Yes I'm also getting movement all over, still tends to be mainly on my left hand side, but sometimes high and sometimes lower down. Also now at the point I see my stomach move all over at times which is really weird.

@ShellUK09 I have a Tutti Bambini bedside crib too, managed to get it second hand which I'm very pleased with!

Got the Glasgow baby show tomorrow so hoping to get the pram/ travel system etc sorted so at least that's the big things out the way. Also got a while pile of clothes and bits and bobs from a friend whose baby has outgrown them so think I'm feeling quite sorted now!

ShellUK09 · 22/04/2022 23:15

@NamelessBaby1 yes it's so strange seeing movements through your stomach, sometimes it feels like she is wanting to climb out! Glad you got a bargain with the crib, it's worth looking at second hand things.

@strawberrysummer19 yes I get movements low down and I feel the low kicks, I then tend to get the odd punch higher up! The midwife told me to note down a pattern of movement soon but right now it all seems a bit random. The only constant is she moves a lot more at 9pm each night just as I'm feeling tired!

Coco9910 · 22/04/2022 23:27

I sometimes get some kicks that are like towards my back / bum..feels really strange! I love sitting and watching my bump move! I give it a tiny prod (nothing hard) and she kicks back and reacts to it..so cute! I’m not pressing deep or hard, that’s not going to cause any damage is it? I’m only asking as my partner said it makes him cringe when I prod my bump 👀

Anyone got any last minute recommendations for anything I might need for a holiday while pregnant? I’m going to Greece this weekend and I’ve got flight socks and I’ve got some flannels to wet in the pool and put on my bump to help keep it cool. Is there anything else you think I may need? :)

strawberrysummer19 · 22/04/2022 20:23

Tonight I've felt movement really really low down! Is this normal? Anyone else getting this? I'm 26+4

Some movement has been side and higher up but tonight's it's so low, feels like she's kicking my bits! X

Me @strawberrysummer19 , I’ve never really had kicks or flutters anywhere other than riiiiight down by my pelvis or bladder.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/04/2022 00:00

Got another stupid question coming up!

We’ve bought our pram, gone with the Icandy line, all looks lovely etc etc. When the baby is 5-6 months and moves into the “seat” part of the pram system, I know it folds flat and I store it in the boot of the car etc with the actual pram chassis

But for the new born stage, there’s a big lie flat, what looks like basically a full on Moses basket thingy, which we use on the chassis - but where does it go when it’s not attached to the pram? It doesn’t fold down like the seat, so does it just go on the back seat of the car and take up basically the whole of the back seat?

which would mean - when do I actually use the pram 0-6 months? Going to be a right pain carting that huge basket thingy around - surely I don’t take that into Aldi etc on a daily basis? Does it mean the lie flat pram Moses basket bit is only used for genteel yummy mummy strolls around my house?

annie1994 · 23/04/2022 06:44

@HotToddyColdSauvignon unfortunately that’s what we had to do! Our car seat did attach to our wheels so when he was young and I was just popping to the shops etc I would use that. But whenever we were going out for longer I had to lug around the chassis thing in the car so he could stretch out more

missv556 · 23/04/2022 07:37

I get movement really low down at times too, like he's kicking the top of my fairy 🤣 but I feel him all over, he was having a bit of a kick and a punch about 15 minutes ago just above my belly button.

Anyone else going to do a 4d scan? I'm going for one later this afternoon. Bit pricey (£75!) but 2 of my friends that have children highly recommend it, they said you really get to see what the baby will look like at birth and I'm too curious to wait another 12 weeks

strawberrysummer19 · 23/04/2022 08:05

@missv556 I've had a 4d as we've had a couple
Of private scans one being a gender - I don't particularly like them but it was in the package and for one my daughter was there and thought it would be nice for her to see
Unfortunately my experience was you can't get to see much and some of the pic end up looking a bit strange in my opinion
I paid £90 for this one but what they did say was I could have a free re scan because of it and they suggested we do it at 28wks so baby as a bit of fat on her so hopefully will get better pics
We went for a well-being scan so in my opinion that was all that mattered but as they suggested to come back I'm not going to refuse !!

Thanks everyone - yes she does kick other places just seemed very low last night! This morning she has woke me kicking my belly button area and sides - love it though xx

missv556 · 23/04/2022 08:17

@strawberrysummer19 I'm 28 weeks tomorrow so hopefully the pictures come out alright 🤞🏾 I love the kicks as well, it's so reassuring to feel them. I play a game with my baby, I'll tap a spot on my belly and he kicks back exactly where I tapped. Or if my hand is resting on my belly he always kicks where my hand is, like he can sense mummy's there 😍

strawberrysummer19 · 23/04/2022 08:33

@missv556 you should do then, keep us updated, mine is in a couple of weeks time.

My bubs doesn't seem to have a pattern at all
In fact when she does kick as soon as my fiancé puts his hand on she stops ! Like I've made it all up! X

missv556 · 23/04/2022 08:39

@strawberrysummer19 my boy is the same with his dad sometimes lmao but one day last week I literally just grabbed his hand super quick and he got to feel baby move for the first time. And he's started to move around at bedtime so my partner spoons me with his hand over my belly and gets to feel movement

strawberrysummer19 · 23/04/2022 08:40

@missv556 ah that's nice ! I'm sure my fiancé gets sick of me grabbing his hand!! She just seems to stop as soon as he does it. But he has felt a fair few. Even my daughter has which is so nice for her xx

missv556 · 23/04/2022 08:45

These babies are stubborn, as soon as they know they are being monitored they're like nope, not performing for you now 😂 god help us when they are actually here, gonna have our work cut out

ShellUK09 · 23/04/2022 08:55

@strawberrysummer19 haha I'm glad you said that, as same thing happens with me. As soon as I say she is kicking now she stops when my partner tries to feel! I don't know if it is the heat of his hand which calms her down. He has managed to feel some kicks though which is lovely ☺️

Mine too!! He gets so excited and runs across the kitchen and then the second his hand touches my bump she stops. Feel so sorry for him poor sod, I swear he think I’m making it up!

deliwoman1 · 23/04/2022 13:16

I'm 30 weeks tomorrow and we're almost done with buying the essential things. Just a couple of pricey purchases, including pram and car seat base, left to get. I think we'll try and buy the cotbed for her room before she's here, just to get that out the way, but we've got a Joie Roomie Glide for her bedside crib.

Our baby also does the hiding trick any time my partner comes close! He's determined though, so he's caught her wriggling. He's also seen it through my tummy, which is fascinating (and very weird)!

missv556 · 23/04/2022 17:45

Back from the 4d scan. Baby is doing good but he did not want to have any parts of it lmao he had his foot in front of his face, then he put his hand up too and to top it all off, he then turned his back to us altogether. After a trip to the loo to empty my bladder, we got him to move enough to get a few pics but they weren't fantastic by any means

JJ1992 · 24/04/2022 10:28

Appologies if this has already been spoken about but has anyone had a look at the dock-a-tot / sleepyhead pillows?
Everything ive seen about safe sleep and SIDS makes me think no chance to these products, but it seems everyone i know who is pregnant/ has a newborn loves them!
Is it just about how you use it? Im starting to get anxious when i see pictures of little ones snuggled up in them from a young age. Have any of you guys used them/ planning on using them?
Is anyone actually using them at bedtime or are they more for sitting baby in through the day a bit like a bouncer?

KizboBaggins · 24/04/2022 11:08

@JJ1992 funnily enough I've been thinking the same thing. I saw something similar in Aldi and have heard really good things about them, however when I was talking to my midwife she said to not let a newborn sleep in a "nest" which I presume is what these are. From what I can gather people are allowing baby to nap in them, whilst under supervision, but not sleep in them overnight maybe?

This is completely my guess, I have zero experience or authority so hoping someone else knows more!

paintfairy · 24/04/2022 11:23

@JJ1992 I have the same opinion on the sleepyhead. So I haven't bought one.
@HotToddyColdSauvignon nothing is simple and I'm not sure prams are all that user friendly! My carrycot part does flatten though (bugaboo) but not as much as the older child part obviously. I suppose they at better than they used to be. 🙄
@Coco9910 I prod my bump too sometimes. Like you say- not hard but they know you are there!
My movements vary. Some are low and some are high. I guess depending on position? I don't think it means anything though.

strawberrysummer19 · 24/04/2022 12:06

I'm sure those nests are for daytime sleeping when supervised but not to use at night
As I thought nothing can be in the cot with them when they sleep? That's my understanding of them x

strawberrysummer19 · 24/04/2022 12:08

@missv556 that's exactly what happened to
Me at my well-being /growth scan last week at 25wks
They are having me back for a re scan at 28wks as she said baby would have a fair bit of fat on her by then
Does the clinic offer this? I paid £90 for this scan and a re scan I think is good value
X

SoMuch2Say · 24/04/2022 13:11

@HotToddyColdSauvignon we have also gone for the iCandy Cerium but I believe most carrycots are the same in that they don’t flatten. So yes it’s my understanding that you fold the pram and carry cot has to sit elsewhere in the car if you want to bring it. Our plan is to fold the pram and sit carrycot on top in the boot although this mean it’ll be next to the dog 🙈Does your car seat fit the iCandy?

SoMuch2Say · 24/04/2022 13:14

@JJ1992 we bought a second hand one for £50 on Facebook marketplace. Looks practically unused. I didn’t fancy spending how much they are new not really knowing how much well use it for the reasons you’re asking about. I agree with others though, I think it’s for daytime, supervised napping.

Yes, luckily our Icandy came with converters included so our car seat does attach - though we’ve had so much trouble attaching the sodding car seat to the isofix we may never remove it from the car!

guess you’re right, lie flat pram bit will just have to take up room in the car for the first 6 months!
