Day 7 for me and still getting a faint positive on the test, so and to rearrange my next midwife appointment which was tomorrow where I was hoping to hear the heartbeat for the first time. At least it's just rescheduled to next week, but still! I'm still coughing a bit now and again but been feeling pretty much completely fine the last couple of days!

strawberrysummer19 · 10/03/2022 07:14

@NamelessBaby1 so annoying for you! I got my negative the day of the scan so it was touch and go ! Would have hated to arrange
Which was day 9 for me but then completely gone

Hope everyone is ok and covid gang are getting through it - my sinuses / head are feeling better - still there but again much better

Xx

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 10/03/2022 07:53

@NamelessBaby1 same I had a consultant appointment yesterday had to rebook for next week. Day 7 for me and still faint positive on one test and dark on another 🤷🏼‍♀️ not sure which one to believe 🤣 still positive either way with no symptoms at all.

Danani · 10/03/2022 08:50

Morning lovelies!

Need a bit of a sanity check: you know I’ve been umming and ahhing if the twitching things I’ve been feeling were baby, but over the past 12 or so days since I first noticed it, I’ve grown convinced it IS the baby!
Since the weekend I’ve been feeling these sensations daily (it was more like every other day before) but I didn’t feel anything yesterday, or nothing conclusive.
I’ve read baby is still small enough that can take a position and not be felt, and also that reliable and regular movements happen more like 25ish weeks or so. (I’m 19+3)
Justtttt I guess want someone to come in and say : Yep, nothing to worry about! 🙈

Coco9910 · 10/03/2022 09:09

@Danani definitely nothing to worry about! At the moment the baby is still small enough to basically do somersaults in the uterus without us feeling it so definitely do not worry! I’m hoping to be feeling more definite movements by 22 weeks!

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 10/03/2022 09:25

@Danani totally normal at this stage. In a few weeks you will defo be feeling much more and I think it’s about 28 weeks you really need to start counting and by then the baby will be in a pattern and you’ll know what’s normal and what’s not. I felt popping just before 15 weeks (3rd baby) then felt like tapping sensations for a few weeks and now at 22+5 feeling rolls, kicks etc and the baby is very active so it will defo get stronger. My placenta is posterior so nothing cushioning the kicks. Everyone is different and some ladies don’t feel their first movements till 24 weeks. Hope that’s reassured you 😊 xx

Lianna93 · 10/03/2022 10:43

@Danani My placenta is anterior so was told it'd be a while before I'd feel anything. At 16 weeks I was feeling a fluttery sensation but only felt it when I was going for naps.
I'm now 23 weeks & im getting some proper strong kicks that even DH can now feel. He said it feels like my stomach is twitching, so what's a little movement for him is like a full force kick for me 🙈😂
Baby is starting to get responsive too, kicks the most when I have music playing.

Your baby will be kicking but as they get bigger, you'll start to feel it more & you'll get used to their patterns too :) Try not to worry, baby's all hit milestones at different stages 🥰

missv556 · 11/03/2022 06:52

@Danani I could see my baby moving when I had my 20 scan but couldn't feel all of the movements he made so it's totally normal to not always feel it just yet. I've been feeling mine since 16 weeks but only just felt it externally for the first time on Wednesday so they do get stronger over time.

@Lianna93 the first time I felt really obvious movement I had music on too, Bob Marley's Jammin' came on the radio when I was in my friends car and he kicked me several times 😂 not sure if that means he liked it or hated it. But now he moves the most when I eat/just eaten, especially after dinner

strawberrysummer19 · 11/03/2022 07:10

Morning all after my 20 wks scan Tuesday and seeing baby move and even feeling some movement that evening - I've had very little movement still!! Even yesterday I felt her slightly on the afternoon and counted two movements in the evening - I feel I'm constantly looking for movement- I just thought it would get more obvious now I'm 20+3

But from reading on here and anterior placenta maybe be a bit longer - I'm so impatient !
Even getting great results at the scan, a really lengthy 40 min scan which seemed ages I still have this bloody worry ☹️

Hope everyone is doing well

Day 10 and negative and feeling better - still heady and feel so tired and went back to work yesterday but hoping to feel more like myself soon xx

AppleTree16 · 11/03/2022 09:18

@strawberrysummer19 just posted this on another thread too but it’s relevant here - I was the same until very recently. I’m 21+3 today with a high anterior placenta. I was feeling squeezes from around 18 weeks but since last Saturday (20+4) I’ve had proper kicks - so much so that my husband has now felt them. I’ve been woken up at 3am with thuds too and now getting that “fish swim in the sea” feeling when they are doing rolls. It was mainly evenings but now feeling during the day too. Was also starting to get worried but things have definitely taken off the last week!

MollyRover · 11/03/2022 09:36

Getting over the Covid now and feeling much better. At 22 + 3 I'm getting kicked alot and DH can also feel it, my eldest says that they can but I don't think so really- they would be alot more excited if they could :). I've been having twinges since around 16 weeks but that's expected for the second I think. I've noticed that talking to the bump is the key to movement, especially when DH does it!

NamelessBaby1 · 11/03/2022 10:20

Glad everyone with COVID is starting to feel better! I had a negative test for the first time today, but been back at work (from home) since Tuesday as other than an occasional wee cough actually been ok.

Baby was very active while my husband was watching the football last night, think they are going to be a Newcastle fan too, haha.

ShellUK09 · 11/03/2022 10:58

I hope everyone feels better soon. It's quite worrying that a lot of people are catching Covid right now. There is a funeral in my family soon for my partner's grandmother and I'm undecided whether to attend as I think it will be risky for catching covid. I feel awful saying that but people will be hugging etc and going back to her house afterwards, which is a tiny bungalow... It's tricky trying to protect ourselves and our babies when there's no safety measures in place anymore.

If you have your vaccinations go to the funeral, you don't need to go to the bungalow afterwards. Wear a mask and be steadfast with your handwashing and distancing, and your DH should do the same. It would have been nice to avoid it but honestly we found it peaceful to have a little rest from work/ school and spend some unexpected quality time together, myself and DH were barely sick (1 or 2 days each) and DC wasn't sick at all.

If you're not vaccinated then I would say skip it and let DH go with mask, distancing and handwashing, explaining your absence as necessary- the family will understand, you're at higher risk due to pregnancy.

Coco9910 · 11/03/2022 15:53

Just back from my 20 week scan and they said all is looking good so that’s a relief! I asked about my placenta being low lying and she said she would class it as being low lying as it’s more than 2cm away from the cervix so that is also a relief! They have confirmed she is a girl, but she wasn’t in the mood for posing. The sonographer had me jumping and moving around to try and get a good picture but she was just happily chilling with her legs crossed and up like she eas in a hammock 😂 Hope everyone else’s scans have gone well who have had them recently :)

SPea · 11/03/2022 16:14

@missv556 I'm pretty sure mine likes Mumford and Sons, he was giving me a right old kick whilst that was playing on the radio when I was driving in the car earlier.

Glad to hear everyone with Covid is pulling through okay. I was pinged on my phone from being near somebody on Monday, but thankfully have been testing negative so far.

Has anybody else been to pick up the Emma's Diary Packs yet? I was a little sceptical as to whether they were worth it, but reckon I got a decent haul with all 3. They're mostly samples but will be good for taking baby to other people's houses and stuff, and the 2nd pack even had some Newborn nappies and wipes!

Due July 2022 (thread 4)
SPea · 11/03/2022 16:17

@Coco9910 that's great news! My placenta was low lying, 1cm away rather than 2 and she said it only needed to move the 1cm to be fine, so sounds like yours is nothing to worry about any more!

KizboBaggins · 11/03/2022 16:30

@SPea ooo where do you get them? They look half decent. I think I signed up to the Emma's Diary app but not sure where you get the packs (and I'm clearly too lazy to check lol)

@Coco9910 congratulations and glad it went well!

Day 3 of covid for me... just feels like a bad cold, although I've been coughing more today. I can wfh so feel like there's an expectation for me to work even though I'm poorly and could probably do with a rest. A lot of people I work with just "worked through" covid. Mind you I guess they weren't also pregnant... Oh well, it's the weekend for me now anyway. Hopefully symptoms ease off soon.

Has anyone started buying more stuff for baby yet? I said I'd start after 20 week scan but 5 days later I've still done nothing....

Coco9910 · 11/03/2022 17:41

@SPea yes it’s great news! I’d kinda got it in my head that I would have further scans because of it but now I believe I have no more scans unless growth scans are needed later down the line and I felt a little bit lost not knowing when I get to see her again! I think once I start to feel her moving more I will feel more reassured.

I’ve got 2 of the Emma’s Diary bags and a Bounty bag..I haven’t got the one with the nappies in yet so I’ll have to try find that!

@KizboBaggins yes we said we were waiting for our 20 week scan, and we have only just had it so it would be a miracle if we had bought anything. But now I keep saying “let’s wait for the baby event next week” but I think we will be better off if we go with an idea of what we want. I’m really struggling with now to decorate the nursery as well. I want to get started on it sooner rather than later so that’s it done and finished ahead of time. I know they don’t use it for the first 6 months but I like the idea of it being ready for her!

NamelessBaby1 · 11/03/2022 18:02

Also would like to know where you get the Emma's baby thing; looks like it might come in handy!

I'm exactly the same @Coco9910 and @KizboBaggins, although I did buy one very cute star wars baby grow so far, haha. I'm now going to wait till the baby show at the end of April before getting the bigger things, as that will hopefully give me a chance to try out some stuff. I've been given some stuff by other people already too (changing mat, car seat which my parents can use, and even a new breast lumpy). But yeah, just can't get my head in the right place to be thinking about anything else yet!

SPea · 11/03/2022 18:14

@coco9910 the nappy one was the 2nd Purple pack. Not sure if they're the same everywhere or not?

@KizboBaggins @NamelessBaby1 so you have to download the app Emma's Diary, and register an account. (I think this is where people are put off as you're agreeing to share your data, but tbh I sign up to so much stuff I reckon what's one more?) Then you can go to either Boots or Argos (I went to an Argos inside Sainsburys) and you show them the codes from the app to be able to redeem the packs, was fairly simple when combined with a bit of a food shop in Sainsburys! You can also redeem each pack 3 times, so could work out as quite a few freebies.

I also looked up the bounty one, as I thought it was just the things I get at the hospital, but apparently there's a proper pack you can pick up from Tesco so I'll be trying that next!

NamelessBaby1 · 11/03/2022 18:53

Cool, thanks @SPea :)

missv556 · 12/03/2022 06:59

I didnt know you could get the Emma's diary ones multiple times. I got the first pack and it was underwhelming to say the least. There was a sample of maternity pads, some bump butter, a sample of comfort fabric conditioner and 7 days of pregnacare vitamins. Not been for the 2nd pack yet. I had a faff with the coupon, had to be sent them by post as when I tried to download them on my phone they corrupted somehow and said I'd redeemed them already. The Bounty pack was even worse, it had a sample of about 3 water wipes, some Milton sterilising tablets and a sample of persil fabric conditioner. I picked up both packs from boots. My nearest big tesco said they hadn't received any packs for almost a year from bounty

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 12/03/2022 08:15

Morning everyone hope you’re all ok! Day 9 for me gonna test this morning and hope it’s negative🤞🏻🥱I’ve picked up my bounty pack but need to grab the Emma diary ones if there’s any in stock in my area. I feel shattered today as hardly slept my 5 year old was vomiting from 11.45pm 😴😴 going to be a long day ahead of washing sick things and praying I don’t catch it! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

strawberrysummer19 · 12/03/2022 08:44

Thanks for the recommendation of Emma's diary
I have the bounty pack
I'm off to boots / Argos later 😀
So you can collect all 3 packs on one day? X
