Well I ended up going into the maternity unit with reduced movements, hardly felt any movements all morning. Was ushered in the back door due to having covid and as soon as the monitors were on, she started having a party ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ typical! They're gonna do a growth scan once I'm negative for covid just to check but all ok for now thank goodness

KizboBaggins · 22/05/2022 15:17

Does anyone else feel like baby's movements are really intense? Up until now I'd felt him regularly and they were like nice little kicks and flicks and rolls. Now it's like Mount Vesuvius is in my womb and erupting at regular intervals. It almost hurts sometimes when he's rolling vigorously. Keeps catching me off guard!

Hope3821 · 22/05/2022 15:23

@HotToddyColdSauvignon oh wow hope you're feeling OK now. Had no idea this could happen in the lead up, at least I'll know what to look out for now, lightening crotch! Feel better x

So great to hear all the bf advice. I love the idea of baggy Ts & vest tops. Although bought a baggy T the other day & have given up trying to feel/look nice in anything, the Bump has taken over & I'm only 31+2.

Suddenly got really sad last night, was quite calm before but then suddenly felt like no one around me is acknowledging my pregnancy or being thoughtful towards me, just feeling like I have to get on with life as if nothing's different. Took me all morning to feel better again. Could be hormonal but also this is A LOT to deal with (1st time mum here) so trying to go easy on myself. Might buy a big chocolate cake today ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿซ๐Ÿฐ Any other mum's find that partners, family etc are a bit weird/loopy about your pregnancy?

I know what you mean a bit. Partner was a bit selfish in the beginning but I gave him a stern talking to about how it was impacting on me and he's been fantastic since.

Now it's the turn of my 2 best friends, who have been putting another friend off planning a baby shower for me because they are apparently doing it for the last 2 months. I don't care about a baby shower, but actively stopping someone else from doing it is just mean and I have no idea what their problem is. Only a few weeks left and they're being sh*tty about dates now. Feel like baby-zilla Hmm

Confusion101 · 22/05/2022 16:07

Yes @KizboBaggins I can see it moving from one side to the other! Much stronger movements this week

Coco9910 · 22/05/2022 18:31

@Hope3821 yes I can completely relate! Iโ€™ve been feeling like this for a few weeks and I was thinking am I just expecting too much or am I being overly sensitive. I feel like my pregnancy is flying by and I really want to enjoy every second of it but I feel like itโ€™s not really been acknowledged by other people. Which I get, to me itโ€™s my whole world so why should anyone else be bothered, but I donโ€™t know..just makes me feel a bit lonely. I think it doesnโ€™t help that my partner has been suffering with sciatica for a few months and every day he tells me how much pain heโ€™s in, and if I say my back hurts or my hip hurts he just tells me that his leg hurts. I had a cry about it the other day because I havenโ€™t been sleeping very well and he said I was waking him up and I just wanted to scream like โ€œIโ€™m pregnant!! You should be taking care of me!!โ€ He has good intentions and Iโ€™ve tried to talk to him about it but I canโ€™t seem to find the words to make him understand how Iโ€™m feeling. And my work..gosh Iโ€™ve been telling them I need to start slowing down as Iโ€™m starting to struggle but they arenโ€™t interested! They just keep piling on the work load so I canโ€™t wait to finish. Sorry for the long rant! Hope you are feeling better and please private message me if you ever need to chat!

I'm exhausted today! We have spent the weekend painting the nursery, building the furniture, washed and dried all the clothes and Iโ€™ve just organised them into sizes and put them all away. I feel a bit more prepared now the nursery is pretty much ready.

Anyone got any advice on hospital bag for myself and baby? Like how many of each outfits? Amy must haves for myself?

Coco9910 · 22/05/2022 18:33

@ChinChilly glad baby is okay and started moving about! Typical as soon as you get on the monitor ๐Ÿ˜… hope youโ€™re feeling okay with covid!

@KizboBaggins yes had a few times where Iโ€™ve been like โ€œoh!!โ€ when I get a kick! I got a lot more just movement too..like I can feel her moving around a lot more and see my bump moving as she moves. I love it!

annie1994 · 22/05/2022 18:48

@KizboBaggins yes! Sometimes the movements are so uncomfortable! My baby is breech so Iโ€™m wondering if itโ€™s him trying to really turn himself. Either way itโ€™s uncomfortable!! And he keeps booting my cervix/ bladder/ bowel and that makes me feel a bit queasy ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have attached a picture of my hospital bag list incase it helps anyone. I have to stay in for 48 hours afterwards so if I/ baby need anything else my partner will bring it in!

@Coco9910 @annie1994 glad it's not just me!

That's a great list btw Annie. I've screen shotted it lol. I've got one too and the only things I think I have in addition are slippers/sliders, maternity notes (cause I will forget them), loads of snacks, headphones & phone charger. Oh and cash just in case I run out of snacks and there's only vending machines available ๐Ÿ˜‚

Coco you need to put yourself first! With both your partner and your work. You are literally building a human life. It's the only time in my life I've started to be a bit selfish and felt zero guilt about it. It's quite liberating lol

@Hope3821 I hope you bought yourself that chocolate cake!!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 22/05/2022 19:24

Sending hugs @ChinChilly glad baby is moving around freely again

ShellUK09 · 22/05/2022 19:40

@KizboBaggins oh yeah plenty snacks in the hospital bag, I'm putting some nice M&S crisps in, chocolate, and Percy pigs! I've been focused on snacks and not even sure I'll be up for them haha. Spent the afternoon washing and putting baby's clothes in the bag too although think I need a few more new born sized baby grows.

@Coco9910 I get those moments where the kick takes me by surprise too, it is strange when you see whole parts of your stomach moving around! My hospital said bring 6 vests and 6 baby grows in new born or first size, hats and bibs. I've no idea what to bring for myself clothes wise but have bought a light dressing gown for when we are in the hospital.

@Hope3821 I feel a bit like that too sometimes, some days I'm in a terrible mood and no one can do anything right, sure it must be all hormone related. Thankfully have more good days than bad though. It is such a huge life change. Make sure you treat yourself ๐Ÿ™‚

@ChinChilly glad you're okay and are booked in for a growth scan as well, it will put your mind at ease.

Coco9910 · 22/05/2022 19:59

@KizboBaggins yes I definitely need to start saying โ€œnoโ€ to people and putting myself first. Most of the time my partner is really understanding and supportive, but I think him being in pain and mentioning it whenever I say Iโ€™m uncomfortable is what is getting to me ๐Ÿ˜‚ maybe I need to snap at him then blame the pregnancy rage ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜…

@ShellUK09 So bizarre isnโ€™t it! I saw a foot or hand come out last week and move across my stomach..I pretty much squealed! ๐Ÿ˜‚ ahh good advice for the baby bag! I was thinking of taking newborn sizes and 0-3 months but do you think if sheโ€™s not measuring big Iโ€™d be alright with just newborn?

@annie1994 thank you for that list! Very helpful!

Hope3821 · 22/05/2022 20:09

@MollyRover omg the baby shower thing! That sounds like an absolute pain for you, friends shouldn't be acting that way. My mum actually refused to host my baby shower at her house when I asked her to, because it'd "too stressful for her". I'd be lucky to get more than 8 people show up anyway ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ but then my other friend said she'd do it for me, was super excited and haven't heard anything in 6 weeks ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm just going to send myself to a spa day alone ๐Ÿ˜…

@Coco9910 aw thanks you too, DM if you need! yeh I've had a few chats with my hubby. He's so amazing in so many ways but just doesn't seem to get it sometimes. Funnily I chatted to him yesterday, all of a sudden he's got man flu and I'm looking after him anyway after all that ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ On top of that my mother-in-law got our pram delivered then refused to give it to us, because it'd be bad luck in the house. I was so incredibly upset! We finally got it, and could check it all works but what a nightmare that was. I just feel like it's such a meaningful & crazy, hormonal time being pregnant, then everyone around wants to make it more crazy for you!

Thanks @KizboBaggins &@ShellUK09 I bought a biiiig chocolate cake all for me ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽ‚

MollyRover · 22/05/2022 21:20

@Hope3821 you are so right! I don't know what's wrong with people really. Myself and DH have had a lucky ish time of it over the last few months but to be honest it's come as a result of a lot of hard work and sacrifice. I am SHATTERED at the moment. If they were in the same position as I am then I would be happy for them, not determined to drag them down with this passive aggressive weirdness.

Hang on in there everyone, only 5 - 10 weeks to go!! And thanks, finding this thread a great help especially getting through the aches, pains and swinging hormones xxx

ShellUK09 · 22/05/2022 22:45

@Coco9910 I haven't seen a foot or hand yet, that sounds surreal and amazing, but I see her bouncing around quite a bit! Yeah it's confusing about what to take for baby when you don't really know their size, I'm planning on taking mainly newborn but with a few 0-3 as well just in case.

@Hope3821 aaah lovely ๐Ÿ˜‹ could just eat some chocolate cake now right now. We all deserve to treat ourselves, pregnancy really isn't easy but we are so close to the final stretch now.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/05/2022 03:33

@Coco9910 you need to look after yourself (sending hugs)

Iโ€™m just taking 0-3 as I figure if itโ€™s too big on her (shrugs) itโ€™s better than too small!

Lianna93 · 23/05/2022 06:08

I've had such an crappy night ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Started off with a little niggle of lower back pain - come bed time this pain only intensified.
Had 3 loose bowel movements & what felt like dull period pains.
Took paracetamol & managed to fall asleep but now I'm awake & the back pain is starting up again ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Can feel baby kicking/moving low down now too!
Genuinely have the fear I'm gonna go early & I'm nowhere near prepared for baby ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ™ˆ

@Lianna93 oh no hope you're ok! Have you phoned the hospital? It does sound like the start of early labour, but i'm no expert and it's all new to me too. How many weeks are you?

Lianna93 · 23/05/2022 07:28

@ShellUK09 That's what Google was telling me too ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ Know I shouldn't be googling things but yknow... habit ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚
I'm 34 weeks tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜ฌ It seems to have calmed down just now & I've not lost my plug or waters breaking so I'm hoping it's just because baby is moving herself down now... ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป
I have my midwife on Thursday but if I continue experiencing what I have been, I'll phone triage.

Definitely call the midwife just to register it and take it very very easy @Lianna93 . Don't worry about not being ready, realistically all baby needs is you so it will be absolutely fine no matter what happens.

Just had the public health visitor at the door accidentally 24 hours early for the intake/ inspection here, just going into a meeting now and the baby's room is also not prepared- don't even have a buggy ๐Ÿ˜‚. Had to send her away as there's too much happening today to be rearranging schedules. Second child and the first is thriving so I'm not too concerned about being facilitating....

DayToNight · 23/05/2022 11:47

@Lianna93 I had the same a couple of weeks ago (30 weeks). I ended up in triage and they checked I wasn't going into pre-term labour.
A lot of tests later they were happy it is just Braxton Hicks contractions.

strawberrysummer19 · 23/05/2022 15:11

Hi ladies

How is everyone?

I'm having a real worry - baby was so active at the weekend
Jabbing poking and kicking

Today have hardly felt her even when I have done it's so so gentle

I'm just doing the school run then thinking I may have to call in ๐Ÿ™„

I'm 31 wks tomorrow and it's been such a horrible day where I've constantly worried about her moving - lack of - it's made me feel yuck and meh

Have no energy and so tired today
Haven't had the best Monday

Feeling anxious x

annie1994 · 23/05/2022 15:42

@strawberrysummer19 I would just call triage for peace of mind ๐Ÿ˜Š I know itโ€™s effort going in but no point in worrying all day! Hope everything is ok x

Danani · 23/05/2022 17:21

Hey everyone! How is everyone doing/feeling?

@Lianna93 hope your little one stays put for a while longer! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

@strawberrysummer19 oh Iโ€™m sorry youโ€™re feeling worried! Best to really call in if worried! Althoughโ€ฆthey do tend to have slightly quieter days here and there (speaking for myself), especially after a really active day or two. But if worried, best to call in for a peace of mind!

Iโ€™m 30 weeks today! Cannot quite believe it, it feels like such a milestone!

I wanted to ask if anyone else was experiencing this at around this time : from about 27-28 weeks baby movements got more frequent (like I feel her basically throughout the day and evening) but got less intense. Like, they feel less punchy and jabby than before, and more squirmy/ rolly/ twisty. I can see my belly move and it looks like waves or something, and shifts from one side to the other, and then I see something round a hard poking and proding out (I think itโ€™s a bum!) and makes my belly really lopsided and funny looking! ๐Ÿ˜„
Anyways, I read a lot of people are experiencing very INTENSE kicks and pokes, some even say painful, and mine are quite gentle and I wouldnโ€™t describe as kicks, but more rolling / shifting movements. I have my midwife app on Thu and shall enquire further, but was just wondering if anyone else has had the same or Iโ€™m just weird?!

Coco9910 · 23/05/2022 17:27

@strawberrysummer19 sorry you havenโ€™t had the best day! Definitely give them a call if resting and feeling your bump for movement isnโ€™t giving you any reassurance ๐Ÿ’•

@Danani yes Iโ€™m the same! I get a few kicks but mostly now I get just move my , like sheโ€™s shifting position and a bum will stick out or something. Iโ€™m going to mention it to my midwife on Wednesday and just check thatโ€™s okay as technically it is a change in movement but itโ€™s been gradual, not overnight.
