend a lot of time just us. So I'm a bit worried as babies are a huge change to dynamics.
Anyway
A list of ideas welcome pls
I'm thinking a box of some sort with all goodies like a Xmas eve box that we shall give her once me and baby get home, settled, she's had her cuddles etc then we can give her a big sister treat box
X

SamanthaVimes · 15/06/2022 20:01

@strawberrysummer19 I think a little treat box is a lovely idea. Iโ€™m a bit out of touch with what 10 year olds like but I always welcomed cute stationery (still do in fact!)

and maybe something that says โ€œbig sisterโ€ on it? Like pjs or something?

strawberrysummer19 · 15/06/2022 20:12

@SamanthaVimes me too and I have one!! Hehe
Stationary is a great shout, she loves that
I've bought baby a sleep suit with I have the best big sister but yes some pjs for her is another fab idea thank you x

CaptainCarp · 15/06/2022 20:25

@NotAsOldAsIFeel been for monitoring today & its due to my gestational diabetes not the induction.
They also did a sweep which wasn't as bad as I thought it might be & apparently can help even if I still have to be induced.

@KizboBaggins I hope you are feeling OK after your fall. Not surprised it shook you a bit.

@strawberrysummer19 I think they told me 3 days & if it doesn't work they'll do a section. Also remembered the 1st 24hrs is pessary not an injection. I thought they would let me go home until I was in active labour but no.
I have a running watch & my pace is getting slower but it registers as more moderate/vigorous exercise so my heart rate must be higher than before! Also feels more effort.

Mattieandmummy · 15/06/2022 21:01

@strawberrysummer19 how about a time with you voucher without her new sibling that she could 'spend' on an outing to do something that she likes. Depends what she's into I guess, maybe the cinema? Or a series of shorter things that might be easier to fit into new small person's routine?

strawberrysummer19 · 15/06/2022 21:21

@Mattieandmummy yes good idea - we've said we will make sure we both have us time
So that usually involves shopping with me and usually cinema with my fiancรฉ !

In fact we've started early, trying to do things now before baby comes and it's all a bit crazy, so tomorrow night we are having a 'girls night' she still likes sleeping in our bed when my partner has to work away sometimes, she comes in with me, making the most of it at this age when she still wants to! so we are having snacks and film night where I'm going into her room with the iPad and having a girly film night and my fiancรฉ is having an Xbox night downstairs ! She's so excited ! But we shall definitely keep things like that going especially with summer holls coming up
Obviously we will do loads as a family too x

Mattieandmummy · 15/06/2022 21:48

@strawberrysummer19 Awww, that's sweet. Can't wait for my first to be that bit older so we can do girly things. Assuming the sonographer is right number 2 is a girl too, my poor DH is going to be sooooooo outnumbered. Even the dog is a girl.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 15/06/2022 23:15

Anyone awake?

last few days (sorry tmi) โ€œnumber 2โ€™sโ€ have been getting looser and looser; just now had that awful pain you get when youโ€™ve got trapped gas (?), went to the toilet and had proper diarrhoea, just streamed out ๐Ÿ˜ณ

now lying in bed again feeling a bit sick, just a bit โ€œoffโ€, heartburn is raging also despite gaviscon.
of course, Google says โ€œoooh itโ€™s a sign itโ€™s startingโ€ฆโ€ and suddenly the realisation that actually, I have to go into Labour potentially soon is suddenly REALLY SCARY.

Iโ€™ve been so blasรฉ about the whole giving birth bit, but actually, Iโ€™m a huge wimp when it comes to pain, I cry when I stub my toe, and now lying here wanting to cry just because I feel anxious and sick.

38 weeks in about an hours timeโ€ฆ.

Peters27 · 16/06/2022 04:48

Hi @HotToddyColdSauvignon ,
I'm awake!not sure how the night has gone for you?I've also had a few days of much looser stools and been getting more BH..I'm awake most of the night tonight with worsening overall abdo discomfort nothing regular though so not sure it has started for me!I'm.36+5 and have the midwives today so I will see what they say!

With the the nausea etc for you though and having a sudden bout of proper diarrhoea I do think you might be starting.?Oh here id say its totally natural to be shitting it(pardon the pun ha) but you'll do brilliantly and have loads of options for pain relief-dont be afraid to ask them to load you up!

I'm also very blasรฉ and never done this before but hoping the natural instinct will get us through!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 16/06/2022 05:05

Thanks @Peters27

spent most of the night fretting ๐Ÿ˜‚ and tossing and turning whilst DH of course slept peacefully through! Not really fancying a hospital in 30ยฐ+ so if the baby can wait till after the weekend or so that would be great!

so think going to stay in bed and he can bring me breakfast!

Peters27 · 16/06/2022 05:15

Oh the exact same situation here with DH!I know hopefully you get over the weekend-I'll be parading around in my underwear come Friday I think!!!

Mind yourself anyway and enjoy breakfast in bed!

SamanthaVimes · 16/06/2022 05:51

@HotToddyColdSauvignon itโ€™s really normal to be worried about labour, itโ€™s the fear of the unknown.
Maybe have a chat to your midwife about pain relief options to put your mind at rest? Forewarned is forearmed!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 16/06/2022 05:54

Thanks @SamanthaVimes

thatโ€™s bizarrely the issue, Iโ€™m well informed, a rough not too strict birth plan written, everything as prepared as it could be - think just sitting on the loo last night in the dark with horrible abdominal cramps just made me worried I am going to be an absolute wuss when it actually starts!

feeling a lot less scary now itโ€™s daytime and Iโ€™ve had tea and toast!

Mattieandmummy · 16/06/2022 06:35

@HotToddyColdSauvignon it's totally normal to be scared about labour starting (if it is - could just be a dodgy tummy bug too) but you'll do brilliantly when it happens. Women have done this for thousands of years and I bet you are stronger than you think.

beetree1 · 16/06/2022 06:43

Hope youโ€™re feeling a lot better now @HotToddyColdSauvignon . Giving birth is a different sort of pain and itโ€™s amazing how the adrenaline kicks in and everything just clicks into place.

my DH has just tested positive for covid. Not ideal. Me and my daughter had it back in March and he didnโ€™t catch it then so Iโ€™m hoping we donโ€™t get it now. Itโ€™s the last thing I need! Selfishly as well itโ€™s our wedding anniversary this weekend and we had some nice plans and it was probably going to be our last child free before the baby arrived. Stressing out as well cos my DD came at 36+4 and although I think this oneโ€™s going to over cook itโ€™ll be just my luck they decide to come early and husband canโ€™t come in or something.

Hope everyoneโ€™s doing well x

SamanthaVimes · 16/06/2022 06:48

@HotToddyColdSauvignon tea and toast definitely makes things better!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 16/06/2022 08:04

Oh no @beetree1 ! Hope he clears the 5 days soon and you can have a slightly belated anniversary celebration next week. Fingers crossed

NamelessBaby1 · 16/06/2022 08:21

@HotToddyColdSauvignon glad you're feeling a bit more like it now - things always seem worse in the middle of the night for some reason!

It is exciting though that we're getting to the point where people may be going into labour and sections/ inductions starting next week! I only finish work tomorrow then have 4 weeks to go so still seems quite far away for me, although I'm sure the time will fly in! And soo glad it hasn't to be anywhere near as warm here, as I was struggling as it was yesterday at like 20ยฐ lol.

Have a 36 week appointment with the midwife today then finally go to appointments every other week, still been 4 weeks apart until now which is such a long time between hearing the heartbeat and whatnot!

beetree1 · 16/06/2022 08:24

Thanks @HotToddyColdSauvignon feeling very sorry for myself this morning lol. Feel like my emotions have gone a bit crazy again lately ๐Ÿ˜
